5-0 out of 5 stars Spot on!....A Brilliant Serious/Story Tale.
Spot On! This BRILLIANT serious indicates exactly what gay life is about and the difference amongst us all within the gay community. Well done and congratulations to the writers of Queer as Folk. I am totally hooked to this serious.

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT TV SHOW!!
I absolutely love the show!!
It's so cool that the show presents a different world to me!
I enjoy involving the relationship between those charaters! They are adroable and memorable!! Especially the affection between Brian and Justin! It would be precious to you if you decided to buy those series!! I promise!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Series Ever For Our Gay Community!
ITs about time that Queer life is celebrated! I own "Queer As Folk Seasons 1-3" and its the best showtime series I have ever seen! All 3 seasons so far have drama, romance, lust; and each season makes you want more! I became hooked instantly; having watched every season atleast five times!

At first, I was worried, seeing that I never watched the series before buying them. I jumped with both feet and bought all three at once. I Definitely, 100% not disappointed! The drama and the complications in the series between queer friendship, love, devotion, pride and honor is the best I have ever seen in any gay portrayed series!

Queer as folk shows all aspects of Queer life! The love between Justin and Brian, Mikey and Ben, Ted and Emmett, Lindsay and Melanie; and many other characters brings this series to a new level. Showing the honest view of gay life. I feel for every character, and care for each person and their lives, as it unfolds. Words can't express this series other than its a must see and definitely MUST OWN collection!

At times, this series will show sex and nudity, so its not for the faint at heart. But thats what makes this series even more special. The fact that nothings held back; in your face truthfulness of gay relationships! Its awesome!

If you never watched Queer as folk, I recommend to everyone they should! I cant wait to own Season four!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Entire Collection From a Great TV Show
When "Queer As Folk" debuted on Showtime in 2000, it immediately sparked controversy, raising many eyebrows. Its unique graphic visionaries of sexuality has kept many talking. Not because of the sexual theme itself; it's the sexuality between two members of the same sex. The "in-your-face" effect earns the brave cast and crew tremendous respect for doing what no other has successfully done before. Before its debut, only two sitcoms have explored sexual orientation extensively: "Ellen" and "Will And Grace". The brilliance and the success of "Queer As Folk" has since earned rave reviews by many critics and still is today. Since its debut, the show has won and been nominated for several awards, including three, and counting, consecutive GLAAD Award nominations for Outstanding TV Drama.

The variey of character personalities offers great plot variety. Brian's frequent sexual activity, Michael's homelike presence, Emmitt's flamboyance, and Ted's shyness are only some traits that offer such joy to audiences. Justin, Debbie, Mel, Lindsay, and Ben also offer their own unique presence. The acting offers more great additional entertainment value. New and interesting ideas always keep audiences awaiting for the next episode. The combination of realism, drama, and slight comedy offers issues that some viewers can relate, including the straight/ ally community. Besides GLBT issues and struggles, it explores drug use, HIV/ AIDS, hate crimes, pornography, and many others. The shock value offers a great unforgettable experience. As the seasons progress, the plot and the characters follow.

Season one, the season always to be watched first, explores the coming out process, struggles in high school, struggles in the workplace, same sex couples raising a child, and others. Those who haven't watched the show will witness Justin meeting Brian for the first time, Lindsay giving birth to Gus (Brian is the father), Justin coming out for the first time, and of course Brian being Brian. Such deep chain of events and many others lead to a surprising and shocking season finale that keeps audiences awaiting for the second season premiere episode.

Season two starts with the result of the traumatic event on last season's finale. The characters begin evolving more throughout this season. Some surprising turn of events keep audiences interested in every detail. New viewers will witness Michael and Ted beginning their dream jobs, Michael meeting Ben who is HIV-positive, the birth of "Rage", Justin beginning college, Brian admitting more of his love for Justin, and of course Brian still being Brian. Viewers will be shocked when they learn Debbie's weak spot, despite being a strong GLBT ally. Robert Gant makes a wonderful debut as Ben. The acting from everyong shows great improvement throughout this season. Everyone creates their own tactics to keep audience watching. The chain of events, and many others, lead to a great season finale, leading to season three.

Season three answers questions that were cliffhanged in the second season finale. This season shows a greater variey of expressed issues, some which have not been expressed before, including politics, hustling, drug abuse, and others. This shows a greater emphasis on HIV/ AIDS issues, especially when Ben and Michael help a young hustler and when Ben's ex-boyfriend/friend dies of AIDS. This season shows surprising revolutions of some characters: an unlikely town hero arises to prevent a town from being run by a homophobic mayor candidate, an unlikely person becomes a crystal meth addict, and others. The chain of events and others lead to a shocking season finale that keeps audiences awaiting for season four.

This "Queer As Folk" set is a great collecion item for fans. This is sure to keep audiences entertained for a long time. First time viewers must watch this edition in order. Otherwise, the chain of events will be confusing.

Cast: Gale Howard (Brian), Hal Sparks (Michael), Randy Harrison (Justin), Peter Paige (Emmitt), Scott Lowell (Ted), Robert Gant (Ben), Michelle Clunie (Mel), Thea Gill (Lindsay), and Sharon Gless (Debbie).

5-0 out of 5 stars Queer As Folk The Complete Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are wonderful
Queer As Folk is one of the most amazing TV Shows ever and is a landmark as the show for the new millennium. This amazing Box Set has Season 1,2, and 3. After three seasons I am still amazed at how honest this show is on dealing with gay life. Not every gay person lives a life like these guys, but that is not what this show is about. Queer As Folk ia about the life of a group of gay guys and a lesbian couple living in Pittsburgh. Queer As Folk makes no apologies and thats what is so great about this series. From the graphic sex scenes to the drama of dealing with the prejudice that still haunts America, this show is so brave and I give Showtime a big thumbs up for having the balls to take on such a big risk as Queer As Folk. This show is as close as it gets to real life. This is not a show just for gay people, but for ALL people. It deals with human emotion and thats something that we can all relate to whether we be straight, gay, bisexual, black, white, brown or in between. I encourage anyone who has a open mind and a open heart to BUY this amazing DVD collection as it will inspire you and if nothing else open your mind to a lifestyle not as uncommon as you may think. Watch more than one episode before you judge this amazing series. With season 1, 2, and 3 you will be entertained with this awesome show for more than a few days!

Queer As Folk The Complete First Season - The first Queer As Folk DVD Box Set has all 22 episodes of the first season of the most controversial and bravest series in the history of television. The total running time of all 6 DVD's is approx: 1,205 minutes which includes Bonus features such as: behind the scenes outtakes, deleted scenes, special edition episodes, a Photo Gallery, DVD rom extras, A 6 minute Season 2 Sneek Peek, and much more. Queer As Folk shows the life of a group of gay guys and a lesbian couple living in Pittsburgh and all the dramas that go on in each of their lives.

Queer As Folk The Complete Second Season - The DVD Box Set is over 900 minutes and has all 20 episodes of the second season of one of the most controversial television shows today. The BOX SET includes over 3 hours of Bonus features such as: behind the scenes outtakes, deleted scenes, special edition episodes, a Photo Gallery, DVD rom extras, and much more. Queer As Folk shows the life of a group of gay guys and a lesbian couple living in Pittsburgh. I feel the first season of QUEER AS FOLK is better, but this second season is very good as well and shows the growth of the characters. I have seen all 20 episodes of Season 2 and it is slower paced than the first season, and I sometimes find myself looking at my watch which rarely ever happened with season 1.

Queer As Folk The Complete Third Season - This New Queer As Folk Season 3 DVD Box Set is over 673 minutes and has all 14 episodes of the third season, which is still one of the most controversial and bravest series on television today. This BOX SET like the seasons before include over 3 hours of Bonus features such as: Behind-the-camera, Hot Summer Days, Wrap Party Reel, Enter Babylon LA, Meet the Folks, Animated Photo Gallery, Season Four Sneak Preview, Weblink, Music Videos, and a few other surprises. I have seen all 14 episodes of Season 3 and it is another great season with some major twists. Season 3 is also a step above season 2 which was a little drawn out when compared to season 1. I do have to say I am a little upset that this season is very short when compared to season 1 and 2, which both had about 7 or 8 more episodes, but either way it is still a good season. Can't wait till the new Season 4 starts on Showtime soon. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars SEQUAL TO HAUNTED MASK
I LIKED #1 BETTER THAN THIS ONE.I THINK THE KID THAT PLAYED STEVE IN THE FIRST ONE WAS BETTER TOO.BUT IT`S A PRETTY GOOD EPISODE!

3-0 out of 5 stars Actually 3 1/2 stars
A good movie, but the acting is c-o-r-n-y, as is the plotline. Please, would a guy be *THAT* desperate to scare everyone? Also who's scared of some croaking old man...unrealisitc in realism, but a good flick, low on scares. Quality seems to lack.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Movie
This is a very good movie, and it's about twice as scary as the first. There are some scary parts so I wouldn't recommend
it to kids younger than eight. But it's good, you can believe that.

5-0 out of 5 stars A scary Halloween night
It was very scary! My favourite character was the girl who put the mask on. I was really excited to watch it. I would recommend this movie to kids ten and up! My favourite part was when she got the mask-it was really creepy, but cool!

5-0 out of 5 stars New mask. Old nightmare.
After last years' terrifying Halloween, Carly Beth (Kathryn Long) buried her evil haunted mask in the graveyard. Now this year her friend Steve (John White) wants to find a mask just as scary, but Carly Beth refuses to tell him where she bought hers.

At the last minute though, Steve encounters a stranger wearing Carly Beth's old mask, a mysterious man who leads him to a boarded up novelty shop. Steve slips in through the back door and steals a creepy mask he finds in the basement. What he doesn't realise is that the mask he stole is just as evil as Carly Beth's old mask. The worst of it though, is that Carly Beth's old mask is alive - and it's using both Steve and the shopkeeper (Colin Fox) to get her back.

"The Haunted Mask II" is even better than the original! Like most episodes of the childrens TV-series "Goosebumps," the acting and the script is a little cheesy. You just have to understand it's a show for children. I remeber when "The Haunted Mask II" came out on video on September 5, 1997 - it was a big hit. The whole town was excited about it. Okay, overall, "The Haunted Mask II" is great video. It's worth every penny spent if you enjoyed the first in the series, "The Haunted Mask." BUY IT OR RENT IT TODAY! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 and a quarter stars
A good movie. Better acting than the norm for Goosebumps and the plotline is a bit thicker than usual. Although the actors continue to be scared of the tiniest things - as in, exaggeration - it's good creepy fun. Decent SFX for this type of movie. The Wolf-in-the-house-chase with Emily is terribly executed, effects wise. Otherwise good work.

4-0 out of 5 stars The werewolf that was terrifying
This video tape i saw at school. In Ms.Ahern's room. It was creepy. There was this family, and this boy named Grady and this girl named Emily. They were afraid of their new town,or bored.
Then,Grady meets Will, and Will tells him legends of the werewolves. And,about the town. Grady gets murdered by a werewolf, and he finds out that Will is a werewolf.
He gets a fever, then he's a werewolf, too. This video was all right. I could live with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie
This movie is great. The werewolf is scary when the sister first sees it in the living room. The effects are alright for this kind of a movie. The acting is good and the plot is great. It's a great movie!

3-0 out of 5 stars Well, 2nd Best Is Not Bad.
I don't feel this quite matches "Night In Terror Tower," "Welcome To Dead House," "The Haunted Mask," or "The Haunted Mask Part 2." But we must not overlook 2nd best. In this day and age, we are often lead into shunning 2nd best. That is not always a good idea. Well, onto the review. It is not the best Goosebumps video (in my opinion), but it does have worthy elements. As usual in good horror, the story STARTS normal and harmless. (Good!) I don't feel the family is as well drawn as the one in "Welcome To Dead House," but it is alright. The (harmless?) eccentric serves to grab our attention quickly. Some of the Goosebumps videos have better scenery, but there is a spooky charm to the scenery in this one. Will is a well drawn character who seems normal enough but makes us nervous at times. It is interesting how Grady wants to stay away from trouble (a possible werewolf), but when his dog is starting to fall under suspicion of bad things, he summons his courage and tries to find out what is happening. I can't tell you too much more without ruining the video, so I will just say that the rest is captivating. One very well drawn scene is the one where the director alternates between shots of Emily and Grady. Also, a memorable situation is when Grady has to convince his mother (a scientist) that there may be things out there that science can't explain. Some people complaimed that this video is too predictable. But even if we know what is happening, that does not mean we can't still enjoy the charm it offers. It's only 45 minutes. So even if you figure out what is going on early, do yourself a favor and enjoy how everything leads up to the solution.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dog vs. Werewolf
This video was really amazing becasue there was also a dog that struggles to protect Grady and his family from a hideous monster that has been wondering in the swamps for many years. IF there were 3 komondors dogs that are really hairy bigger and stronger than than Vandell then this would be no contest if they went up against the werewolf because Komonodor dogs are really strong and they have a really powerful bite like a pitbull. When grady was being attacked by the werewolf and Vandell came to the resuce and when the dog bit the werewolf's arm well the 3 komondors would all attack the werewolf bit the monster so hard maybe the werewolf would be crippled then grady would have been safe big time and he would sit back and watch the komondors tear the werewolf to shreds. But anyways I really like this movie if I scripted this movie then I would have put the 3 komondor dogs in the movie instead of Vandell. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars TWILIGHT ZONE for kids
This is the TWILIGHT ZONE for kids... with young teens menaced by the supernatural...though usually with a not-so-subtle moral to the story. MY NAME IS EVIL is the best of this bunch...though they are all good, intelligent fun for the 16 and younger set.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Tangled Piece of Magic......
A wonderful addition to any DVD collection. R.L. Stine, the man behind the "Goosebumps" legacy, has returned with this collection of tales from his "The Nightmare Room" series. The disc is a highly enjoyable one and is full of tricks and treats for all ages. 4 episodes are featured on this disc. In "My Name is Evil" Morgan visits a carnival with friends and is told he is `evil' by a gypsy. Bad things start to happen, but the question is are they a fluke, or is the prediction true? In "Scareful What You Wish For" Dylan is followed around by Buddy, his supposed `best friend.' He belives that it is a childhood toy come to life. Will Dylan be able to stop Buddy's attacks, is he crazy or will he become just another victim? In "Tangled Web" Josh is a compulsive liar who uses words to get out of everything. But when a supply teacher shows up and believes his lie, things get interesting. Josh's lies begin to come true! Will Josh be able to escape the trouble he put himself in or will he become a casuality of his own words? Lastly in "Fear Games" teens are selected to take part in `The Fear Games.' Upon arrival at Tranquility Island April is told of a witch that inhibits it. During the games she sees that the witch legend may indeed be true. Will she and the others be able to escape reality tv alive? The stories each feature familiar faces from current televison....Tippy Hedren, Ashley Peldon (Catlin's Way/Thunder Alley), Besty Randle (Boy Meets World), David Carradine, Justin Berfield (Malcolm In The Middle) + the twins from "Big Daddy" and a few others. The acting is superb and each episode is excellently done. In terms of special features, there are a few. With "The Nightmare is Yours: The Haunted Cave" you have an interactive `Choose Your Own Adventure' type of story in which you decide your very fate. "Do You Dare?" is a trivia feature about our darkest nightmares. "The Nightmare Files" is an interview with R.L. Stine himself. Lastly, there is a "Trailers" feature that showcases other Warner Brothers titles that are available. I highly recommend this DVD as it provides a wide variety of entertainment for people of all ages. Do you dare attempt to venture into "The Nightmare Room?" :-) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Forget About This Gem......
A wonderful addition to any DVD collection. R.L. Stine, the man behind the "Goosebumps" legacy, has returned with this collection of tales from his "The Nightmare Room" series. This disc features four episodes from the television series. The episodes in question are "Camp Nowhere" (Parts 1 & 2), "Don't Forget Me" and "Full Moon Halloween." "Camp Nowhere" sees Russel, Dave, Erin, and Charlotte attend Camp Hawkwood. The campfire story depicts a ghost-camp. In a routine initiation the four experience the `story' first-hand. Will they escape alive? In "Don't Forget Me" a family moves into a new house. Danielle is left to look after her brother Peter when the parents go away. To make him a better brother, Danielle decides to hynotize Peter, who then begins to act strange. Does this have anything to do with the calls from the basement or is it a hynotization gone wrong? Lastly, in "Full Moon Halloween" a rumoured werewolf is attacking people. An invite to a surprise Halloween party for five friends soon turns into a game of `Who is the werewolf?' Will everybody pass, fail, or is it all a hoax? Each of the episodes are excellently scripted and are great stories. The episodes even feature familiar faces....faces such as Amanda Bynes (Big Fat Liar), Sam Jones III & Allison Mack (Smallville), Frankie Muniz (Malcolm In The Middle), Madeline Zima (The Nanny) + a few others. In term of the special features, they are quite excellent as well. Aside from trailers from other Warner Brothers titles, an an intervew with R.L. Stine entitled "The Nightmare Files," there is a bravery test of our darkest fears in "Do You Dare," and lastly a choose-your-own-adventure type of interactive game with "The Nightmare is Yours:Sink or Swim" where you decide your fate. I recommend that this disc be picked up because the stories and features are things that people of all ages would enjoy. So please don't forget to venture into "The Nightmare Room" or else "The Nightmare Room" will venture into you! :-)

3-0 out of 5 stars Campy, silly, but fun.
Blood Angels is the story of a small town girl who has come to stay in the city with her big sister. Little realizing that the sister and the rest of the club staff are actually demi-vampires.

Judging by the cover of this film, I expected it to be cheesecake. Parts were. But I was pleased to see there were actually a few hot guys in this too.

Parts of this film were actually kind of funny like the Japanese kid who wanted to be a hipster, and the comments made by the master vampire. I particularly thought the ending was pretty funny.

This is a B-rated campy, silly vampire film with a few good scenes. Rated R for nudity and violence.

2-0 out of 5 stars I should've known better
I am a collector of vampire movies, but I try to stay away from the cheapie home-made Grade ZZZ vampire movies. But every now and then I get suckered. Like on Dracula 3000 and now on this one. The one reviewer does a good job on explaining the "plot", threadbare as it is. The production values are very VERY low. The whole story pretty much takes place in the nightclub run by vampires. Dull. I gave it two stars because the actors (except for Fernando Lamas) really give it a good try working with what they've got. Skip it, unless you absolutely MUST have every vampire or Fernando Lamas movie available.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enthralled
Blood Angels (aka Thralls) is a clone of a number of other bikini-clad vampire films - with a story-line very much like Embrace the Darkness II/Morgana/Blonde Heaven about a girl who goes to the big city to look for her sister who happens to be a vampire - or to be exact a "Thrall", in this film thralls are blood-suckers too, but with not quite the same powers as vampires.

They escape from their vampire master, set up a bar to host parties, and feed from muscled studs. There's only two 'sex' scenes with the most minimal amount of skin shown... except one case where there's very likely a body-double used.

Can the 'thralls' evade their vampire master for long? Will the hick country sister save her 'evil' sister? Why is it that she can blurt out to a complete stranger that her sister's a vampire, and he believes her instead of seeking medical help for her?

There are a very few interesting special effects, such as a vampire girl sticking her tongue about 15cms into the air (whether it's to 'taste' the air like a snake, or not, who knows, as she's not poking it out at anyone). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Give us Chris on DVD!
I've been patient long enough. There are all kinds of DUMB TV series that have been released on DVD, much to my amazement. Who's buying the junk, anyway? But the outstanding "Chris Isaak Show" is nowhere to be found--yet. WHERE IS IT???? The show is witty, terrifically funny, self-deprecating, and intelligent, and of course there's the great music. I'd never bought a Chris Isaak CD before I watched the first season of the show, and he's still not anywhere near my favorite artist. But in the context of the show, the music is perfect. And I feel like the guys in the bands--and Yola!--are close friends.
Hey Showtime, I subscribed just to watch this series. You'll never be HBO, but the "Chris Isaak Show" is an absolute winner. If you won't renew the show, at least package up the 3 seasons and release them on DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars please release it!
The Chris Isaak Show is unique and SO funny.....I can't believe with all the TV shows that have been released on DVD, they haven't put this one out!!! I watched it faithfully when I had Showtime, and now that I don't have it anymore I've been having serious withdrawals. Please, someone pay attention to all these hungry fans and throw us a bone! I'll buy every season!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Chris, where are you?
One of the funniest, most entertaining shows on TV and it's not available on DVD. Wake up Showtime. You've clearly dropped the ball on this. The Chris Isaak Show is the ONLY reason I subscribe to Showtime. Please, please give us long suffering fans a chance to own this fabulous show.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could watch this over and over again!!!
This is the one TV show I would buy on DVD (outside of the original Star Trek). I watched the reruns on Showtime over and over again because it is so darn funny. HBO releases every show they make and Queer as Folk, not near as clever, is on DVD, where is Chris?!

5-0 out of 5 stars A DVD Travesty!
When will the wonderful Chris Isaak show be available on DVD? With all the TV junk that's out on DVD, it's ridiculous that this great show isn't available. The Silvertones (Chris' band) play great and are really funny. The guest stars are frequently wonderful (Stevie Nicks had a great sense of humor about herself and her image). The writing is smart and funny. I love the musician's world "insider" view. We need our C(hris)I(saak)TV! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "We are, The Tomorrow People!"
I remember the Tomorrow people series from my afternoon elementary days. After school this was the first show I would watch. Although I haven't seen the episodes in over 10 years, I still remember vivid scenes from the show including all the characters. I would have to say they had pretty good writers for being a mid-afternoon sci-fi kid's show. The three part series always kept me hooked and begging for more. I can't wait for this to be released on DVD. If so, I definitely want to share this will all my friends who heard about it, but never had the chance to see it when they were younger.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best TV shows ever!!!!!!
I cannot wait until this DVD to come out it along with Red Dwarf are among my favorite TV shows of all time. I haven't watched the ones from the 70s but these episodes from the 90s were awesome.I live in the US and I used to watch the Tomorrow People on Nickelodeon when I was little. From what I remember it's about a group of teenagers who teleport everwhere to escape danger in all kinds of situations and adventures. The cool part I liked about the show was the desert island that they met at in an abonded spaceship where only they could go by teleporting there. Anyway I hope it comes out soon and good luck to all of you who want it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Series -- But why wait?
This review is for the first Tomorrow People series produced by Thames in the early 70's.

At the time of this writing, The Tomorrow People DVDs are only available in the UK and can be ordered from www.amazon.co.uk. They are Region 0 which means they can be played in any country. Currently, (as of 20050306) series 1 - 6 are available at www.amazon.co.uk. Series 7 and 8 are currently available at other venues, but are cost prohibitive. Series (season) 7 and 8 (the last two seasons) should hopefully be available at www.amazon.co.uk in 2005 and 2006, where it will be normally priced.

John, Elizabeth, Steven and Tim are all here. The DVD has audio commentary (pretty good) but that is the only special features worth mentioning. I don't care much for the low-quality 'stills'. There is a preview of one of the newer audio books on the DVD as well.

Overall, not much of a DVD by today's standards, but all of the stories are there and they did a pretty good job moving it to DVD. I would buy it again. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that good...
Okay the story itself *RULES* and has INCREDIBLE potential. But the actors and actresses ruin it fully. The father's acting is especially horrible. The story is a little slow in execution - it takes the girl about five minutes to walk up the stairs and into the room! In fact, the whole first twenty-five minutes of the film are uneventful slum.

4-0 out of 5 stars Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House
Comparable to the episode of THE HAUNTED MASK, WELCOME TO DEAD HOUSE is a very well done and masterful Goosebumps episode. When two kids and their parents move to Dark Falls, they didn't expect to find that their town was a ghost town, and that their house is not just any old haunted house - it's almost like a theme park for the haunting ghosts of the town. Much darker than most of the Goosebumps episodes and similar to George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (though of course, much more toned down), this zombie episode is surprisingly very scary and riveting the entire way through. Well scripted and eerily atmospheric.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Well Done
I was actually surprised how good this was. The absence of bloody effects and profanity allows the author to simply concentrate on making us nervous. The start is so well done. The story STARTS normal, but we are given some irony and subtle hints of what is to come. The town Dark Falls is portrayed quite well. The images are not miles beyond plausibility, and we can see that something is not right. The gentle but creepy piano music in this video adds to the spooky atmosphere. The writer continues to gradually make us nervous, and then he hits us with more scary news (or to be more accurate scary history). (Very good!) One aspect of good horror is that the hints start small, but then they start getting bigger and more obvious. (Good horror can be like putting a puzzle together. We might find ourselves playing with a few small pieces. They may not mean much to us at first; but then we may find ourselves getting bigger pieces that make the outcome easier to see.) Another thing the writer did VERY WELL here is that he created a wonderfully drawn family. On one hand, they are NOT a sugary blameless family; nor are they a repulsive and vulgar family like Rosanne and The Simpsons. The writer showed that they can bicker amongst themselves, without getting dirty or insulting, but that they also know when to function as a family. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE ABILITY TO DRAW FAMILIES THIS WAY??? I do not want to spoil the ending for those of you who have not seen it. For you parents reading this, it may be a good idea to watch this with your children. It is not exactly a harmless video. I will conclude by saying that this was so well done, it actually got me to buy the series of videos. Once you get into this series, you may find out just how easy it is to get hooked.

4-0 out of 5 stars Welcome to Dark Falls - USA
This has quickly become a family classic in our house,Particularly around Halloween. My 4 1/2, 8 1/2 and 10 years old girlslove this one!

The story stems around a shady real estatesalesman... whom offers a can't refuse deal to a unsuspecting familyfrom 'out of town'. Unknown to the family, Dark Falls was the victimof some type of hazardous chemical spill a while back, causing theexisting residents to become 'living dead'. Unfortunately for these'living dead' corpses, they are dependent on 'the living' fornourishment.

Thus, they use this one piece of real estate property -AKA Dead House - as 'bait' to unsuspecting family's in order tofeed. Without disclosing the whole storyline, I must say the thingwith the dog at the end adds a nice touch...

5-0 out of 5 stars It will make you jump
I watched this movie at a good friend's home with her two children - both mother and daughter shrieked and hid under the blanket at a few 'Gotcha!' scenes - I died laughing at both of them! (You scardy-cats may have to clean up puddles on the sofa) The film is well acted and well photographed - don't adjust your TV, it's not broken! It's a good choice for any Saturday night at home with the kids. ... Read more
