1-0 out of 5 stars Forget it
I thoroughly rotten movie desecrating a thoroughly wonderful book. What were they thinking?

5-0 out of 5 stars A different Breed of Brotherly Love
What can really be said about "Watchers" and "Watchers 2." Based loosely (and boy do I mean loosely) on the novel by Dean R. Koontz, these movies are the story of a dog and his brother... a genetically enginerread military monster. These are the kinds of movies, that as kids scare the hell out of us, that we forget when we grow older. Then one day when were in the video store, or fliping around bad cable, we see it once again, and we realize hows not scary, but still good they are.

I grew up in a house that loved cheesy B horror moives, so Watchers was just one on a long list. I had completely forgot about it until one day I was going throuh my bookcase and found the paperback novel. Not remember much about the movie (other than Corey Haim was in it), I came here to amazon, and purchased my copy. When I recieved it, I poped it in a watched both films.

The first movie, although cheaply done, was in face pretty good. The acting wasn't great, but it was much better than expected, and the speical effects were half bad. The Second movie I hate to say, had a much better script, but worse acting and budgets.

If your a fan of 80s B Horror, movies this is definatly worth a look, or at least a rental. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Olivier Gruner gets...to Mars
Caution Templar (Olivier Gruner) recieves a desperate message from his brother Ino and hurries to Mars. But, when he gets there he finds his brother is dead, and a mystery unfolds that could rock the sinister company that rules the planet to its core. Caution fights his way to the truth in a battle that threatens to turn the Red Planet red with blood.

The first time I viewed this movie, on VHS, I didn't like it at all, I thought it was very poorly done and I gave it a 2/5 high-score. Recently though, I picked it up on DVD and noticed behind Olivier Gruner's bad dubbing, making him sound like a dumb body-builder, there is a great action movie. The plot maybe nothing special but this movie has more fighting
than any movie Olivier has been in. From hand-to-hand fights to gun fights, this movie has it all. Olivier really shows that he has the skill to be a real action-star in this movie.

One downfall of the movie is its special effects, mainly at the beginning. When Caution arrives on Mars the ship looks like something out of a computer game from 1995. Where Velocity Trap had great special effects and decent fights, Mars has great fights and okay special effects.

Overall, this movie is worth seeing, the only real down turns in my oppinion are the bad dubbing and special effects, along with some pointless sex-scenes. The DVD transfer is pretty good as well, the DVD does come with a Trailer and Cast Bios, which is more than some other DVDs we have seen.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dumb as they come.
You know a movie is trash when the main actor's voice is dubbed by someone else. The best actor in this film is David Hyde White as our uber-bad guy. Everyone else makes me think that even I could do a better job. The characters are one dimensional, unlikeable, and are really just there to provide an excuse for Olivier Gruner to kick some [butt]. What a waste!
I've seen better from Gruner too. Try 'Nemesis' or 'Automatic'. At least he gets to use his own voice!

2-0 out of 5 stars Slow moving Sci-fi/Martial arts action
Its not the worst movie in the world.Oliver Gruner acting is one of his best to date as he dosen't say much.....thankfully.Its a good buy for Martial arts fans but Sci-fi fans are left expecting more.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mars
This is the most wasted time movies in my life of 30+ yrs. Buy this video now and regret forever!

2-0 out of 5 stars Mars
Nice action for Olivier, decent plot but lacks a good script, and Olivier's voice for some strange reason, does not sound at all like him. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A really intriguing flick with alot turns.
I found the movie to have Comedy, Action, and enough turns to still keep me happy until the very end of the movie. If you like CIA conspiracies, then this movie is a must buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Crummy ... a Wonderful Series
"Crash and Byrnes" is, at best, the worst movie ever made when compared to the series it tries to mimic, "Waize and Means." Instead of Bobby Waize and Russel Means we are presented with two awful characters no one cares about. The plot for CAB borrows heavily from the first Waize and Means movie: "Congressman Columbia: A Waize & Means Adventure," as well as the fourth: "Kurds and Leans: Another Waize & Means Adventure." Other great movies in this series are "Waize & Means 2: Commander Cow," as well as the seminal "THE WAIZE AND MEANS COMMITTEE." Also don't forgot to check out the series, "Kurds and Leans," to see a lighter, more comidic take on the theme. ... Read more
