Confirming the testosterone-laced promise he showed in the earlier Drive, the charismatically lithe Mark Decascos stars as buff man-of-the-cloth Father Luke, whose plans for a successful food drive are put on hold when a covert kill squad forces him to confront his shadowy past in this surprisingly effective bullet ballet. The needlessly complex high-tech story line may be somewhat shaky, but this adrenalized conspiracy thriller earns its wings by virtue of a strong cast (including a villainous Jaimz Woolvett, miles away from his role as the greenhorn gunslinger in Unforgiven), an impressively stylized lighting palette, and a jawdroppingly gonzo epilogue that cries out for--nay, demands--a sequel! Director Tibor Takacs was previouslyresponsible for two unfairly forgotten '80s horror gems The Gate and I, Madman. This nicely rendered DVD is presented in a pan-and-scan format only, but does feature production notes, a cast and crew bio, and an exceptionally lively sound mix. Recommended for viewers eager to add a little red meat to their cinematic diet. --Andrew Wright ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Ah. I spent to much to rent this
I was expecting this movie to be great considering this was the guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf. What a disappointment. I fast forward through alot but still couldn't bring myself to finish watching it. The plot is slow and the actions sequences look like a TV shows.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could have been better, Sorry Guys!!!!!
I thought that this movie was slow I expected more martial arts and a lot better story line from this movie, having read all the reviews on this I thought that I was going to see this awesome movie but I was wrongly mistaken.

This movie had the potential there but it lost it and was quite confusing in bits as well as being slow.

My recommendation is to see the movie first before you buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars To Be or Not to Be?
This is a movie that requires you to sit and watch. NO leaving the room for more soda or pop corn or you will get lost! This is not your usual muscle man/beat'em up movie. It's a thought provoker, which is what I like about this movie. But you still get the action that Mark Dacascos is famous for...but he gets to stretch his acting muscles too. As for the title I chose for my review, it's as thought provoking as the movie. In the end; this is the choice that Mark's character(Father Luke) must make! After renting it, bought it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mark Dacascos best overall movie to date!!!
Without a doubt this is Mark's most complete movie to date. The intricate plot, stylish flashbacks, and unique camera angels, makes this more than your average straight to video. Tibor Tackas shows a very good touch. The ending begs for a sequel, and I would pay money to see it in the theater if one were to be made. This is the type of movie that Mark is able to show the moves that have made him the envy of the action genre actors, and object of desire from female fans, but he is also is allowed to actually act and show depth. Tibor Tackus should be thanked for giving us more Mark than I have seen in his previous movies to date, except for "Only The Strong", which I like equally as well as this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review
This has got to be one of the best thriller-suspense movies that I have been priveleged enough to see in quite some time. Mark Dacascos shows both his acting ability (from killer to priest) and his martial arts capabilities in this 'secret agency' thriller. The ending is what will get anybody and everybody. This is a must see for anyone who loves action and thrills. It's even good for those men who love for things to explode. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great unknown movie
New Blood was a very good movie and deffinetly didn't get enough credit. If your looking for a good exiting movie to get, id deffinetly go with this. The acting was very good, and the standout of the cast was deffinetly Carrie Anne Moss, who was funny, mysterious, and of course beautiflu all at the same time.
If you want to see a good underated movie, you have to see the New Blood!

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Guy Ritchie?
I caught this on Cinemax and thought it was another Guy Ritchie sequel to "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". I was surprised that it wasn't, but no matter. It's good fun, especially not knowing what's really happening until the very end. Its plot may be implausible -- and having a kid smart enough to pull off something like this, but still only a punk car thief -- but you'll believe every twist and turn.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good movie!
I gotta question. There are scenes where they wore black masks, does anyone know what the masks are called or where I can purchase one???

4-0 out of 5 stars Twisted but great!
Ok, first of all I have to say this was a great movie! This movie takes you on an awesome ride full of twists and turns. In the beginning of the movie, Moran's character (a young doomed theif) arrives at his father's(played by Hurt)home after being shot, and with an offer he knows his father will not refuse. Moran's character's reason for concocting this plan, is to save his friend from death. During the entire movie your trying to figure out which story that moran's character told is true. Hurt and moran's characters seem to be caught in their own tangle of hate and distrust, that only seems to untangle when each is facing death. Close to the end of the movie I was left wandering if anyone would survive. For those who have not yet seen the movie I won't say who lives or dies, just that the ending is totally twisted. I recomend this movie to anyone who likes movies full of shoot-outs, lots of twists, double-crosses, and that don't mind movies that are somewhat dark. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent and Disturbing
This is a thought-provoking and deeply disturbing film that examines the confrontation between weak minds and an uncaring world. Tom McCamus turns in a flawless performance as Henry Adler, the non-entity actor who wins a part in a cop show. At first, he draws strength from his macho cop character, but then - well, I won't say any more. See it for yourself - at least twice. This one is bizarre, but it's worth the trouble. Recommended.

2-0 out of 5 stars Should have been better
The story seemed interesting to me which is why I picked up this DVD, but it fell short of my expectations. McCamus does a decent job in the lead role, but that's about it. The story is about an actor who plays a cop. He becomes so obsesses in his part that he starts acting out his role in the streets. The scenarios that he was put in were dull and the plot was undeveloped. Overall there was nothing new and nothing special.

5-0 out of 5 stars An honest psycho-drama . . .
Tired of watching dishonest suspense? A MAN IN UNIFORM will restore your faith in the fine art of mystery. It is an honest psycho-drama. Why is it that Canada is able to give us good movies in B packages? The script was excellent. The writers were faced with a problem of writing a script withing a script. They did a banging good job. The "cop" lead by Tom Mc Camus was played superbly. Five stars for Brigitte Bako's stupendous performance.

4-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
Interesting plot, and very well acted for the most part. Somewhat lackluster production value, but I guess that's not too exceptional from an indie film. Anyone who liked Taxi Driver or Fargo should definately watch this film! ... Read more
