3-0 out of 5 stars For good, sleazy fun, check this fun T&A-fest out!!
I was never a huge fan of the first "Body Chemistry" and this made me not want to see the first sequel. However, I was intrigued by this entry into the already rather bland series (as erotic thrillers go, they're a tease at best, since they don't come in UNRATED editions), not only for the presences of Andrew Stevens (the hottie king of erotic smut) and Morgan Fairchild, but for the plot.

For those who don't know (and there are probably a lot who fit that category), "Point of Seduction's" plot revolves around a TV Producer named Alan Clay (Stevens) and his wife Beth Chaney (Fairchild), a soap star on a trashy nighttime soap called "Empire." Beth is looking for a magnum opus role for TV that her fans will truly remember her for, while Alan wants a production he can really sink his teeth into.

Alan hires an aspiring writer named Freddie(?) to write a script about the story of Dr. Clare Archer, a possible sociopathic radio psychiatrist who has been stalked by two of her former lovers. These supposed stalkings resulted in both their deaths. Of course, these are the two previous entries in the series.

Clare (this time played by Sherri Sattuck) objects at first, but after a night of steamy lovemaking with Alan in a hotel room after the power goes out, she gives into his ideas. And the usual trouble ensues. Is she a temptress in distress, or a heartless, bitchy murderess (gasp!)

It was SO much fun watching this corny flick, because the actors try to be so serious, but instead are wooden, melodramatic, and ultimately unconvincing. But it was intentional, to an extent, I'm sure. Also, the film was made by classic smut jockey Jim "Remove Your Tops, Please, Ladies!" Wynorski, who gave the late-night direct-to-video crowd other "gems" such as "Sorceress," and "Sins of Desire."

Soap fans will undoubtedly enjoy this, as it is a tighter 90-minute version with a LOT of flesh you'll never see on TV!

Overall rating: *** out of *****. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars With this much comic talent, it should be better than it is
I went into this film with very high hopes seeing as how it is a who's who of today's best comedic talent: Michael McKean ("Best In Show"), Kenneth Mars ("Young Frankenstein"), Howard Hesseman ("WKRP in Cincinnati"), David Rasche ("Sledge Hammer"), John Michael Higgins ("A Mighty WInd"), Henry Gibson ("Laugh In"), Robert Mandan ("Soap"), George Wendt ("Cheers"), Bob Einstein ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), Fred Willard ("Anchorman"), John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld"), & Larry Miller ("Waiting for Guffman"). In a movie about corporate fatcats and politicians escaping to a top secret getaway where they act like frat boys! All written and directed by Harry Shearer, one of the men behind "This Is Spinal Tap" and the voice of numerous "Simpsons" characters! How can you go wrong?

See this fillm and find out. With this much pedigree, it should've been wet-your-pants funny. It turned out mildly amusing. Unfortunately, all the blame rests on the usually reliable Shearer's shoulders - his humor is often very clever if not laugh out loud funny, but here it even fails to be especially clever. It's not even especially funny in a dry way. And his directions does nothing to elevate the material. The cast of pros elevates the material as much as they can, which isn't much. A disappointment. Catch it on cable, perhaps, or rent it for $1.00.

4-0 out of 5 stars YOU HAD TO BE THERE!
When I was at the Bohemian Grove. Neil Armstrong was there, just a year after he stepped on the moon. He speech by the lake was called "The Food of The Future: Oil". Honestly! Even the fat cats around me were moaning on their way back to peeing on the redwoods.

Henry Kissinger was there, too. He began his speech talking PEACE, but morphed into a comparison between our bomber fleet versus Russia's, and ours was smaller. "Vee need more bombah's".....

I was more disappointed that Armstrong never mentioned the moon once. Kissinger was predictable - he'd already bombed Cambodia.... Kissinger can't go to several countries, now, or he will be arrested.

Years and years later, Harry Shearer attended the Grove as a guest.

Perhaps if you are not into the dry humor of the Best In Show/Waiting For Guffman/Spinal Tap/Mighty Wind genre, you would never be able to "get" this movie as well.

If Mr. Barret only shares his name with the Pink Floyd founder, his perceptions (and spelling/grammar) are equally as.....psychadelic! Well, everyone to their own....perception.

Anything that pokes ANYTHING at the Bohemian Club is alright with me.

1-0 out of 5 stars *DIS-INFO ALERT*
maybe shearer thinks he is on the money , but after seeing all the evidence all I can call this is dis-information at its finest. Go watch Alex Jone's infiltration of Bohemian Grove first or read up on the grove from historians. Shearer is obviously ignorent although i do like how he tries to take swipes at Mr. Jones

5-0 out of 5 stars Best movie ever

5-0 out of 5 stars 20TH CENTURY FOX DROPPED THE BALL...
In 1993, there was a changing of the guard at 20th Century Fox and one of the film casualties was a little gem called "Freaked" (aka "Hideous Mutant Freekz").I recall the film being released in one theater in L.A. (the Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood) and it lasted maybe a week.Entertainment Weekly voted it one of the 10 best videos to be released that year.Thanks to HBO, it has become a minor cult-classic and deservedly so.

If you haven't heard the plot, here goes... Ricky Coogin (Alex Winter), a former child star of the TV series "Baker's Dozen" and the film "Ghost Dude", has been tapped to be a spokesman for EES (Everything Except Shoes) to promote an experimental fertilizer called Zygrot-24, which has been banned in the U.S. and Europe.Coogin and his sexist buddy Ernie (Michael Stoyanov, "Blossom") travel to Santa Flan (named for the patron saint of creamy desserts), where they meet up with feminist protester Julie (the very lovely Megan Ward, "Encino Man").The three stumble across Freek World, run by Elijah C. Skuggs (played to perfection by Randy Quaid).Skuggs, as it turns out, is a mad scientist who has been using Zygrot-24 to create freaks for his sideshow (played by Keanu Reeves, Mr. T and Bob Goldthwait, to name a few).

I don't want to give too much away.This is one of those films that you'll either love or hate.I will say that there are constant sight gags, so many that required viewing is almost required to catch them all.

It has always been my wish that this film would one day be discovered.Here's hoping that Anchor Bay promotes the hell out of it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Freaked! Finally on DVD!!!
Anchor Bay Entertainment just gave Fangoria Magazine the exclusive scoop on the final details of its FREAKED two-DVD special edition (now set to street July 12), along with the dual-layer cover art. Alex Winter and Tom Stern's outrageous monster comedy will be presented in 1.85:1, 16x9-enhanced widescreen (Fango got an advance peek at the transfer, which looks great), with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio. The first disc will contain the following extras:

* Audio commentary by Winter and Stern
* A conversation with co-writer Tim Burns
* Deleted scenes
* Hijinx in Freekland, a collection of behind-the-scenes footage
* FREAKED art gallery
* Theatrical trailer
* DVD-ROM original screenplay

The second disc will include:
* FREAKED: The Reehersel Version, a full-length cast rehearsal of the film, including Keanu Reeves sans Dog Boy makeup, with scenes and dialogue that never made it into the final film
* There Are No Weirdos Here, early script readings of selected scenes, featuring actors Winter, Megan Ward, Michael Stoyanov, Derek McGrath, Lee Arenberg and John Hawkes
* It's the Troll, terrifying footage of young actor Alex Zuckerman developing the character of Stuey Gluck
* Under Construkshen, behind-the-scenes video showing the creation of the Freek Land set
* Behold...The Beast Boy, footage of Winter's makeup transformation into a hideous mutant freek
* Two short films by Winter and Stern, SQUEAL OF DEATH and THE NYU SIGHT AND SOUND PROJECT

The set will also come with a "freekish" booklet containing liner notes and photos.

This is going to be AWESOME!!! I've been waiting years for this to be released on DVD.Pre-order NOW!

1-0 out of 5 stars Forgotten Trash
This movie will never leave my mind sadly. In the mid 90's this movie was always on basic cable and any other channel that would have it. I hated the movie then and for the first time in almost nine years I watched it again on basic cable at 2 in the morning. I still got that sick feeling I had in the 90's from watching this movie. There is no time in life no era in human existence that this movie should be watched. I'm sure most of the other reviewers will say that I don't understand gross out humor that I lack some knowledge that one gets from watching horrible movies that you can laugh about with your friends. I on the other hand would disagree. 1/4 of my DVD collection is filled with movies along the lines of Riki-Oh, Meet the Feebles, Bubba Ho-Tep and Cannibal the Musical. So to say that I don't understand gross out humor is a failed argument. The sad thing is that even though this movie is not on DVD and hopefully will never be, the writer and director win in the end by having this movie forever in my mind

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey, it's my Bar Mitzvah!
This is a movie that will live on in cult status for years only to be discovered by the masses decades from now. I'm pleased that this is the kind of humor that I find appealing and not the crapulence that makes up most mainstream "comedies." We all knew that this movie was funny as hell once we saw the wrench/hammer bit, but the moment the Machismo commercial was over I realized what a lucky (...) I was to be viewing this masterpiece. I can not convey the abject sense of loathing and contempt I feel towards the executives at Twentieth Century Fox for not having released this film on DVD. Do they have a pack of inept degenerates running the place? Perhaps their minds are as bent and twisted as their souls? Yes, that feels closer to the truth to me. I can see it now, a gang of roving sadists who delight in beating the retarded and telling people that if they vote it will somehow matter. Well well, we will see who gets their nipples twisted over this injustice my friends. We need an uprising, because we are all slowly being screwed and I don't feel a condom.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the funniest film that nobody really saw.
Today at work I was thinking about this film and I started laughing out loud when I remembered the part about the wrench that was turned into a hammer. All the customers in my store looked at me like I was a freak. This movie never really got it's moment in the sun. If it had there would definetly allready be a dvd for it. Come on FOX!!!!!!!!Your killing me over here. ... Read more

Holy Man could have been a stellar satire in the tradition ofFrank Capra, George Stevens, or Preston Sturges. Instead, this well-meaning romantic comedy was bluntly written by Tom Schulman (Dead Poets Society) and broadly directed by Stephen Herek, who fared better with his 1995 drama Mr. Holland's Opus. Their good intentions shine through, however, and while it's easy to appreciate Eddie Murphy's attempt to shift his career in a more substantial direction, Holy Man delivers some pointed criticism of commercialism and its deadening effect on spiritual well-being.

Murphy plays an enlightened eccentric named "G" (for "guru" or "God"?) who rises to national celebrity when he's enlisted to host a TV shopping network. Jeff Goldblum and Kelly Preston play the show's producer and marketer, respectively, and their formulaic romance provides the movie's lackluster subplot. With skyrocketing ratings and a flurry of cameos by celebrity hucksters (Morgan Fairchild, Florence Henderson, Dan Marino, and even James Brown), G delivers preachy platitudes urging America to stop buying and embrace the finer values of life and love (a hollow message coming from Disney, the most conspicuously commercial of all major Hollywood studios). To its credit, Holy Man occasionally achieves a delicate balance of comedy and commentary, and receptive viewers will be grateful, at a time when crude comedies rule the box office, that someone bothered to try. For that reason, this flawed movie deserves to be seen. --Jeff Shannon ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars OK Murphy flick
In this Film, Ricky (Goldblum) is an executive who has two weeks to
build up profits for a home shopping network (run by Loggia). To help him
out, Loggia teams him up with Kate (Preston). That day, they have a flat
tire and literally run into "G" (Murphy) on the side of the road. Ricky takes
him home & they become friends.
Soon after, Ricky asks "G" if he'll be on his show since he thinks it
could help him. Kate thinks so as well. So, "G" is now a part of the
network. And what Ricky had hoped for, happens. "G" makes sales boom
by giving the callers wise advice and inspiration. He doesn't push them to
buy products, but tells them to be happy with what they have, and as a result,
they buy and buy and buy more.
This movie has all of the ingredients to be a big hit. Eddie Murphy
can't help but be hilarious, and with his shaved head, white robes, and
sincere holiness, he certainly beats John Travolta and Denzel Washington in
their recent "angel-like" roles. Jeff Goldblum is perfect in the role as the
cynical, materialistic media person who eventually understands the wisdom
imparted to him by "G".
However, who is this mysterious "G"? Is he God? Is he a Gandhi
type of person? This becomes a distracting, going nowhere, letdown. It's as
if the director gave up somewhere along the way.
The predictable romance between Goldblum and Preston is,
well....predictable.
I enjoyed this movie, but I don't think I would pay to see it a second
time. Therefore, I would grade this PG movie a charitable B- grade.

4-0 out of 5 stars Take the journey...
I thought this was a very cute show. Eddie Murphy can play any part well. I think it is great to see him share his talents with a larger audience. He is still very charming and entertaining without the bad language and adult humor. Goldblum was good also as well as the rest of the cast. The movie starts out a bit awkward then takes right off. G (Eddie Murphy) is gifted with the ability to touch the hearts of others. He hypnotize's a man to help him overcome his fears, does magic tricks, and brings people closer together. The more you are around him the more his strange ways grow on you. It's not a long show and worth watching at least once. Go ahead ...take the journey.

1-0 out of 5 stars Two hours of my life ... lost forever
I saw this movie at a free advance screening. Not walking out was one of the biggest regrets of my life. I look back on the two hours I spent in the theater that night as some kind of delirious and miserable fever dream. Anyone who likes this movie is either brain damaged, Ned Flanders, or a little bit of both.

1-0 out of 5 stars 1 star is too much
I made the assumption that Eddie Murphys films are bound to be funny and worth watching. This film proved me wrong.

4-0 out of 5 stars 1970's Nasville Murder Mystery with Tom Selleck
CONCRETE COWBOYS is a very funny movie set in 1970's Nashville starring Tom Selleck and Jerry Reed(Country Music Artist and Co-star of Smokey and the Bandit Movies). Selleck and Reed are a couple of con-artist cowboys from Montana who end up in Nashville in the adventure of their lives.

The movie starts with Selleck and Reed playing a game of poker at a truck stop, where Reed gets them beat up and chased out of town. They hop a freight-train where they wind up in Nashville, Tennessee. Coincidentally, Reed has a friend that lives in Nashville that he calls to find a place to stay. The guy that Reed calls happens to be going out of town and lets them stay at his apartment and drive his corvette, which is very convenient for these two traveling hobos. Selleck and Reed come to find out that this guy is a private detective and they take a case to find a missing girl. Along the way they meet several country music stars such as Roy Acuff and Ray Stevens. I won't give away the suprise ending or any of the twists that befall these two lovable losers, but you won't be dissapointed.

Tom Selleck and Jerry Reed are great as cowboy buddies taking a murder case while posing as private detectives. Jerry Reed is the conniving slick one of the pair while Tom Selleck is the somewhat dumb one, but he does carry a set of encyclopedias with him throughout the entire movie so he can "get himself some learnin".

This is a great movie for anyone that likes country music, since it is full of songs by Jerry Reed, live performances by Ray Stevens, and other country songs of the late 70's. Also, this movie is a great look at all the Nashville landmarks like the Opryland Hotel, Parthenon, and Country Music Hall of Fame. I first saw this movie at about 1:00 in the morning on TBS a few years ago, and having lived in the Nashville area all my life it was funny to see the city 25 years ago. Plus it is only $5.00 so what's really stopping you from buying it...trust me you'll like it even if its just for the cheesiness.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Nice Story, Well Acted with a Good Feel
This is one of those movies that really can't be catagorized by Comedy/Drama/Suspense..etc. 'Campus Man' is a low-budget story produced in the times of Good-Natured movies directed at teenaged audiences (A dying breed of film by now). The movie features 'Touched By and Angel's' John Dye, Morgan Fairchild and a young model named Steve Lyon who appears in this..one of his only two movies. A young entrepreneur-to-be (John Dye) spends his last year at Arizona State University struggling to come up with the perfect marketing idea that will secure his future. He invests his new idea of a 'male calender for women' in his long-time friend and classmate (Steve Lyon), a handsome and promissing young diver for the school. When a tough buisness shark (Morgan Fairchild) and an outlaw loan officer put weight on his shoulders, he is forced to mend the damage to his friendship with Brett choose between a great deal of money and getting Brett's diving scholorship back. It's an 'Alex P. Keaton' type story which was popular in the 80s', very well done by all four lead actors with comedy and mild drama that makes it a nice summer vacation movie. It falls into the same catagory as 'Summer School', 'The Allnighter', and 'One Crazy Summer' and it's worth a try if you're a fan of 'beach-comedy' type stories from the 80s'.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cinematic Classic!
My girlfriend originally wanted to rent James Cameron's Titanic, but instead I argued for one of Ron Casden's more controversial works. Boy are we glad we decided on this. For the girls, this movie has John Dye, and for the gents, need I say more than Kathleen Willhoite? This uproarious comedy has you in stitches while still tugging at your heart-strings with its many twists and turns. Morgan Fairchild also makes a guest appearance as the editor of a magazine, now that's star power!!! This movie makes you feel great, case in point the now infamous high five scene at the end ; ). Side note for you movie buffs, Bob G. Anthony turns in an early stellar performance as the loan officer. Breath taking. If you're looking for an hilarious comedy that really makes you think and keeps you on your toes the whole way through...DROP EVERYTHING!!! and BUY this movie today!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good College Movie
The movie is a comedy/Thriller non horror movie, When i say non horror thriller, another words you wonder what is going to happen next. The movie is about a college student who needs to come up with $10,000 in 30 days for tution or he will be thrown out of college. He comes up with an idea to make a Sports pin up calander with college boys on it. He borrows $12,000 from a loan shark to start his project but with a %30 interest rate. He has to come up with $25,600 in 30 days OR ELSE.

I REALLY LIKED THIS DVD,BECAUSE IT IS JUST SUCH A NICE INNOCENT PLOT,KEEPS YOU INTERESTED,NICE DRY COMEDY,ALSO FOR NOT VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS I THINK THEY DID VERY WELL ACTING JOBS.I JUST WANTED TO KEEP WATCHING, NO SLOWNES TO THE MOVIE. WOULD BE A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE FOR ALL AGES. THE MOVIE IS ABOUT A YOUNG NERDY BOY THAT SO DESPERATLY WANTS TO BE POPULAR AND GET HIS DREAM GIRL TO NOTICE HIM AND DATE HIM,SO HE MADE A DEAL WITH THE DEVILS HELPER,AND AFTER THE DEAL HE IS POPULAR,BUT IT MIGHT NOT BE WHAT HE WANTED AFTER ALL. NO REAL VIOLENCE, IF YOU LIKE COMEDIC
INNOCENT FAMILY ORIENTED MOVIES BUY IT! BAM FROM SASKATCHEWAN,CANADA
