Here's Why:
I came across this page while searching for Season 2 myself. FYI, to shed some light on the question you've all been asking (and I've been asking myself) as to why it has taken so long for season 2 to come about: I recently heard that the toughest part about releasing some shows on DVD have to do with music copyrights; that is, any song used on a show, you have to get permission for the DVD release and of course, pay a royalties fee. I heard, was it Freeks & Geeks, was going to have to pay $500,000 alone for the music to release that series on DVD. You take a real "niche" show like that and it's a bit of a gamble. I've heard some series have been released without the music, but there were MANY bands featured on LS. I think that's got to have something to do with it. Also, I'm wondering how Bravo's failed attempt to re-broadcast the shows figures into the mix. They had to have paid something for those rights and I wonder if they also need to be paid for a DVD release.

this show is a classic. original and clever. so many crap dvds that get released why cant they release something great.

We can buy "Punky Brewster" but not The Larry Sanders Show?
Pretty screwed up, eh?C'mon.

My brain cannot handle the dissonance of remembering how The Larry Sanders Show was a critical splash and a runaway hit which made possible every future HBO series.In other words, there would be no "Sex In The City" or "The Sopranos" if there had never been a Larry Sanders.Meanwhile, here in the present, sales were evidently poor enough that we're STILL waiting for Season Two.What happened?

I'm inclined to blame it on poor promotion . . . .

Please hurry up and release this. What's the matter with tri star? the greatest, most influentialamerican comedy show of the last twenty years and all we have is one series dvd and one poor compilation. get on with it.

Season one of "The Larry Sanders Show" from 1992 was released on DVD over 3 years ago.It is unclear why season two has yet to be released, as some TV shows seem to have been practically hemmoraging boxed sets in the interim.Let me take this opportunity to BEG the powers that be to continue releasing this wonderful series on DVD!!!!Thank you ... My guess when 10th season DVD will be out....
I noticed that according to Amazon, the 8th season DVD came out in Nov 2004, the 9th, Mar 2005, a 4 mo gap between each set. So I would assume that the 10th and last season DVD would be out sometime in July. Hope I am correct. I have loved the whole set to date and am looking fwd to the last season. "Friends" is definitely one of the greatest TV shows of all time!

Patiently waiting
I have to be honest, I wasn't going to even WATCH friends at first, because I don't like to come into a show after the first few episodes have aired. At that time I was in massage therapy school during the times it was on, and my friend told me it was a good show and decided to tape some episodes for me. Needless to say I was HOOKED after I saw the first one. They had me at "we were on a break!" They quickly became my favorite television pals almost like family and I now own every single season. I also have two games, a recipe book, music from the show cd's, the finale show, and a few volumes of the best of friends that my family keeps buying me as gifts. It was a great show and I cannot wait until the last season becomes available to complete my set.. hopefully it is out by my birthday in December but if it's not then I will still be patiently waiting with bated breath and much anticipation.

Last Season of Friends
I am a big fan of this show too.I have all the seasons, the big black book that was released, and many other magazines and of course the trivia game.

Yes, I too am waiting for this DVD to be released...but with working with sales...my best bet is they are taking forever due to the fact that if you hold out your product longer, more and more people will want to buy it once it's released.So that's my idea on why they are waiting forever. Because let's face it...if you are a true friends fan it doesn't matter how long they wait, people are always going to buy that last season.Also, by waiting it's letting other people who maybe haven't watched all the episodes to get them hooked so they are able to sell more copies.Just an idea!

So, I'm just hoping it's out by Christmas.I've seen the complete list of movies coming out until the end of July...and sadly it isn't listed.

But lets cross our fingers that they decide to sneak it in!!

I've been a HUGE fan of FRIENDS since the beginning.I loved watching the characters evolve and the storylines have always been entertaining.And now it sad that it's coming to an end.Thank god they put them on DVD, but now it's time for the final season to be released, and it's taking forever!!!

I'm hoping that with this 10th season, they will ad a bunch of features to the 4th disc as the episodes should only take up 3 discs.I remember watching the series finale, and they had a special with clips from the shows for each character and stuff that happened with the boys and stuff that happens with the girls.it was hilarious!I just love this show, and although this wasn't the BEST season, it's still great, and if you already own all 9, you have to get this one.

WOW Season 4 is awesome
Season 4 is amazing, one of the best yet. I know best i live in the UK and it just came out last monday. YOU MUST BUY IT. I Feel sorry for all you americans since it was made in the US. You do however get a cooler box case for Season 3 so you should wait. Carter and Del Amico is the couple that should of been but never was. Season 4 is the best yet.

ER Season 3
Waiting anxiously for season 4. Why is it available in Europe and Australia but not in the US?

Season 3 is just been released and I ve already seen them all.. can t wait for season 4 to come out.. It think like many many other people that the Warner should release at least 2 or 3 seasons a year... all the other show are more up to date than ER how come ?

Hi there. I hope Warner starts releasing these more often. ER really is the best show on television. I am anxious to buy every season. This season includes Paul McCrane and Alex Kingston joining the cast, as well as Maria Bello (although she is in the last episodes of season three, which will be released in a couple days). I know that many others are anxiously awaiting a faster release schedule. (At least two or three seasons a year would be good, but more than that is fine too).

the end of a great show
Season 5 of the West Wing marked the end of Aaron Sorkin as a writer and Tommy Shlamme as a producer of the show. This season suffers greatly from the change.The show used to be about the day to day workings inside a fictional White House.This season is all about dealing with crisis, from the resulution of the kidnapping of Zoey to the death of of a long time character, to the shutting down of the federal government.etc. etc.While some of these storylines were entertaining and some downright awful(documentary ep.), it wasn't the least bit believable and seemed very similar to all the other dramas on network tv.This is clearly the weakest season of once great show, they got things going in the right direction again during season 6, but the glory days are behind us unfortunatly.

West Wing Season 5
Being from the UK I already own this DVD,
We do get them earlier than the US does, on average it's about 6 months earlier, however the US versions get extras when they are released, whereas the UK and other parts of the worlds versions do not get any.(Also ours tend to be about twice as expensive!)
So it's a tough decision wether to get it early without extras or wait and get them.

As far as the season goes, sure it is different from the first four, it was always going to be after Aaron Sorkin left.
The season opener is fantastic, the piece of music at the end will give you that same feeling as any of the best moments of the last four years.

Over all that are some great moments in this season; there are some weak moments too, but this is still the best written, best acted, witty, intelligent and engrossing piece of television around at the moment. (Oh yeah, the moment with big bird is hilarious)

Why is it that Amazon UK has already released this title but Amazon US hasn't???

Worth it!
In my opinion, this season was really the end of the decent episodes of west wing. Shortly after the first few, aaron Sorkan left, and WW has spiraled downword until it has reached the point that it has for season 8. I would love to get the 5th season, especally for the beginning where Bartlet's daughter was kidnapped (well the conclution from the cliffhanger season 4)
I and many more West Wing fans agree. We would love to see this season on DVD in the near future.
