5-0 out of 5 stars My #1 Favorite Box Set of all time
My favorite saga of all time. Goku and Vegeta have loured Kid Buu to the kai planet. Playing rock paper and scissors they decide who will fight him. Im not going to give away all the great goodies. Im just going to say that the fight between goku and buu is the greatest fight ever. The plan that vegeta comes up with is an amazing one. This saga is the greatest saga and should be on everyone list for buying. Its also the end of DBZ so all the DBZ fans out there should definately be trying to get this set.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is deffinately worth it
Okay, to begin: if you like DBZ and you don't mind spending money, get this. It's five discs and they all come in individual cases, each labeled nicely and look cool.

The DVDs:

1.Kid Buu- Regression
This one's okay, kind of boring at times
Three episodes
2.Kid Buu- Saiyan Pride
This is when the good fights start
Three episodes
3.Kid Buu- Vegita's Plea
This one's cool, good fights and not too boring
Three episodes
4.Kid Buu- The Price Of Victory
This is prolly the best of the DVD's because it's a huge relief and you get to see an old technique at it's best
Three episodes
5.Kid Buu- A New Begining
The first episode of this sucks. The other three are a lot better though and you get to see Goku fight someone new...kind of. I won't give it away but Goku has a new friend. And Chi-chi gets mad at him-again.
Four episodes

With a total of 16 episodes, this is a great saga to own.
The extras are okay, nothing that exciting.
It's kinda funny to watch in Japanesse because the voices are so...odd. And it's cool that it's uncut because unlike when it's on Cartoon Network, they actually show blood and things like that. I really like how it's on DVD because you can skip the begining song which is really annoying. Also, you can skip to any episode and any part of the episode you want with the chapter selection thing. There is one thing I didn't like about seeing it uncut and that was Goku's..yeah. Gross. The sound quality is pretty nice, stereo on english but Mono in Japaneese, I think. I recomend this to any DBZ fan over 12. If you buy it, enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dragonball z review
It's a great dvd, Lots of fighting and action scenes, comprehendible, well done, and full of hot anime.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great end to Dragon Ball Z and a great fight too
The Kid Buu Saga is mainly hear to showcase the final round between Goku, Vegeta, and the weak Kid Buu. While Kid Buu is rather weak compared to the other Buu's, Vegeta and Goku are weaker too. This keeps the action pretty intense and the ending (in the second to last DVD I mean) really suprised me. The final DVD is pretty nice and we get to see what happens ten years later. (I will not spoil anything.)

Anyway, the point is that this box set is really a great collection to have and watching the big fight uncut is a really great thing too. Enjoy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars its the end
This saga is the last of the real DragonBall series from the original creator. This particular saga has the best fight scene (beating out the cell games in terms of intensity) and has the best animation (the other world planets are so colorful.) The dubbing for the english version is actually very good, as the voice actors do not sound contrived or forced like they do a lot of the time (i.e. before the cell games, and when buu was still fat). the music keeps the intensity up, and has some more guitar other then the keyboard techno stuff usually done. and the benefit of the DVD's is that you get to see the original japanese with all the swearing and blood (which is just soo much fun.) this saga is generally on the same level as the Cell Games, but I prefer this fight because its just so colorful and artistic. ... As Gundam Seed (2002) continues, the war raging in 70 C.E. (Cosmic Era) becomes less a struggle between the political entities Earth Alliance and ZAFT than a conflict between the Naturals and the genetically enhanced Coordinators. A dedicated ZAFT officer in the tradition of the Gundam Wing pilots, Athrun Zala believes in a warrior's code of honor; reluctant soldier Kira Yamoto cares more about protecting his friends aboard the Earth Alliance ship Archangel than about a space-age version of bushido. Kira rescues Athrun's fiancée Lacus Clyne, the daughter of the ZAFT Supreme Council Chairman, who becomes a hostage and a pawn in the conflict. When Kira returns Lacus to Athrun, he alienates the personnel of the Archangel, confirming their doubts and prejudices about Coordinators. These interlocking conflicts embody the elements that have fueled the popularity of the various Gundam series since 1979. (Rated13 and older: violence, minor profanity) --Charles Solomon ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite character, and one of my favorite sagas
Majin Buu and set free cant be stopped. The only thing thats standing in his way to freedom is babidi. In this saga they go around destroying buildings and citys. Vegeta also fights Majin Buu. He fights bravely but loses. Also Gohan is taken to the Kai World to train with the Z sword. Piccolo takes Trunks and Goten to the look out so that they can practice fusion with goku. Overall this box set is a great buy. Anyone who is a fan of buu should definatly get this.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best saga
In this saga there are a lot of interesting things like goku goes to super sayian 3 and you can also watch the heros goten and trunks practice and fuse for the first time. Also you can watch majin vegeta battel majin buu and watch how babidi dies in the hands of his father's creation. It is the most interisting saga that i ever saw and had and i segest you all to bye it. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly beatiful and exciting story makes a great Box Set
This saga seems like a perfect fit for a box set. It details the adventures of an evil monster named Majin Buu. While this saga lacks in the fighting scenes, it focuses on other aspects. The next two sagas will have tons of fights, but this saga has a monster named Majin Buu and how he destroys cities while the warriors are forced to watch from a far.

It really is a pretty exciting saga. The first two DVD's have the strange emergence of the monster Buu and includes the most fighting in the saga. The end of the second DVD is unexpected and pretty amazing. After that, the rest of the five DVD's detail how Babidi and Majin Buu (and later this will actually change, but I won't spoil) are destroying the world while the warriors watch and prepare from a far.

It really makes the viewer wonder about the monster Majin Buu. This series makes him a sort of "weird" villain in the way he acts, not as one-sided as some of the previous villains and does a good job of making what will happen in the next two sagas make more sense. A great watch, it is very exciting. I highly reccommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars DBZ's weakest story is still worth it.
First of all, for those of you who don't know it, this is the Majin Buu Saga, but the MBS is only part 4 of the six-saga Majin Buu story. The whole story is about even in quality, but this saga is the main turning point.

The Majin Buu story is the last part of DBZ, before Toriyama retired. And one can tell he was already wearing himself thin. The Majin Buu Saga begins when the demon, Majin Buu is unleashed, and the Z Fighters must prepare themsleves for battle with him. Meanwhile Majin Buu goes around destroying the Earth.

Haven't we seen this somewhere before? Oh yes! Majin Buu is practically a clone of Cell! Going from one city to another, destroying everything, while the good guys try desperately to strengthen themselves. THis leads us to the many annoying flaws of the Majin Buu saga and whole story:

1) By the time Gotenks is ready to face Majin Buu at the end of the saga, Buu has already killed 2/3 of the Earth's population. Maybe Goku should ask himself, "these earthlings are such wusses! They run around panicking in the streets just before Buu kills them. You'd think after Cell and Frieza and Vegeta and Piccolo and all those villains, they'd've learned by now! Hm. Is it even worth the effort to save these idiots?" Seriously, after so many villains try to destroy the Earth, I figured the human population would be less stupid and scared.

2) Before the Majin Buu saga, we just all of a sudden hear of this Babidi guy who's trying to ressurect Buu. No connection to past villains (like Cell), no revelations of Goku's past (like Vegeta). Just some random demon we've never even heard of.

3) lesser flaws. It's been increasing since the Piccolo saga, but by now we hardly see any of those cool anthropomorphic animals that coexisted with humans back in Dragonball. Those guys were so cool! And what happened to Tien!? He was the second coolest Z Fighter after Vegeta, and he's missing! Good Grief!

Well, I have been brutal in exposing the saga's flaws, but it has it's bright side too. We do see a lot of character development, including a real noble turn for Vegeta. Plus, we get to see Goku fight Buu as a SS3; one of DBZ's best scene's. So, even though the story is wearing thin, we still see that our heroes haven't lost their shine. That would bring the saga up to 4 stars.

So why does it only get 3 stars? Because those cheapskates at Funimation released it as a 7-disc set! C'mon! The RR Army saga was released on 2 discs, so I imagine this saga could easily come in 3 or 4 discs. But I'll just wait patiently for that before buying this saga.

If you are new to DB or DBZ, don't start with this one. I'd recommend the King Piccolo, Piccolo Jr, Saiyan, or Namek Sagas. Those are definitely Dragonball's golden age. However, if you're a seasoned fan, by all means, go for this flawed, yet fun, saga. Or you could wait until Funimation release a 4 disc set. It's up to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Boxed Set.......
This is a great box set as well as others, i would recommend this boxed set to any dragonball z fans, you should get this boxed set and the babidi boxed set also...... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest cartoon series of all time.
OK, you can tell by the title of my review I'm a bit predisposed to like this set. Kimba The White Lion -needs- to be on DVD for a new generation to fall in love with. But... Is Kimba now in the Public Domain? The treatment the show received on these Rhino DVDs certainly suggests it. They used old films, just like any Public Domain company would do. Nothing has been remastered. And only 26 of the total 52 shows are here. Nowhere is there any word about when the rest of the series will be released. This show deserves much better treatment, and we deserve to see all of it!

5-0 out of 5 stars more kimba, but please give us the other half....
I absolutely love Kimba and this boxed set is great, exactly as it was in my (australian) childhood...my only complaint is that we don't get every episode of Kimba...please release the other half of this boxed set...

Being Australian, I had to buy (another) DVD player, one that was multi-zoned...but when I heard and saw my first love, after all these years...aaawwwwww.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Give us the second half of the series!
Kimba is simply my favorite TV show of all time. I know so many people who said it awakened in them a deep love for animals. For me, it was so great to see such deep truths shown on TV: that love never dies, and the need for a real understanding between people and animals if they're going to survive. Ecology, metaphysics, and love, all in a kids' cartoon along with silly jokes and a catchy theme song!

But this set only has the first half of the series! When will we get Kimba Box Set #2?

4-0 out of 5 stars To dub or not to dub
Actually, I'm I big fan of Fred Ladd's dubbing team for Tezuka's series from this period (Gigantor and Astro Boy), so I'm not so upset at the lack of a Japanese track on this. In Ladd's interview to the Gigantor DVD set he talks about the fact that the episodes were mildly recut, so having English and Japanese as an option would not be possible, because they would not stay in synch.
I do wish more of an effort to find the English language version's negative had been made. These are merely serviceable DVDs --- not quite as awful as dvdreview.com's review indicates (the 1st episode starts out horribly, so perhaps the reviewer didn't keep watching to see the mild improvement!).
I think fans can proceed with caution as to the video quality, but ultimately live with it. Hopefully, as with Gigantor, a second volume will follow.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nihongo Wa Dokoda?
What happened? The series finally gets its due on DVD in the US, and Rhino forgot the most important element of this classic Japanese series: THERE IS NO JAPANESE LANGUAGE OPTION!
How much more do we have to wait until Rhino will get this right?
People have already complained about the quality of the restoration on this boxset, but is it not even more disgraceful that they do not acknowlege the original dialogue? This is one of the most important and influencial animes ever to come on television. Can Rhino disgrace it even more? Let the people have what they have been waiting for. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Animal Magnetism
The "Beastmaster" series is highly entertaining if you like such series as "Xena" and "Hercules". Dar (Daniel Goddard), the Beastmaster, is a warrior who has one adventure after another while on his quest to make things right in the world. His constant traveling companion is Tao (Jackson Raine) a man of logic and intelligence. Dar's secret weapon is his ability to communicate with all animals. Animals that offer their assistance to help Dar. Dar's strength and Tao's wisdom make for a true friendship and unbeatable combination against evil in the world.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beastmaster rocks!
This action-packed dvd took me back to the days of Hercules and Xena on my tv. A funny asian man follows the Beastmaster around, and a barbaric black woman kills herself with a spear by launching it thirty feet in the air and....guess you'll have to buy the dvd!

4-0 out of 5 stars Prepare yourself--this ain't Disney
After reading the review below, I thought I'd better write in to clarify the sexual politics of Revolutionary Girl Utena. If you don't care one way or the other about this issue, read no further. If you do, I hope this will be a guide to help you think about the show.

Revolutionary Girl Utena is 39 episodes long, but for several years only the first 13 episodes have been available in the States. There are three reasons for this. First, the sex. We see teenage characters who are sexually active in some way, even though we don't see what they do. Second, and more important, there are some pretty obvious displays of gay sexuality, including one character who is a lesbian and knows it. Third, there are open discussions of brother-sister incest, including a younger girl who has a hopeless crush on her older brother.

Let's handle these three things one at a time.

1. The sex. In terms of its frankness about teen sex, Utena is more graphic than any US-based cartoon for tweens but far less so than Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So, if Buffy doesn't bother you, this show might not either.

2. The gay themes. This show never judges people for being gay, and the entire series is clearly about finding out what you want and staying true to your own ideals and desires. The main character, Utena, seems to like only boys at first, but she also kind of wants to BE a boy--strong, assertive, and able to defend other girls who are being persecuted or pushed around. In short, this is not a show about traditional family values.

3. The incest stuff. Incest is NEVER presented in a positive light in this show. Quite the contrary, is is portrayed as a tragic reality that is neither imaginary nor safe. The show's insights into the dynamics of family desire are very, very radical, and if you don't even want to THINK about these isues, don't watch the show. However, if you want to see a show that takes the issue seriously and will give you food for thought about what incest MEANS, you are in for a revelation.

[Note--The Black Rose Saga also has hints of teacher-student sexual relations, and these are handled similarly. The reality of such relations is acknowledged, but there no sense of sexiness, much less of approval]

This middle segment of the show, The Black Rose Saga, is the least interesting one. It's sort of a lengthy pause between the first arc, which handles the development of Utena as a "prince," and the last arcs, which deal with two basic questions: what does it really mean to be a "prince," and what would it take to revolutionize the world? However, even though it's a pause, it's still an interesting portrait of some minor characters and their own struggles, which are often different from Utena's.

In terms of its overall take on sexuality and desire, Utena is more radical than ANY show in the US, including Xena, OZ, Queer as Folk, etc. In terms of its sexual politics it just might be the most radical TV show, ever. By the time the series is over, the show has pretty much completely revised the whole idea of how men and women are supposed to relate to each other and what it means for them to desire each other. From the simple image of a prince on a white horse, an entire new fairy tale emerges that suggests women, and men, are headed toward a very new future. I can't say more without spoiling the show.

I write all this becuase US fans of Utena often attempt to downplay these issues and say that the characters aren't "really" gay, etc. Fine--but the characters aren't "really" straight, either. They are complex, powerful, and often tragic individuals who are trying to figure out what they want in life. I think we need more shows like this, both for teen viewers and for the rest of us. But make no mistake, this isn't just some adventure cartoon with cool fight scenes, and it will try to make you ask questions about your own desires.

5-0 out of 5 stars The second season of the greatest anime of all time.
The release of the second arc/season of Utena is a big deal-a very big deal for us in the states. The Black Rose arc is far from being the best Utena series, but is still better than most series. It's fighting sequences are better than that of the first season, but it dosen't focus on character relationships the way the 1st does, but gives us a good insight on the secondary characters of the show, such as:: Kanae, Kozue, Shiori, Tswuabuki, Wakaba & her Onion Price, and Keiko. It also introduces us to the so called "villians" of Utena, Mikage and Mamiya. The relationship between the two has scared some off from this series but please, there aren't any real fruity scenes between the two. It never goes farther than Mikage kissing Mamiya's fingers- so if you're homophobic, you'll still enjoy this series. Mikage is a very interesting character with a dark past that will give this series quite a shocking season finale. Don't pass up the series that shocked Japan and is flying off the US racks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good! An excellent dub.
Well, perhabs except for one. Jessica Boone does a terrific job for Hio Mio-san who is introduced in this volume. Her voice is whiny and sarcastic enough that it grates on your nerves, which is just what you want for this character. She does "pretend" to fall in love with Daisuke, and manages to freak the poor guy out with chasing him around the school, and glomping him while in a scantaly clad bikini. There are reasons behind this that I shall not reveal though. All those answers will be revealed in the next dvd. Another character is introduced, and her name is Towa no Shirube, Towa for short. (She is known as To-To in the manga, which is a jip since they do call her Towa in the original japanese manga) Anyway, she is "stolen" by Dark and becomes part of the Niwa Household as a maid. All in all, this is a terrific dvd, with excellent dubbing and should be added to your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Daisuke now has another girl chasin after him!!!
A new character is introduced in this dvd. Her name is Mio Hio and oh my god she acts soo....white. Turns out she fell for Daisuke when she meets him in class and every time after that shes been stalking him. Other than that Dark works even harder trying to conceil the truth of the kiss happening from Daisuke. It's sad though how it all has to end for Risa. Turns out that Dark loved her grandmother and that Risa resembles her and for that he claims that he can never see her again. I would recommend this dvd to all fans of the previous dvds and I just want to say that the anime over all is very good. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The most heartfelt series I've ever seen.
(As of the time this review was written, no information on this series is posted, so I'll give a brief synopsis of this series.)

Fruits Basket (called "Furuba" by fans) is the story of Tohru Honda, a high school student who has lost both of her parents. Her mother died only a year before the start of the series, and Touru misses her so much that she always carries her picture around with her. Tohru was living with her paternal grandfather until he began renovations on his home, so he asked her if she'd mind staying with some friends for awhile. Touru didn't want to impose on either of her friends, so she decided to set up a tent in the woods until the house was finished.. until one day she stumbles across the home of her classmate Yuki Sohma, and accidentally discovers his family's BIG secret - when "huggled" by someone of the opposite sex, they are cursed to turn into the animals of the Chinese zodiac. Tohru ends up moving in with the Sohma family as a housekeeper/cook in exchange for room and board, and she is introduced one-by-one to the rest of the clan (some of whom are.. VERY.. unusual).

Now, you might be telling yourself "I've seen this before, and it's name was 'Ranma 1/2'.." - and you have NO IDEA how very wrong you are. Fruits Basket is a one of a kind series that manages to take a premise that could very well have followed the same path as Ranma (namely, relying on perverted jokes and accidental transformations to convey most of the plot and comedy), but instead becomes a chronicle of truly believable characters struggling to belong and dealing with what life has given them, both the good and bad.

Over the course of its 26 episodes, Fruits Basket has made me laugh harder than any other anime I've ever seen, and then it goes right ahead and takes me on an emotional rollercoaster ride until I'm bawling along with the characters onscreen. But no matter what happened, it always leaves me with a smile and a feeling that if I could just have an ounce of the inner strength that these characters display, I would be all the better for it.

Don't let me mislead you into thinking this is merely a cheesy tearjerker - Fruits Basket has PLENTY of high-energy martial arts battles, slapstick comedy, and wacky plot twists, but underneath all of this lies a deep emotional current that EVERYONE can connect with. If you've ever been jealous or angry with your family, undergone the loss of a close relative, felt completely alone, watch the people you love leave you behind, or have simply been misunderstood, you will regret missing this series. The true power of this series is found not in the comedy, but in the relationships between both family and friends.

On a more shallow level, the characters are mostly rather good-looking, the animation is attractive - no amazing special effects, of course, but consistently high quality and well-suited to the story, and the music is very beautiful. Overall, this is a series for everyone to see, from the shoujo (girls') romance fans to comedy lovers to drama affectionados. You will NOT be disappointed - by episode 26, I guarantee you'll find yourself upset that ANOTHER season doesn't exist (yet). ^_^

5-0 out of 5 stars Anime at its best.
Fruits Basket is quite an interesting anime, at first the show seems to over the top, and can turn off potential viewers with the giant eyes and the crazy fan club girls, but on episode two the show really kicks off, and with the introduction of new characters, each of whom are unique and different in their own way and devolop quite a bit over the course of the series, the show becomes even funnier, as a note Fruits Basket has an amazing dub, for those who like dubs, in fact, most of the time I watch this series dubbed.

As a note I consider the Fruits Basket DVDs to be really the first truely amazingly done DVDS, at the time (Or at least to my knowledge) most Anime discs had 2-5 episodes and th only features were textless endings (Can you say crappy and boring?) but Fruits basket has not only previews for other Funimation stuff, but interviews, a documentary of the "eye catches" (Which are explained in the documentry) and even behind the scenes footage. AND 6 episodes per disc, and the disc has 3 regions, any fan of special features would freak out, why the only way they could get any better would be is if it came with a poster or something rather.

Overall I suguest Fruits Basket to anyone who is willing to give it a chance, the anime has elements from many genres and is a perfect balance of Comedy and Character devolopment.

Buy it today.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
When I first started watching this series I expected to dislike it. I generally dislike anime focused around everyday japanese schoolgirls and prefer fantasy/fighting anime (berserk/kenshin/etc). At first glance (actually the first 15 minutes) Fruits Basket seemed to be one of those carbon-copied, overly-cliched animes involving schoolgirls, cute boys, tragic pasts, with the odd bit of fantasy/mythology thrown in. Also, Tohru's eyes were freakishly large enough to frighten me.

After watching the first three episodes I pulled a complete 180 (although the tortured pasts are still there). Fruits Basket is an utterly charming story.

It's rather hard to describe without delving into trite phrases. It's sweet but not saccharine; gentle but not dull; funny but not banal.

It's not all fluffyness and light. Occasionally tragedy strikes (or was unearthed). All of the characters are developed and are so fleshed out that you really feel it when they hurt. This is the one anime that has almost made me cry, and it was over a character that up until that particular moment in time I seriously disliked.

However sad events become, Fruits Basket always ends on an uplifting note of hope.

I normally reccomend anime to people whom like a particular genre. However, I believe that Fruits Basket has a universal appeal. I have yet to meet anyone whom has seen this series in its entirety who has not liked it.

If you want a change from action/sci-fi/fighting/cheesy romance/anything anime, Fruits Basket is a wonderful way to go.

Tohru's eyes are still really, really big though. Don't let it get to you. ;P

5-0 out of 5 stars Where to start...
First off the story, about the young and helpful Tohru Honda becoming the house keeper of the Soma family, a family who are cursed to turn into an animal of the Chinese zodiac if hugged by the opposite sex, is both funny and touching. The characters are all well developed and the background is very detailed. The interaction can be a tad wild at times, but what's anime without some combat and silly faces?
We learn a lot about all the characters in the six episodes on this DVD. SIX episodes, over two hours, 123 minutes! Now include the extras, like character profiles, textless songs, a behind the scenes featurette, and you have a wonderful story at a wonderful value. The songs are also something to listen to, perfect for this series.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
In this review I will discuss this movie's good and bad points. First, some of the new characters like Sakura, Rose, and Birdie were in the movie briefly but in a meaningful way. Secondly, the dubbing was very good. The scenes with Sakura in them were very cute and humorous, even Ryu's alleged brother Shun had some adorable moments.

Now on to the bad points, the back of the movie box claims that this movie is a sequel to the Street Fighter II V series, however this is not the case. In fact Chun-Li is reintroduced to Ryu and Ken (yawn).

This movie has character designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi the result is that the characters look the way that they do in the Street Fighter Alpha games which in my opinion isn't nearly as good as the character designs in the Street Fighter II movie or the SF II V series. The fact that this is a Street Fighter movie I expected the fight scenes to be equal to or better than the fight scenes in the previous SF movie or television series, but unfortunately the fight scenes aren't that great. Also, I was a little upset that some of the Alpha characters that were in the movie like Guy, Sodom, Rolento, Adon, Vega, Dhalism, and Dan, had roles that were short-lived and corny. The story wasn't fully realized by the writer's in my opinion, because it had the potential for being so much more than a story fit for a Saturday morning cartoon show. The characters were also in many cases repeating the same tired lines over and over again which was very annoying.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good dvd, BAD movie
Very dissapointed with how this movie turned out. I don't where the script writers came out with younger brother angle , but it doesn't work. Rule One : Don't rewrite histories of established , tried-and-true ,bread -and-butter characters , geez! Some scenes are very reminiscient of Akira and Dragonball Z , only very hacknyed and lame. Too much groaning and powering for SF in my opinion. The whole movie kinda floats around with barely any screentime for all those new Alpha fighters. The movie SHOULD have been based around a tournament , with nice, lengthy fights..only nauseating or incredibly short fights here.
And the character designs are ugly and very strange..I loved the art in Street Fighter II V...how can they drop the ball on a feature film?!
On to the DVD, video and sound quality are excellent , and I was pleased by the extras (interviews with the REAL cast for once). And the requisite trailers..if you are SF fanatic or completist , then go ahead pick it up. Otherwise , look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Way It Should Be!
First and foremost, I love the Street Fighter series, ever since Street Fighter II: World Warrior was made available on Nintendo, ahhh memories.
The thing that set Street Fighter apart from anything else were the strength of the characters, diverse yet loveable over time. All had very interesting histories that had led them to this point, (hence the creation of the current Udon comics).
I have to say i love this movie. This film is the way it should be. I'm such a sucker for films which combine an element of destiny and spiritual self discovery.
I think i'm definitely a minority when i say that this animation is better than the animated effort before it, Street Fighter - The Animated Movie. That film had good combat sequences but failed miserably in delivering a story, i mean come on it was so cheesy, it hurt. And the voice acting... OH MY GOD, that was sooo bad!
Anyway, that is in the past and now we have Street Fighter Alpha, it's just soo perfect, adopting a very compelling story, although i do believe it loses its way towards the end.
The writers have done great job with the script, whereby the characters convey themselves the way should be, along with the voice acting which is also perfect. It really is, the script and voice acting make the characters likeable (i particularly like the way Ken was intepreted), we can really understand their positions. Unlike the previous film which made the characters appear arrogant and stupid, it made me hate the characters more than anything.
Also the animation is very nice, with very "arty" moments such as Ryu's blood washing away in the rain, these moments really add to the film as whole.
Sorry i know i'm long winded, but the ending is also worth noting, i don't think many people like it, but i always like an ending with some question attached and climax.

All in all, a great film
This coming from a loyal and huge Street Fighter fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars A STORY BEYOND THE AVERAGE STREET FIGHTER STORY LINE
PERHAPS ONE OF THE BEST STREET FIGHTER STORYS OF ALL TIME. THE MOVIE DOESN'T ONLY SHOW YOUR FAVORITE ALPHA FIGHTERS, BUT ALSO TAKES A DEEPER LOOK IN THE STREET FIGHTER WORLD. AS RYU TRIES TO OVERCOME THE DARKNESS WITHIN HIM, HE MUST ALSO FIND OUT WHO HE REALLY IS AS WELL AS FINDING THE TRUTH BEHIND A "LONG LOST BROTHER". IT'S REALLY EMOTIONAL AND HAS A SOILD STORY TO GO WITH IT. IF YOU LIKE THE STREET FIGHTER MOVIES AND INTO DEEP STORY LINES, THEN DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET THIS UNBELIEVABLE STREET FIGHTER MOIVE.

4-0 out of 5 stars great Anime
This anime has some very nice backgrounds and such - the water training scene in particular has a zen peacefullness to it. The animation during the fight sequences is generally done very well and there are a few moments that are awesome. The drawing style is unique and I really liked it. The story is pretty weak - typical street fighter "with great power comes great responsibility" I guess. Some of the fight scenes are really spectacular - though I found myself waiting a bit too long for them sometimes. I understand that the whole movie cant be fighting, but when you name a movie Street Fighter I just wanted a little more. All in all I would say this is easily as good as every other street fighter movie made and I appreciate the inclusion of Akuma, though it would be nice to see Guile and Dhalsim play larger roles. Down, Down-Forward, Forward+Punch.
As far as the extra features go, I dont know, I never watch that crap. If you are really looking for an awesome anime, this is definately one of them, but if you havent seen Ninja Scroll or Vampire Hunter Bloodlust then I would say get those first. ... Read more

If you're looking for a different kind of anime, Sakura Diaries might just fit the bill. It's a clever, quirky romantic comedy spiced up with lots of goofy humor and a splash of R-rated eroticism. Tuoma Inaba is your average country-boy loose in the big city. He arrives in Tokyo to take his college entrance exams, but Tuoma's not too bright and he fails them all. In short order our hero enrolls in a cram school, poses as a student at the prestigious Keio University in order to pursue one beautiful girl, and moves in with another--his cousin Urara who has a huge crush on him. Then things start to get complicated. This collector's edition contains all 12 episodes of Sakura Diaries. Because it is based on an uncensored version of the Japanese original, there are several differences between it and the earlier multivolume release on VHS and DVD. The plot remains essentially the same, but there's more nudity and newly translated subtitles, and there is no English dub. If you already own the earlier edition and don't care about a few extra seconds of skin, you probably don't need the collector's edition, but for completists and those new to Sakura Diaries, this is the definitive version. --Simon Leake ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sakura Diaries Uncut!
At last the original version is out! The previous 4 part tape and DVD editions were taken from a hacked TV version of these OVAs. The hacked versions also had dubious dialogue for the subtitles that made the characters seem different than what they were. The dubbed dialogue was even worse on those as it rarely even came close to the sub dialogue. Happily those defects have now been fixed in the collector's edition: There is no dubbed dialogue and the sub is now accurate to the Japanese dialogue. Cut nudity has been rstored. There are even liner notes, which is unusual for ADV. The one feature not mentioned is that it also has the original next volume previews--the OAVs were originally released on VHS in Japan at 2 episodes per volume. The story ends at a natural point, but the ending tells us that there are more stories to be told. ADV is co-producing shows in Japan that will then become part of their future releases(The new Rurouni Kenshin OVA series)and this series would seem like another good series to continue. Enjoy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Average Show, but Good Value
Sakura Diaries revolves around three characters. Urara loves Touma, but Touma wants to date Mieko. Mieko will only data a college student, so Touma crams for the entrance exams while pretending to already be in college. The story is far more serious than anime like Tenchi and Ranma.

This series was originally released as 4 DVDs. It was later discovered that two versions of the show existed, so ADV decided to release the second version as a box set. The material in this version is a little more risque than the original (i.e. it's not for kids). ADV redid the subtitles for this release, and by all accounts, the new subtitles are more accurate. However, there is no English dub on this version. If you hate subtitles, this release isn't for you. If subtitles don't bother you, this is a great value--you get over 4 hours of animation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Love Hina, thats for sure...
First off, Urara had long hair in her youth, should have kept it long... somewhere along the path of life she lost her way, for shame Urara -_-; Secondly, I wish I had a back scrub like that! *_* (watch the show & you'll know what I mean) ..OK, with that said..

I'd have to agree with the other reviews. At first I was under the impression that this anime would have typical "Love Hina" or "Chobits" style storyline to it. It does in some ways, but the overall story follows a different path. A path that slowly but surely grabs your attention & keeps you locked in. What I mean is, the first 2 or so episodes feel like any other anime out there, but as the story progresses there are a surprising/interesting plot twists & very good character developement. The humour, as with most Japanese anime, is always a bonus side-dish ^_^

The ending once again, is some-what abrupt, but by the time I saw episode 11, I knew they'd pull off an abrupt ending. We're left to answer most of the questions for ourselves... so keep in mind that this anime focuses on the theme of "love/relationships" & "journey to self-discovery". Rather than asking what happens, think about what the characters did to overcome their problems & as a result the direction the story was going close to the ending. Once you do that the answers should come naturally. If you keep that in mind, the ending will feel a lot better. You'd say to yourself, "Ah! So thats what they were going for/getting at! ^_^"... that or I could be crazy, watch it & you be the judge!

Anyway, (final notes...) I think the network that was airing the show might have put then on the cutting block or they might have had too small a budget to pull of anymore than half a season's worth of episodes. In any case, if you like romance with a side of naughty humour, you must see this show. And yes, at first, I too said "WTF?^^ MATE" cause the ending was all like "THEE EEND!!"

Done reading my essay? Good. Now hit the "BUY" button. Hehee.. hope this review helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable from the start!
I really enjoyed this anime series. I picked it up on impulse, and was drawn in on the story. The story (I watched it in jap. with eng. subtitles) made me feel connected to the characters, and I wanted them to be happy. I cannot compare it to any other anime romantic comedies, for I have seen none. The first time I saw the ending I was heartbroken, but the second time through, I realized it ending with a feeling of hope for Urara and Toumi.

4-0 out of 5 stars horrible ending
i fully enjoyed the series of Sakura Diaries, except the ending. it was very anti climatic and left me with alot of questions. i wont go into detail because that would ruin this series. the ending is horrible!! i thought that there was one more episode after it, but no i looked and looked. there was no other episode. i was left with WTF MATE^^. i was shocked and appualed that there was no extra episode and that that was the ending. overall, the series gets an A, the ending gets a F=(yes thats a double minus) ... Kintaro Oe, a 25-year-old dropout from Tokyo University Law School, bicycles around Japan "learning about life" like an Asian Along Came Bronson. He takes various part-time jobs, surprising everyone by excelling at everything he does, despite his goofy demeanor. He's lucky he's a quick study, as he spends most of his time ogling pretty women, cleaning toilets, and getting beat up. In this six-part 1995 OAV, he writes code at a software company, helps a corrupt mayor get re-elected, and learns to make noodles by hand. The animation is often sloppy--Kintaro changes appearance frequently--and the artists clearly concentrated on the bouncing breasts and jiggling derrières. Kintaro is a good-hearted and generally agreeable goof, but the slight plots and leering humor of this series will quickly bore anyone but a lecherous adolescent. As Kintaro's enthusiasm is matched only by his libido, it's all very silly and often crass, with his visceral reactions digitally disguised. Rated 17 Up: nudity, violence, profanity, sexual and toilet humor. --Charles Solomon ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars WITH A HEART AS GOOD AS GOLD
The suggested age for this dvd is 17+ for a good reason. Kintaro Oe is 25 and dropped out of law school not because he couldn't hack it, but because he had already mastered the curriculum and wasn't learning anything. So now he bicycles from place to place, getting any part-time job that suits his fancy, writing and drawing in notebooks. He still studies, but his major is now life itself.

Kintaro usually thinks with his libido. For example, when he sees a beautiful woman who turns out to be a swimming instructor, he gets a job as an instructor, even though he doesn't know how to swim. After he is exposed, he tells her he will beat her in a swimming race if she will give him a job while he's training. He fantasizes about her, and as in other episodes, he especially has a fetish for the toilets beautiful women sit on. She thinks Kintaro is a scumbag. The interesting thing is that he improves the training program at the school and actually revolutionizes their methods. In the end, the swimming instructor falls in love with him, but he disappears, on to another adventure even as she realizes her mistake about him.

Most of other 5 episodes follow a similar pattern. He gets a job around beautiful women, they think he's scum, until at the end he has changed their life. Just like GTO, even though the character seems perverted, in the end there is no sex. He helps out a sofware company, becomes an anime gopher, chases a motorcycle chick, saves a virgin from her caddish fiance, and has to deal with a yakuza mob boss.

This dvd was really funny. The voice actor doing Kintaro overacted as needed and the women were drawn in ways that actual humans could never be proportioned. Some people probably couldn't deal with the sexual humor on display here, but at least Kintaro is honest with his urges, and in the end knows exactly what he is doing. The real Kintaro has a heart of gold. This is a good price for 2 dvds.

First I am tired with all the neo feminist reviews. As a loyal amazon custumer. I would like once a review by amazon that's not "Neo Feminist". Anyway I liked this collection. I personally love it when the hero is clumsy and a little quirky. Brings a little realism and fun to the character. Yes the animation does look sloopy in some of the areas. But I think that is because the director or the animatior wanted to show the lude scenes as such. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I expected, but a very good anime
I first watched this anime many years ago as a dub. And despite the many criticisms it recieved for the actors and actresses participating in the english dubbing, I thought they were pretty good. Yakumo's original english voice did a really good job and so did several others. This dvd dub doesn't have the same enthusiasm and same feel as the original dubbing, though Yakumo's english voice displayed great voice acting. I guess I didn't like this dubbing so much because I was so used to the original dubbing of the film and much of the dialogue was changed.

Anyways, on to my review...The video quality is not of the usual dvd quality seen in more recent dvd anime, due to the age of the film. However, the second disc, since it is newer, has better animation and artwork.

The story is pretty good and is one of my favorite anime of all time. However, the story seems unresolved in this dvd set and hopefully there will be future plans in continuing the story (I've heard rumors of a tv series of 3x3 eyes). The romance within the story is also well done. All in all, this anime classic should be watched by all anime fans. Despite all of the obstacles it had on its way to America, 3x3 eyes finally made its way here and hopefully many will come to appreciate this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Little Known Anime Classic
3x3 has to be one of the virtually unknown classics of anime-and this DVD set has to be the best deal for a fan there is. Previously only the first 4 parts of the 7 were release on VHS, leaving 5&6 hard to find-while 7 never actually came out for the public (at least in America, I could be wrong else where.)

The mini-series begins the saga of Yakumo, and his quest to make Pai, his demon-acquaintance, human. A strange bond develops between the two of them, binding them together through thick and thin. Their journey takes them to Hong Kong and back to Japan, where they finally become separated-how they get back together is a story in its own.

The animation is great is some places, and lacking in others-but the strange plot and crazy characters make up for it. The music might seem a tad familiar to any one who has seen Braveheart-you might even swear that the producers of Braveheart borrowed it from the anime :) 3x3 Eyes is, however, extremely gory, which is critical to plot. But the gore is well done, and a vital part of enjoying the anime, in my humble opinion. ;) The series is truly superb for any otaku or anime-fan, but perhaps a little too much for someone just getting started on their anime fix.

4-0 out of 5 stars 3X3 Eyes
This dvd is excellent. The only reson I only gave it four stars is because it leaves off just when the plot starts to fall into place.

1-0 out of 5 stars the cover is a lie
when i first bought this anime i thought i was buying something with good-looking anime (like on the cover) with a fun plot.boy was i wrong!the picture on the cover is so incredibly different than the drawings in the movie.pass this one up!the plot is fine actually, a boy trying to save a girl from a life she doesn't want by helping her find this magical statue.sounds cool right?wrong.not only did they somehow manage to ruin this cool sounding plot but you are totally disgusted by the characters and how they're drawn.please believe me when i say you do not want this dvd.(i only gave this dvd a star because you just can't give a movie with ten drawings a second no stars.that would be totally cruel.even if it did turn out to be a bad movie.)

4-0 out of 5 stars It was okay
The first four episodes were good and I happened to like them. (But I was kind-of angry that they got rid of some of the parts which I liked in the manga). But the last three, when Pai loses her memories, got me upset. They weren't good and because of them they made me stop liking the series. (of course, that didn't last when volume 7 of the manga came out). The story is a LOT better in the manga. What makes me wonder is why the producers only made 7 episodes when the story continues to get even better. (there are 40 volumes in the manga. That's a lot.) Since this was made in the late 80's or early 90's, don't expect the animation to be all that good. Some of the movement kind of bugged me and well... I didn't watch it in english, but I bet it was terrible. I think they should find better voice actors for anime, its starting to really piss me off. Anyway if you feel that you have to watch it, I recommend borrowing it from a friend or renting it to save money or better yet, is to get the manga. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another entertaining movie
I was a little skeptical when I picked up this DVD (after being a little disappointed by the 4th movie), but I was pleasantly surprised by this movie!
"Pokemon Heroes" follows the typical 'fun things happen, but then the ending is bittersweet' plot established back in the first movie, but I'm not complaining. Latios and Latias are some of the most personable legendaries that I've seen so far. The story is straightforward, easy to follow, and Ash&Co's involvement is not quite as horribly forced as in previous movies.

Unlike the earlier movies, the CG elements are not always totally obvious. (Some are, some aren't. Better than the previous movie, at least!) The music fits the scenes well. The new characters were likeable, for the most part. Annie and Oakley made interesting and entertaining additions to Team Rocket. The DVD also includes the "Camp Pikachu" short, which was one of the better mini-movies, and several addition features. The best of these was "animation stages", which let you really get a good feeling of how the movie was put together. Scouting videos from Venice are also on the DVD, and are a nice touch!

All in all, if you're a fan of Pokemon (or have someone in the family who is), I highly recommend this DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars great movie!
Pokemon has always been one of my favorite animes, the reason is because it gives the audience an upbeat and esthusiastic sensation that's hard to forget. Some people may find the TV series a bit boring, but I can guarantee you, Pokemon's 5th movie, Pokemon Heroes, is no where close to boredom since 80% of the time is filled with suspense and action.

The movie does not emphasize on the "one person who saves all" perspective, which means Ash, to my surprise, does not play the major role here; his significance in this movie is far less than that of Latias and Latios, the two legendary guardians that protect the city that looks almost identical to Venice. Unlike Pokemon 2000, Ash does not takes his enemies out with Pikachu, his courage and bravery in this movie cannot prevent the destruction of the city. This reflects that the word "heroes" in Pokemon Heroes does not refer to Ash and his gang, rather, it focuses on Latias and Latios' sacrificial actions (especially Latios).

Like all other Pokemon movies, the graphics are beautifully drawn and rendered. When Ash is running away with Latias in street alleys near the beginning of the movie, the first person view of the scenary mixed with 3D effect is truly breathtaking! It is comparable to Miyazaki's Spirited Away's 3D rendering, and to some degree, better than that of Spirited Away's.

The background musics give the audience a sensation of Venice's (though the city is not Venice in the movie), and musics can be heard most of the time throughout the anime, which do not create boredom because they match up with the atmosphere perfectly.

Pokemon Heroes is truly an amazing film, anyone who loves Pokemon animes should watch it, and anyone who's bored of the protagonist saving the entire world should watch this for a change, it will not give you disappointment!

5-0 out of 5 stars A good movie a must have.
I love this movie. It even has a little short in the begining to tell adults what pokemon is about. So adults don't get counfused when they are stuck watching it with their kids. And the relationship between Latios and Latias is so cute. It had a couple of parts that made me laugh. But in the end Latios dies and I cried. Latias holds her big brother's hand. And has to let go. And Latias watches as her big brother dissaper before her eyes. But it has a happy ending. You can see Latios and Latias flying across the city with their farther.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST MOVIE OF THE CENTURY
This is a movie to remember. This is so good. If you did not like it, then some things wrong with you.

5-0 out of 5 stars It was fantastic!!!!
I loved it. I think it is one of the best movies so far aside from pokemon the movie 2000. I was sort of disapointed about the 4th movie and was reluctant to watch the newer ones. What confuses me is that the setting of the movie is in Hoenn...right? Well, why is misty back. I mean, thats not a bad thing and I would have liked it better if misty stayed jurneying through the Hoenn region with Ash and Brock. For the most part I give this movie 2 thumbs up and recomend for u to watch it.^_^ ... These 13 episodes recount Goku's first adventures and introduce some of the main characters from the phenomenally popular comedy-adventure. A small boy from another planet, Goku commands superhuman strength, but he was raised by an old man who taught him to use his powers only to fight evildoers. Goku stumbles onto Bulma, who is trying to assemble the seven enchanted Dragon Balls so she can wish for a boyfriend. The naive boy and the hot-tempered girl join forces to collect the magic spheres. They enter into a quarrelsome alliance with Oolong, the shape-shifting pig; Yamcha, the dashing bandit (who wants the Dragon Balls to wish away his shyness around girls); and Yamcha's metamorphic familiar Pwar. The heroes don't realize they're competing for the Dragon Balls with the pint-sized Blue Meanie, Emperor Pilaf (who plans to use the Dragon Balls to rule the world), and his two ninja flunkies, Mia and Chao. The wild card in the conflict is Roshi, a lecherous old man who is a master of extraordinary martial arts techniques. This version of the comic action series has been heavily edited, which infuriates some fans, but it still offers plenty of elaborate fights and slapstick comedy. "Curse of the Blood Rubies" is a "feature" that consists of recut chunks of the first four episodes on the discs, combined with sections of the "Legend of Shenlon" adventure. The evil King Gurumes is oppressing his people and digging up his once-fertile realm to obtain the fabulous Rubies. He wants the Dragon Balls to wish himself free of the insatiable gluttony that has transformed him into a bloated monster, and will do anything to obtain them, which brings him into conflict with Goku, Bulma, and company. Although the film contains nothing but reused footage, the story doesn't fit into the overall Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z continuity. Rated 5 and older, but more appropriate for ages 8 and up: minor nudity, toilet humor, and cartoon violence. --Charles Solomon ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars English Version of Dragonball
I bought this was going to be the coolest DVD ever. On the box its says original Japanese version but thats B.S. They cut out all the funniest parts that are not suitible for children. Also on the box it says it has an interactive game but all it is is a stupid quiz, but what i really hate is that it is only in english. They have english subtitles available but no Japanese words to go with it. If you want to get the whole story get the comics. Even though it is missing all that it is still ok and has all English episodes and the movie Curse Of The Blood Rubies. I just wish that they would make a better DVD set that was unedited, had Japanese language available to hear it in, and had a better Chapter selection. Maybe Pioneer could buy the rights and make a real anime DVD.

2-0 out of 5 stars Edited and not original
This DVD set edits out much of the original. I personally do not like it edited and would like to see the original version. Some of the voices don't sound like the original and they put this cheap looking underwear on Goku. It looks bad if you get this DVD.

DO NOT GET THE REGION 4 DVD FROM AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!! You can not play this on any American DVD player unless it specically says that it is multi-region. That is going to cost around 200 dollars! It may work on your computer, but I rather watch it on my TV. I am almost positive that they will release the same DVD set you can by in Australia in America in the region one coding. We just need to wait a while. The company is almost done releasing all the Dragonball series on DVD and only have the Tien and Pilaf Saga left. Just be patient and it will eventually come out in America.

1-0 out of 5 stars an alternative
Yes. this set sucks. but funimation has already released the UNCUT set on a 2-disc region 4 dvd set. it contains english dub uncut, english subtitled uncut, and original japanese uncut. go here: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/225572

3-0 out of 5 stars the severly edited episodes
After watching this one can tell that this was not the recent releases done on cartoon network. If anything after watching this it brings back the thought that this was once released years ago in a severly edited format. Not to say that this is bad or anything because for the most part the story arcs are still there. However the most comedic elements of these episodes like when goku first heres about a bath and Bulma has to bathe him, or the severe pervertedness of Master Roshi are all edited out and replaced with dialouge that is corny or removed entirly. This is an allright set at the right price, and good for little kids. But for fans who have been getting the sagas that funimation has been releasing as of late, I would not bother.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun For All Ages
When I first bought this DVD, I was expecting something similar to what I saw on Cartoon Network. Well, I was partly right. There were more parts in the DVD than on the TV show, but the voices seemed a little off. Other than that, the humor was great, and you get the Curse of the Blood Rupies free in this Box Set. I recommend this and other Dragon Ball DVDs as a good way to start watching Anime or just go back to the simpler, more carefree anime. ... Read more

Producers at Harmony Gold edited together Super Dimension Fortress: Macross, Genesis Climber Mospeada, and Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross to create Robotech (1985), a landmark sci-fi adventure that helped to establish an audience for Japanese animation in America. In the final episodes of the Macross segment, the Lisa-Rick-Minmei romantic triangle plays out against the ongoing Earth-Zentraedi conflict and the machinations of rebel Zentraedi captain Khyron, which devastate much of the planet.

Intimations of a new threat posed by the distant Robotech Masters serve as a lead-in to the second part of the epic. A planned 65-episode fourth installment in the saga was never completed, but the first four episodes and some additional footage were combined into the feature Robotech II: The Sentinels, the final installment in the Robotech continuity. The supplemental "Elements of Robotechnology III" disc includes The Sentinels, a trailer for it prepared for the 1987 Toy Fair, and a rather self-serving commentary by writer-director Carl Macek. Members of Gen-X who grew up on Robotech will delight in retracing these romances and battles; it's a classic, of sorts. Viewers accustomed to the more rapid pacing, dynamic action, and sophisticated direction of recent anime will tire of the endless shilly-shallying. Unrated; suitable for ages 8 and up: Mild violence restricted to spaceship and robot battles. --Charles Solomon ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Final Box of the Macross Saga
This box set contains the following. Robotech Vol. 5, Robotech Vol. 6 and Robotech Extra Disc 3. Since the first two discs can be bought seperately, my review will be on the extra disc.

This disc is focused on the Harmony Gold\Tatsuko studio's sequel to Robotech right after the Macross Saga ends called The Sentinals. Unlike Codename Robotech, the video quality here was extremely well. The audio commentary by Carl Macek is sadly a text he read from one of his books explaining the Sentinels. The rest of the extras center around the Sentinals. Inluding bios on all characters, mecha design sheets, character models and promotional film with additional footage. The only extra that seperates itself from the Sentinals is the two International Clips which both feature Minmei.

The Sentinals is the story of the surviving crew from Macross along with new ones that build the SDF-3 to establish piece negotiations with the Robotech Masters. While Rick contemplates getting married to Lisa, the Robotech Master's people are having some trouble when the Invid come searching for the Flower of Life.

Overall, great episodes, great extras, how can you argue? A must have for any anime fan.

Note: Look for an Astro Boy and Godzilla toy box in Episode 35.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Dramatic Conclusion...MUST OWN
The Robotech Legacy: Macross Saga Collection 3, a three disc collection, contains episodes 25 through 36 of the legendary anime series from the mid 1980s. The first two discs contain six episodes each. The third disc contains the "Exclusive DVD feature presentation" of "Robotech II: The Sentinels," the little seen feature film of the aborted "Season Two" of Robotech. It is only available if you purchase this boxed set. Out of all the releases, the special feature makes this 3rd Boxed Set Collection a MUST OWN!!!

Set in the 21st century, Robotech was the most popular of the Americanized Japanese anime series to hit American TV waves during the 1970s and 1980s. Known for its cutting edge animation, high tech battle scenes, futuristic weapons (planes, tanks, motorcyles that transform into robots), cool alien invaders, and realistic and compelling storylines, Robotech swept an entire generation and helped put Japanese Anime forever on the map of American pop culture.

Robotech's sweeping saga spanned three generations, weaving together three separate actual Japanese anime series. The basic story premise is that the earth became forever changed when a mysterious alien battleship crashed on earth. The people of the world, now knowing that they are not alone, end all wars and unite to assimilate the advanced technology and prepare for the inevitable alien invasion that is sure to come. As the story unfolds mankind would go on to become embattled in an intergalactic struggle, battling three separate alien races over the next 60 years.

This volume chronicles the dramatic conclusion of the first season - The Macross Saga. In this collection we see the dramatic (and destructive) climax of the Zentraedi - Earth war and its fallout as well as the final resolution to the lov
