4-0 out of 5 stars Hilary Duff Shines as Cinderella
Hilary Duff stars in this movie as a girl whose father dies in an earthquake. Because there is no will left her stepmother gets everything, including Sam (Hilary).

The movie picks up 8 years later where Sam is a senior in high school preparing to go to college at Princeton (that is, if she gets accepted). High school isn't exactly a happy experience for Sam as she has only two friends. One real, one an email friend that texts her constantly. To everyone else in the school she's know as Diner Girl.
Home isn't any better, as she is forced to live in the attic, do all of the chores, wait on her stepmother and sisters constantly, and work seven days a week at the diner owned by her stepmother.

Since I saw the previews of this movie I thought it looked funny. I've been looking forward to it since the first preview. However, now that it's out and I read the reviews I was nervous. Luckily my fears weren't realized. This movie ended up being a sweet, family friendly, romantic comedy. Duff does an excellent job of portraying Sam. She truly is an excellent young actress, the pep rally scene is proof of this.

While this movie wasn't really laugh out loud funny, it was funny at times, but more than that it was sweet and, for lack of a better word, cute. The direction was really nice. It wasn't super artsy, but it was well done and added a certain beauty to the film.

Cinderella Story ended up being a really sweet movie that deserves a better reaction than it recieved. Great acting, a clever update of an old fairy tale, an awesome soundtrack, and a likeable cast makes for a great afternoon at the movies.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cinderella Story Is Better Than Expected
Cinerella Story is about a not-so-popular girl finding love online and meeting her prince charming who turns out to be the school's most popular guy.

While it is a simple story, the movie turns out to be hilariously funny and immensly entertaining. It is by no means Oscar-worthy, but it is a great movie nonetheless.

Hilary Duff delivers a good performance as Sam, our Cinerella, and her football playing prince, Chad Michael Murray also does well. Jennifer Coolidge brings in the laughs as the evil stepmother and Regina King delivers a strong performance as always as Sam's co-worker and her 'fairy godmother'.

Overall this is a great movie and I'd recommend it to all, especially fans of Hilary's or the other stars and those of you who want to see a comedy or a feel-good movie now. So, go see it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Exellent
A cinderella story was the best movie in the world, and better then any of the other movies hilary duff played in. I love hilary duff so i see all of the movies and buy all the movies she is in!! If you buy this movie you WON'T regret it!! I am a 12 year old girl that is very critical about judging movies so take my advice!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulouse
i dragged my boyfriend to see this film because i just love hilary duff and have to see any film she is in and we BOTH really enjoyed it! i thought it was fantastic how they acted out the story of cinderella and gave it the perfect modern day teenage twist. As usual Hilary looks absolutley gorgeous expecially with her sparkling dress on. Prince charming is also gorgeous and and girl my age would die for him and i just think its the perfect file for any teenager who doesnt want to admit shes loves a good fairy tale and all the children will love it too! Get it and believe me u will love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Cinderella Story
I really think that this movie was really really good! I give it 5 stars, but some parts were kinda cheesy. Some parts of this movie are kind of inappropriate for younger children eyes, as in the end at the football game. (Yo, Hilary, let someone else have Chad, will ya?)Laugh out loud.
The movie is really about a girl named Sam who dad dies in a earthquake. Her meanie-mo step-mom name is Fiona, and Sam has to do everything Fiona tells her. Then there is Sam's "Fairy God mother" whos name is Rhonda. Rhondas name for Fiona is PotatoHead. Then Sam gets all these Text messages and e-mails. Oops! Unhappy and lonely after her mother's death, Casey (Lindsay Lohan) attempts to resurrect her mother, but a minor mishap changes the results of her spell and brings an unwanted doll named Eve (Tyra Banks) to life instead. Eve is elated when she first encounters the smells and flavors of real life, but is shocked to realize that she's not the perfect role model she's always considered herself to be. Casey initially despises Eve--she never wanted this doll in the first place and now she's ruined her chances of bringing her mother back to life. But as Eve grows, she brings out the best in Casey, encouraging her to renew old friendships and spurring personal growth and healing. Even Casey's father (Jere Burns) rises above his grief and builds a better relationship with his daughter as a result of his interaction with Eve. This is an entertaining, 89-minute video that juxtaposes the stresses and disappointments of the real world, with their accompanying potential for personal growth, against what initially appears to be a stereotypically idyllic world. What makes the movie powerful is its suggestion that that ideal world is inherently flawed. Performances by Lindsay Lohan (The Parent Trap), supermodel Tyra Banks (Higher Learning), and Jere Burns (television's Something So Right) are very good. The story, while based on a fairly unreal premise, successfully explores some very real issues facing kids today. --Tami Horiuchi ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Be A Star And Buy This Movie
This dazzling comic fantasy stars popular Lindsay Lohan (The Parent Trap) and top fashion model Tyra Banks (Higher Learning) in a delightfully entertaining tale of a young girl's toy that turns out to be a truly living doll! Sad and lonely after the death of her mother, Casey (Lohan) would do anything to see her again. But when a series of mystic mishaps mistakenly brings her fashion doll "Eve" (Banks) to life instead, it changes Casey's world forever!

Heartwarming and lots of fun, the magical story of this happy accident captures a spirit your family will want to relive again and again!

5-0 out of 5 stars She's alive!
Casey Stewart (Lindsay Lohan, The Parent Trap) is having a tough teenage life. Her mother has recently passed away, and her father, Ben (Jere Burns) is always busy. He always tries to make it to her football games, but he always misses them. Casey feels that the answer to all her problems would be to bring her mother back to life.

Casey is given a birthday gift by Ben's co-worker, Drew (Anne Marie Loder), and the gift is an Eve doll which doesn't really interest Casey. When Casey tries to cast a spell to bring her mother back to life, she accidentaley brings back to life the Eve doll. Now, Eve (Tyra Banks, Halloween: Resurrection) is a human with the thoughts of a doll. Casey thinks this is terrible...but it gets even worse when she realizes that her dad has gotten a crush on the doll.

LIFE-SIZE is such an entertaining movie. It is a great movie for the entire family. Not only was there an excellent script, but the actors were wonderful--especially Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks. Each scene was full of humor, especially when Eve was a complete idiot. Despite the comedy of the movie, the end was very sad and could make anyone cry. I recommend this movie to anyone...even to people who hate dolls.

4-0 out of 5 stars SO-SO Movie
This movie is SO-SO. It has good but not great comedy and Tyra acts with Lindsay fairly. I am a boy and I could say proudly that this movie is ten million times better than the Cheetah Girls! If your sister likes this movie you are luckier than the people whose sister likes the Cheetah Girls (like me) I hate that movie with all my heart but this movie is a good fair movie and would give it 3 more stars than the Cheetah Girls whom deserve zero stars but there is no such thing on amazon.com

1-0 out of 5 stars This movie makes me puke
Don't listen to all these people!

I watched this movie because it had Lindsay Lohan, and I am a die-hard fan of Lindsay. She is so hot. But anyways...

This movie made me want to puke. The conclusions were unclear, the themes were conflicting, and the whole premise was really really stupid. Even in the end, the true problem of the little girl (not having her mother) had not been solved. Tyra Banks was an annoying skank who says such things as "I'm anatomically correct" to a man and then slaps him for propositioning her. The whole movie is fake feel-good-touchy-feely disney crap. I am a teen and I hate this movies guts. Don't believe peope who say that "teens will love it to." If you show this to your teen they will kill you and hate you forever. THerapy will not be able to solve the problems this movie creates.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting plot, but involves some weird things
The story is interesting, a doll that comes to life, but the way she was brought to life is a bit disturbing. I didn't like Casey's obsessions with magic. The chanting part was kind of strange. It made me feel uncomfortable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Exellent show for teens, good messages, and morals
this show is as close to reality as possible in Jr. High. Hilary is a great role model for young girls, and msot girls went thru or are going thru what Lizzie does in these shows. And of course girls will love this, but so will boys becaue Duff is SO CUTE and Lalaine is SMOKIN' HOT, I mean she sizzles in the screen, magandang Pinay!!! So buy thsi dvd it is great and full of life's lessons and great family values.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie McGuire sends a bad message to young people...
This show is just plain-out pathetic! Not only does it teach girls to be stuck up little b**ches, but it also sends a bad message to every young individual overall. The show mostly tells us that you should try and be better than everyone else and act snobby and stupid. (When really you should be ORIGINAL and be YOU! Not some other little punk!) And now, after many of those viewers (who are probably around 8-12 years old) watch this dribble, it will only send them the wrong idea and our next generation will be a COMPLETE major pain in the arse! Believe me, I'm 18 years old and can easily tell from this stuff. I'm SO glad they stopped the show a long time ago before it warped more young minds. Sorry, Hilary.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wack, except for Haylie's cameo
This DVD is kinda wack because the episodes are lame and pathetic, I guess the Erik Estrada one is funny in a way, but still wack. I should give it 0 stars, but I give it one star because of Haylie Duff's cameo in "Xtreme Xmas" she has like a couple lines in it. Haylie rules!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie McGuire: Star Struck
This DVD features the episodes:

01. Here Comes Aaron Carter - when Aaron Carter does a video shoot for "I Want Candy" and Lizzie and the gang sneak in

02. Lizzie in the Middle - where Frankie Muniz comes to town and hangs with Lizzie

03. Xtreme Xmas - where Steven Tyler helps make Lizzie's Christmas parade float by singing "Santa Claus is Comin' To Town"

04. Grand Ole Grandma - where Doris Roberts plays Gordo's grandma and stays with Gordo while his parents are away

05. El Oro De Montezuma - where Lizzie and the gang go on a spanish game show ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie McGuire rules
i watch lizzie mcguire everyday and this dvd would be a great gift for a girl whose growing up. (between ages 10-14) it's great because it's really funny and teaches you stuff at the same time. i also recommend the lizzie mcguire movie dvd with this item. It's a classic!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie McGuire Rocks!
This DVD features the episodes:

Misadventures in Babysitting

Between a Rock and a Bra Place

Rated Aargh

Party Over Here

5-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie Mcguire is fine!
I just want to say that some people think that Lizzie Mcguire isn't for people under thirteen, and that's not true! It is mostly for those pre-teen girls. It's not really for guys, or girls under the age of ten, but not because there's something bad about it, it's just that there's this episode about Lizzie getting a bra, and about five or six episodes where she has a crush on somebody. I don't recommend it for boys of any age though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not what it could have been--but far better than nothing.
I suppose one should start out with the 'bad' here.

Cons:

1. Merely adequate visual and audio. While certainly serviceable, the overall quality of the presentation isn't what one has come to expect from the DVD format.

2. No continuity of episodes. It's bad enough that the episodes are being parceled out like this, but it's as though the episodes chosen were purely at random. The episodes have nothing to do with one another. They're not even from the same season!

3. Severe editing. The credits for each episode have been expunged here. All one gets is one credit crawl at the very end of all the episodes only covering one of the episodes shown! Very poor choice there (and one would think it would violate SAG bylaws...). Also, one doesn't get to view the opening credits before each episode; it too is only shown once for all four.

The only 'extra' consists of a new music video featuring Hilary Duff's first single, "I Can't Wait".

Pros:

It's "Lizzie McGuire" on DVD! :-)

At the end of the day, one gets the feeling that Disney rushed this project in order to cash in on the current "Lizzie-Mania" that has swept the land. But they've had so much time to get all their ducks in a row, one should (and does) expect better from the product. Disney knows that the fans will eat up anything "Lizzie" related right now--sub par or not.

However, barring an expanded version at some point, this is all we've got, and as such is worth buying. A flawed "Lizzie" DVD is better than no "Lizzie" DVD.

1-0 out of 5 stars HILLARY IS "SO YESTERDAY"!
save your self money and your child's sanity! don't buy this DVD! as a teenager myself i strongly oppose of hillary duff/lizzie mcguire. her shows are very perdicatible! her parents are very liberal. how does lizze and ethan always get together as friends? they hardly ever talk to each other. isn't there one tv show on earth where the guy is cute and smart. and the main lead is NOT a blond. u gotta be blond and blue eyed to get a guy and that is exactly what hillary does. don't buy hillary duff products. it is a waste of money!!! ... Lizzie McGuire, played by Teen Choice award-winning Hilary Duff, is a winsome eighth grader with a unique sense of style and burning desire to be popular--a condition that resonates with pre-teens everywhere. This quartet of episodes from the television series (which inspired the feature film) finds Lizzie climbing to a new pinnacle of popularity. When Lizzie signs a modeling contract with Teen Attitude Magazine, she gains instant popularity at the expense of true friendship. In the second episode, desperation over an upcoming vote for "best dressed" tempts Lizzie to lie and outspend her budget in the quest for notoriety.Meanwhile, Lizzie's brother Matt becomes a prisoner of his own instant fame.Lizzie takes being a role model a bit too far in the third episode and almost winds up losing her uniqueness while Matt's Dad takes a beating trying to help Matt earn a wilderness badge. When Lizzie sets a new school record for the "Presidential Fitness Challenge" in the fourth episode, she quickly gains a reputation as a "dude"--a reputation that just might end her chances of ever getting a date.Matt, on the other hand, suddenly finds himself praised for a newfound academic prowess--too bad the praise really belongs to a mischievous monkey. 5-0 out of 5 stars Cant Help It
Im in love with Hilary Duff. Only 16 years old and she is a superstar, how I wish I were her so much! Kind of depresses me...

4-0 out of 5 stars Lizzie McGuire DVD's
even though i am a great fan of Lizzie McGuire and have been since the show came out in 2000, when i purchased volumes 1 and 2 of the series, i was annnoyed that it only came with four episodes on each dvd. each episode is only about 25 minutes long, so i was really suprised when disney chose to only put four episodes on each dvd, why not 6 or 8 episodes as it is worth it for the price that you are paying. overall this is a great show for all kids, and you can never get bored of rewatching these for episodes!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this show
I always loved the TV series Lizzie McGuire, my fiends all say I am a brunette version of Hialry Duff lol! This dvd is exellent, fans of the show or of Duff wil lenjoy this and Duff is a good roll model for a girl my age(I'm 14). This is a perfect DVD for any teen, boy or girl(I think all guys are in love with Hilaey Duff)!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Kids Show On Television these Days!
If you asked me what the best show on television for kids is, I would have no, and I mean absolutely no hesitation, in saying that it is the Lizzie McGuire show. It features a young girl having to deal with the issues of Middle School and how she manages through her struggles, by choosing to do what is right in the end. Sometimes, she temporarily masses up and ends up getting the consequences of her actions, and does what is right in the end.
Eight episodes were released on DVD on December 9th. They are bundled as "Fashionable Lizzie" and "Growing Up Lizzie." These DVDs make great Christmas presents and if you buy both of them, you might consider buying another Disney DVD title (such as the Lizzie McGuire Movie), because Disney will give you another DVD for free. This offer expires at the end of December though. Again, these are great DVDs.

3-0 out of 5 stars Why only four episodes?
I was excited to hear Disney was going to release some of the best episodes of Lizzie McGuire on dvd, but I am upset about how they are going about it. The first thing that made me mad was the fact that there are only four episodes on each volume. In England, theres six. Also, The UK versions are in the order the episodes were filmed. In the UK, Disney will have eventually released the entire series on dvd. All 65 episodes. I hope Disney releases all the episodes on dvd in the U.S. And I expect more than just four episodes on volumes 3 and 4. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a great movie!
This is one of the only slasher/ horror flicks of the 80's that I can say is really good, and give four stars. The girls of the soroity house are pretty cool and likeable, as well as attractive in a unique kind of way. The attic is creepy and well decorated. The music is great, and not the usual bad syn. music as in most early-80's slashers. The story is interesting, the acting good, as well as the production values, and is scary! On another note, the trailer, which is included on the DVD, give the impression that this is a bit more dramatic than scary. And it is a bit, but it's not a bad thing. The DVD transfer is great, and makes the film look as tho it was made recently! I REALlY like this movie, and defintely reccomended it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gotta Love Horror Movies Set In Sororities
In the 80's there were a few horror movies using Sororities. There was Initiation, Sorority House Massacre and Hell Night, just to name a few. This one is among the best, and does have a few creepy moments. Not overly bloody, and a followable story line. The acting is pretty good too, considering it is an 80's horror film. I am really excited to see this out on DVD with a wide screen presentation. I will be showing this at my fraternity for horror movie night!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars TED DIDN'T WATCH VERY CLOSELY. GOOD, NOT GREAT.
The reviewer known as Ted totally missed who the killer was in this movie. It was not an old granny. The old granny is killed accidentally by the kids, and they want you to think she comes back for them, but that is not the case at all. While the killer is no real surprise, I could not let false information float around out here like this. B/c I respect any attempt, however feeble, at keeping the audience guessing, I will not say who the real killer is, but if you watch it halfway closer than Ted did, you will know. This movie does have its moments, particularly the ending, but I would have to list STAGEFRIGHT and any of Argento's early works (SUSPIRIA, TENEBRE, DEEP RED) as being a better expenditure of time and money.

1-0 out of 5 stars WORST MOVIE+[BAD] DVD TRANSFER=(0/5 STARS)
First off this is the movie...I Know What You Did Last Summer [is like],if that gives a clue of what to expect. The plot(not much)is about a sorority that wants to threw a party but their mother of the sorority refuses,so the girls play a prank on the old lady and she suffers a heart attack then comes back killing people with a cane, thats the story in a nutshell. This gives the viewer no surpise of the killers identity, and not only that knowing its a old granny with a cane makes the movie that much worse to watch. Your probably thinking at least there has to be some cool death scenes, well guess again merely just a granny killing with a cane,no gore, just Friday The 13th edits. This DVD also has lots of grain and suffers from poor quality and no extras(REMINDS ME OF PARAMOUNT DVD'S)decent sound considering its mono. UNLESS YOUR A PRE-TEEN AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT MOVIE I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER [STEMS FROM](WHICH ISN'T SAYING MUCH),THEN SKIP THIS MOVIE AND GET THE CLASSIC REAL HORROR FLICKS1)HALLOWEEN(1978), 2)A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1AND3), 3)SILENT NIGHT,DEADLY NIGHT(1984)

5-0 out of 5 stars Its graduation time at....
THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW deserves a much higher place in the upper eschelon of the slasher film genre. Perhaps buried by bigger named releases by the top studios at the time (Paramount and the "Friday the 13th series and Universal with "Halloween II and III") the film succeeds on many levels where the typical slasher film usually fails. Within the 91 minutes of film writer and director Mark Rosman weaves a brisk and taut tale. Starting with the script, which actually shows a great deal of inspiration, the film provides the viewer with a remotely plausible storyline that is brimming with mystery and suspense. Rosman also succeeds in creating sympathetic characters (not always an easy task in the slasher genre). Among the cast are a group of actually talented actresses, including Harley Jane Kozak and soap actress Eileen Davidson (who would go onto great fame and prominenece later in the 80s in daytime TV). These actresses actually build characters that maintain our interest. Another success is the effective gore sequences which are directed with a great deal of suspense, but just enough restraint to keep them effective. So many times the "killing" is the centerpiece of a slasher film. Here it is actually handled as a device for carrying the story along. You will also be surprised by the superb score by Richard H. Band who along with the London Philharmonic actually adds to the mood of the film much like John Carpenter's "Halloween" did several years before.
Elite Entertainment has given this low budget gem a decent anamorphic widescreen transfer. Although the print has some minor defects, the presentation is overall pleasing. The mono soundtrack has been transferred nicely, although at times the dialogue looping seems to lack a deal of fidelity. Included is the theatrical trailer, which is presented in full screen. There are no other extras to this DVD. The package also tells you that there is no insert included inside (I wish other companies would make that disclaimer on their DVDs so there isn't expectation). A chapter listing is provided on the outside of the case.
It would be nice to see in the future a "Special Edition" DVD of this film with commentaries by the director and cast (many of whom I would imagine would be thrilled at the prospect), still photography, a "behind the scenes" documentary and maybe more audio options ( this film begs for a surround sound mix). Until then, you will be thrilled with this release. Its a true gem in a genre that is pretty much ignored by the DVD producers. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie!
For a low budget Sci-Fi, This is a very well written Movie. Fans of Star Trek will like this movie because "Q" (John De Lancie) plays a very different character in this movie. Overall, Good Action, OK Graphics, Great Storyline.

3-0 out of 5 stars Evolver
Evolver is a movie about a kid who wins a video game contest set out by a large company. The robot that he wins is was a trashed government project, and the robot starts killing people. This movie was ok, but there were no big names, or great special effects. The story line was OK, so it gets about three stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars COOL MAN
When I first watched this with my dad, I fell asleep cause it was on at like 2:30 in the morning, then, it was on the next day, so I watched it and I loved it ever since. Not oscar worthy or anything, it's just is a good movie that I recommend seeing at least once in your life.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good,sci-fi,action--thriller!
great special effects!Scary and thrilling at times

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than I thought it would be
This film follows in the tradition of the Child's Play and Puppet master films. It is a pretty entertaining low budget sci fi effort and is very funny at times without taking itself too seriously. ... Read more

Oops! You have to watch the movie to know the rest! ... Read more
