5-0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic DVD!
I have always been aware of Fleetwood Mac, but for some reason never got into them..til now! It's primarily because of this DVD and accompanying CD. I stumbled across the CD in my husband's collection and thought it was great. After buying the 2CD greatest hits collection, I figured my DVD assortment needed a bit of Mac, so I went for THE DANCE. I was not disappointed.
This DVD is absolutely fantastic. The sound is great, the picture is excellent, the song selection hits all the classic material, and the band just blows me away. Many of the songs, like "Say You Love Me," "Big Love" and "Landslide," come across even better here than the original studio cuts. Although Stevie Nicks isn't hitting all the high notes in songs like "Dreams," opting to hit lower notes that fit in the song, she still sounds great. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie pack a powerful bottom end punch. Christine McVie, even though looking bored at times throughout the show, sounds crystal clear (and her song "Temporary One" is a major highlight). My favorite is watching Lindsey Buckingham play his unique style of guitar, which I have become enamoured with. A particular favorite moment is his solo rendition of "Big Love." Too quote one Jeff Spicoli, "Awesome. Totally awesome!" One final added bonus, and missing from the CD, is Christine McVie's playing of "Songbird" at the end of the show.
I honestly can't find a bad thing to say about this disc. Whether you're a seasoned Fleetwood Mac fan, just starting your collection, or just looking for a video version of their best material, this DVD should hit the spot!

5-0 out of 5 stars exelent!!!
This dvd was exelent I dont know how people come up with the idea of it being over produced and too much back ground people. some people need to just get a life!! Some of the highlights were Lindsey Buckingham's Go Your Own Way, My Little Demond, Tusk. I did not like this version of Big Love i hated go insane and Bleed to love her. all of stevie's songs especally Gold Dust Woman and Silver Springs. I was very disapointed when Stand Back was not encluded. that is A Stevie Solo song Fleetwood mac plays my mom alway regreted going to the Dance concert but they did not play any were near us because of Mcvie was "Tiered!!" I've seen Stevie live 3 times in '94 (i was only 7)'98, and 2001 Trouble In Shangri-la and stand back was exelent. I love this song live and for some reason her voice sonds better and stronger in her 2001 tour. Stevie is a great performer she has so much energy on stage unlike Christen Mcvie who is boring on stage. but her songs were all pretty good i loved Over My Head her voice has not changed a bit. Jhon Mcvie is Very boring also. I don't like him much. And i did not see his lips move once when he was singing in You MakeLoving Fun. Mick Fleetwood is very funny and intertaning he puts on a great show. but over all this was a great DVD. I suggest it to Any Fleetwood Mac/Stvie fan. i also suggest Stevie Nicks live in Red Rocks Its just as good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Stevie, Thank You Lindsey!!
Like my title refers to a moment of the concert, after Nicks sang Landslide, i believe they were so emotionals like fans of this extraordinary band like me when we see this concert. A lot of problems have passed, John & Christie divorce because of alcohol addiction of him, Lindsey mocking of Stevie on stage and making her cry ,etc., was part of the cost of success, now, back on stage, they seem to be fine with each other, a family like in the old times.
The band sounds maybe not better than before, but yesterday's gone, I agree My Little Demon is no a very good song, some of their Say You Will is far better, but the concert is all the story in music of this Megaband in a good shape and intact talent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fleetwood Mac triumphs with '97 Reunion Performance!
This is the performance that introduced this legendary rock band to a new generation in the late 1990's. This is Fleetwood Mac's first performance together in over 10 years, since Lindsey left the band in 1987, filmed live on a LA soundstage before many of Hollywood's elite. The entire band rocks out on every single song - there is not one bad performance on this DVD. The sound of the band and the quality of the DVD sound is EXCELLENT. Above all, the interaction between band members, particularly Lindsey & Stevie, is PRICELESS. As Stevie Nicks said of this performance "As magic as it gets, it was." Stevie Nicks proves her standing as The Queen of Rock on every song, turning on all of her trademark moves, not to mention looking and sounding incredibly beautiful. Christine McVie, equally as graceful and beautiful, treats the audience to a few of her Fleetwood Mac hits, and Lindsey proves that Fleetwood Mac just isn't the same without him. The audience is treated to a few surprises, including an emotional "Landslide" (the version you hear on the radio was taken from this performance) which shows clear reconsiliation between Lindsey & Stevie, a visit from the USC marching band on "Tusk" (they also played on the "Tusk" album)and an AWESOME performance between Lindsey & Stevie of her Grammy nominated "Silver Springs". The album version of this performance was nominated for a Grammy & went to #1 on the charts - you'll wonder why it didn't win an Oscar for best real-life drama after you see this one! The only set back is that "Stand Back" and "Little Lies" are not included on this performance, yet you couldn't ask for more after you finish watching it! This DVD proves why Fleetwood Mac is one of rock's most legendary bands! You'll watch it over and over again!

1-0 out of 5 stars Stevie Nicks, go back to drugs....
Nicks voice is horrible, watched in horror as she tried to belt out her songs, forget it, find another singer for this band, Stevie has no longer got it... god help FM..... ... Read more

From the first cock-a-doodle-doo to the last twinkling little star, A Day at Old MacDonald's Farm pulses joyfully with song, dance, and a barnyard full of activity. A passel of city kids arrives for a taste of sunny country life. Before night falls, they make a scrumptious breakfast, do chores around the mulberry bush, attend school with Mary's little lamb, and whoop it up at the old ball game. Their field-trip hosts include a high-stepping scarecrow, Gran and Gramps McDonald, and the usual four-legged farmy suspects. Together, this energetic cast belts out 10 perennial favorites, including "Skip to My Lou," "This Old Man," and, of course, the title song. A funky rock & roll score keeps the excitement building as one song piggybacks on the next. This delightful 30-minute show, produced in 1985, easily should appeal to little music lovers ages 7 and under. --Liane Thomas ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best video ever!
My 19 month old son stops for nothing...except this video. He was mesmerized from the first time he saw it, and he begs to watch it at least once a day. We have other videos that we've borrowed, but he doesn't even act like they're on. Old MacDonald's Farm is great! Kids, songs, animals, dancing...it's got it all! I highly recommend this to anyone with kids!

5-0 out of 5 stars * Magical *
I got this music video for my son who is 2 years and 10 months. He loves going to the farm and looking at farm animals. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Christmas morning my son opened his present and demanded to watched it right away. He could not stop. He absolutly loves it and gets very excited every time he watches it. It truly brings the magic of going to the farm. I love to watch my little one when he watches his video and see how his eyes glow of delight.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kidsongs - A Day at Old MacDonald's Farm
Highly Recommended! My 18 month old daughter just loves this DVD. Lots of good music, dancing and fun. A must have for any children's dvd collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars A winner!
My 1 year old twins generally need to watch a new video at least twice before they like it but they were enthralled by this video from the beginning. Perhaps it is because they were already familiar with some of the songs, and perhaps it is also because they see lots of children singing in the video. Whatever the reasons, my girls really enjoy this video, and personally I think it is great too, and very suitable for the little ones. I highly recommend this video to anyone with infants and young children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gotta love the Kidsongs!
This DVD features the usual "perfect" children in different zoo, farm and aquarium settings. Many songs are standards and familiar. My 2-1/2 year old can sing most of the chorus'. The best thing about this DVD...it's kid-friendly auto-start feature. No menus to page through. Perfect for those DVD players in the car!

5-0 out of 5 stars Shawn's Mom
My son absolutely loves this video! He is 13 mos. and his face lights up as soon as he hears BINGO! My husband and I also like it because it has songs that are enjoyable to listen to.

"that one is my baborite" - my two year old loves this video, and it doesn't have any commercials at the beginning like many of our other videos. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kidsongs Rules
I haven't seen this video in quite some time now, but when Kidsongs was still on the air, I used to watch it everyday. There are many great songs on this particular tape, but my most favorite (that I would always rewind) is the song called "Harmony." I really love that song. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The greatest show on Earth
This 1998 Rolling Stones dvd is probably the best " live " dvd ever issued. The tape joins my other concert dvds on the shelf.
The sounds are crystal clear. The dvd opens up with shots of the
band's limo pulling up to the concert location. The show kicks off with Keith Richards leading the band out on stage with the powerful opening chords of " Satisfaction ". The show continues at a pace that never slows down. The dvd features enthusiastic
versions of " Let's Spend The Night Together " and " Honky Tonk
Women ", a great cover of Bob Dylan's " Like A Rolling Stone ",
and a song sung by Keith ( " I Wanna Hold You " ). Also, " Start
Me Up ", " Jumping Jack Flash ", " Miss You ", " It's Only Rock
'N' Roll ", " You Can't Always Get What You Want ", and " Tumbl-
ing Dice " are all thrown in. The dvd also features Dave Matthews
sharing the stage ( and microphone ) with Mick on a heartbreaking
" Wild Horses ", and saxophonist Joshua Redman plays a solo on
" Waiting On A Friend ". The highlight to me, however, is a
" haunting " performance of " Gimmie Shelter ". The only thing bad about the show is the three new songs " Flip The Switch ",
" Saint Of Me ", and " Out Of Control ". Also, when the Stones visit their website to see which song their fans want to see them
perform ( the winner was " Waiting On A Friend " ), we realized that there were many great songs they could have done ( " She's A
Rainbow ", " Under My Thumb ", " When The Whip Comes Down ",
" Love In Vain ", " Respectable ", " Fool To Cry " ). The dvd's final number is a great " Brown Sugar ". This show is perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still the best live band in the world
This 1998 dvd of the Stones' 1997 tour to promote the " Bridges To Babylon " album is the best thing to happen since " sliced
bread ". The dvd opens up with the Stones walking out on the
stage as Keith Richards blasts out the opening chords of
" Satisfaction ". Just make yourself a big bowl of popcorn, and
it's almost like you're there. The evening commences with delightful versions of " Let's Spend The Night Together " and
" Honky Tonk Women ", a showstopping " Sympathy For The Devil ",
and a chilling " Gimmie Shelter ", with Keith still playing the
tremelo rhythm on guitar. The album is features a lead vocal by
Keith ( I Wanna Hold You ) and a cover of a Bob Dylan song
( " Like A Rolling Stone " ). It also features guest appearances by Dave Matthews, who shares the mic with Mick on a beautiful
" Wild Horses ", and saxophnist Joshua Redman, who solos on
" Waiting On A Friend ". We also get songs like " It's Only
Rock 'N' Roll ", " Miss You ", " You Can't Always Get What You
Want ", " Jumpin' Jack Flash ", " Start Me Up ", and " Tumbling
Dice " thrown in the mix. After we see the Stones bow out at the
end, it almost makes you wish that Bill Wyman, Brian Jones and
Mick Taylor were there. But even if it's only Keith, Mick and
Charlie there, it's still a great show. The show has great sound.
The screams are loud and clear. This a perfect album for any
Stones lover

5-0 out of 5 stars Stones live 1998
Excellent Stones concert. IMO Gimmie Shelter, It's Only Rock and Roll, Waiting on a Friend and Flip The Switch are the highlights. Keith is very strong thoughout. I don't have the other Stones DVDs- so I can't compare. Having said that, I've seen the Stones in concert many times (starting in 78). This is an excellent show.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable
Great sound, great picture, excellent performance. Jagger is in fine form, and his vocals are very good.
Sometimes a singer will sound less than enthusiastic when doing a song for the 1000th time, but that is never the case here (well, almost never).

This two-hour concert recording includes Keith Richards doing a wonderful "I Wanna Hold You" (a non-album track) in a surprisingly strong voice, and a fine set list with "Satisfaction" as an energetic opener, as well as several well-executed classics.
The band is excellent; Richards' guitar work is tight, and bass guitarist Darryl Jones and the other backing musicians help drummer Charlie Watts keep things in place.

A very enjoyable performance. 4 1/2 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE
This is a MUST HAVE if you like the Rolling Stones. This DVD has excellent sound quality and visual quality. This is the best Rolling Stones DVD on the market. This covers 40 years of hits with today's dvd technology. ... Read more

Silly Willy and Silly Jilly dressed in Mary Poppins-meets-the Music Man regalia lead the singing kids through Silly Dillyville in this Kidsongs outing. The 11 tunes include standards like "The Name Game" (the song that rhymes every name with "bo-banna, fe-fi-fo-fanna..."), "Down by the Bay," "Michael Finnegan" and "Purple People Eater." Each song features characters that introduce the songs. So Billy Daffidilly sings about his eccentric mother, Professor Quackenbush describes the one-eyed violet beast (who also makes an appearance), and Farmer Phil shows off his straw-hatted iguana, a hen pulling a cart, and an owl that performs no discernable tricks in "Fiddle-I-Fee." The whole "town" joins in for the "Do the Silly Willy" finale, featuring Willy rapping in his candy-striped jacket. This 27-minute program was shot at Universal Studios in North Hollywood, California, and a tour of its attractions rolls under the credits. Aimed at ages 1 to 8. --Kimberly Heinrichs ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "La Luna" takes you to the moon and back....
I don't know what Angel Records was thinking when they released the VHS version of the La Luna concert. Five songs were missing, the songs were presented out of order, and the sound quality was sorely lacking. But with the release of the La Luna DVD Sarah Brightman fans are treated to the complete concert version of La Luna, as well as over 90 minutes of extras such as a tour map, backstage footage, interviews, and the music video for "A Whiter Shade of Pale." Sarah's innovative staging, crystalline voice and gorgeous costumes are captured brilliantly on this DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sarah Brightman Fans - You won't be disappointed!
Watched the La Luna concert DVD three times last weekend. It was great! I heard the VHS version is not very good with bad editing and inferior sound quality. Rest assured that the DVD treatment of Ms. Brightman's latest concert tour is magnificent. Sarah's performance was out of this world. She truly is the "angel of music"!

My favorite tracks were "Winter Shade of Pale", "Nessun Dorma", "Moon River", and the spectacular "A Question of Honour". I also enjoyed the bonus materials very much. It's nice to see Sarah's behind the scenes stuff. Not only is she a great singer and performer, Sarah is also a sweet and down-to-earth person. How many stars actually sign autographs and take pictures after their shows? Sarah did! I am anxiously waiting for her next CD and tour!

The sound quality of the DVD is breathtaking. Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS Digital Surrond. Wow! Furthermore, it's wonderful that you can turn on the on-screen lyrics. Nice touch. The only thing I would love in the future will be some interactive DVD content that can be played in the DVD-ROM of a computer, e.g. screen savers, photo gallery, web links, etc.

In closing, this is a must buy DVD for any Sarah Brightman fan. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Entertainment
I recently took my father to see Sarah Brightman on her 'Harem' tour, having previously seen Sarah myself on the 'La Luna' tour. She never disapoints. She is an incomperable performer and singer, and my dad doesn't get out much, being disabled, and I had never seen him so excited than he was at that concert. I had given him all my Sarah concerts on VHS when I moved and bought a DVD player, and everytime he's alone in the house, he says he watches them. The video on La Luna is not as good as the DVD, but watching this concert, and being at the real thing, I could barely tell the difference. 'Moon River' is one of my favorite songs, and I was so delighted when she came out for an encore, sat down on a piece of stage equipment, and just crooned it to the audience, just as she does in the DVD. The fireworks display on "Question of Honour" is almost as spectacular as it was in person, too. Well worth the buy, if you're a fan, or if you'd like some mood music playing on the TV for a dinner party or something. It's beautiful to watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favourite Concert
I love this Concert, is a combination of Beautiful Music, Beautiful voice, a great show!! I always recommend this DVD to my friends, Sarah Brightman looks beautiful, LA LUNA is one of the most beautiful Albums from Sarah Brightman so you don't be dissapointed GREAT!!

My 3 month old daughter loves this dvd. She moves her hands and taps her feet to the music. She even coos when her favourite songs start. She loves the conga and the mexican hat dance. In fact she loves the entire thing. I can't wait for her reactions when she actually is old enough to dance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kidsongs: I Can Dance!
This episode is awfully talented! Each Kidsongs VHS tells a story. This one is about, you guessed it! Dances! The Kidsongs Kids teach Ruby and Billy how to dance. All of the songs in this VHS are cool. The songs that are included in this adventure are:

"I Can Dace!"
"Dancing In The Street"
"Chaleston"
"Don't You Just Love To Waltz?"
"Twist And Shout"
"Mexican Hat Dance"
"The Yellow Rose Of Texas"
"Come On And Conga"
"Barefootin'
"Mashed Potato Time"
"At The Hop"
"I Can Dance"

My 3 years old baby-sitting charge Garfield can't get enough of that VHS. He and I just love to watch it! If you are a Kid-At-Heart you will love it too. I am 17 years old. "Kidsongs" was and still is my fave TV-Show.

The kids in these videos are so talented!! My 14 month-old daughter loves this show, and so do I! It is so entertaining, but mostly it is very educational. It shows dances from different cultures, as well as from different eras of the U.S. It is high-energy and fun to mimick! It's nice to have this kind of music and dance in my child's viewing rather than some of the stuff on television these days. Thank you Bruce, for producing such a fabulous array of dvd's for our children. We love all of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vintage Brilliance by Genius Brian.
I have to be honest when I first brought this DVD I didn't even have a DVD player, I knew something this special could not be on the old Prehistoric VCR I just had to get it.

I looked at the back and to my surpirse Ricky Martin singing Beach Boys classics, something I could never have thought. (Well done awsome songs)

I have seen Brian in concert and I have seen the Beach boys in concert in the last 15 months I honestly never thought that something like this would come out... I have seen tributes to Paul McCartney, Sammy Davis Jr. and Bob Dylan I never though something like that would ever be done for Brian Wilson but he deserves it......

There is rock legend's all around this DVD Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Elton John, David Crosby the list just keeps on going....

All of everyones favorite Beach Boys songs are played including the Masterpeices Good Vibrations and Surfs Up. Performed by these Rock and Roll Legends....

Movie Star tributes from Racheal Hunter, Dennis Hopper and Chazz Palminteri........

Appearances are: Ricky Martin, Paul Simon, Go-Go's, David Crosby, Carly Simon, Jimmy Webb, Vince Gill, Evan and Jaron, Elton John, Aimee Mann and Michael Penn, Billy Joel, Darius Rucker (Hootie), Matthew Sweet, Wilson Phillips, Heart, Jubilant Sykes, The boys Choir of Harlem and The Radio city Orchastra.

When you have back up singers like those people you know that the show will be really spectacular.....

However the only downer is that My favourite Beach Boys song has been cut in half Barbara Ann has been cut sevearly.... That song and Fun, Fun, Fun is performed with all of the special guests on stage..... Also included is a real unique Special Features, for more info Buy the CD........

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Vibrations!
We now own this treasured gift of music, joy and pure (quality) entertainment! BEST All-Star Tribute ever! Just a few we skip past---MANY MORE we replay over and over and OVER again. When we need our spirits lifted--we have a sure thing. Jaw-dropping performances by Vince Gill, Darius Rucker & Matthew Sweet, Billy Joel, Elton John, Heart, adorable David Crosby and the precious BRIAN WILSON. The back-up musicians, The Wondermints, are incredible. The DVD David Crosby interview is delightful. To combine the music of Brian and the Beachboys--with the voices from the late 60's, 70's and 80's is a heart-moving treat. (BEST: Warmth of the Sun, Surf's Up and Sail On Sailor...WOW!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Why the complaint?
Amazon's specs show this DVD as a widescreen letterbox release instead of anamorphic. If you bought it in a physical store and were going by the specs on the back cover, you might have read "this film is presented in widescreen format" or something like that. The key with releases from Image, Warner, and perhaps some others is that for anamorphic releases that language is followed by "Enhanced for widescreen televisions."

I agree this concert should have been released in anamorphic format, but it's fabulous nonetheless.

3-0 out of 5 stars DVD specs misleading, is *not* anamorphic widescreen!
Just a word of caution, I bought this DVD as it was advertised to be in 16:9 widescreen format, and I recently bought a widescreen HDTV set.

Only when I got home and played it I discovered that it's in a 'fixed' widescreen format (i.e. black bars are encoded into the fullscreen picture) as opposed to the more commonly anamorphic widescreen format.

So what I eventually got was a widescreen version surrounded by four black bars! I guess TNT hasn't produced too many DVD's yet for the marketplace, but they better check their video production values the next time, this one sucks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Live Audio Mix
First off, fast forward past the Ricky Martin stuff (what were they thinking?). For me, the concert begins with Paul Simon and his wonderful interpretation of Surfer Girl.

Before buying this DVD I didn't know much about Vince Gill and hearing him sing "The Warmth Of The Sun" totally blew me away. Sometimes I put on this DVD just to hear Vince sing this song. "Surf's Up" is also excellent.

Another favorite performance is Aimee Mann & Michael Penn singing "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times". Just amazing.

Some terrific performances, some good performances, some ok performances.

This DVD is well worth the money. As a musician, I especially appreciate the audio mix and the camera work. The mix is excellent and I recommend playing it loud. It's a great show. ... Read more

This Nickelodeon sketch comedy series hosted by young comedienne Amanda Bynes is as fresh today as during its 1999-2000 run with still-timely jabs at reality shows, teen dramas, and fan obsession. Byne and her young castmates manage to have a goofily good time at no one's expense. In these two 22-minute episodes (#214 and #217), the cast manages to skewer hillbillies and (unidentifiable) immigrants without offending, probably because the other characters get theirs, as well, including a hapless Danny Bonaduce as an outraged video store customer. JudgeTrudy and her bailiff survive a reality-show challenge in the middle of an Oklahoman parking lot, Mr. Gullible tries to be a good sport during a school fire drill, and Penelope Taint, Amanda's no. 1 fan, is able to prove her case. This innuendo-free comedy is appropriate for all ages, but will be most understood by ages 7 and older. --Kimberly Heinrichs ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars HOT
After working on the Amanda Show on the First Season as Lobster #2, the show is HOT!!!! I still love tuning into the NICKELODEON channel and watching.

Amanda Bynes is nothing less than Super and all of the cast was so great. That is why this show deserves a ***** rating.

Love it,

Tom Huben

5-0 out of 5 stars This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that the Amanda Show is the best show on Nickelodeon. I can't believe they are not making any new episodes any more. I loved this show since the first time I saw it. No one can watch this show and not laugh out loud. I can't believe it is finally coming to DVD. I will watch this DVD all the time. My favorite character is Mr. Gullible. He is the best and funniest character. I also really like Courtney, who is played by Amanda. She is so funny and weird. I can't wait until this DVD comes out. I am going to get it the first day it comes out and watch it 2 or 3 times. Then I am going to show it to all my friends. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who watches it will love it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Could've Been Better....
This was my first DVD, so initially I was all excited because I didn't know any better. I mean, this had to have been done in a rush. The first season of American Idol had so many wonderful performances and I just don't understand why the makers wanted to be so stingy about supplying us, the fans, with those performances! There is one performance for each finalist except for EJ, AJ, and RJ. There are two performances each for Kelly, Justin, and Nikki. I know Christina Christian didn't make the top three (which she should've) but the DVD would've been much better if there were more performances by her (especially her rendition of Glory Of Love). There are a few group songs that are good, the bonus extras are fine, but the entire thing could've been much better. With the low price, it's still worth buying though.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not highly impressed!
I consider myself to be an avid fan of American Idol. I came across the first season by accident, when I was sitting at home on a Tuesday night, and happened to turn on the tv to FOX. Ryan Star was singing at the time. When I heard that they came out with a DVD on American Idol, I assumed that it would be the ENTIRE SEASON. I was mistaken! Out of the 10 top finalists, you only get to view 5 out of the 10 do at least one solo performance. Kelly and Justin do 3-4, Niki does 2, Tamyra does one, and Christina Richin does 1. The DVD did a lot of recaps and behind the scenes, but still it wasn't enough to be worth while. It's ovious that American Idol is a hit, and the producers should think highly of doing a COMPLETE SEASON set of BOTH the FIRST & SECOND season!!

4-0 out of 5 stars I sure wish I could be on there, don't you all?
I think American Idol is such a cool idea. We all know that we secretly wish we were on there ourselves. So for all of you people judging, think of what it took for all of the singers to get that far. They even inspired me to sing myself, I bought a voice lesson Cd off Amazon- Voice Lessons To Go by Vaccarino, and I am listening to all my favorite artists and singing all the time. A group of my friends got together for Karaoke the other night- cool place- rented the room out, and I promise you I impressed. These singers are awesome. And learning to sing myself is teaching me how hard they really do work.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite DVDs
In the words of Randy, this DVD, "Did it's thang dawg!" I absolutely loved it. I only have one complaint about it. First, this movie didn't show many of the performances by the singers (they don't show ANY of EJay's and Jim's performance, not even in the extra features). They should have a section of EVERY performance by all of the singers, even in the Top 30.

Overall, this DVD was absolutely amazing. Brain was extremely funny in many sections of the show. I loved that section with the judges (I think it's called "When Judges Attack."). Wonderful!

But there's one more thing, why don't they have Season 2 and Season 3???

1-0 out of 5 stars UGGHHHHH!!!!
First of all, this show sucks in every single way that it is possible for a show to suck. They have run the gamut. You have your reality TV suck-factor (ALL "reality" TV shows are utterly dispicable), your arrogant, pompous, condescending, prissy, whiny, obnoxious, needs-to-just-keel-over-and-die British retard suck-factor (Simon, of course), your cutesy, trendy, demographically appealing American host with perpetually disheveled hair suck-factor (Ryan Seacrest, who I also hate), your long-irrelevant, obsolete, washed-up has-been who suddenly inexplicably feels she has a right to rate others suck-factor (the never-talented Paula Abdul), and of course then there's the contestants, who (whether they can sing or not) invariably pick the most inane, tepid, lame, schlocky, redundant, idiotic, pointless songs you could ever be unfortunate enough to hear on the worst lite-rock station in Kansas. ANYBODY who likes the kind of music they promote on "American Idol" needs to be tossed to the lions, and supposing Hell exists, I cannot imagine a better group of people to condemn to it than the people responsible for this show, which provides us all with a little slice of Hell here on earth. Coming soon to a casino lounge, wedding, or bar mitzvah near you: it'sthe contestants of American Idol. This 90-minute highlights recap extendsthe proverbial 15 minutes of fame for the hopefuls who galvanized the nation asthey contended for a recording contract. This talent show--part Star Search, part The Gong Show, part A Chorus Line--was an instantpop-culture phenomenon, but the breakout star of this series was arguably notwinner Kelly Clarkson, she of the powerhouse voice, or even runner-up Jason Guarini, he of the SideshowBob hair. One of the judges, record producer Simon "Prince of Darkness" Cowell, emerged as the show's villain who audiences loved to hate. (A bonus segment onthis DVD, "When Judges Attack," replays Simon's nastiest feuds with disgruntledcontestants and fellow judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.) Relive the agony (staged comedy bits and bloopers with series hosts Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman, who, if nothing else, gave Saturday Night Live's Jimmy Fallon a prime target for parody), the triumphant solo performances, the cheesy ensemble numbers that went out with Up with People, and the onstage drama over who America would next vote offstage (the Tamyra Gray contingent is no doubt still in shock). On the DVD, a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage documenting each stage of the contest process should satisfy Idol-philes. --Donald Liebenson ... Read more

Baby Animals corrals a crew of kids who could have been lifted off the fashion spread of a Sears circular and looses them at a petting zoo, where they frolic merrily alongside its plastic-like proprietress. This being a Kidsongs' program (circa 1995), there's no goose-taunting or monkey-mocking; instead, the gang sings and dances its way through duck ponds, bear pits, and tiger pens, oozing professional-child-performer phoniness with every kick, grin, and twirl. Sheep steal the spotlight for "Woolly Bully"; "Great Big Beautiful Doll" is spun into a baby elephant serenade; "Jeepers Creepers" surveys the peepers of creatures great, small, adorable, and slimy; and "Yes! We Have No Bananas" slips us a sequence of much-needed monkey business. Their incorruptible cuteness aside, there's only so much these critters can do to tone down the kids' goody-two-shoes antics. Buy it only if your preschooler can swallow corniness so kicked up it could make Barney recoil. --Tammy La Gorce ... Read more
