THE EPISODES Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: White Light - Parts 1 & 2 ~ This 2-part episode is one of the better episodes of season two of MMPR. Lord Zedd sends down the Scarlet Sentinel, and the Power Rangers need more help to defeat the monster. Zordon and Alpha create a sixth Ranger - the White Ranger - to help defeat the Scarlet Sentinel. Entertaining, but it's not one of the best episodes. Power Rangers In Space: Countdown to Destruction - Parts 1 & 2 ~ This 2-part episode has been begging for a DVD release ever since it first premiered in 1998. The Space Rangers face massive armies as Astronema attacks the Earth, and the Rangers are nearly defeated. This episode is the pre-9/11 cut, so that the footage that was cut out is put back in. Power Rangers Lost Galaxy: To the Tenth Power ~ Trakeena discovers the five Psycho Ranger data cards and decides to reanimate them to attack the Galaxy Rangers. Then Andros arrives with the Space Rangers to help defeat them. One of the best episodes, although inclusion of 'The Power of Pink' and/or 'Protect the Quasar Saber' would've helped those who hadn't seen 'Lost Galaxy' before. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue: Trakeena's Revenge - Parts 1 & 2 ~ Trakeena comes back and plans to use stolen energy to take her revenge on the Rangers. Leo comes back with the Galaxy Rangers to help the Lightspeed Rangers defeat Trakeena, leading to predictable results. This episode doesn't deserve the DVD treatment, as 'Lightspeed' wasn't one of the better shows out there, and this episode is no exception. Power Rangers Wild Force: Forever Red ~ Five remaining Machine Empire generals have discovered Serpenterra buried on the surface of the moon. Cole must reunite with the rest of the Red Rangers (including Tommy and Jason) to help defeat the generals and save the Earth. Quick-paced episode has some annoying plot holes, unconvincing CGI effects, and an unsatisfying ending. A 2-part episode would've fared a lot better, but the episode is still good. Jason Narvy and Paul Schrier briefly reprise their roles as Bulk and Skull, and 3 PR alums voice three of the generals (Archie Kao, Catherine Sutherland, Walter St. Jones). OVERALL QUALITY: All the episodes are presented in their original 1.33:1 full-screen ratio. The picture quality for the episodes is excellent for the most part, save for some grain and specks in 'White Light' and 'Countdown to Destruction'. The audio quality is nearly perfect. Aside it from being a Dolby Digital 2.0 mix, the background sounds, music and dialogue come out quite nicely for a 2.0 mix. Aside from an English subtitle option and ads for the CD and the first two PRWF tapes, the extras here are nonexistent. And what's worst, the episodes don't have chapter stops in them, so that you can't access a particular scene, go to the second part of the episode (like in 'White Light'), skip the opening credits, or go to the ending credits - in order to do that, you have to fast forward through the episode. You have 2 ways you can watch the episodes - either you can watch all the episodes together in a movie-like format (here the episodes are chapters), or you can view them each separately. The DVD is the bare minimum: the episodes and nothing else. Also, Disney has failed to make even an animated menu for the DVD... the menu is basically the DVD cover. Aside from a neat collector's edition mini poster included with the DVD, there's no extras to peruse through on the DVD itself. And about 2 more episodes could've been added, such as 'The Power of Pink' and/or 'Protect the Quasar Saber' (considering the 158 minute running time), or a 2-disc set would be better. Overall, the audio and picture quality of all the episodes are good, and the mini-poster is a nice one, but I really would've appreciated some effort in the extras department. If you love any or all of these episodes (and have a DVD player), this DVD is a must. Just don't expect anything more.

Description Little Ray is trying to kill off the seven in an attempt to rule the world. When Christine learns that she is pregnant and that the baby is likely to have the antibody gene, she becomes a target of Little Ray, who kidnaps her. Now, Roland must save her, the baby and perhaps the last hope for mankind. Gary Daniels, Bryan Genesse, Barbara Crampton. Reviews (9)
The infamous 19-shot revolver, the innocent homeless man getting kicked over early in the movie, the mysterious man with a cord coming out of his back, the motorcycle rider that briefly forgets Roland's location after giving him the fiercest expression one could ever imagine, the magical moving mirror hanging on the wall in the highly emotional "beautiful back" scene, the highly skilled two-story-jumping ninjas, the painting-like acting of Gary Daniels, and the non-stop back-flipping action fed to us by the stunt men. This movie is entertaining and is a source for many inside jokes between the viewers. This movie gets three stars for being a comedy and one for an action movie.
I'm not a martial arts fan per se, so it didn't bother me that this movie doesn't have quite as many, nor as flashy, fight scenes as Gary's "Bloodmoon" did. I imagine that martial arts fans will nonetheless appreciate what is in this movie. There isn't exactly a shortage of knockdown martial arts fighting here. What this movie did have, moreso than some of Gary's other films, is an opportunity for Gary to act. He briefly plays two characters, and here one can see that he really can portray a character that is quite unlike the staid, somber hero part that the dialogue/script usually confines him to. It is almost disconcerting to see him playing such an uncharacteristic personality (as the married brother) -- very unlike his performance in any other movie (except perhaps "Spoiler" which also is an odd performance). Gary looks stunning in this movie. He sports a bit of a scruffy, unshaven look here, but it works very well on him. When the camera lingers on Gary's face, as happens in several scenes where he gets to show some emotion, one can see that this face is a work of sheer art -- the pinnacle of male beauty. And Gary's physique is equally as impressive, which he shows off a little in some scenes -- perfectly sculpted, proportionate, and defined. I would have liked to have seen more of a love interest explored. (Unfortunately, very, very few Gary Daniels movies do have a satisfactory plot development in this regard. It's inexplicable that here is one of the prettiest men on film, and yet he never gets a notable love story. Go figure). It also has a sensible (albeit perhaps not exhilarating) plot that could be understood and followed. It isn't just a series of fight scenes cut together. I think that this is one of Gary's best. It has a little bit of everything that you'd find in a Gary Daniels movie, showcased in a favorable way. You may find a better fight scene in Bloodmoon, or even more acting from Gary in Spoiler, or maybe even a more interesting plot in Delta Force or Hawk's Vengeance. But overall, Cold Harvest is a solid movie from him in all regards.
Hmmm, can I recommend it? Well, if you like low-budget action movies, it's certainly not the worst around. The 2 stars are for the non-stop direction by Florentine and maybe half a star for Gary Daniels and his cigar-chomping stance on the video cover. If you're drawn to this movie for Daniels, check out HAWKS VENGEANCE (a better Gary Daniels movie, that is nearing somewhere in the vicinity of entertainment and RAGE, another entertaining but dumb actioner). They're all stupid, but strangely agreeable. ... Read more

A simple and sometimes flawed plot (but who cares) takes a crew of rag-tag SEALs to an island where one of their own (Damian Chapa) has kidnapped a nuclear scientist (Kate Connor) and snatched a few mean looking missles pointed towards the States. The SEALs carry no guns as the island is surrounded by combustible gases so the action is hand to hand all the way (There is one big gun battle in the opening for you Gun-Fu fans). The film stars Michael Worth, who is probably the only "real" actor in the genre that can also move like the big boys and does not disapear behind a stunt man when the action starts. He also adds much needed vunerability to a genre so overloaded with testosterone. He is surrounded by other recognizable and capable faces such as Marshall Teaugue, Hakim Alston, Sophia Crawford and Karen Kim. The film actualy makes an attempt to create empathy for the charactors making the film work even better. Director Isaac Florentine seems to have blended John Woo and Sergio Leone together here giving the film at least a sense of style. He definately knows this genre. Remember, this is no SAVING PRIVATE RYAN but then it doesn't try to be. If you like the independant action films ( you know, a few un intended laughs) and enjoy the stylish action from the Hong Kong School Of Filmmaking, than this DVD is worth the purchase (or at least rental)
The film definately has some of the better fight scenes from the low budget (and even higher budget) American action films. The choreography, as well as the actors themselves, is all top notch. The only thing that kills it though is the VERY over thte yop sound effects. They work fine during a fight, but when someone moves a finger and we hear the same sound....that's a problem. Actor Michael Worth (Ghost Rock) carries the role well, even if he may seem a bit young to be a retired SEAL leader. The writing left him little to do with dialouge, but he makes it his own and remains charming. He seems to be one of those actors that has not quite been noticed by the studios yet but probably will be soon. His co stars Karen Kim and Marshall Teague all work well together and make a good team. The fights are very Hong Kong in style and should be the main point of interest for this film since the premise is all to set up the action. Not much gunning or SEAL tactics, but plenty of spin kicks and some battling babes if that is to your liking.
I have to say hands down this is one of the best action flicks I've seen in a long time. Wow! the long gone characteristic fight scenes that John Woo did are gone and watered down from his films. This film does not do that. It puts the gore John Woo used to have and the creativity of action that John Woo had. The coreography was absolutely marvelous. This had to have been one of the most beautiful set of action sequences put together in a long time. Great points: over-the-top action sequences, brilliant coreography, amazing stunt work, great use of what John Woo had done in the past Bad points: over done sound effects that made it sound way too much like Xena. For example, someone would turn their head and you hear a whoosh sound to make it look dramatic. That could have been left out. Coolest scene: Last fight scene where the two slice the guy in half from bottom up (yes they show the whole thing---OOOWWW!) Most amazing scene: Where Billy and the Japanese (sorry cant remember his name right off the top of my head) guy duke it out with the fast foot work. Coolest John Woo scene: Main character does a front flip and whips out two pistols and unloads. ... Read more

The acting is wooden. My imitations of bad acting are better than this acting. Every scene is stale. I've seen them all before and laughed at them in the past. As was said, this movie makes Van Dam movies seem Oscar worthy. The absolute horrific acting and laughable plot are only amplified by the cheesey and overly dramatic soundtrack. That being said... everyone should have to watch this movie. Just to give you a view of the bottom of film making. This will replace your "*insert insanely better film (any film)* was the worse movie I've ever seen."
The writing, directing, & the acting are just awful, awful, awful!!! One reviewer said that he's seen high-school drama skits that had better acting...and he's right! The thing is, it's very obvious that the stars in this thing were very aware of the script's shortcomings. Marc Singer ("V", "The Beastmaster") actually seems to be enjoying himself in his grunting cave-man-like role of the Austrian General Ziegfield Von Trotta. (What a name!) The other actors, Brolin, Ziering, Palance, & Gibb, actors who have proven that they actually can act (in other shows, that is) seem to be having fun on this grade-z straight-to-video release. The only one who doesn't seem to be enjoying herself is Ashley Laurence, the love interest. She had guest-starred on an episode of "Cheers" a decade-and-a-half ago & so I suspect that she may be a "serious" actress. Well, that's the last thing we need in a movie like this! The premise of the story, in the hands of more competent & serious writers, directors, & producers, would have produced an excellent martial-arts/western fusion film. The story follows the adventures of a former French officer (played by Olivier Gruner, from "Nemesis" & "Angel Town") who leaves Mexico at the end of the war against Maximillian (which coincided with our own Civil War) in search of an Austrian officer (Singer) who murdered his best friend. Along the way, he defends a small ranch from a ruthless railroad man. (Shades of "Shane.") He is also adept at la savate, the French martial-art of kick-boxing. This is a good plot with an unusual, but true to historical-fact premise. Unfortunately, every cliche' from both westerns (especially "Spaghetti Westerns") & martial-arts films (the "Enter The Dragon" dangerous tournament-types) is what makes up this mess! The murder of Gruner's friend by Singer was taken directly from "Once Upon A Time In The West" & even the soundtrack sounds like a Sergio Leone directed epic. I have no problem with the martial-arts (after all, savate was standard training for French officers at this time), but the "tournament" (a bare-knuckle boxing match) has all sorts of fighters from all over the world competing. Not only do we have boxers & wrestlers, but a kung-fu man (okay, there were lots of Chinese working the railroads & the gold-fields of the West at this time) & a capoerista from Brazil! (Now, how did HE get there?) This all takes place in a VERY SMALL TOWN. Why on Earth would anyone hold a tournament like this in a little, tiny town like that? They should've set it in San Francisco or Denver. At least those cities in the West were actually big enough to sponsor these "champions" to come over. To make matters worse, this movie is very, very FUNNY. (Or sad, depending on your outlook. I liked Marc Singer in "V", a thought-provoking anti-fascist science-fiction thriller on tv. But here, he just grunts & growls through the role. But then again, that's how the part of "the general" was written.) So why give it 5 stars instead of 1? As the old show-biz adage goes, "You can make your audiences mad, you can make them sad, you can make them laugh. Just don't bore them!" This movie is NOT boring. It's just VERY stupid!
The plot's cheesy and has been used before, the acting does not approach Shakespearian, but the fight sequences with Gruner are a joy to watch, and it'll hold your interest. I'd watch it again.
Ahhhh, but on to this movie (ha). It is, without doubt, the most untentionally funny movie I've seen in many a year. I can't wait to give it to my son. He will be laughing for days! (I'm sure he will pass it around to all of his friends...it'll leave 'em in stitches!...and hopeful, they won't return it;-). I knew I was in for a "treat" the very first moment this film...oops...movie (film indicates quality) came on. I dare anyone not to double over watching our 'hero' ride (try to ride) his horse as the opening credits scroll on the screen. Every scene thereafter (yes, EVERY scene), presented the viewer with very old cliches, one after another after another. There was never a scene that hasn't been done a hundred times before and a million times better.... Correction! There were a few scenes that nobody in their right mind would EVER do! What makes this flick so funny is the atrocious acting (I've seen grade school skits that had better acting) along with the horrible screenplay (I've heard better dialogue in silent movies!). Folks, you just won't believe the lines these act...uh...'people' spoke...and in front of God and everyone. And as bad as the 'stars' were, the beautiful dark-haired girl in the flimsy top (don't all western women wear these things?), deserved an award for using the same non-descript look whether she was happy, sad, fearful, or excited. (I don't think the director could believe it either, as he kept panning back to her expression, I think to see if it had changed--it didn't). At least she didn't make any pretenses, she looked lost all the way through this flick. And what is with the evil gunslinger? If anything can produce laughing fits, it's this guy's "evil eye". Unless you see it, you won't believe it. Hell, I've seen it, and I still don't believe it! Oh my, how do I rate such a movie? Well, if I thought for one moment that they did this tongue-in-cheek mess on purpose, I'd rate it much higher. After all, it WAS pretty funny in most places, and down right gut-busting in others. However, I can find no evidence of such intelligence, not with the actors, the producers, and ESPECIALLY not the director (other than old 8mm home movies, I suspect that this is his first attempt to direct). Between 1 and 10, "The Fighter" gets a marginal 1. I honestly thought that as expensive as movies are to film, I would never see the likes of this one ever again. I also thought that I would never see a worse movie than "Christopher Columbus -- The Discovery". But I now know that I was wrong.

Description The military regime, left quite helpless in the face of this unchecked crime sets up special squads of police officiers with the object of stamping out and liquidating these revolutionary factions. The film is an account of Drors last day in Israel. He is an outstanding cop whois scheduled to leave the country that very night. Drorssuperior Friedman (Assi Hanegbi) forces him to go out on one last liquidation assignment - to get Schneider (Isaac Florentine), the toughest and most dangerous criminal in the city, formerly a top cop and former best friend of Drors. The movie seeks to combine all elements of a thrilling action flick, a spaghetti western, and a futuristic action - movie, using all the cliches and mannerisms which are so typical of all these. The director Isaac Florentine combines his two passions martial arts and film making. The film went on to be the nomination from Israel to the Academy Awards.
