3-0 out of 5 stars So action-packed, it's a comedy...
If you're into action-packed movies that make you laugh at their lack of action and failed attempts to grip the audience, then you need Cold Harvest. Before one even watches this movie, a close reading of the synopsis on the back cover, reveals everything anyone would want to know about the movie, maybe too much. There are many serious, dramatic scenes in this movie, which bring the audience to laughter:

The infamous 19-shot revolver, the innocent homeless man getting kicked over early in the movie, the mysterious man with a cord coming out of his back, the motorcycle rider that briefly forgets Roland's location after giving him the fiercest expression one could ever imagine, the magical moving mirror hanging on the wall in the highly emotional "beautiful back" scene, the highly skilled two-story-jumping ninjas, the painting-like acting of Gary Daniels, and the non-stop back-flipping action fed to us by the stunt men.

This movie is entertaining and is a source for many inside jokes between the viewers. This movie gets three stars for being a comedy and one for an action movie.

Confession: I bought this movie for one reason -- Gary Daniels, one of the prettiest and most appealing men ever filmed.

I'm not a martial arts fan per se, so it didn't bother me that this movie doesn't have quite as many, nor as flashy, fight scenes as Gary's "Bloodmoon" did. I imagine that martial arts fans will nonetheless appreciate what is in this movie. There isn't exactly a shortage of knockdown martial arts fighting here.

What this movie did have, moreso than some of Gary's other films, is an opportunity for Gary to act. He briefly plays two characters, and here one can see that he really can portray a character that is quite unlike the staid, somber hero part that the dialogue/script usually confines him to. It is almost disconcerting to see him playing such an uncharacteristic personality (as the married brother) -- very unlike his performance in any other movie (except perhaps "Spoiler" which also is an odd performance).

Gary looks stunning in this movie. He sports a bit of a scruffy, unshaven look here, but it works very well on him. When the camera lingers on Gary's face, as happens in several scenes where he gets to show some emotion, one can see that this face is a work of sheer art -- the pinnacle of male beauty. And Gary's physique is equally as impressive, which he shows off a little in some scenes -- perfectly sculpted, proportionate, and defined.

I would have liked to have seen more of a love interest explored. (Unfortunately, very, very few Gary Daniels movies do have a satisfactory plot development in this regard. It's inexplicable that here is one of the prettiest men on film, and yet he never gets a notable love story. Go figure).

It also has a sensible (albeit perhaps not exhilarating) plot that could be understood and followed. It isn't just a series of fight scenes cut together.

I think that this is one of Gary's best. It has a little bit of everything that you'd find in a Gary Daniels movie, showcased in a favorable way. You may find a better fight scene in Bloodmoon, or even more acting from Gary in Spoiler, or maybe even a more interesting plot in Delta Force or Hawk's Vengeance. But overall, Cold Harvest is a solid movie from him in all regards.

2-0 out of 5 stars Wow what can I say
Well I've never seen the lead actor before and I will probably
pass on any future movies of his. He is nice to look at even the bad guy was easy on the eyes. But I would rate this movie a C- (or 2 stars) it is a low budget and came across as such.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cold Harvest--The Best ever
... I don't like too bloody movies, but this is really great! outstanding! I saw it on AXN, and I was totally glued! i gave up 1/2 an hour of swimming to watch this! This is really good! My younger bro was scared, but I think COLD HARVEST is the best of the bestest best! It's so cool and action-filled! I like this because it is action-packed, yet not that violent. Really fantastic!

2-0 out of 5 stars Someone give the director a good script . . .
Whenever I think of this movie, my mind springs back to the day when I first spotted it in my local video store in the BAD ACTION section. My friend picked it up, and exclaimed: "What does Daniels think he's playing at?" As he showed me the absurd cover with Gary Daniels doing his "Clint Eastwood" bit. The stupid cover aside, this movie zips along at a fair pace with some pretty impressive direction by Isaac Florentine (I am surprised by now that the Hollywood A list hasn't given this guy a bigger gig, what with his strong visual style and action sensibilities - he seems ideal to put the Van Dammes and Seagals' through their paces in a big budget action flick!). Daniels too jumps and kicks his way through some excellent action sequences and its always good to RE-ANIMATOR heroine Barabara Crampton in a movie now and again. Villain Bryan Genesse sleepwalks his way through the movie, in what can be described as CYBORG meets A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS.

Hmmm, can I recommend it? Well, if you like low-budget action movies, it's certainly not the worst around. The 2 stars are for the non-stop direction by Florentine and maybe half a star for Gary Daniels and his cigar-chomping stance on the video cover. If you're drawn to this movie for Daniels, check out HAWKS VENGEANCE (a better Gary Daniels movie, that is nearing somewhere in the vicinity of entertainment and RAGE, another entertaining but dumb actioner). They're all stupid, but strangely agreeable. ... Read more

Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan gives his self-mocking humor full flourish in CityHunter, adapted from a Japanese comic book. But that doesn't meanthere isn't a solid dose of action--after a brilliantly cartoonishopening, the movie settles into a half-comedy, half-thriller variation onDie Hard, in which Eurotrash terrorists have hijacked a plush oceancruise liner and super-detective Ryu Saeba (Chan) has to stop them, aidedby his lovely, love-lorn assistant (Joey Wong, A Chinese GhostStory, Green Snake) and a beautiful undercover secret agent(Chingmy Yau, Naked Killer). Though City Hunter is short onbreathtaking stunts, there's plenty of well-choreographed hand-to-handcombat. Jackie Chan's lecherous, self-absorbed character (accompanied by aparade of girls into skimpy or skin-tight outfits) come across like agleeful parody of James Bond (slightly marred by a bit of homophobia). Allin all, a high energy romp. --Bret Fetzer ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Gary D movie
Frankly, I bought this movie for one reason: Gary Daniels, who is one of the most amazingly pretty and appealing men ever created.

This movie is one of Gary's better ones. It has more of a plot than you normally get with a martial arts movie. There is an element of suspense above and beyond the martial arts cliche of loosely tying a bunch of fight scenes together and calling that a "plot". The plot isn't so fresh that you'll say "Wow, I never saw anything like that story before". But neither will you sit there thinking "Did this movie even have a script writer?". It should hold your attention throughout.

Gary looks exceptionally beautiful here, and even shows off his impressive physique somewhat in one scene. His hair style could be a little less squared-off in the bangs, but it's hard to criticize a man who is this handsome.

I'm not into martial arts per se, but I can see this one had a bit more "pizzazz" to the fight scenes than some of his other movies, so someone into martial arts will probably appreciate that aspect. There are a few "Jackie Chan" type of acrobatics to some of the fight moves, but without the usual Jackie Chan "slapstick".

If you want to see what one of the most flawlessly gorgeous men looks like, this is a good DVD to check out (although I think that Gary is even prettier in some of his other movies, due to the not-particularly-flattering hair style in this one).

5-0 out of 5 stars Perhaps THE best martial arts film ever
For pure martial arts/action flicks, Bloodmoon simply has to take the cake. Such a great story line, good acting, and stunning martial arts from a not so well known cast. Darren Shahlavi plays the evil ex champion who makes it his mission to kill high ranking martial arts champions one by one, and city by town. Thus enter Chuck Jeffreys, a police detective teamed up with an ex supercop played by Gary Daniels who must track down Shahlavi and bring him to justice. This is a HIGHLY underrated and overlooked movie which in production had a very limited budget, but delivers superb martial arts action, stunts, great storyline, and definately suspense to keep you in your seat within every single fightscene and obviously the final fight which is a superb climax to the film. In my opinion, Bloodmoon is one of the best martial arts films yet...

4-0 out of 5 stars The one and only reason
There are only three words that describe why I liked this movie: ROB VAN DAM.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bloodmoon is simply the best Martial Arts action movie ever.
I have only seen "Bloodmoon" once but that was enough to know that it is hands down the best martial arts movie ever made. The fight coreography is superb, the plot is entertaining, and the cinematography is unmatched. It is simply the most underrated movie of all time and is a must have for any true movie fan. I would recommend it to anyone!

Disclaimer: The one time I saw "Bloodmoon" I was in an altered state of mind from a mix of wild plants and herbs and this actaully may not be the greatest action movie ever. But I sure did like when I was all messed up!

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good martial arts flick
this is one the jewels among american chop socky films....the fight scenes a pretty darn good except for the weak wire work..gary daniels and "eddie murphy"(heh heh) put on a good show....but our badguy was the kind i love ,real nasty.....hey did anyone catch ron van dame? ... Read more

Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken, literally Ken theGreat Bear Fist) which premiered on Japanese television in 1984, lookslike a Saturday morning version of Mad Max starring a caricature ofSylvester Stallone. Searching for his lost love, Julia, Ken(shiro) wanders anEarth that was devastated by nuclear war. In each episode, he takes on a newsadistic motorcycle gang. (Food and water are scarce, but there's apparentlyplenty of gasoline.) In his travels, Ken acquires two sidekicks: Bart, acomic musician-thief, and Lynn, an adoring little girl. Ken is the lastmaster of secret Chinese martial arts techniques: his specialty is makingfoes blow up from the inside. In every episode, several heads explode, actions that would be quite gory if they weren't so crudely animated. (Rated13 and older, but more appropriate for 15 and older: considerable violence, profanity, grotesque imagery, alcohol use) --Charles Solomon ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad Gary Daniels
Ok, I admit that I bought this DVD just because of Gary Daniels. He's one of the most gorgeous, watchable guys filmed. I could even watch him eating corn flakes for an hour. (He's the muscular, handsome, blue-eyed blond brit on the DVD cover).

That said, this movie has a solid, if not spectacular, plot and direction. There are some fairly good actors in the production. It ain't a "hollywood blockbuster". But it also wasn't made on a shoestring budget. I understand that this movie is one in a series of similiar films, so the production company undoubtably saves money by reusing their sets and props. Maybe you don't need to see all of the movies in the series to actually have "seen" them all. But if you want to watch one to see if it's your thing, you may as well make it this one because Gary Daniels is in it.

It's an "action movie" about special military ops whose job it is to penetrate a hostile environment and thwart some terrorists who obtain a nuclear device. If that movie scenario sounds like an appealing one to you, then you'll probably like this movie. There are some martial arts skills exhibited by Gary, who is well known for his abilities at such. But there is not as much as one would see in Gary's other movies. Non martial arts fans will probably enjoy the fight scenes because of his skills, and may find it a welcome improvement over the typical fight scenes you see in these sorts of movies (ie, clumsy, unskilled fighters badly faking punches). Martial arts fans will probably be disappointed that they don't get to see Gary show off more.

You probably don't expect much in the way of character development from this movie, and you won't get it. There is a hint of some potential romantic interest between a female lead and Gary, but that is unfortunately not explored. (When are producers going to figure out that you don't put a guy with Gary Daniels' sex appeal in a movie and then not exploit that?) She even chooses another guy over Gary later on. (Yeah right. Like that's believable).

5-0 out of 5 stars One not to miss![.]
This movie and the rest of the series has single handedly fulfilled my life. I caught the last 30 minutes of Op III: Clear Target, on Showtime and as soon as it was over purchased the entire series from Amazon. Let me tell you....money WELL SPENT![.] Turns out Nu Image puts out six such [things] per year and that my friend is an undertaking. This is what happens when you build a sound stage in North Carolina. MAGIC. If they can turn this trash into a goldmine, anything is possible.
I've never laughed so hard at anything in my life. Just a word of advice, have your slow motion VCR or DVD player ready to go. The fun never stops.
And a special shout out to Op Creator Danny Lerner. Keep'em coming![.]

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible, Boring, Lame, Just A Waste Of Time !!!
This has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I don't remember the last time I turned a movie off without watching the whole thing. The acting is honestly the worse acting I've ever seen in my life, the fighting is horrible and you can tell it's more then fake. I highly doubt anyone who has seen this movie has enjoyed it. This movie was just horrible, to anyone who hasn't seen it, keep it that way, because if you try and give it a chance, you'll be mad you did.

If your wanting to see a great Gary Daniels movie, get "Hawk's Vengeance", the acting in this movie isn't bad at all, and the plot is good.

1-0 out of 5 stars They spent maybe 5 dollars TOPS making this movie
This is another reason why NOT to see movies that don't come out in the theaters. None of them are any good. The movie's storyline wasn't that bad, the acting was pathetic, the action is what I call a "spray n' pray" film (where everyone fires dozens of rounds of ammunition and no one hits a darn thing). What made me the most upset was the movie's military misconceptions, like when the weapons supervisor said "M4 carb's 12 clips per, Glocks 9mills 6 clips per," nobody can hold that many M4 clips unless they had nothing else on! The military also doesn't issue Glocks (although they should, but that's a different topic). I know these are just little things, but things get worse (if that's possible). Look at how the RPGs float to the ground during the convoy attack (they're flying like foam footballs)! What about when the main character shoots 12 mines with a revolver that holds six shots, and he doesn't reload at all! Don't buy or rent this movie, the two hours you spend watching this could be spent with something more enjoyable, like watching grass grow! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a great movie!
First off, this movie is awesome! The description on the package is pretty straight forward, but the movie isn't. Plenty of plot twists to keep you off balance. Awesome music, I wish the soundtrack was available! The fights were great, one of the fights looked like something out of a Tekken or a Dead or Alive video game. The camera work wasn't the best, the CGI wasn't great, and some of the dialogue was just bad, but all in all, this movie suprised me, and I'm so glad I got it. One major disappointment, Gary Daniels is holding a katana on the package, but unfortunately, there's no swords in the movie so you don't get to see Daniels take someone out with a sword. Also the ending was slow, and you're not quite sure what happens to his family. Buy this movie if you're an action/martial arts fan, you won't be disappointed! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars GARY GLARES
Gary Daniels tries hard.He usually plays honest, dedicated, loving, kind, etc.RAGE is no exception. And Gary is not a great actor. And this has a preposterously absurd script. But it has some really exciting action sequences..Gary drives an 18 wheeler; Gary hangs from a skyscraper; Gary goes to the mall. Here's the plot:Gary is a second grade teacher; on his way from dropping his daughter off for a party, he is carjacked by a lunatic illegal alien, running from the guys who want to use him in some government experiment.Daniels and the illegal are both captured; Gary is wanted for the experiment because he's such a superior physical specimen. They inject him with some serum that will make him a consciousless killer.Gary wakes up and kills the majority of the staff at the lab, and then he is whisked off by the potbellied sheriff and associates to a deserted site, where they plan to kill him.Gary escapes and of course is now branded a maniacal killer, and the whole world is after him.INCLUDING Kenneth Tigar and Jillian McWhirter, a tv reporter and his camera lady, who manage somehow to believe Daniels is innocent.Tigar cops an exclusive interview with Daniels quite by accident (Daniels has gone to his neighbors house to borrow his van). The crusade begins to clear Daniels, including the Governor who doesn't want the lab's experiments to hurt his re-election.Gary manages to cart his wife and daughter off to safety, then returns to face all the bad guys in a showdown at a mall.Whew!
Now along the way, here's some incredible I Can't believe this stuff:Daniels, a school teacher, now can handle an eighteen wheeler like a pro; he can dangle from buildings with amazing strength and dexterity, and even fall through a window of a flower nursery and survive; he can shoot like the best and dodge bullets like a road runner. Now, this would be fine if we knew EXACTLY what this injection was supposed to accomplish:did it make him superhuman? No, he can be shot and hurt.Did he give him the intelligence to do all the above?Who knows?
Ultimately, the movie implodes on itself and the action sequences are all that remain to earn its three stars.Director Joseph Merhi needs to study the films of Michael Bay and John Woo, to know the best way to make action films. As for Gary, he's attractive and intelligent enough to continue, and he has gotten better....at least he's got a cool accent! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun!
Ahh, Firepower, I've had this flick on an old VHS tape for years and I was Stoked to see it come out on DVD.

For a low budget action flick it's pretty entertaining, the "plot" is fairly simple, 2 cops go undercover as "Death Ring" fighters in order to uncover the wareabouts of a secret lab producing a fake AIDS vaccine, theres something about a wife who doesn't want the lead guy to be a cop anymore and a Death Ring hostess who wants out of the "Hellzone" but thats all just background noise. The real focus is the fighting, and theres lots of it! Theres some great one on one fighting to be seen in the Death Ring, as low lives battle it out for prize money while an entertaining ring announcer gives the play by play we get to see some pretty good work with the fists, feet and various weapons.

Also, one can't understate the positively glowing acting of Jim "Ultimate Warrior" Hellwig, when this man says "Get me out NOW!" boy you really feel it.

So if you're looking for some breezy fun for 90 minutes you can't go wrong with this flick. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars crowd pleasing east meets west martial arts extravaganza
Gary Daniels is not my favorite action hero, but in this film he does a very commendable job as a cop out to avenge his partner's death. It seems the yakuza and a local L.A. gang are engaged in warfare when the Yakuza send a specialist to eliminate their problems in L.A. unfotunately a mistaken identity leads Daniel's to believe that the hitman rubbed out his friend when in fact the hitman is a consumate professional who only in his own words eliminates the target and not innocents. The action is fast and furious and there is a pretty good car chase scene to keep us entertained as a corruptpolice captain also adds to the confusion betweeen the gangs as an informant for the local gang. With a few plot twists about a Japenese girl whom engages the Yakuza hitman to avenge her sisters death from a drug overdose the storyline has a nice even flow to it that makes this movie good popcorn material on a rainy day. Not a bad flick for Daniel's who actually shows here that he has a personality with a little help on character development that he gets here

5-0 out of 5 stars SEIKO is the best actress.
SEIKO is a Japanese top star.
She has even a singer.
But, the best work is being done even if it is made an actress.
Such she is only out, and I think that it is the best work.
And, neither DVD nor video is on market in Japan to this work with being disappointing.
It is very envious of being on market in America.

2-0 out of 5 stars Generic and uninspired
One of the more generic martial arts films released as of late, Fatal Blade is an uninspired and droll film that features Gary Daniels as another cliche renegade cop that plays outside the rules. Contrary to the movie's box art, Mr. Daniels hardly wields a katana in this flick, and the few action scenes which could have been somewhat gratifying are played in fast-forwards, making them appear cheesy and goofy, instead of exciting. If you're a fan of Gary Daniels (all three of you), check out some of his better performances, such as Fist of the North Star and stay away from this turkey. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars GARY AND THE HAIR CLUB
I found this in Virgin Megastore's "clearance" section and believed I had gottten a deal. Wrong!

That's kung fu actor Gary Daniels on the cover giving it his standard petulant macho So what? stare, looking like the little boy lost version of Clint Eastwood. But throughout the film he's got Fabio's golden tresses marcelled with Louis XV curls that drift before his eyes and flutter hither tither (whether in action or still)--reminded me of the coiff reserved only for abused good girls in movies by flesh merchant Andy Sidaris. Credit the production company's hairdresser for providing some, if annoying, distraction from this sad bad movie.

In a kung fu movie the story and acting are less important. "Full Impact" is true to form with its second rate story and third rate acting. Acting? All the women are good looking and well-built--after all, the movie is set in LA. Except for Gary Daniels the male actors could have been drinking buddies (one actor playing a nerd in this movie reprises his role, but with 'ludes, in "Cold Harvest") of the producer and I bet the guy who plays the police captain is someone's brother-in-law--he demonstrates just how difficult it can be to read a line before a camera. When he, as police captain in his own office, yells "Quiet. Quiet" no one responds, but maybe they forgot he is playing the commanding officer. The director and co-producer of "Full Impact", Jimmy Huey, can learn a lot from Andy Sidaris who knows how to package a film with challenged acting and potted script--he concentrates on production value and the fleshy aspects of his best-looking mannekins.

But a good kung fu movie delivers fast-paced, balletic or gymnastic action. "Full Impact" fails there too despite, incredibly, being choreographed by Gary Daniels himself. The fights look pre-WWF when fans of the 3 Stooges could have defended themselves with the semifore hand-to-nose maneuver. The final drag-out fisticuffs required that Gary be bested 6 times so that the bad guy could run away to another cheap set (actually a parking lot and then different areas of a warehouse) and most of this happened after the bad guy had been hit hard by Gary--not with his fist, but with an old car! And that is another problem with the fighting. Gary has got this guy completely outclassed, but has to use a car and a torch when the bad guy is limited to using his hands. Maybe Gary forgot the Bruce Lee code. Maybe it was Gary's way of demonstrating how pissed off he was. Maybe he is the opposite of Samson--this part of the story having been cut by the inept editor Steve Austin--that the longer Gary's hair grows the weaker he is.

Low production values added to the drudgery. Not only was the DVD grainy as a videotape, but in a one scene the set swayed unintentionally behind the actors (camera looked handheld while walking). Perhaps "Full Impact" was produced for sale to hotels for their adult channels. I read that the major hotel chains are the biggest purveyors of adult movies and that the average viewing time is 15 minutes. I am not sure which I regret more: having spent $5 to buy the movie or having spent more than 15 minutes watching it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Thats your Capitol Punishment!
Dear Gary Daniels, please never stop making movies! The wolrd would no doubt be a sader place without your epic films.

So, Capitol Punishment, never mind the cover this isn't "Gary goes to prison" I'm pretty sure the graphics guys didn't watch the movie and just assumed because the film was called "Capitol Punishment" it was a prison flick, well, it isn't. What it is almost defys explanation, Gary is some sort of fighter, ok. Gary gets taken in by DEA agents to do a mission, ok. Gary fights some guy who he's supposed to "kill" so this guy can get into witness protection with no qwestions asked....ummm...ok. After that Gary gets chased and double and then triple crossed by DEA guys, assulted by drug dealers, rouge cops, bikers, people hanging out in amusement parks, bums, and whatever extras the producers manged to give 10 bucks to to have Gary beat them into pulps. And in the end he has to face his former master turned drug lord as well as David Carradine as ...some guy with a phone. I think that was the story anyway, I would have given it just 2 stars but there are some pretty cool deaths that made me "ohh" and "ahh" Other then that if it raining out, and hailing and your xbox breaks, and all your books burn, and your phone is unhooked and you just need something to do, you might pop this baby in and try to uncover the mysteries of the universe as Gary beats down thug number 59. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Odd and depressing
I bought this movie strictly because of Gary Daniels. I find him to be an exceptionally good-looking and appealing guy, so just watching him is good entertainment for me.

This is definitely an odd movie for Gary. Gary is known for his martials arts skills, and therefore is typically in a movie where those skills are showcased. Here, he plays a character that doesn't even know how to fight. This is not a martial arts movie, but rather, a sci-fi movie. Even if you forget about the fact that it's not a typical Daniels movie, and gauge it just as a sci-fi movie, it's still a bit odd. The plot, and the movie's direction, are somewhat offbeat and jarring. (For example, I'm into sci-fi, but can't recall ever seeing in another movie something like the "dark shadow" in Spoiler. It's just weird. And the sudden disappearance of 20 years out of the main character's life is most jarring). It is also very depressing subject matter. This is definitely not a "feel-good" movie and has a very, very dark look and feel all the way through. Star Wars, it ain't. Watch this movie if you're into dark sci-fi. It was too dark for me.

More than any other movie of his to date, Gary gets an opportunity to act and stretch beyond his usual, constraining role of a revenge-seeking martial arts fighter. And he does well. Clearly, he took the part to prove he could do more, and he can.

Despite the relentless pummeling he gets, Gary looks remarkable in several scenes. (How can a guy this beautiful be unappealing to the eye?). There is one scene of him pumping iron shirtless, to showcase his outstanding physique. There's no love interest at all, which is a total waste of this man's looks, but then, given the subject matter, it makes sense to exclude it.

But mostly, you'll want to watch this movie only if you like very dark sci-fi.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spoiler shall have you spoiled!
Rodger Mason (Gary Daniels) is convicted for a crime he did not commit, and sentenced to one year in prison. Determined to return to his daughter's side, he escapes and is recaptured and frozen for 26 years and again each time he is brought out of the freezer and escapes.

It's clear to see that this movie was made on a budget,. but for those of us who like budget films, this one ia true gem. British action hero Gary Daniels is at his best, mixing comedy with some very good acting.

This movie shall have every Gary Daniels fan, well and truly spoiled!

1-0 out of 5 stars Spoiler definently spoiled!
This movie was such a waste. Here you have one of the best martial artists Gary Daniels in your movie but you have him play a regular guy and get beat up in every fight. You might as well have jet li be in a musical! This movie does have above average computer effects but even that didnt save it. Has a lame ending! If you want to see a good Gary Daniels movie see Bloodmoon , Cold Harvest, Fist of the Northstar. I think he took this role to improve on his acting ability, but we only watch his movies for action and martial arts. Hey Daniels get a better Agent! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Wincott makes the flim worthwhile
Not the most original storyline: a guy heading nowhere with his life. His only assets are his muscles which he uses in ways that don't make for an honest living. His gambling and boozing drives his finacee (Charlene Tilton) to the arms of his adversary, Rico. He cleans up his act, but must fight one last fight. Guess who wins? Wincott and Tilton are too talented for such a lame script, but Jeff Wincott's talents make up for it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad
If you've read my other reviews of Gary Daniels' movies, you'll know I'm about one thing: Gary Daniels himself. He's one of the prettiest, most watchable men on film. So I bought this DVD just to see him in it.

Sorry, but this movie is a turkey that wouldn't fly even if Frank Perdue were running after it with an axe. It is so low-budget that it appears the producer could not afford to buy a plot. It consists mostly of very darkly lit martial arts fight scenes interspersed with snippets of pointlessly meandering dialogue whose only purpose seems to get some "unknowns" their Screen Actor's Guild union cards. It's like watching Wrestlemania from the 100th row of some dark stadium, but without the benefit of dry ice smoke and shooting fireworks to alert you to the end of one fight, and start of the next.

The "acting" and "script" is so turgidly bad that it sounds like the director woke the cast up at 4 AM after all had an evening of intense alcohol consumption, shoved a camera in front of their yawning faces, and made them improvise their lines with ear muffs on so that they couldn't hear what their fellow "actors" were saying. David Carradine is listed in the credits, but he appears sporadically and randomly, and spends the majority of his time yelling into a phone at some subordinate. (I think that the director may have been filming David cursing at his agent for making him take this role).

The DVD video quality is poor -- dark, murky, and grainy as if it was a copy from a VHS tape forceably inserted into, and "played" upon, a Sony Betamax machine. It has no special features, no closed captioning, no languages other than english. It does have scene selection, but this movie is so bad that the only scene you'd want to select is the ending credits.

Ok, one good thing about it: It has Gary Daniels in it. Unfortunately, it has Gary with a pony tail and bad split ends. I guess that the producer couldn't have afforded to spend $5 sending Gary to the mall for a haircut, because that would have consumed the entire music budget which sounds like it consisted of purchasing a 1970's vintage Kraftwerk 33 1/3 vinyl LP recording and playing it on a turntable that has 16 RPM. Gary is a whole lot prettier in his other movies (and his looks have improved with age -- he's more muscular and his facial features are more handsome now than in this early movie), so skip this one unless you like pain and your dentist's drill doesn't do it for you any more. ...
