Rescue Heroes: The Movie is easily the brawny team's most exciting and entertaining animated story to date. Talk about a bad day at the office: When a volcano in Ecuador spouts an unknown element into the atmosphere, a series of mysterious lightning storms create worldwide havoc, from avalanches in Switzerland to bursting dams in Thailand to fires in American forests. The Rescue Heroes scamper over the globe saving lives, but nothing, it seems, can avert a planetary cataclysm once these storms merge in the atmosphere. Complicating matters is an unknown illness striking team leader Billy Blazes, and a bad case of arrogance and insubordination that grounds Rocky Canyon at a critical time. Rescue Heroes: The Movie is far and away more visually pleasing and dramatic than episodes from the Heroes' television show. CGI animation allows more creative angles, movement, and changing backgrounds--very handy for a story spread over much of the Earth. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Even grown ups will like it! It made a fan out of me!!
I initially bought the movie for my uncle's kid for christmas...ANYTHING to get him out of his psychosis with "bob the builder"!!

It's a surprisingly good movie! I thought it would be cheesy like the previous reviewer described, but it's really not all that cheesy (and mind you, cheesy IS pretty relative when it comes to CHILDREN'S entertainment!!)...Granted, there WERE some parts of the movie that were a bit within the bounds of RIDICULOUS...but those parts weren't any more ridiculous than those of some major Hollywood motion pictures such as "THE CORE" or "ARMAGEDDON"...And the episodes from the tv show are SOOOOO cute!!! (I only wish I had stuff this cool to grow up on when I was a child!!)

So, if you have a kid who's into the toys or the show, he'll absolutely FLIP over this movie!! You will not waste a PENNY of your money on this one (you may even end up liking this yourself, heh heh)...As embarassing as it is to admit, I'll have to return to buy ANOTHER copy of this movie, since watching Rescue Heroes has now become my newest guilty pleasure >;.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Kids love it, AND Mom loves it!
I am so glad to have found this Rescue Heroes movie and the Rescue Heroes toys! My 4 year old son came home from daycare playing (acting out) Power Rangers, and all he was doing was wanting to kick, punch, shoot, and fight. I was desperate for an alternative which was action packed and definately still catering to boys. This is IT! He and his 5 year old sister now pretend play Rescue Heroes, and I'm much more comfortable with what they're learning. And the Rescue Heroes are great role models for real life. I'd recommend to all parents trying to reinforce non-violence, when so much coming at kids is violent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cool!
I like the movie because it's cool! My favorite part is the earthquake. I like their mission select backpacks. Jack Hammer is my favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rescue Hero for Life!
This movie was the first exposure to the Rescue Heroes for my two boys, ages 4 & 2. We watched it in our van on a long car trip and they watched it 2 consecutive times (3 hours) without taking their eyes off it! Its very intense, non-stop action and may be a bit much for kids under 3. It is somewhat educational, positive, and very entertaining for the age group. This is one of the best movies I have ever purchased for my kids. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good horror film entry
Others put this film down comparing it to other less than imaginative horror films, but that is not the case at all. This is a film head and shoulders above the rest of the early 80's slasher films.Actually one of the best. The murderer in this movie is particularly vicious and cruel (that's what makes it way cool)obviously taking delight with each murder. (Notice the smile on the murderers face after one murder in particular?)Both funny and engrossing. Yes I agree with other reviews, the murders, at least some of them are imaginative , as well as clever.I liked the psychological bent of the film. A worthwhile way to spend an evening of video viewing. Give it a try.

4-0 out of 5 stars Horror movie classic. Who is the killer? Best twists!
Here is another horror movie classic. College kids like this one. Melissa Sue Anderson (Little house on the Prarie) and a gaggle of other university students are being killed one by one. Each one of the students are a little on the crazy side, so no telling whom the killer may be. Her mom had died. Eventually her dad and herself move back into town and the family house. "Virginia" is really down and bothered. But she is making friends in school and considers herself to be in the Top Ten. Cast also includes Tracy Bregman (Days Of Our Lives, Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful) and Glenn Ford (Superman [1978]). Can you guess who the killer is? This RCA home video print is not too good. The color is faded. The film being Canadian might have something to do with that. But this is a good film worth watching and good acting from Melissa Sue Anderson.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Underrated Slasher
5 out 5 stars when it comes to slashers! Clever plot twists, inventive murder scenes, and a great build up to the ending. Plus: Melissa Sue Anderson is great as our lead character, Ginny. Worth a watch!

5-0 out of 5 stars cheesy fun
okay so it isn't the best movie ever but it's fun and funny. i liked it.

3-0 out of 5 stars You Say It's Your Birthday
Thanks to horror classics like Halloween, The Howling, and The Exorcist, the genre saw a resurgence in the 70's and 80's, not even matched by today's standards. More often then not though, most of them were just pale imatations of, the crazed killer stalking teens with raging hormones plot. Very few of these films broke away from the pack, comming up with a new spin, an exception is the mildly clever Happy Birthday To Me.

Thanks to severe head trauma, Virginia Wainwright, (Melissa Sue Anderson, who tried to shed her past role on TV's Little House, but hasn't done much since) part of her brain is damaged, to the point where she can't remember her recent past. When she returns to school at the Crawford Academy, she is welcomed into the Top Ten, a snooty social clique. Things turn deadly, as someone starts killing off the members of the group. With her 18th birthday approaching Virginia starts to doubt her own sanity, thinking that the killer's real identity, may indeed, be linked to her own forgotton past - or that she herself may even be the killer, acting out, during one of her blackouts.

Directed by Lee J. Thompson, who worked on the original Cape Fear and Battle For The Planet Of The Apes, elevates the film a bit, and makes you (almost) forget that it's really just a slasher flick. The interesting twist of the possiblity that the heroine may be the murderer is also kinda fun. The film is also given even more credability, by the prescence of the great Glenn Ford, as Dr. David Faraday. The script has all the familiar horror film cliches, of course but as I said, it's still got enough there to make it watchable and even fun.

Happy Birthday To Me is not yet available on DVD. Therefore, VHS will have to do for now. It may be hard to find a copy of it. If you do...Rent don't Buy...It's worth a look for horror enthusiasts *** and a half stars ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fans - Get This One Right Away!
The new "Dragon Tales" DVD focuses on stories about overcoming fear. Included is "Have No Fear" - a story about Ord's fear of a butterfly/frog hybrid creatured called a "butterfrog" and "Try It You'll Like It," - a story in which our Dragon Tales friends try to help Zak overcome his fear of the attractions at the Dragon Land Amusement Park. Both are fairly well-written stories that have a good approach to the topic.

However, the main and most important reason why show fans should get those DVD right away is the presence of the story "Cowboy Max" on this DVD. This story is part an episode that was supposed to air during the final batch of five shown on PBS, but instead ended up airing only foreign markets for unknown reasons. The two stories in that episode: "Just the Two of Us" and the one on this DVD - "Cowboy Max," featured some of the best writing and dialogue ever seen on the series.

Stories are presented full-screen and a play-all feature is included. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars adventures in dragon land
I FOUND DRAGON TALES VERY GOOD FOR THE KIDS IT HELPS THEM LEARN

5-0 out of 5 stars LOOOVED IT
I really enjoyed it and sooooo did my 3 year old, he would watch it every day if he had not lost the disc, at some point I would love to replace the disc and allow him to watch it as much as he would like, I had a similar response with older some at this age when I bought a Lion King on video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for little ones!!
My 2 1/2 year old daughter had never seen dragontails before we purchased this DVD and now she can't get enough of it. It is played once a day atleast. This DVD is about Sharing. Very good lessons for any child.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loooove it!
My daughter, one and a half, loves it. I find it one of the most entertaining children's programs around (for adults, that is), which is important when you have to watch the thing repeatedly. The stories are entertaining and teach good lessons. Sometimes my daughter will say "dance" and I'll put on the music videos for her. The songs are original and cute. I think my daughter has a crush on Max ;)!

5-0 out of 5 stars loved by 2-3 year olds
This DVD is great for little kids, and not as great for adults when their little ones want to see it over and over and over again. L-OVE IT! (as per Weezy)

The story is not educational, but does demonstrate good values. I can't wait for the next series of episodes to come out, so I don't have to watch this DVD over and over again (as often)! ... Read more

Five episodes of the animated series on one DVD, The Phoenix Saga follows Jean Grey's transformation into the mysterious and powerful Phoenix. It's a tale full of internal conflict, feuding family members, and the sadnessof sacrifice for the greater good. When Professor Xavier receives a psychic plea for help from an alien woman, he sends his X-Men on the next space shuttle to the Eagle One space station. They're greeted by a brute named Erik the Red, who's on a mission from Emperor D'Ken to destroy a rival's ship and take the M'Kraan crystal, which would give him unlimited power. The ship Erik the Red is supposed to destroy contains the emperor's sister, Lilandra, who is the one who established the psychic link to Professor X. Meanwhile, as Jean Grey pilots the shuttle back through the atmosphere to Earth, she is blasted by a burst of radiation that slowly changes her into Phoenix, the guardian of the M'Kraan crystal. The battle for the crystal becomes a battle for the safety of the universe. Family conflicts pop up throughout, from the sibling emperors, to Professor X fighting his half-brother Juggernaut, to Cyclops meeting the space pirate Corsair (who's actually his father). The action scenes at the end are not nearly as engaging as the story that sets them up, but stick it out because the final scene packs a wallop. --Andy Spletzer ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Would "Return of Jean Grey" be the next released ?
I don't know why Universal had sudden released the DVD disc of X-men animated series: The Phoenix Saga. If the released is relied to the live X-men moive, it seems that Fox would be much more reasonable to get the rights of released.

Anyway, as a X-fan, you should known that "The Phoenix Saga" is a most important storyline in X-universe. Although the animated version may be quite different with comics (It seems that Madelyne Pryor would not appeared, because Jean Grey will return very soon); however if you don't hate the animated series, the disc is much worth to collect.

At present, there is still no sign to telling us that there would be more released of X-men animated series on DVD. I wish "The Phoenix Saga" would not be the only disc in the market. I'm glad to see more major storyline could be released, for instance: return of Jean Grey and "Days of future past".

Finally, I'm pleased the subtitles feature is available on the disc. The feature has really a helping tool for non-english viewer to understand the contents. If you have got DVD of "Transformer: the Movie" and "G.I.Joe: the Movie", you should known what I mean.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have For The Fans Of The Animated Series
"The Phoenix Saga" is the first DVD of the animated series...and what a great choice they've made! This DVD is a collection of the five-part series which tells the tragic story of the legendary Phoenix saving the universe from the evil Shi'ar emperor D'Ken. Unfortunately, the X-Men member Jean Grey is the Phoenix's host, which causes confusion among everyone, including her. In addition to this, Charles Xavier (Professor X) is psychically linked to D'Ken's sister, Llandra, bringing the battle to the planet earth. All this results into a war against good and evil that may cost the life of one of the X-Men. All that being said, the DVD looks great, of course. Since this was produced before Dolby Digital was commonplace, it is presented in two channel mode (stereo), but it does ok for Dolby Pro-Logic mode. The animation is a bit choppy in some places, but considering how fast they have to pump out cartoons, it's forgivable. One noticable difference is the changing of the voice-overs for some of the characters. The original cast seems to be intact, but the most obvious was that of Gladiator, the Defender of the Shi'ar throne. For those with copies of the original series on VHS, listen to the difference and you'll see what I mean. Otherwise, this is a must-have for the fans of the original animated series. Now if they'll only release, "The Dark Phoenix Saga"......

4-0 out of 5 stars The Phoenix Saga rocks, but...
Im glad they are starting to release DVD versions of Xmen. One problem though, why havnt they just released the seasons rather then just episodes here and there. Ive been a fan of the xmen for quite a while now.. to figure out that they should have entire seasons on dvd. Anyways if u never seen the original xmen series get this dvd. Its really cool.

5-0 out of 5 stars the x-men rule
my obsession with the xmen came about in junior high and has not stopped yet. the animated series is my favorite cartoon ever, and the fact there are some episodes out on dvd makes me very happy. i was not even aware that there were some dvds available until i did a random search. i think i am lucky though cause now they all say out of stock. back to the dvd. the phoenix saga is one of the best story arcs they did on the cartoon. my favorite thing in the world is to see the mutants use their powers and in this five episode dvd you really get to see mutants at their best. it would even be better if they put the dark phoenix saga out as well to finish the story. but since this is the only one out right now it will have to do, but i cant complain. i suggest getting this dvd if possible b/c it really is worth the money. any x-men buff should have this dvd or try to get it because it is part of x-men history and is a very important part of the x-men's evolution. ----and to any one who cares please put out more of this cartoon out on dvd, there is still an audience for it and there are a whole lot of us who grew up while the cartoon was on---- so i highly recommend this dvd and will hope and pray that more will follow it in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good classic cartoon
At least on Dvd.

This Dvd includes 5 episodes of the Phoenix Project shown in 1994.

Jean Grey converts onto Phoenix to save the galaxy from the evil emperor D'Ken who wants the M'Kraan crystal to control the galaxy and have their own world.

Lilandra the sister of D'Ken have taken the crystal with her and needs the help of the X men to defeat D'Ken evil plans.

Fun and entertaining.More episodes are on Vhs I hope they transfer soon to Dvd. ... Read more

Strap on your dragon wings for Yes, We Can! and you're in for a junior-level journey of empowerment by way of ingenuity: In each of these five episodes, Cassie and company put their scaly heads together for some serious preschool-level problem solving. "Zak and the Beanstalk" catches up with the gang in their kid gloves, the better for taming a curmudgeonly giant; "Up, Up and Away" gets them thinking outside the box and inside the bubble--one that's trapping Ord; and "Jumping Bean Express" leads us through a strategizing session that successfully slams the door on the getaway plans of two renegade critters. For a break in the brainstorming, switch over to the four-ditty Dragon Tune segment; series this beloved among the under-5 crowd rarely churn out songs so hummable. --Tammy La Gorce ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Continuous play finally!
We just love the dragon tales cartoons. My three year old has learned so much about friendship from this series, and loves the music. The DVD itself is good. You can choose to play each episode once or play them all continuously. There is also and option to play the music segments which consist of four songs. Some of the songs are repeated from previous DVD's, but my daughter doesn't mind since they are so catchy.
Better than some of the previous dvd formats, and they still do not include a song between the chapters which would have been nice.

Description

Focusing on accepting and accommodating differences." Not Separated at Birth" -- Zak and Wheezie are bickering over what they'll build for the new playground - the xylophone slide or the drum trampolines. When they wish they had separate bodies, Quetzal gives them some magic crystals -- and their wish comes true! But when Wheezie's slide collapses because she didn't follow directions, she misses Zak's patient input. Zak makes the trampoline so loose and saggy that Cassie and Emmy can't jump on it and he misses Wheezie, who always knows how to make things fun. "The Greatest Show in Dragon Land" -- The kids and dragons are really excited about flying to Wonder World amusement park. When they find out Zak and Wheezie have a broken wing and are unable to fly, however, they agree to accommodate their friends by walking there instead. "A Tall Tale" -- Eunice the unicorn, who is terribly near-sighted, has lost her glasses, and Max and Emmy join the dragons to help her find them.Max wants to steer Eunice so she can see where she's flying, but he's too small to climb up on her back. And when they spot an object that looks like her glasses, he's too short to reach it.Poor Max, who was already feeling frustrated about being too little to do the things he wants, feels even worse. "Dragon Sails" -- The group sets sail for Rainbow Canyon in search of a special rainbow-colored crystal to complete Cassie's shimmering crystal set. When Ord's heavy weight rocks their little boat and they all fall into the water, he's sad because he fears they'll have to continue on their adventure without him.He hates being so big!The gang solves the dilemma by crafting a bigger, Ord-size boat and off they go again. "Staying within the Lines" -- The Stickleback Mountains have lost their colors! They were washed away in a big rainstorm, so Quetzal puts the gang to work painting the scene.Max, who is not worried about staying within the lines, gets carried away with the blue he's using for the stream. As the river threatens to overflow, Emmy and Cassie finish off a boulder dam just in time. The five adventures in Dragon Tales: It's Cool to be Me! are linked by four songs, "Shake Your Dragon Tale," "Hello," "Zoo" and "Round & Round." ... Read more

This animated anthology focuses on Wolverine's mysterious past and his heroic efforts at heavy-duty anger management. "Out of the Past," parts 1 and 2, find Professor Xavier's most challenging team member (real name: Logan) lured into a trap by former lover Lady Deathstryke, who seeks nasty revenge for the unintended destruction of her scientist father. Emotions run high and Logan's bad luck seems endless, but he is not without fellow-mutant friends here. (These episodes tell us one version of how Wolverine's body gained its interior metal frame.) "Nightcrawler" is an interesting variation on Frankenstein, in which Wolverine and X-Men newcomer/cleric Nightcrawler are attacked by a mob of paranoid villagers. "The Lotus and the Steel" finds Logan seeking inner peace at a Buddhist monastery in Japan, only to find himself in a Seven Samurai-derived plot. Included on the DVD are good special features, including a Stan Lee interview and bonus episode "The Final Decision." --Tom Keogh ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Fluffer Stuff
First Off this DVD only has 5 episodes

1. Out of the Past
2. Out of the Past II
3. Nightcrawler
4. The Lotus and the Steel
5. The Final Decision (Bonus)

Only 1 episode really has to do with Wolverine. The rest is fluff. In "Out of the Past" Part one we see how Wolverine got his claws. In "Lotus and the Steel" he goes back to a monastery in Japan. In the third and fifth episode, Wolverine is just a regular X-men. This DVD is just a way the studio can make a quick buck because of the X-men 2 Movie hype. The X-men Animated Series is great and should be released as a BOX SET, not single discs. But getting back to the DVD. There are other episodes that are probably better for this DVD. Like “Red Dawn” with Omega Red, “Repo Man” which tells of his claws and time with Alpha Flight. “Weapon X, Lies, and Videotape” tells of his time as Weapon X. And “Old Soldiers” which is about his adventures in WWII with Captain America. But technically the transfers to dvd look clean and crisp.

4-0 out of 5 stars They shouldn't tease us like this.
I like these episodes. In fact the bonus episode The Final Decision may be one of the best X-men episodes, but come on. I wish they'd start releasing the whole series on DVD. The way they've done it, they're just teasing all of the fans out there. Throwing us a bone every now and then.

I think there were probably some episodes that might have given us more insight into Wolverine than some of these did. Weapon X, Lies, and Videotape would have been a good one, but They're still good episodes. I love the commentary. It's very good, although he could be a little more relevant at times. I'd say over all it's an excellent DVD, picture and sound are great. It's just too little, but it's not too late. If they'd get a TV station to start showing this again, peak some interest in the young kids, they could sell the whole series on DVD and it would sell great. It's one of the greatest cartoon series of all time and they should market it more.

3-0 out of 5 stars What i really wanna see...
I bought this DVD, it generally was good, however it's sopposed to be about the history of WOLVERINE, not his "currrent" adventures... the WWII episode would have been better & some of the other Weapon X and Sabretooth oriented episodes would have been welcomed, personally I WOULD KILL(literally) for a boxed set of all 76(or so) episodes, in their entirety on DVD... that would make the greatest Chirstmas gift ever, now that's an X-FANS dream come true!!

5-0 out of 5 stars With Wolverine, everything is great!
I'm sorry others seemed disappointed in this DVD collection, but I was utterly satisfied! Something else that satisfied me completely, as far as Sci-Fi/Action books are concerned, was THE ADVENTURES OF DARKEYE: CYBER HUNTER...an extremely fast-paced book that takes place in the 23rd Century and reads like a script for a movie due to its unique "log entries" that really pushes the story along! Great read! I highly recommend it!

1-0 out of 5 stars Incredibley dull films.....
Very cheaply put together DVD on Wolverine and some forgetable shows from the early 90's X-Men series, horrible edited in this DVD sad to say. The Chris Claremont interview shows what a dull/uninventive writer he really is. I'm glad he's not involved with the X-Men movies in any way. Only Stan Lee is. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Def Con 4
There's no denying that this is not the best of films, but despite this, I found it to be interesting to watch; filmed twenty years ago, it deals with a common concern of the time: nuclear war, and more specifically, human survival after such a frightful event. The main protagonist of the film is a crewmember of a (top secret) nuclear missle platform orbiting the Earth. Several months after the war, the craft is brough down for some unknown reason somewhere in Nova Scotia, Canada. Here they find a world that has naturally become much more primitive and dangerous, and survival inevitably depends upon adapting to this new unfortunate state of reality. Now, the movie certainly lacks a number of qualities: acting is mediocre, the screenplay quite cheesy at times, and over all the story isn't all that profound. But the movie is, like I said, interesting, because it is in a way, a reminder of the fears, concerns and expectations of what is now a bygone era. And for this reason, it deserves, in my opinions a third star.

4-0 out of 5 stars CONELRAD TOP 100 FILM
First off let me state that I was very surprised and entertained by this B flick. I almost saw it in the theaters
in the 80's and wish I had, instead I went to see "Blade Runner", and the "Road Warrior" again. OK so it isn't on that level of movie genius. I can tell you something though; the reviewers who pan this film with 1 star are those who probably love a film like "On The Beach" or "Fail Safe", and who rave about a 50's communist made film like "First Spaceship On Venus". Not to say those (the first 2) are bad films, they are not, but in both films the ending is not happy. These reviewers HATE to see anyone live and try to prosper in a post atomic war. It could easily be a horrible film, but the plot and character twists and turns keep it on edge. It's pretty cool (at least to me) to think of a manned "star wars" space platform that comes back to an atomic ravaged world and the survivors stories afterward. Definite cult status and made the CONELRAD.COM TOP 100 (some big budget flicks didn't make it!)!

4-0 out of 5 stars DEF-CON 4...another perspective
Look, everything ther other reviewers said about this movie is true, but so is this: I like this movie alot. I've watched it again abad again for almost 15 years now. Yea, it's kinda B-rated (budget flick). But it's a cult classic, IMO. You've got to see it to appreciate it. Watch with an open mind. See if you can rent it 1st before you buy. If not, then ask yourself why this old, b-rated movie still commands a top selling price. See? This cult classic b-rated flick is endearing, extraordinary and mutated. :-) You'll really like it or you'll hate it. Good luck.

This movie is rewatchable,...there's alot to be said for that. Basically a post apocalypse theme with pretty thin plot line,...but the action and "actions" or should I say post nuclear war behavior is more than entertaining and almost funny if it weren't for the very real themes concerning lack of food and killing. Definately watch this film whether you like nuke films or not.

1-0 out of 5 stars How bad is it.......................
I have to tell you a true story; the poster art was so cool I had to see this picture, yet what I got was the biggest disappointment next to The Avengers. The film starts off with a great idea and the opening scenes show good promise when the crew of a nuclear-armed space station has to react to World War 3. A few months later they have to bail out when an earth-based hacker discovers they might have a load of nukes onboard. Once on ground one of their party falls prey to an unknown predator while the other two have to contend with a gang run by a teenager. The rest of the movie is a bore as it turns into a cheap Mad Max/Road Warrior knock-off.

Like many of these films, they all lack the one element that made Mad Max so great, non-stop action. This movie is boring and looks cheap. The only cool thing is the opening scenes and the super cool poster. I wonder why this would even be released on DVD, as I can't remember a single actor I would recognize. ... Read more

Max and Emmy, best-loved siblings of the sandbox set, dust off their dragon scale a crowd-pleasing five times for Don't Give Up. From a parent's perspective, that adds up to five recitations of the magic rhyme to come back home until next time, which equals the same count of tricky life lessons tucked into a child's belt. From preschoolers' vantage point, it means a quintuple scoop of dragon play dates amid the show's sherbet-hued scenery. "Pigment of Your Imagination" pits the gang against a broken map; "Backwards to Forwards" sends Dragonland into topsy-turvy tailspins; "Sand Castle Hassle" tests the troop's perseverance as the homes they craft for turtles topple; "Tails You Lose" lets the wind out of Emmy's idea that winning is everything; and "Bully for You" gets to the bottom of what's really bothering a scaly green meanie. A sing-along segment and subtitles sweep this PBS program squarely into satisfaction-guaranteed territory. --Tammy La Gorce ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Filled with imagination, fun and a moral to every story
Dragon Tales is a cartoon PBS series produced by the makers of Sesame Street. It focuses on two kids named Max and Emmy who find a magic dragon scale that allows them to visit Dragonland.
In Dragonland they play with their friends, Cassie, Ord, Zak and Wheezie, and Quetzal. Each tale focuses on a different topic such a sharing, problem solving, listening, dealing with bullys, etc. When one of the dragon does something hard or really special, their dragon badge glows.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this cartoon, and I must admit that I do too! We own all three Dragon Tale DVD's. This DVD has a better format than the "let's share, let's play" DVD. With this DVD, you can choose to play all episodes, choose your own episode, or play the sing alongs. Each of the five episodes included here play one right after the other. I gave it four stars instead of five for that reason. It would have been nice if they had a sing along after each episode so the flow matches that of the TV series.

There is so many imaginative things here that it will be sure to capture any child's attention. Bottom line: You can't go wrong with this one for a boy or a girl! ... Read more

"Let's Start a Band" is not a regular episode of Dragon Tales.Instead, it is a conglomeration of Dragon Tales music videos thematically woven together by a story featuring real-life children. When Sam and Jennifer move to a new home, their babysitter introduces them to the neighborhood kids. Thanks to a common love of Dragon Tales and the universal appeal of music, the group is soon hard at work creating their own improvisational band and becoming great friends in the process.Imagine the kids' surprise when the whole Dragon Tales gang joins them in a musical finale.Real-life musicians Dan Zanes and Erykah Badu make brief appearances and 15 Dragon Tales music videos (including "Doodli-Do" and "Clap") are featured in their animated entirety. The DVD includes English subtitles and five sing-along songs with on-screen lyrics, but no Spanish audio or subtitles.
