3-0 out of 5 stars Stupid, in cute way
This movie is a strange combination of slapstick comedy and soft porn. There are many "stupid" scenes, combined with nudity and simulated sex. The first few minutes are good example of this. The leading lady's boyfriend is continually accidentially abused, and then they have sex. However, putting aside its flaws (I am not a fan of sex scenes), it is generally a fun, mindless movie. For those interested, it does come with English subtitles.

4-0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars on the CUTE rating
To be sure, "Girls Unbutton" would not be considered an Academy award contender. However, the film is very cute, somewhat a more mature, Asian version of "Sixteen Candles". It is also a feel-good movie. Lots of nudity, but with lots of humor. Barring its excessive usage of nudity, it would be a good family movie. Too bad I won't be able to share the movie with my little cousins. END ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars CLASSIC!!!!
Born Invincible must be the most underrated kung fu flick. Kung fu fans never mention this one with the other great classics. This movie is a true old school classic. It has "great fighting" scenes..many of them. It is hilarious. You will laugh every time you hear Carter Wong (who is the tai chi master) speak. Years of training tai chi made his hair white and voice high pitch. He also laughs every time he kills someone. Born invincible has every thing you like in old school kung fu... easily 5 STARS!!!!
$ well spend!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Greatest Kung fu Films of all time.
This movie was amazing! Starring Jack Long (7grandmasters), Mark Long (Ghost face killah) as the good guys facing off against Lo lieh, and the invincible tai chi master Carter Wong. Amazing fight scenes, great story, and Carter Wong in his best role as the white haird high piched killer. If you collect Kung fu films and you don't have this one then your collection is not at all complete. A martial arts Must have.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oops.
I mistook this for another one of those "invincible white monk villain with the single weak spot" movies. It was not the one I was looking for, but it was ok, not outstanding like one of the old Gordon Liu or Venoms stories. I'm sure it was really good in its time. Ok picture quality. Ok DVD bonus features. Trailer is awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars KUNG FU EXTRAVAGANZA
This movie is one of the best Kung Fu movies I have ever seen...
The picture quality is excellent...the fight scenes are some of the best I have ever seen and Carter Wong delivers a stellar performance...this is a MUST HAVE...it's up there with the rest of the great classics...

3-0 out of 5 stars Kung-Fu Weirdness.
Is this film a little bit strange? I'm not a fan of Kung-Fu films per se, but this must be among the most ridiculous ever made. First, great fighting, with brilliantly implausible sound effects, and funny cartoon-y characters as well. The main bad guy, though, will crease you up. For some reason he speaks and laughs like an old lady in distress. It makes the film impossible to take seriously. Also, the plot and the final twist are very well worked, so that the whole movie is like a guessing game for both the viewer and the good characters. It's not classic film-making at all, but for a non martial arts fan I liked it. ... Read more

If you gonna get good action movie titles from Brigitte Lin ,buy - Dragon Inn,The East is Red(SwordmanIII), Swordman II, The Bride With White Hair(skip the part 2) , The Dragon Chronicles The Maidens of Heavenly Mountains, Deadful Melody, and for Zu: The Warriors From Magic Mountains - I find myself falling asleep not because of the plot but of age. If there is a remake of this movie by Yuen Wo Ping as martial art director with Brigitte Lin is gonna be a hit(it is my wish)

Anyway, With The Three Swordmen, you have to force yourself to watch to the end just to understand the plot. The martial art action is not so .......If you want my opinion, you can skip this one; unless you want it just to collect DVD.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good movie, shame about the DVD!
I'm usually a Jet Li/Yuen Woo Ping fanatic, but I figured I could do with a change, so I got this to see some sword play, as opposed to my usual fill of straight up fisticuffs.

The film was alright, but if you haven't seem them already, I'd suggest seeing 'The Swordsman 2' or 'New Dragon Gate Inn' before seeing this.

My major gripe with this movie is with the format, this is basically another bog standard VHS->DVD conversion. The picture is grainy, the sound is so so, and the subtitles are white and imbedded in the picture, as opposed to being selectable. As is always the case with these types of subs, there are sections in the movie where they're unreadable!

To sum up, if you've 'seen everything' and feel like a change, go ahead and give this movie a spin, but if you've already got/seen the VHS version or like your Hong-Kong action without the tongue-in-cheek, I'd give this one a miss. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Tragic Hero
I want to know the languages it has mandarin.

2-0 out of 5 stars Exciting finale, little else.
I saw this film in the theatre on a Chow yun fat film festival. I found the film very amateureshly written. I know action films suspend belief, but this was ridiculous (a woman gets shot in the head, but dosen't die for about 7 minutes, chow recieves over 30 bullet hits in the filnale, but survives.) The story itself was intriguing, but the gun battles were ver outlandish, and out of place (shing fui on's demise is particularly laughable). I can take many stupid violent films of the eighties (AMerican" Lethal Weapon, HK: Tiger on beat), but this one goes too far. It should have stuck with it's story, and not tried try solely to live up to the better tomorrow body count. Danny Lee has a particularly good cameo. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars a weak finish for a good start
Being a CYF fan, I borrowed this DVD hoping to find a masterpiece like HARD BOILED or THE KILLER. Despite being a ganster film, much like a poor man's GODFATHER, TRIADS is entertaining, and, if you're into heavy action, well, this is it.
It drops at the end, but that's OK, for the movie is entertaining and very watchable. ... Read more
