5-0 out of 5 stars I Love this Film!
AND GOD SPOKE is my favorite movie ever. But don't let that stop you from seeing this great film. This movie is put together very well. Its funny, but not exactly "ha ha" funny. Aside from the hidden social commentary, this movie is full of cameos from worthless washed-up celebrities. My favorite is Soupy Sales as Moses. The plot isn't mindboggeling. Two second rate filmmakers try to make an epic picture about The Bible (the "All time best seller"). Their ineptitude and pride get in the way of any progress. The multi-million dollar film gets dropped by the studio and the two finish it independently.

I can't say enough about this movie. The humor is subtle at times and slapstickish at other times. At its very least, AND GOD SPOKE is an entertaining parody of a Hollywood that few of us will ever see.

5-0 out of 5 stars "...And God Spoke" spoke to ME!
Great little sleeper of a movie that seems to be gaining cult status. When Matthew Perry ("Friends") was once asked about "Waiting for Guffman" (another mockumentary released about the same time) he said there a much funnier one out there called... you guessed it..."...And God Spoke." Well-written, with a lot of inside jokes about the kind of very low-level Hollywood film-making you don't hear much about on ET... the straight to video kind...that will still amuse people not "in the business."

When two extremely low budget film-makers are suddenly blessed with a $40 million dollar budget to make a Biblical Epic for a major studio, they find themselves WAY over their heads at the first call of "ACTION!" It's all downhill from there (for them, not for the audience) Extremely well-written, hilarious movie, adequately directed. Got kind of lost in the bigger press surrounding "Guffman," but like I said, seems to be gaining a large cult following.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie, But Why Is The DVD in Full Screen?
This is a great movie. I could only give it 4 stars when comparing it to This Is Spinal Tap. But it is as good as Fear Of A Black Hat and better than Best In Show.

BUT WHY IS IT IN FULL SCREEN?

Under Special Features it lists "Full Screen Version." I read that as an "extra" feature...but no! This DVD only contains the Full Screen Version.

Then on the bottom of the DVD it says "Formatted From Its Original Version To Fit Your Screen" and then it says "Presented in 1.33:1 format in which the film was shot." How could it be shot in 1.33:1 when it was shot on 35mm and 16mm? And why would it need to be "formatted to fit your screen" if it was shot in 1.33:1?

Anyway. It's a good movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars The "Spinal Tap" of the film industry
This sadly underrated film, while not quite the standard of perfection that is "This is Spinal Tap", boldly goes into the mockumentary arena with a jab at the film industry. A film-making team--comprised of a director and producer whose resumes consist primarily of ultra-forgettable, less-than-B movies--basically are stricken with oversized egos and attempt to make the ultimate Bible epic. Of course, during the process everything goes wrong (think of the "stonehenge" debacle in Spinal Tap). For those not familiar with this film, I think an example or two may be in order just as a teaser:

--"Does anybody know how many disciples there were?"

--As the budget starts getting tight on the production, they start cutting out major portions of the story, and nearly decide to cut Jesus out of the picture entirely!!!

--The actor who plays Abel (none other than scrawny Andy Dick) thinks that his character actually wins the fight with Cain (played by Lou "The Hulk" Ferrigno), and is excited to finally be playing a "tough guy" after consistently playing nerdy characters in his film career. Then, of course, he learns the truth....

The main problem, as evidenced by the examples, is that nobody involved in the film production actually has any real knowledge of what it is they are filming. I think that should give you some idea of the utter chaos which that creates.
This is an absolutely HILARIOUS film, and deserves much more recognition from the entertainment world. Until then, this cult classic is definitely worth a watch, and its appearance on dvd is a "godsend" (sorry, hadda do it...). ;-)

4-0 out of 5 stars "We'll fix it in post"
I love this movie and have been waiting for it to come to DVD for awhile. It's a 'mockumentary' about a director/producer team and their efforts to make a biblical movie and follows them from the movies' inception to its' 'big' premiere. One of the more endearing aspects of this movie is how clueless the producer and director are to how awful their movie is, during filming and watching dailies and how hard they struggle to keep it going, even after their studio funding dries up.

If you like 'This is Spinal Tap', 'Waiting for Guffman', or 'Best in Show', then you will enjoy this movie. I don't want go into details, as that would give away the jokes, but just rent of buy this movie.

I was a little disappointed that this movie was only available in the full screen format, but it's still better than my worn VHS copy. Also, there are no extras on this DVD...I mean none, not even a trailer. I would have liked to seen some production notes or something, but there you go. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars glossy and hot
A definite must-see for fans of Monique Parent (count me in!)and glossy soft-core in general. Beautiful people, beautiful setting, plenty of action (at least in the unrated version). Especially nice girl-girl scene with Monique and Lauren Hays. Amoung the better Eros offerings out there, if a notch below their best, like "Hollywood Sins."

4-0 out of 5 stars I need to buy a winery
I'm a big fan of Monique Parent, and as usual, she doesn't dissappoint. The plot is simple (just how it should be for films like these). Big city girl rescues a failing winery, and along the way everyone gets naked and does everyone. In short, it's perfect. As with all of the Playboy Eros titles, the girls are hot and the action is grand. Watch the unrated version for some extra sizzle. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect.
Lauren Hays plays a hot divorce attorney who seems to do her job well, but is pretty bad at managing the financial stuff. But she's hot. She represents a woman whose ex-husband has gotten famous selling "better sex" books and videos. But the woman claims he stole the ideas from her. It's your standard courtroom drama stuff, but with a huge dash of stupidity. The "brilliant" way that Lauren eventually wins the case would've been lame even in a Scooby Doo cartoon.

The story is plenty sufficient to justify eight sex scenes. Seven are boy/girl and one is girl solo (Lauren). Lauren is also in two of the other scenes. Her scenes are the best, but the other five are good as well. All are full sex scenes that get taken to completion. The actors and actresses are always audible without the music covering everything up. The women have some great orgasms in this one.

In addition to Lauren, there are five other women: Beverly Lynne, Alison Miller, Stephanie Swift, Andrea St. James, and Kylie Wyote (get it, "Kylie Wyote", "Wile E. Coyote"). All are attractive and give good performances. Monique Parent makes a couple of cameo appearances but doesn't participate in any sex scenes.

But it could have been better. This video makes the same mistake that's too common in softcore. It gets off to a great start, then loses its momentum. The first six sex scenes all occur during the first hour of the video, one every ten minutes. But in the remaining forty minutes, there are only two more scenes. There's also no lesbian scene. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Sickening and depraved
I think I'm "one and done" with supposedly legendary director Jess Franco. I watched this movie because of its "Most Dangerous Game"-inspired ending, and I don't want anyone else to go into this film with as little knowledge as I had about what you will see. I knew there was "debauchery" in the movie, but this goes well past debauchery into the realm of true sickness. Everything seems OK at first. Paula is a young actress or performer of some sort who auditions for some type of less than virtuous job and soon finds herself on her way to a private island where she will "entertain" a number of lecherous rich folks. At the house, they are greeted (much more than merely greeted, actually) by a strapping young woman (whom I suspect was once a man) who does not speak simply because she doesn't want to. Okay. The first sign of depravity comes when this woman furnishes a disgustingly personal ingredient for the evening meal. You'll want to prepare yourself for this (or better yet, avoid it entirely by never watching this movie); I can tell you it is no fun to come up on this scene unawares. Later, young Paula is rather viciously abused. Finally, after several incredibly long and drawn-out scenes of no importance whatsoever, I made it up to the human prey segment and hoped for a little something positive to take away from this movie. There was nothing at all positive about it. To top things off, having already included just about every depravity known to man in the film, they introduce yet another hideous practice at the very end. As I said, I knew this movie was a little extreme, but had I known just how extreme it actually was (and in what way it was extreme) I would never have watched it.

Aside from the horrible story, the acting is just awful. Amber Newman does a good job in her unfortunate role as Paula, but the rest succeed only in being weird, distasteful, and depraved. Lina Romay, who is obviously fairly old and extremely unappealing, was by far the worst of the bunch, and her dialogue was completely unintelligible. She sounds like a drunken Charo trying to talk with a handful of walnuts in her mouth-I have no idea what she said at any point in the film. I am a big fan of extreme horror, so I am unaccustomed to being sickened by a movie. Tender Flesh sickened me, and I will avoid any and all Jess Franco movies like the plague from now on.

1-0 out of 5 stars I was NOT impressed.
Jess Franco's got this great reputation for making unusual, interesting, and wonderful films, but I've yet to see one I liked! Quite frankly, they're just bad.

Amber Newman is very cute as the girl .... And Monique Parent certainly has that sensual, seductive quality about her as the woman in charge of the hunt. But the casting in "Tender Flesh" is as good as it gets. The storyline as played out on the screen is neither interesting nor even erotic. There's one scene, for example, where pretty little Amber is whipped and then massaged by a beautiful, slightly older woman. Sounds both kinky and sexy, doesn't it? But it's NOT! Somehow even a should-have-been sizzling scene like that comes across as flat in this film...I don't know how he did it, buy Jess Franco ruined what should have been a great flick!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tender Flesh
The wild and wonderful world of Jess Franco may not be to everyone's tastes, but those even vaguely familiar with his work should check out this film at the earliest opportunity. Here, the gorgeous Amber Newman plays a young actress who must satisfy the dark desires of her potential employers in order to progress. Newman is certainly put through the hoop by her new admirers before the action moves to a remote island where Franco's twisted take on "The Most Dangerous Game" really kicks in.

As with many Franco films, "Tender Flesh" contains a few scenes that outstay their welcome but, overall, this is terrific stuff and must rank as one of his most erotic features. Of course, Franco's excellent cast contribute immeasurably, blending 'old friends' (Lina Romay, Analia Ivars and Alain Petit) with new Franco babes Newman and Monique Parent to winning effect. As far as the latter two are concerned, it's great to see two American actresses successfully converted to Franco's European scheme of things. Indeed, Amber and Monique fit in so well, it's easy to get carried away with the notion that "Tender Flesh" could slot into the director's extremely productive 1980's output; it certainly wouldn't look out of place.

Extras on the disc include a stills gallery, a nice Amber video shoot and a 51 minute making-of documentary that is a model of it's kind and alone is worth absolutely every cent of the asking price. For a low budget production, picture quality is above average, though the sound occasionally lets the side down (Ms Romay's dialogue being unintelligible on more than one occasion). Apart from that, "Tender Flesh" is a real treat!

2-0 out of 5 stars SILLY
All I can say about this film is that I thought it was just plain goofy. Although it has two excellent hot soft core stars in it (Samantha Phillips, Monique Parent, and Amber Newman), I feel they were just wasted here. I won't even mention the name of the other female out of kindness). Its plot is supposed to be imaginative, I suppose, but I found it unintentionally silly and bizarre.. De Franco, the director, is supposed to be some kind of hot shot. ... Although there are some pretty good extras on the DVD, the quality of the transfer for the film itself was terrrible.
The best I can say is that De Franco should be credited for having discovered Amber Newman

2-0 out of 5 stars Jess Franco Treads Familiar Ground
This is Jess Franco's remake of his first remake of "The Most Dangerous Game"; the first time around, as "The Perverse Countess" (also with Lina Romay, then in the Amber Newman role), it was a little wilder and woolier, if not exactly fresh. "Tender Flesh" feels tired because of the stale plotline and the less than over-the-top action. I also didn't care for much of the cast; Amber Newman can't hold a candle to Franco's earlier starlets like Soledad Miranda or the young Lina Romay (hell, the OLD Lina Romay can't hold a candle to the young Lina Romay...Lina, put your clothes back on!). Despite the occasional weirdness and the ever-present female nudity (mostly of Lina...), the movie just doesn't go far enough for it to earn a recommendation except to Franco completists.

Just a couple of additional remarks:

The DVD is indeed loaded with extras; I enjoyed them more than I did the film.

I wasn't impressed with the visual quality of the movie. It wasn't horrible, but it was comparable to a mid-grade VHS tape, most likely due to the low budget of the film.

The women are NOT all that apppealing...as I said earlier, none of them can compare to the women in his earlier movies. It's not that "sexy" of a movie, nor is it that "weird"...while watching this, I kept thinking that it's something that you'd see at 4:00 AM on the USA Network (without the nudity and violence, of course); in other words, it struck me as just a generic low-budget thriller.

Franco's done much better; admittedly, his films aren't for everyone, but his better titles have a deserved cult appeal. "Tender Flesh" doesn't rank among them.

And Ms. Romay, please put your clothes back on. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of time
The only thing scary about this movie is the time i took to watch it.My grandma watch's better soap operas on tv.

3-0 out of 5 stars Vampires aren't the only ones who drink blood
A beautiful-looking but disturbing film about a dark fetish.

A young woman is looking for a room to rent and finds one for a low price. After moving in, her landlord, who looks like Deneuve in The Hunger, tells her that she likes to drink blood on occasion and it is simpler if she drinks that of her tenant. It is not required and she will not be forced, but it is simpler.

The tenant is immediately turned off by the idea, but is has been planted in her psyche. While exploring the house she finds a small shrine and the razor blade used for letting blood. The idea is no longer as bad as before.

Eventually she gives her OK and is cut and drunk from. She feels a closeness she has not felt before. She enjoys the feeling that she is needed. Unfortunately she gets hooked. Now she begins to pressure her landlord into drinking more.

The psycho drama continues until the tenant becomes a drinker as well as the two feast off of the landlords semi-boyfriend. Now both woman are looking for a donor and we get a cameo by Julie Strain.

Dark and beautiful, but many will find the subject disturbing in is portrayal and believability.

4-0 out of 5 stars Morbid Deep Sensual Experience!
I honestly have to defend this movie! I admit the acting wasn't the best in the world but i found it very interesting. It takes you to a place were most films dare to go. These two women were not real vampires the were two women that had a blood fetish. Celia is looking for a place to live but she got a little something extra! Premise of story Celia moves in, Whitney lets her know that in order to live there she has to let her suck on her. Celia mulls this decision over and decides, Well? What the Hell! Celia gets addicted and obcessed with Whitney after the blood drinking and a sexual encounter with her. Celia gets jealous of the boyfriend because she feels he is coming between her and Whitney. Celia goes on a rampage to reclaim Whitney from him. Basically that is the Premise of the story...by the way Celia (Played by Leslie Danon)is an extremley sexy/gorgious female a plus for the film! The music in the film is excellent, there is a song by Acid Reign called "Restore" That is very reminisent to some of Tricky's earlier work. Also the lesbian scene is very nicely filmed...Well worth the purchase! The acting would put you in the mind of a David Lynch movie..there is alot of nonchalantness going on. I am not a blood drinker but something turned me on about this movie!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time
This movie has no plot, poor acting, and is not a true vampire film. It's just a couple girl roomates who have a blood fetish, cut each other with razors, and drink blood from each other. This movie is a complete waste of time unless you too have a blood fetish and enjoy watching people drink from each other.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nerd in LA LA Land
Michael DeGood does an excellent job playing the guy who can't get a date who turns to pornography and the pornography industry as cures for his frustrations with women. He plays a bookish, nondescript paralegal by day in L.A. who starts moonlighting on his own time to shoot amateur tapes. He hires prostitutes and an out of work actor to star in his films. When the expenses get too much for him, he interviews with Craig Wasson, a pornographic producer, in order to get financial backing. That is where his hobby starts having serious repercussions. Wasson considers it part of the director's job to recruit young women, who come to Hollywood with stars in their eyes, into the porno industry and DeGood starts doing a lot of harm by trying to talk Kate, a nice young woman he meets, into doing adult films. DeGood is also seduced by an adult film star who wants to produce her own films with him doing the directing for her. All in all this is a very intriguing idea that is well executed. However, it is not Paul Thomas Anderson's "Boogie Nights," which remains the definitive work on cinematically exposing the underside of the adult entertainment industry. Anderson, however, was working with a much bigger budget and with an all star cast. Writer-director Atchison does a very admirable job with this small indie film and it is well worth seeing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but Melodramatic
Good, sad movie. Gives lots of info on the industry, and puts the Dave Matthews - looking protagonist in a really tight spot where you're really wondering what he's going to do, then gets reeeeally crazy overly dramatic at the end. Not ridiculous, but unrealistic enough so that if you were in a cynical mood the movie would be ruined. Worth watching.

4-0 out of 5 stars This indie really isn't a waste of time
Although its title may be misleading, "The Pornographer" presents us with a very interesting theme which stands out among thousands of Hollywood's cliche-filled screenplays. The dialogue, while not carrying any string of "memorable lines", is quite honest and delightful. When it comes to the inside look at the porn industry, however, this indie drama fails to offer a full, convincing picture (probably due to low budget and/or lack of experience). I particularly like Michael DeGood. His portrayal of a next door loser is no less impressive than Mark Wahlberg's characterization of an ambitious young guy in "Boogie Nights". Anyway, had (co-producer) Katheryn Cain tried harder in her acting, had Monique Parent spent some more time studying what Melanie Griffith did in "Body Double", this movie could be much more entertaining. All in all, not a waste of time. You better give it a try.

5-0 out of 5 stars Look past the title, you'll be surprised
This movie was actually quite well made. I have seen movies with big stars that look promising and come out awful. "The Pornographer" has no lines that make the movie look dumb, and relatively little actually pornographic scenes. I admit that when I was watching this, I kinda was expecting a B movie, and I wasn't expecting to stay on the channel. I became mesmerized by the acting, drama, and issues of the film. The title more so portrays Paul Ryan's struggle in the industry and the sacrifices he has to make to succeed. All in all, he makes the ultimate sacrifice, going with what he thinks is right. Does he try too hard? We will see.

1-0 out of 5 stars Gives porn a bad name....
The Good: Director Doug Atchison attempts to make a very heavy-handed point regarding the exploitation of women by the porn business. I appreciate his point and applaud his efforts. Unfortunately Atchison has created a totally unbelievable melodrama to make his point.

The Bad: The last man to preach to me this heavily was wearing a collar. Atchison should get down off his pulpit and put together a believable movie. His inexperience destroys this movie.

The first half of the movie works ok. You get a feel for this dysfunctional loser and actually feel sorry for him on many levels. DeGood does well at being the loser next door. Halfway through the film everything goes wrong.

This movie is so bad that Bill Maher isn't even listed on the credits. We all know that didn't happen by accident. (...) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Rated-R, not UNRATED
Arg, there are few things more frustrating when viewing a movie than expecting an unrated softcore movie, and getting sucker-punched with a Rated-R version. That is the case here my friends.

What are some tell-tale signs of the DVD distributor doing the bait-and-switch? The 79-minute runtime is one. The credits and portions of the movie slowed down to increase runtime, resulting in a hurky-jerky motion is another. The sex scenes ending 10 seconds after they start is another. However, the real giveaway is the "Rated-R" on the back of the DVD case. Doh!

Normally, I would automatically give such a film 1-Star, but I relented. It's my crush on Tracy Ryan, or whatever name she wants to go by. That gives the film 2-Stars. Tera Patrick gives the movie the 3rd Star, especially her scene with the couple. It's a shame it lasted 15 seconds.

I've considered many things in the universe, from String Theory to the human soul, but I can't figure out why they bother printing an R-Rated version on a DVD when there's a perfectly good UNRATED cut somewhere. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars NOT A GOOD MOVIE
Sorry, but this film is rediculous. Casper Van Dien is awful in the role. It's obvious he doesn't know how to act and whoever said Van Dien looked like he did alot of research on the role has got to be out of there mind. It's even a horrible love story, it's often very corny and is horribly photographed. And seventy-five percent of the whole film wasn't even true. He never came on to Natalie Wood and never talked to Pier Angeli after she broke up with him.
To start with: Casper here, portrays the Hollywood legend as if he were some big time macho skirt chaser (as mentioned, in the film he came on to Natalie Wood), looking for trouble. James Dean was not a skirt chaser, he was shy and took his acting seriously. He wouldn't moon the camera (as at the beginning of the film he moons the camera when shooting for "East of Eden"). And when he's at Pier Angeli's house in the film. He turns on some Rock'n'Roll music. Jimmy listened to classical music, with classic singers like Frank Sinatra (not insulting Rock'n'Roll or anything, just noting it). Also, the racing sequences are horrible. It looks more like they're racing at a theme park. And also the film doesn't even cover Jimmys whole life, it didn't cover the years that effected his life. And at the end when the cars collide it's horrible. It shows the hero dead, it's really painful and heart breaking (even if it is pathetic Casper Van Dien) to see the hero die, especially when it's supposed to be James Dean.
As asnother reviewer said, I would recommend the bio-pic starring James Franco, although not totally accurate (but more accurate than this film) it shows James Dean for who he was. James franco is a real gifted actor (unlike Casper Van Dien) he has a bright future ahead if he keeps acting.

1-0 out of 5 stars An insult to Jimmy!
This film is extremely insulting to the memory of James Byron Dean, and attempts at presenting a "cool-legend" other than how Jimmy actually was. Bad, bad, bad stuff right here. Please, ... Casper? (I can't believe I can't get work acting (I look more like Jimmy than he does), this performance was pathetic and one-dimensional.) For a great and multi-layered portrayal of how Jimmy was check out "James Dean" starring James Franco (a role in which he won several awards). While the TNT film may have some factual slip-ups here and there, it does not romanticize and idealize James Dean. It presents Jimmy as a lonely boy with vast emotional problems searching for acceptance and love. (Which is exactly who he was)...

1-0 out of 5 stars Pure [junk]
I could play a better James Dean than Casper. I cannot even believe they chose him, I find that so insulting. This movie [stinks] royally and thats that. And for once could we please have an honest hollywood film about his LIFE no fiction added romance.... EVERYONE KNOWS he was bisexual... whats the big deal? I think its okay to make a film about that as well as all the other real things he did and what he delt with. Enough of this low budget trash.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get Over it CRYBABIES!!!! Good Film , Casper is awesome
I think this is a good film, period!!!! I live in Indiana and I have been a Jimmy Dean fan for over half my life (I'm 36). The point here is that there will never be another James Dean, we all know that, so get over it!!!!! I'd never expect any guy to play Jimmy and capture his whole persona. Jimmy was too talented and special for that to happen. Casper is blond, blue eyed, medium-short height, and pulls off Jimmy's facial expressions and body gestures well. What else can you expect? I think Casper is a fine actor and he does a sensitive thoughtful acting job in the role of James Dean.

For starters, everyone knows Pier left Jimmy for Vic Damone (documented facts here, even Pier said so later). The story of Pier and Jimmy in this movie is considered by most Dean fans to be the true one. Pier's mother pushed her to marry Vic, end of story. Unless you subscribe to the story that Jimmy was gay and their relationship was a farce (for myself, I think the idea of Jimmy being gay is a farce in itself).

Yes this film has flaws. Sal and Natalie are depicted unfairly, but that is a judgement call depending on whose facts you choose to believe. I thought the jibe to both was unessesary. sal was gay and Natalie slept around, but Jimmy was no angel either. It was uncalled for.

Robert Mitchum and Connie Stevens are awesome in this movie as well as Carrie Mitchum (Casper's ex-wife). Diane Ladd was so good as Mama Pierangeli that I wanted to reach through the TV screen and punch her lights out. If you like Dean and are open minded enought to seeing someone play Jimmy, then you may find that you will like this film. It is meant to be an action-drama, not a serious hardcore bio picture. Lot's of cool scenes of Jimmy (Casper) riding a motorcycle and Jimmy's Porche's. The soundtrack can be overbearing at times, like alot of film's nowadays.

Poor Jimmy and Pier, I'll bet they are in heaven right now snuggling. I hope they are together finally.

2-0 out of 5 stars but the music is good
i have to agree with the other reviewers for the most part this movie stinks. With the possible exception of Robert Mitchum the acting is horrid and the movie very inaccurate. James Dean was not madly in love with Pier Angelli and in fact broke off the relationship with her. In the movie the reverse is true. On the plus side the music, at least the songs by Gordon Waller are excellent if you like mid 50s music or are a Peter and Gordon fan. You may consider buying the soundtrack 'Race With Destiny" if you can find it. I give it 4 stars, fron what i have heard from the movie. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Big build up to a big let down...
This film presents itself as having all the possiblities of some interesting situations. That is, if you only actually rely on the liner notes that tout a scenerio of sexual adventure and imaginative and provocative scenes. None of which could be further from the truth. The scenes are unimaginative and the actors are dull and the overall sound quality is some of the worst that I have ever heard on a professionally produced DVD. Not recommended as a rental and definitely not recommended as a purchase at any price. I agree whole heartedly with the other reviewer as well. Don't bother with this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing
That movie is crap. Obviously it's not from Indigo Entertainment but from Surrender Cinema. The graphic is incredibly poor and the scenes are very plain and flat, I mean not spicy at all. You can tell that the actors are overacting which is not natural at all. The plot itself is stupid, involving several men/women meeting up in a resort, and having sex with each other. No pink shots or close-ups (like you would expect from previous Playboy movies) or full frontal or rear nudity scenes. I have also seen "Castle Erotica" from the same studio, and it is as disappointing as this one. I would definitely not recommend this one. I believe the same movie would have been heaps different if it were from Indigo Entertainment (another subsidiary of Playboy Entertainment Group). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Night Visions: Timeless erotica
I thought Night Visions was one of the sexist films I have seen in years. Not only were there a fine array of beautiful women. There must have been over 20 of them. But also the film takes you through erotic history. I also liked the costumes and the film had a distinctive look about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars NIGHT VISIONS An erotic romp through time
Night Visions is one of the more interesting erotic films to come along in quite awhile. I found the many many women beautiful and each story set in a particular time zone was fascinating. Especially the Greek goddess (Julie Strain) and the Egyptian and Medevil segments. This movie has a erotic dreamy look about it which I found very sexy and erotic.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Deceptive
I bought this DVD after seeing so many perfect reviews. I must say that this is the worst erotica DVD in world history. The filming is extremely poor. The actors seem very amateur. I'm beginning to think that the other reviewers are actually the sellers. A little research on the net will back up my review.

5-0 out of 5 stars night visions very erotic
A very erotic and steamy movie. Better than most and has a hell of alot more good looking women than other movies. Also liked the way it had a woman's point of view. But overall it's all the great looking ladys and there is alot of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars really good

1-0 out of 5 stars move along
Don't bother with this DVD,The scene that is pictured on the cover is not even in the DVD.It is like buying a Star Wars
DVD and when you pop it in you are watching Star Trek. Not bad, just not what you ordered!!So,move along.

4-0 out of 5 stars Classy Erotica
I saw this series on TV in Europe and loved it and had to have the DVD's. The titles says it all but it's definitely a couples experience because it gives both parties what they want. Not explicit, some episodes are hotter than others with the ones on this compilation have a rather soft picture (it's an early DVD) so some of the detail that was there on broadcast is missing. The lighting is very well done and the story is threr for those who want it but we liked this a lot. Nicole Gian is very very appealing as the madam with Kira Reed and Kim Yates also appearing. I like the fact that some of the girls don't have your typical playboy look yet still are very attractive. PS- Volume 2 is even better. I hope someone releases more of these on DVD in the future ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I'm a Monique Parent fan, so that's enough for me.
This wasn't a great movie, even by softcore standards, but it does it's job. A barely-there plot combined with pretty, yet flexible women equals a decent way to spend 85 minutes. Ahmo Hight doesn't get as flexible in this movie as she does in Hotel Exotica, but she's good to look at anyway. Once again, Monique Parent steals the show. This time around she's a primary character instead of a supporting character like in the first "Club Wild Side" movie. Look for plenty of naked chicks; don't look for anything else.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Love Story ?????
IF you expect this movie to be full of sex and of naked people, Well this is the movie for you. But if you want a movie with romance and a great plot with some sex mixed in, well you are in luck this movie has it also. It tells a story about a texan cowboy who is looking for love and a good job after his girlfriend has told him she is marring the banker's son. So Joe (cowboy)goes to L.A. and he meets a women who tells him he could move in with her and pay her rent. Joe meets other people during the movie who only use him for wild sex because of his looks and his very, very huge manhood. In the end he has to choose the girl or a future of one nigh stands.

3-0 out of 5 stars SO BAD IT'S GOOD
The plot is pure schmaltz and highly preictable, but the film has gorgeous sexy people in highly erotic situations in it so and that sense it is quality soft core porn.Monique Parent by herself makes the film worth seeing.

A club called "Wild Side" is the center of the picture; it's a kind of strip/sex club with young things doing lap dancing and other assorted sex activites. The main guy is an aspiring young artist who becomes the hit of the club after he starts performing onstage sex with his girlfriend; they have their problems but all goes well in an enjoyable happy ending. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed it
I've always enjoyed this movie but was disappointed with the DVD version. Scenes were left out (the wax session at the beginning) plus they could have encluded more on the special features to please those not into the leather scene. But for the price you can't go wrong.

2-0 out of 5 stars Junk
I have no real clue what this movie is about, but Julie Strain & Monique Parent in the rain *almost* make up for it.

1-0 out of 5 stars horrible boring movie
the graphic is blurry and fuzzy. The plot is extremely stupid and hard to understand what's going on and don't know what's the point of the movie. Little actions, and the music is terrible. The good lesbian theme at the end(last less than 2 minutes) is captured in a dark rainy day and the graphic is really horrible, unable to show the details. I won't recommend to anyone, i bought it and watched it, and has to fastfoward several parts. After i viewed it i have the intention to throw it away!

2-0 out of 5 stars Julie couldn't even save this train wreck.
This is a yawn fest from start to finish. Weak acting all around. Julie Strain is the only & I mean ONLY reason this flick didn't get a negative 3 stars from me. Save you money & get Sorceress kids. Julie is a really underrated actress. But this isn't the right environment to showcase her "many" skills. The scene in the rain at the end is pretty cool, otherwise it's all "fast forward button time"

1-0 out of 5 stars good example of how bad bad can be
This is the only DVD i've ever thrown away. Bad bad bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars Goes farther than most
This goes about as far as any cable movie I have ever seen (tied with Hotel Exotica). Some of the lesbian scenes clearly show some contact that you almost never see on cable, even on cinemax. I find Maria Ford to be really hot, in spite of the unnecessary boob job. Her whole body is incredibly toned and hard. For someone who has been around as long as her, she is amazing. Lots of good looking women having sex with men, and other women. If that is what you want, you should get this.
On the other hand, you could just wait for it to come around again on cinemax and tape it...

It isn't clear whether the cinemax version is the R-rated one on sale here (hard to believe, given the amount of frontal nudity and clear genital contact) or an unrated version, or director's cut.

4-0 out of 5 stars A very hot, fun softcore video.
Low level male office assistant is tasked with watching his rich boss's mansion while the boss is away on business. The mansion becomes the focal point for several sex scenes. The women (Maria Ford, Jeannie Millar, Jacqueline Lovell, and Monique Parent) are all very hot. Maria Ford and Monique Parent get the best scenes. Jeannie Millar is unfortunately underused, but her one scene is very good.

This one almost qualified for 5 stars, but just missed it because of a couple of problems. There are several times where it felt like something more explicit had been censored out. I just chalk it up to bad editing since so many other scenes are far too explicit for this to be an R rated version. Also, there is a lesbian scene involving Jacqueline Lovell and another girl that is completely ruined because we see the whole thing from the viewpoint of a handheld camcorder. To screw up a Jacqueline Lovell lesbian scene like that is unforgivable.

But overall you are still left with a lot of really hot sex scenes. This one is easy to recommend.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is not the key to sensual softcore
Do not be fooled into buying this movie. If you are looking for a sensual, clever softcore film with lingerie, stockings and the like, than look elsewhere. Any sex that is shows is not steamy or provocative. There are far less expensive alternatives if you are looking for something good in the softcore genre that can be shared with a signficant other.

3-0 out of 5 stars Jeannie Millar is spectacular, but....
The opening scene is about as good as this [bad] excuse of a softcore pr0nflcik gets.

4-0 out of 5 stars Only one reason to get this movie...Ms. Jeannie Millar!
Right off the top, this is (and isn't) your basic late-night, softcore Cinemax movie. While there isn't much of a plot to this flick, the quantity of T&A make up for it. Jacqueline Lovell, Maria Ford and Monique Parent are all pretty good, and they're pretty hot in this flick. But, the best player in this movie is Jeannie Millar. While she didn't get as much screen time as the other three actresses mentioned, she's incredibly hotter than those other three. If you get this movie, it will be worth it because of Jeannie. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars just plain bad...
This movie was just plain bad. It took two sittings to watch it as it literally put me to sleep. The script and direction are horrible, and the actors have zero energy, except for Joe Estevez, who tries really hard to inject some life into this dud. It's not even enjoyable in that bad movie kind of way. And Monique Parent keeps her clothes one throughout the entire movie. No T&A in this one. Save your time and money. My DVD was full of glitches as well, lots of digital artifacts and it freezes up during the credit sequence, which might actually be a good thing for those crew members whose names we don't see!

4-0 out of 5 stars In Praise of Joe Estevez
Have you ever rented a movie and thought it was going to just stink, but became entertained by it's characters? That's how it was for me with this lack luster made for video release. If it weren't for Joe Estevez I think I would have turned the movie off after the first fifteen minutes. But Mr. Estevez was so over the top with his evil portrail of "how not to be a dad" it's worth every penny of the rental! I would love to see more of him in other films because he has such a wild glaze in his eyes and raspy voice! As a villian he rates up there with Christhoper Walken(True Romance), Dennis Hoopper (Blue Velvet), and Alan Rickman (Die Hard)! As for the rest of this video, the story is weak, the effects aren't there, and there is very little horror, except for a rape scene which will either make you laugh or squirm in your seat. Monique Parent is fun to look at, I wish we could have seen more of her! if you don't take it seriously the movie is alright, but It's Joe Estevez that will make the film for you!

3-0 out of 5 stars Campy and Dumb but a Great Spoof
I rented this film because I had rented "Starved" and really liked what the film makers did with that movie and I wanted to see more of their work. I'm not sure if it was the completely unoriginal script (which I noticed wasn't credited) but this one was bad. They must of gotten paid a lot of money to make this one. However, about half way through the film I began to realize that it's not a horror film at all, but a campy spoof on horror films! One of the most notable scenes in the film involves a bat and a naked man and ... you get the rest! I wouldn't say the film was a total loss -- Joe Estevez was awsome! Monique Parent was actually pretty good in a part that didn't ask her to remove her clothes. Kudos must go to the poor actor in the shower scene and to the girl (Leslie Garrett) who gets locked in a clothes dryer! I think the Director should stick to his own material like he did in "Starved", it is obvious he tried to make the best of a pretty smelly story.

1-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, unforgettable - and quite terrible
"The Catcher" has become legendary among those of us who were patient enough to sit through it. A cautionary note: do not watch this movie alone. It is not frightening (though it is very gory). You will simply need your friends to help you through the tedium between unintended belly laughs.

Joe Estevez (either the brother or cousin of Martin Sheen - we're not sure which) plays the "father from hell". We first see him "coaching" his son Johnny at softball. Joe's overracted tirades ("you throw like a girl, boy!") had us laughing so hard we had to pause the tape only several minutes into the flick. Imagine Martin Sheen after several hundred Big Macs and stripped of his acting ability.

It recalls one of the old "Tales From the Darkside" television episodes - low-budget, strangely lit, and therefore slightly surreal.

Needless to say - there is violence, and many years later young Johnny escapes from a mental insitution (this is from the back of the tape - the movie itself doesn't touch on this at all) to play "one last game". He then proceeds to knock off the baseball park workers, one by one... well, you've seen this before. If you can make it past the pseudo-artsy "let's hold the camera at a distance and pan slowly for several minutes" approach, the terrible acting, the laughable soundtrack, ... well, just wait for the return of Joe Estevez at the finale. He steals the show.

Scorcese, Cohen Bros., Spielberg, are you listening? Joe Estevez! Someone call this guy's agent!

Many scenes are not for the weak-hearted. I am fairly numb to movie violence, but some of this film's sick gore (the baseball bat scene in particular) had me twisting in my seat.

There is an achingly long trailer before the movie (for "STARVED!"), and it is nearly as groaningly bad (read: endlessly entertaining) as the feature itself. Definitely worth a rental for the sick-minded, or masochistic, or merely curious. If this weren't rental-priced I'd pick up a copy of my own and bring it out every couple of years at parties for the ol' Mystery Science Theater treatment. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars An unusually interesting straight-to-video flick.
If you know anything about exploitation film, you should know what to expect if you pick up a Fred Olen Ray or Jim Wynorski film: Lots of nudity, goofball humour, and bad acting. This one's directed by Ray under the pseudonym Daniel Peters, but surprisingly, the film stands out among the sleaze crowd thanks to an unusually satisfying story with a terrific ending.

The story centers around a rich womanizer named Jack (a suitably sleazy Tim Abell) who bullies every woman in his life into sleeping with him, from his secretary Diane (Robyn Harris) to his foreign maid Rosa (Amy Rochelle). He's engaged to voluptuous airhead Kristy (Griffin Drew), who starts to get an idea of what he's up to. Diane and Kristy meet through chance and make an alliance against Jack, resulting in a hilarious final 20 minutes that's almost pro-feminist (!).

All the sex scenes, as befits this genre, get tiring awfully quickly, and lead Griffin Drew is an atrocious actor. Her dialogue delivery sounds like she's reading the script for the first time. But there is a real saving grace in English actress Harris who, although more known for her eye-popping figure than her ability, has a way of chomping scenery that's highly pleasing and rare in this kind of film. Her character is also stronger than usual, rather than the usual sex object of video erotica. And Abell's downright sleaziness works well for the plot.

This is one of those few straight-to-video erotic films that actually entertains outside of its nude scenes. And it somehow manages to soften its misogyny (standard in this genre) with Harris' character. No woman I know ever truly likes this kind of movie, but this one would come close to appealing across the genders. Strange indeed! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars erotic fantasies
the movie was not worth the money. there are no dialogue throughout the whole movie, only cheesy elevator music that will put you to sleep. at times, the video seemed more like a nudy music video. not what i expected. not the best from playboy. each love scene between the couples only lasted 3-4 minutes the most, no action just strictly kissing. just alot of soft lense photo shoot type stuff with the girls posing. Final Sum : this would be something good to watch on a rainy day if you want something to help you fall asleep. no excitement.

3-0 out of 5 stars Playboy gloss and sheen
