4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Episodes. Not so great extras
The DVD version of this series is dangerous because the story arch is so compelling you'll find yourself sitting and watching episode after episode unable to stop just to see what happens next. If you've already seen the shows you'll watch them in great anticipation of those dynamic character moments contained in each episode (Yo-Yo Ma at the White House, sparing between the Bartletts, the moment when Donna learns of the President's medical condition). It's incredibly enjoyable to spend time with these characters and Mr. Sorkin's writing tickles us and touches our hearts such that we're reluctant to leave this amazing world and these equally amazing people who populate it.

The unfortunate part of the DVD package is the extras. The commentaries are just plain awful. They are stilted, awkward and boring, offering very little insight into the making of the show, backstage with the actors or any technical information - or what we're all hoping for -- some real gossip. In the published scripts of the show, Mr. Sorkin has written introductions which provide fascinating anecdotes about what was going on around the construction of the script and/or what was the inspiration for the story. That doesn't happen on the DVD. The outtakes or gag reel is short and not very satisfying. And where are the taped interviews with the actors and show's creators? I wonder if the departure from West Wing by Mr. Sorkin and Mr. Schlamme (which seemed to happen not be their choice) has created a situation in which pulling together some meaningful documentary regarding this significant television drama undoable.

Buy the DVDs to watch the episodes over and over (and you will, I'm sure). Buy the published scripts for the real "behind the scenes" stuff that adds a bit of color and depth to an already deeply colorful and moving television show.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic First Season & Superb Second Season
I didn't start watching The West Wing till early in the second season, but it quickly became my favorite show (replacing Aaron Sorkin's other masterpiece, 'Sports Night', which had just been dropped by ABC). It was killing me that I'd missed so many episodes, so I was ecstatic when I heard that Warner was finally releasing the first season on DVD! Having the episodes on DVD is great, even for episodes you've seen. If you've seen The West Wing, you know how rapid-fire the dialogue is; with DVD, it's easy to back up a few seconds to catch a line you missed.

Sorkin is an amazing writer. He is able to weave a compelling and entertaining storyline involving real issues facing our country and world. The characters debate those issues in a way that illuminates both sides of the argument. You'll likely find yourself thinking, 'I'd never looked at it that way', at least a couple times every episode. It may be fiction, but it is fiction that inspires hope that our political system CAN work.

The show is definitely a thought-provoking drama, but that certainly doesn't mean it's dry or boring. There is a huge dose of witty banter and a fair share of light-hearted sub-plots in every episode. Great writing, great acting, great sets and music, all come together to form what has become my favorite TV show ever. Get these DVD's to get caught up on early episodes you missed, or to revisit the incredible beginnings of this masterpiece.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful film finally available...
In this film we have: The alcoholic son; the homosexual son who is trying to be heterosexual to please himself and his family; the overlooked daughter and her husband with marital issues; the ultra conservative, emotionally unavailable father who is extremely hard on his children; and the mother who cares WAY too much what other people think and would rather hide behind a lie she has known for quite sometime. Not to mention the poor girl who thinks her fiance is straight, has to face her own pain in finding otherwise.
For a TV movie, this film is great. This is about a dysfunctional family. It is not only a "coming out" story, but also about an alcoholic son portrayed by Jim Carrey, who, along with the daughter's husband, seem to be the only people who can see how screwed up the family really is. The gay son, who on this occasion, brings home his new fiance, is forced to come out of the closet. He is so used to trying to put a pretty face on everything and not showing things for what they really are...which he seems to get from his parents. Basically, all at one time the s--t hits the fan, so to speak. It is definitely not an uplifting film, but shows how a dyfunctional family who hides their secrets and refuse to come to terms with their problems, will eventually fall apart and have to find a way to rebuild again, on different terms, through unconditional love and support. This is a wonderful film to show teenage children the dangers of alcoholism, and how important it is to love and support your children unconditionally regardless of their issues and sexual orientation. It can show the catastrophic results that can and usually will occur when people don't face their problems. What should parents care more about, their family image or their children? This would be great to show Jr. High, High School, and College students. I saw it when I was in high school and it helped me tremendously. I then showed it to a friend in college struggling with his sexuality and his religious parents who would not accept him. He came to terms with it as did his parents. They now accept him for who he is. Just goes to show how facing your problems and trying to understand an issue, will only help you and your loved ones in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars woah
i just bought a bootleg tape of this a couple weeks ago and now i kind of regret it. ill just say that this movie is surprisingly great for a tv movie and its one of jim carrey's best performances. cant wait to see what special features come with it.

this 1992 made-for-tv movie was excellent, but, who really ever expected to see it anywhere but bootlegged on ebay? i hope to see more details soon, specifically what extras are going to be included. william mcnamara and jim carey (yep, "the" face) were both very good in this dramatic coming-out story. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars just for the record
Just for the record the 12th cavalry regiment was dismounted not mechanised on 28 feb 1943,so the threat of swapping the horse for armour is irrelevant. There are many references to the Mexican campaign but they also dont hold water ,the 12th cavalry simply did not participate in the punitive expedition. The only history in this movie is the bonus march, which blends from real footage to modern footage almost fluidly. The film is a bit of fun and it is always nice to see the US army prior to Pearl Harbour. The Australian outback looks wonderful as economic alternative to expensive US location. You all probably think i hate this movie but i actually really like it,its just not a true story and HBO should know better, but its cavalry and it will have to do until someone makes a movie based on Marsmen In Burma. Thanks for your time, allons.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS REALLY A GREAT MOVIE
Quite a sleeper - never heard of it - but what a great movie !!

5-0 out of 5 stars Recommeded, with some Reservations...
Taking into consideration the fact that most Americans don't know anything about the U.S. Army, let alone the state of the U.S. Army in the years preceeding World War II, "In Pursuit of Honor" is worth watching.

The film is supposed to be "based on an actual event", but in all actuality, the storyline is highly improbable. For example, I can't imagine the Army unloading a ton of ordinance (which, at that time, was much more expensive than it is today) in order to stop a herd of aging horses cross over into Canada, let alone a mechanized infantry unit pursing the same herd over half a continent. Those elements of the film basically make no sense.

However, the depiction of the War Bonus Protesters in Washington, although a small part of the film, is something that was real. That the Army still used mounted soldiers a that time was real. That the Armed Forces were unprepaired to do battle with the axis powers was real. That the Army was in transition to a more modern force under Roosevelt (who knew that the country would be at war within the decade) was real.

I suppose that if someone wanted to get really technical, certain aspects of the film aren't 100% accurate, like maybe the exact unit designation of the squadron wasn't right, but so what? Only a U.S. Army Cavalry devotee or a member of some mutual admiration society is going to care about this. Everyone else is going to assume that the cavalry oufit in this film is only one of other such outfits that were employed by the Army at that time.

I'd like to see more films made concerning this era and how it effected our Armed Forces, not just the Army. An understanding of this important period of time helps to explain how and why the magnatude of the U.S.'s present armed forces came to be.

I'd recommend this film with some reservations, but otherwise, I'd say that the period of time preceeding World War II and the state our our Armed Forces has been more effectively portrayed before, in more historically accurate films like "The Sand Pebbles".

5-0 out of 5 stars real horse soliders
this was the kind of movie i grew with. it had a story and characters i could believe in. i cant seem to find any historical background on the storyline but that's not what matters. these were people dealing with issues of right and wrong. not of "whats in it for me". it dealt with the dirt and misery of commitment to an ideal. it was not full of sex and blood just for the schock value. the life of a calvary man was no picnic... when a person stands up for something that matters to them, it matters that they keep standing no matter what faces them at the end. that was the message i got from this movie and made me wish we had more movies like it. this was a wonderful change from car chases and blood just for bloods sake........maryann hughes

2-0 out of 5 stars In Pursuit of Honor falters and then Flops
In Pursuit of Honor is a charade. Billed as a true story it isn't as the producer and writer later admitted. The costumes and props were semi-accurate. The horse furniture, weapons and personal equipment of the horse soldiers were right on with a couple of glaring exceptions. In 1935 enlisted men did not wear orniments on their campaign hats in the field and neither did officers. Those used in the film were grossly incorrect for any period. In 1935 EM wore knee length laced (engineer) boots with flexible uppers. The collar brass was too small, etc. ... Read more

Scott Bairstow takes over for Ethan Hawke in this spirited (if clichéd) sequel involving a peaceful Haida Indian tribe and a con man in preacher's garb (Alfred Molina, just oozing evil) in 1906 Alaska. Bairstow discovers his inner wolf as he bonds with the tribe and falls in love with the chief's spirited daughter (Charmaine Craig), White Fang finds true love in a snow-white female wolf, and together they take on the dastardly villains who have stopped the caribou and imprisoned the hunters of the tribe. Less Jack London than a juvenile Dances with Wolves, this clunky but action-packed cliffhanger combines old-fashioned matinee Western clichés with Native American spiritualism and a celebration of nature. Though it's hardly subtle, the energetic action scenes and the beauty of the Alaskan summer make this an engaging adventure for the younger set. --Sean Axmaker ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Great Adventure...................
In this movie Jack has gone back to San Francisco and his friend Henry is mining his claim and caring for White Fang.
This story is mixed with Native American spiritualality and mysticism. They are in need of the white wolf (White Fang, or is it Henry?) to lead them to the caribou they are in need of to prevent starvation among their people.
This sequel is very entertaining with beautiful scenery.
A great family film.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disney made this up.
I've read White fang and there is no mention of Myth of a White Wolf. Disney had to have a sequel, so they made up this story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Family Movie
I have watched this movie a number of times and still find the story to be interesting. The simplicity and predictability of this movie makes it a great movie for younger elementary children, but there is enough plot and action to keep the family entertained. I enjoy the Alaskan setting and the images of the Haida village. There is a love story woven in with the young hero's role of finding the caribou and saving the village, but neither plot goes into anything overly sentimental or complicated.

I have used this movie in a fourth grade classroom to have them identify the main characters, the setting, the problem(plot), and the solution: things that are found in any good story, be it written or in a movie. They enjoyed the movie and it worked well for the assignment. This is a great family movie because it contains these basic story elements and does it well, making it watchable again and again.

5-0 out of 5 stars White Wolf
All I can say is that this was a brillent movie. I'm glad i saw the 2nd White Fang first. The first one was a big turn off to me. The story is about a young man who is having some dificultly understanding the native americans beliefs. With the Help of White fang a a native american girl Henry begins to understand thier ways, but he is soon to discover that the native Americans life is in danger and only he and white fang can save them.

2-0 out of 5 stars A little to lovey-dovey
White Fang-- Story about a wolf dog taken from the north, trained to be sled dog, goes into fighting rings, finds love

White Fang2: Myth of the White Wolf-- Movie about the master of White Fang, and an indian girl. White Fang is around a little.

White Fang2 had little to nothing about our all time favorite wolf-dog White Fang. It is mainly about his master, falling in love. I kept waiting for at least one scene with White Fang! The first movie was more like it.

This was a little boring, I don't really recommend it unless you like a lot of boring flirty romance, and little wolf. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A slightly new direction, but strong as ever
The fourth season of 'Alias' had the distinctive misfortune of coming off the tail end of the show's much maligned third year.Add to that ABC's decision to change its timeslot from Sundays to Wednesdays and to hold off on airing the season until January, almost 8 months after season 3's finale aired. To say the least, Season 4 had its work cut out for it.

That said, I must declare that I was never of the persusion that Season 3 was a weak year.I thought that, like the two previous seasons, there were obvious faults, but overall, I think the show managed to sustain itself beautifully through the loss of the beloved Lena Olin. And on that note, it seems clear to me that the first half of season 4 suffered bad fan reaction for the same reason season 3 did: Spymommy go bye-bye!

I was able to get over that rather quickly. And thank God!Because I found so many reasons to enjoy Alias's 4th season that it's almost unbelievable to me that so many fans dismissed the first half without much thought.Yes, the first half of the season focuses more on individual episodes than a larger story arc, but fear not, for many of the pieces presented in the earlier episodes show up during the second, more cohesive half of the season.

In retrospect, Season 4 really offered fans a lot (whether they were willing to take what was offered is another story, of course...).First and foremost, the return of Lena Olin in the last two episodes of the season. My, oh my, was it good to see her again. We also get a decent amount of sisterly action and tension, both between Syd and Nadia, and between the sisters Derevko. The return of two things I missed sorely from season 1: Anna Espinoza and the big red Rambaldi ball. "In Dreams" (which marks Garner's directorial debut) provided a haunting appearance of Sloane's wife, Emily. And speaking of Sloane, who could not love the concept of Sloane Cloane? And Lastly, the old mix of emotional complexity, throbbing action, heartbreaking drama, artful storytelling, fantastic fight scenes, fabulous wigs and outfits, Marshall's infamous rambling, romance (that's not without its problems), and yes, Rambaldi, is all there for you to enjoy.

Finally, to those who brush off the first half of the season, I only have to say that you probably missed the point.'Alias' rebuilt itself because it had to.Whiny fans and the need for higher ratings forced these changes. The way I see it, everything that happened had to happen in order to get to where we're going.Anyone doubting the incredible power of this show, however, need only watch the last minute of the season finale to realize that, as most good Alias fans *should* already know, everything can change in a single instant. With perhaps the greatest cliffhanger the show has ever offered, "Before The Flood" will bring even the nitpicky whiners back to their knees in worship and praise of the most thrilling television show airing today.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ending Begins: Season 4 of One of the Greatest Shows on TV
At the end of Season 3 of Alias, most fans considered it to be the show's weakest year.Even though I also thought that it wasn't as strong as the brilliant Seasons 1 and 2, I didn't think that it was as terrible as many people were complaining (although a lot of people just didn't like the fact that Sydney [Jennifer Garner] and Vaughn [Michael Vartan] weren't together). However, whether or not people liked S3, I think that most people can agree that the cliffhanger ending made us wnat to see what happened next.Sloane (Ron Rifkin) and his newly-found daughter Nadia (Mia Maestro) ran away from CIA custody to find one of Rambaldi's most powerful artifacts, while Sydney discovered something that her father Jack Bristow (Victor Garber) did not want her to find.Meanwhile, Vaughn had just discovered a Rambaldi prophecy stating that the Chosen One (Sydney) and the Passenger (Nadia) would fight to the death. So it is understandable that most fans couldn't wait to see where Season 4 took our characters.
Unfortunately, for the first half of the season, they didn't go far.In the season premiere, "Authorized Personnel Only", events pick up a few months after the end of S3, instead of right where things left, which has been done in all previous years. In the first episode, we do find out what was written on those papers that Sydney had found, but there is something not quite right about the answer we get.Furthermore, we don't know what it was that Sloane and Nadia found (at least not until the end of the year), but whatever it was, it was powerful, because the CIA gave Sloane command over a new black ops division in exchange for the artifact. The division was named APO (short for Authorized Personnel Only, which is the DUMBEST name for a black ops division that anyone can think of; personally, I'd have called it SD-0 or SD-X, but that's beside the point), and its members include Syd, Vaughn, Jack, Nadia, Weiss (Greg Grunberg), Dixon (Carl Lumbley, who was very underused this year), and Marshall (Kevin Wiesman).Another problem with this is that Sloane has somehow betrayed pretty much all of those people in the past, and many of them actually worked for him before at SD-6, when they were really working for terrorists against their knowledge, so it is very hard to believe that they are now all voluntarily working for this man again. After all, Sloane killed Syd's fiance and best friend, he had Dixon's wife killed, he injected Nadia with a serum to force her to find the Rambaldi artifact, and he betrayed Jack's trust.
And then, for the first half of the season, the episodes are completely self-contained (this was the first season in which every episode didn't begin with a "Previously" montage- in fact, very few episodes did this year). This wouldn't have been as much of a problem as it was if the episodes weren't sub-par for Alias standards.I mean, one of them even had pseudo-vampires!There are no vampires on Alias!!The dialogue, plots, and jokes were all below the quality they've been in past years, and I almost gave up hope for this show.
Then things started picking up again in the second half of the season.Major story arcs began developing, old characters were brought back (sadly, Sark [David Anders] was only in two episodes this year, and Will [Bradley Cooper] didn't appear at all, but it was good to see Anna Espinoza [Gina Torres] again), and the Rambaldi storyline was reintroduced. Also, we finally got some answers for questions that have been around since the first season.
If you are willing to look past the terrible first half of this year, the second half is a very good block of episodes. While they still aren't as good as the first two seasons, I doubt that any new episodes will be able to live up to those years.Until Season 5...

4-0 out of 5 stars alisa season 4
HELL EVERY SHOW HAS ITS BAD SPOTS, WHAT THEY COULD NOT THINK OF ANY GOOD PLOT TWIST AFTER SEASON 3 OR ARE THEY JUST TRYING TO SLOW IT DOWN. NOT AS HOT OR ACTION FILLED AS SEASON 1 & 2 BUT MAYBE THE WRITERS HAVE A PLAN MOST DO OR SHOWS FLOP. FRIENDS TELL ME IT IMPROVES AFTER WEEK 11 I FEEL A TAD LET DOWN BUT IM A FAN AND ENJOY THE SERIAL PLOTS AND TWIST THAT ALWAYS CROP UP GOOD JOB. (I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE SPICE.) I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO WATCH THIS PROGRAM IF YOU ENJOY WILD RIDES AND FAST RACEY PROGRAMS ALIAS HAS IT ALL WATCH AND SEE I CHALLENGE ANY HARD CORE FAN TO DISAGREE EVEN IF SEASON 4 IS A BIT SLOW. BUY ALL THE OTHER 3 AND ENJOY ME AND MINE HAVE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Alias Season 4 DVD set:An anachronism (like Rambaldi)?

Click on the "customer reviews" link to the left, and you'll see the following statement by Amazon near the top of the page:

"Availability: This title will be released on December 31, 1969. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives"

Is this strange message Rambaldi's attempt to communicate with future generations?Or is the Rambaldi artifact actually an imperfect time machine?Hopefully this will all be explained in season 5!

Warning to people of 1969:Don't waste your money buying this item!DVD players won't be around for at least 20 more years (though, under the right light, the discs are very shiny and pretty to look at!).

[Of course the World Wide Web doesn't exist in 1969 either, so why am I bothering to warn them?]

================================================================

ORIGINAL REVIEW (March 7th, 2005): Sydney goes so deep undercover that you can't see her AT ALL (or anyone else for that matter) on the Season 4 DVDs!

Any semi-verifiable ideas as to the release date?

5-0 out of 5 stars first half was ok, 2nd half was just like old times.
The first 7 or 8 episodes of this season aren't what we've come to expect from Alias. Its very procedural with no real "goal" like there was in the other seasons. The major reason for this is because the network wanted the show to be more accessible so more viewers could jump on the Alias bandwagon. It worked and the show's ratings have gone up. But the cost was loyalty from the majority of Alias fans. I'm in the minority in that some of those stand alone episodes were GOOD to me. I love continuity as much as everyone else, but it was nice to get some breathing room for 2 months.

Also to add even more horror to fan loyalists was that ABC aired the first 9 episodes out of order so that even character development seemed non-existant but ITS THERE1 Just watch the episodes in production order. Hear me ABC? Put the first 9 episodes BACK IN THEIR CORRECT ORDER PLEASE!

After Rambaldi makes its return in the awesome episode "Echoes", the season picks up with "The Index" when Vaughn begins his quest to find his dead father and the arc for the season kicks off and leads straigh through the final 12 episodes of the season. This season has had some of the best episodes of the entire series run: In Dreams, Mirage, Another Mr. Sloane, Nightingale, The Orphan, The Index, Echoes, A Man Of His Word, Nocturne, Ice, and Welcome to Liberty Village. All great episodes! Sure this season has some obvious clunkers like "The Road Home". But the great gems like Mirage and Nocturne just make you forget all about it.

This season is a welcome after the awful romance storyline in Season 3 which focused the show on Lauren and Vaughn's marriage instead of the spy plots and family drama which is what made EVERYONE fall in love with this show in episode 1.

And we haven't even gotten to the final 3 episodes this season which promise to be UNBELIEVABLE with the return of a beloved cast member.

Alias Season 4 is definitely recommended by me. You won't regret it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars thirtysomething.....please!!!!
Add me to the list of people waiting not-so-patiently anymore for ALL the seasons of thirtysomething to be made available on DVD! I watched that show religiously, and it felt like seeing parts of my life played out on the screen---I could relate to the characters so well. I tried to tape all the episodes when they were run on Lifetime TV years ago, but I would immediately purchase mint copies of them on DVD if they were available. The producers have already released their more recent series, like "My So-Called Life" and "Once and Again", so what's the hold-up with this one? -- which beats them all by far!

5-0 out of 5 stars 'thirtysomething' DVD's long overdue
What happend to these characters? the last episode left us hanging. Not in a Melrose-style cliffhanger sort of way. But we never really got to say goodbye to these characters. Though it seems a reunion show is a long shot, the series on DVD seems long over due. Till this day, "thirtysomething" remains the best drama series ever aired on prime time television. Though critically acclaimed at the time, the show wasn't a huge ratings success. By the first season the showed had gained an unfair reputation of being whiny and slef-involved. An unfortunate and inaccurate label for a quietly groundbreaking show. Though the first season was a bit uneven, it quickly evolved into a well written, moving, and entertaining show. It lacked the gimmicks and high concepts of today's flashy and grim dramas. These were ordinary people, personalities we could, at times, alternately identify with and hate. We cared about each one even if you didn't like them. Some of the bigger episodes got a lot of attention. Nancy's struggle with cancer earned Patricia Wettig a well-deserved Emmy. Michael's epic battle with Myles Drentel were about as flashy as the show got. But the quieter moments were some of the show's strongest. Gary's untimely death, Ellyn's wedding, Nancy and Elliot's divorce were all amazing storylines. The writing, acting and directing of the show reached amazing highs at different points of the series' relatively short run. I applaud ABC for keeping the show on as long as it did. Certainly by today's disposable programming standards the show probably wouldn't have lasted more than it's first season. But it's high time the series was released on DVD. With "Once and Again" available, why not this groundbreaking show? I'm sure many fans would be dying to get there hands on a complete set and put there home made video collections to rest. Thank goodness for Lifetime's airings of the show. Oh and by the way, if you're gonna release it, give us some extras. Deleted scenes, commentary, documentaries and cast participation would be amazing to see. I believe E did a great 30 min doc on the making of an episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Waiting...
Still waiting for one of television's finest moments to appear on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enough already
Every other televison program that aired more than two episodes has made it on to DVD. They've even got Wonder Woman on DVD if you can beleive it. Thirtysomething was one of the most influential tv programs of my generation. I would give anything for it to released on DVD and based on the thirtysomething web sites out there, many others feel the same way. GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT - PUT THIRTYSOMETHING ON DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars Still on TV in Germany!
Well folks. Who would believe it. I am lying awake at 3am in the middle of downtown Hamburg, Germany. You know, one of those "Lost in Translation" scenes when the body thinks it is in another timezone. I switch on the telly, and what should I see, but "thirtysomething". I get excited for a moment, until the words come out, in German, no English subtitles. My heart breaks.

My wife and I "grew up" on a steady diet of thiitysomething, just before we entered our own third decade.

So it lives on. FYI, I watched what was left of the show just to reminisce. Unfortunately my memory couldn't fill in all the words, but once the DVD (ever) appears, we can't wait. I'm going to see if is on sale in Germany, and then I'll just have to perfect my German language skills. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars the end of a great show
Season 5 of the West Wing marked the end of Aaron Sorkin as a writer and Tommy Shlamme as a producer of the show. This season suffers greatly from the change. The show used to be about the day to day workings inside a fictional White House. This season is all about dealing with crisis, from the resulution of the kidnapping of Zoey to the death of of a long time character, to the shutting down of the federal government.etc. etc. While some of these storylines were entertaining and some downright awful(documentary ep.), it wasn't the least bit believable and seemed very similar to all the other dramas on network tv.This is clearly the weakest season of once great show, they got things going in the right direction again during season 6, but the glory days are behind us unfortunatly.

5-0 out of 5 stars West Wing Season 5
Being from the UK I already own this DVD,
We do get them earlier than the US does, on average it's about 6 months earlier, however the US versions get extras when they are released, whereas the UK and other parts of the worlds versions do not get any.(Also ours tend to be about twice as expensive!)
So it's a tough decision wether to get it early without extras or wait and get them.

As far as the season goes, sure it is different from the first four, it was always going to be after Aaron Sorkin left.
The season opener is fantastic, the piece of music at the end will give you that same feeling as any of the best moments of the last four years.

Over all that are some great moments in this season; there are some weak moments too, but this is still the best written, best acted, witty, intelligent and engrossing piece of television around at the moment. (Oh yeah, the moment with big bird is hilarious)

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazon UK has it!!!
Why is it that Amazon UK has already released this title but Amazon US hasn't???

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth it!
In my opinion, this season was really the end of the decent episodes of west wing. Shortly after the first few, aaron Sorkan left, and WW has spiraled downword until it has reached the point that it has for season 8. I would love to get the 5th season, especally for the beginning where Bartlet's daughter was kidnapped (well the conclution from the cliffhanger season 4)
I and many more West Wing fans agree. We would love to see this season on DVD in the near future.

5-0 out of 5 stars best tv seris.!!
