5-0 out of 5 stars Great thriller
This is one of my favorite movies. It's a thriller and both Alyssa and Justin do an excellent job in it. It's exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The villains are kind of funny, in an evil way. It has some twists and the background to the story is really great, the setting is a mansion of a family who has a great artwork collection. There are no real extra's on this but it's an independent film and you don't really need them.

3-0 out of 5 stars NICE LITTLE ACTION FILM WITH A CLEVER ENDING
DANIEL [JUSTIN THEROUX], WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND [ALYSSA MILANO] VISITS HIS FAMILY FOR THANKSGIVING. BUT DURING DINNER, A VICIOUS GANG OF THIEVES [LED BY ICE-T] BREAK INTO THE HOUSE, KILL OFF DANIEL'S FAMILY, AND STEALS HIS FAMILY'S ART. BEING THAT DANIEL AND HIS GIRLFRIEND ARE TRAPPED IN THE BASEMENT, THEY MUST FIND A WAY TO ELIMINATE THE KILLERS. NOTHING SPECIAL, BUT IT'S AN OK LITTLE ACTIONER. WHAT HAPPENS IN THE END IS TRULY SHOCKING.

5-0 out of 5 stars Body Count Is A Great Suspence and Action Film.
I rented this movie and I thought it was one of the best movies that I had ever seen. It's a great action film with an all-star cast that keeps wondering what's going to happen next. It is definitely one that I have to add to my movie collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars final payback
Final payback is a must have suspense, action thriller. From the opening titles to the climactic ending the film takes several twists and turns. It is inspired by the recent "LAPD Rampart" scandal. The lead Joey Randall, brilliantly played by Richard Grieco is a washed up ex-cop who is framed for a muder he didn't commit. He sets out to redeem himself with the police and rogue group of cops after him. Grieco plays a flawed yet noble character in his quest to find the truth and clear his name. Veteran actor Martin Kove plays Police Captain James, who does whatever it takes to maintain the integrity of the force and rid the city of what he considers scum. Randall and James find themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse with Randall being the hunted. In the end The hunted becomes the hunter and this leads to a rollercoaster ride to find the real killer and exact justice. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Horror/Comedy that actually works!
In spite of its generic title, "The Backlot Murders" turns out to be a pleasant surprise. It's an often hilarious film that pokes fun at traditional slasher films while serving up some chills on its own.
Through some fortunate circumstances a down on its luck rock band(featuring former teen heartthrob Corey Haim as the guitarist) gets to film its first video on the Universal Studios back lot. The video's director is played by the scene stealing Charles Fleischer, who is so hilarious in this role it's a wonder he doesn't get more work. Some of his lines(particularly in his scenes with Priscilla Barnes, as the band's manager) had me laughing out loud.
Soon, the band and the video crew start getting bumped off by a masked killer. Is it the band's former bass player, who was unceremoniously dumped shortly before they landed their big break? Maybe... I'm not telling.
"The Backlot Murders" is a welcome change of pace over other slasher films with a similar premise that take themselves too seriously. If you're looking for a slice 'n dice bloodbath, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an entertaining horror/comedy, then look no further. "The Backlot Murders" delivers.

1-0 out of 5 stars BARNES IS NOBLE
Okay, this movie is really, really bad....most of the acting is unbelievably horrid; the script is derivative and ludicrous (they even steal a murder right out of the original Friday the 13th), and the writer obviously thinks the F word needs to be in every other sentence; the girls are breasty to say the least, but bimbos one and all. Even Corey Haim, virtually unrecognizable, is wasted. In spite of some pretty funny references to slasher movies and such, this movie is far down on the horror food chain. Except for..and here's what's funny...Priscilla Barnes as the bitchy band manager (looking nothing like the model she once was) is outstandingly hammy and cool; she obviously was having a good time. And Charles Fleischer as the flaming video director delivers many unbelievable lines with a strength and beauty only a true professional could muster.
But, folks, rent it...don't buy it like I Did!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon owes me a star.
Lets see. Acting- Sucked, Plot-Sucked, Gore- NONE. My time would have been better spent sifting through dog vomit.

3-0 out of 5 stars Watch only if a Priscilla Barnes fan
The only reason I sat through this cute but pathetic horror movie is because I love Priscilla Barnes (Three's Company). It's basically about a rock band whose manager decides to promote the band by killing all the members, throwing in a fired crew memember who wants revenge along with her. Priscilla is that maniacal manager, and her gift for comedy really shows through - she makes a very funny killer. The rest of the time she's pretty snitty and generally not likeable, but I still enjoyed her performance. The movie itself is really, really sad and not worth sitting through unless a major Priscilla fan.

3-0 out of 5 stars review
i picked up this movie tonight because 1. corey haim was in it and 2. it was a horror flick. this movie was ok. it certainly wasn't anything spectacular. it was entertaining. the snyopsis on the back cover reads like the film is a pschological- who-dun-it-twist kind of a movie but frankly it was kind of obvious half way through (but it kept me guessing just because i was looking for all the red herrings and tricks). i gave it three stars for the effort, really. i think david defalco and his crew are talented enough to make a decent movie, this one was only te begining what they can accomplish i think. i did like how they had characters mentioning all the "classic" horror films that deal with characters, emotions, and the psychological parts of real horror as opposed to the recent seaboard of slasher flicks today. even tho after the charcters continued complaining about how horror movies latly are cheesy, gritortous nudity and cheesy gore effects and then following what is happening around them is exactly that, i thought that was amusing on how they have a little tonuge-in-cheeck and making fun of themselves (at least i think). id recommend u give this a viewing (on DVD, if anything; it has some features) if u r in the mood 4 some fun horror, just nothing that will prevent u from going to sleep w/ the lights out, just good fun. o, props to priscilla barnes and especially charles fleischer for their roles as well. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars a great B-movie with a fine A-story
Being carried away by its horror & suspense, you may regret Extramarital is only played by B-actors & -actresses. However, this movie deserves a much more positive attitude: Traci Lords excels throughout, and is strongly supported by her three male co-actors. The four of them make 'Extramarital' keep you on the edge of your seat, from start to finish. Its flavor reminds me of Paul Verhoeven's great 'Basic instinct' (1992, with Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone).

2-0 out of 5 stars Well...
You know, with a little more work, this could've been a pretty good thriller. Watch it and you'll see what I mean--all the pieces are there, they just don't get used quite right. It's like watching the rough draft of a better movie. Traci Lords, meanwhile--you get the sense she could carry her weight in a better movie. If you're a big fan of her recent career, go ahead and spring for this dvd.

4-0 out of 5 stars A really nice flick!
Traci Lords has long remained one of my favorite screen stars: Here she proves herself the actress that she is! She should be a recognized star, and in this not-bad movie I really got involved in the film by her very good acting. Traci is regrettably carrying the show in this film; it's really a very sexy movie and not uninteresting, but suffers from some low-budget problems. I felt that the direction was competent but unexciting. Despite that and some logistical issues, I found myself very involved and sympathetic to the life of the most beautiful woman chained into an unfufilling relationship that had lost its passion. The part of the plot that I felt the most strongly about was not the "murder mystery", but rather the conflict between the lead role's ambitions and intelligence and the domestic blandness imposed on her by a marriage gone sour. Traci must be very smart and has always been successful: Her album "1,000 Fires" did great and songs from it appeared in many films; she's a fine and often overlooked actress of the silver screen. She was wonderful in "Profiler" and is now involved in a new Sci-Fi series, "The First Wave". I hope that she is recognized for her dedication. I'm pleased to see that she is finally getting more interesting material. In this movie, she steals the show.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tracy Lords does a fantastic acting performance in this film
This movie is about a Young Woman who is following her dreams of becoming a writer, but she experiences tough obstacles to obtain her goals. In the beginning of the film she plays a news reporter who is working for this Rock type/alternative magazine, and her first job assignment is to interview a woman who is cheating on her husband, with another man who is "Bob". The Actor who plays "Bob" is Brian Bloom.

This movie has a great plot, and all the actors do a Fine Perfomance: Tracy Lords, Maria Diaz, Brian Bloom,& Jeff Fahey (Lawn mower man). I recommend this movie to all, it is quite good, it has mystery, and suspense. I also have to say that Tracy Lords is very pretty; The protagonist of the movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars No Traci nudity but mucho hot
I really need lunch, so you can bet that writing this review is important to me if I am putting off lunch to do it. So here goes:

This is an erotic thriller, so you would expect Traci to be naked. But you see, she won't do nude scenes now. At least that's what she says. Why? I guess she figures that we've seen enough of her, and if you want to see her nude you have to buy Traci I Love, and let me tell you, she's a hell of a lot more than just nude in that one.

Not that there isn't plenty of nudity in Extramarital (there is), and not that Traci still isn't the sexiest woman in the world (she is). And she's sort of nude: no nipples, but plenty of ... panty and hands-on-breasts sort of shots.

So if you are a Traci fan, go for it. ... Read more
