1-0 out of 5 stars Expert Weapon
I was very disappointed with Expert Weapon.Sam Jones was great in Flash Gordon but in this movie well i think he should have left it alone. The acting and fighting scenes were so stupidly made,it was like as if a actor was standing there waiting to be hit. This is the type of film that reminded me of the early '80's low and cheap. Please do not waste your money on a low budget film like this.Rent it or look for a diffrent type of action film.

3-0 out of 5 stars piranha's in the wild
basically this movie is a one hour documentary that looks like one of those shows you would see on the discovery channel or maybe in high school biology class. its not bad, but its not great. nothing suprised me in it. its scenes of the jungle while a narrator says something every few moments or so. if you think this video is something out of a horror film where the piranhas kill everything in sight then you will be disappointed. they only eat a catfish alive, everything else is already dead. if you own piranhas, like me, and can appreciate them, then buy this video. but if your just a regular person and want to see piranhas kill things then i wouldn't. the finish it up, this slow pace film is average and i think the producers got most of the footage by recording clips off the learning channel or maybe even animal planet with the crocodile hunter.

3-0 out of 5 stars Big Budget film does so-so on the Asian Market.
This film was originally going to be the sequel to Jackie Chan's blockbuster hit "Young Master" and carry the title "Young Master in Love", however, during the making of this film the plot changed from having connection to the original so the title "Dragon Lord" was given. This film was given the title Dragon Strike though because it is the English dubbed version. Jackie has many scenes, which actually included no gung fu at all and were taking place inside a sports arena. Some 50-200 shots were taken on a hackiack scene! Jackie ends up accidentally finding a gangs secret hideout and discovers a smuggling plot to illegally export Chinese artifacts. This film does have a few good fight scenes and is the first of his modern Hong Kong films. It also stars the famous Yuen Biao, which is a happy side note. Not a bad film for the martial arts/Hong Kong film viewer. Also a good pick for Chan fans. All together, Dragon Strike is a film worth owning.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dragon Lord : Don't be confused, This is a good film.
Dragon Lord is the first good Jackie Chan film. All the elements of a classic Jackie Chan film came together in this film for the first time: 1) The well-trained but clumsy underdog hero whose adolescent tendencies get him into big trouble. 2) The use of almost cartoonish humor, blended with spectacular, sometimes death defying stunt work 3)sometimes brutal hand to hand fights with a bare minimum of bone breaking sound effects or blood.

This was only the second film Jackie directed. His first was Young Master and that film established Jackie as the martial arts Buster Keaton. However that film could not break out of the utterly formulaic restrictions the martial arts film and producers insisted upon.

Dragon Lord does change the formula and drastically. It also was not a box office success in Hong Kong and Jackie would work with his friends and Sammo (and fufill his contractual obligation to appear in the dreadful Cannonball Run 2 in 1983) before directing his first full-fledged Chan-masterpiece Project A in 1984. Dragon Lord was originally conceived as a sequel to Young Master, to be called Young Master in Love. But continuity did not allow the film to be an official sequel. It was first released (barely) to the U.S. as The Dragon Strikes in 1982. At this point in his career, Jackie knew he was not going to follow in the footsteps and be the new Bruce Lee for producer director Lo Wei. He had other things in mind and almost got what he was after with Dragon Lord.

For nearly the entire first hour of Dragon Lord , Dragon (Chan) and his best friend Cowboy (Mars) vie for the attentions of a young woman who's name we later learn is Sexxy. We are treated to an incredible display of stunt work in a opening title sequence of a Football game (not soccer) , Chinese Style. Forget about protective gear or the refs calling anyone for unnecessary roughness. 90 stunt people received minor injuries and Jackie hurt his chin so bad he was in pain when he tried to talk .

Later Cowboy and Dragon run into a field of tall grass after a pheasant and meet a desperate man trying to hide from some thugs. The thugs start to rough up Cowboy and Dragon but realize they are just kids and not connected to the man they want.

Dragon, sneaks out of his house and gets away from his studies to try and meet the young woman of his dreams but runs into his best friend and rival Cowboy. Cowboy seems to take the upper hand with a dirty trick performed in front of Dragon's father. But Dragon gets another opportunity and he has a plan. The plan involves staging an attack so that supposedly Cowboy can be a hero, but instead it's Dragon that is about to become a hero. Tempers flare however and Cowboy and Dragon fight and it becomes clear the attack was staged. The girl is not impressed and Cowboy and Dragon get into trouble and stop being friends.

Eventually the two friends make up and compete in a Chinese shuttlecck match which is played like soccer only instead of a ball the players use a shuttlecck )without rackets keeping it off the ground and moving it around without using their hands). The nearly fifteen minute sequence involving the playing of this game is a highlight of physical dexterity and stunt work. Picture the best hacky-sack players you have ever seen , now add non-stop acrobatics to the mix. Wow.

Next Dragon tries to send a note to the girl Sexxy. The kite carrying the note blows in the wrong direction and Dragon goes to retrieve it. He finds himself on a roof top and there is a top secret illegal smuggling operation going on below him. Men with spears try to get him and they almost succeed. Smugglers are stealing Ming Vases to ship out of the country illegally.

Dragon's father gives Dragon a test on his studies, and in another comic slapstick sequence Dragon manages to cheat himself through his father's examination.

This eventually all leads to a show-down with the thugs and smugglers for Cowboy and Dragon and the incredible 20 minute fight sequence finale of the film. A fight sequence which is full of all of the best of Jackie's trademark moves and humor, with only the barest minimum of any wire work or trickery. It's pure Jackie acrobatics for 20 minutes straight and a must see for all Jackie fans. He would re-stage and upgrade the fight slightly (with different characters) to end the Hong Kong film version of The Protector (the American version of this film with Danny Aielo is to be avoided except for the curious to compare it to the superior Hong Kong version of the film which Jackie re-edited and directed additional martial arts sequences for -including a new ending).

Dragon Lord doesn't represent Jackie's finest (look to Drunken Master 2 aka Legend of the Drunken Master and Project A part 2 for that). The first hour of the film feels too light and episodic. The use of music punctuates sequences in much the same way cartoon music is used. The sports sequences are knock-outs but they feel disconnected from the narrative of the film. It isn't until the final 40 minutes the film seems to come together when it generates a little bit of suspense and then delivers the knock out final fight sequence. Chan's direction and choreography though a bit repetitious after a while is impressive.

If you like Jackie Chan at all, put this one on your must see list and if your thinking maybe you'll buy it.. it's worth having!

3-0 out of 5 stars Uneven, but still entertaining
Dragon Lord is an interesting early directorial attempt by a very young Jackie Chan. It bounces back and forth between some strange sports and an actual story involving friends and girl chasing. Some times it's good, sometimes it drags. For me, the sporting events went on too long, although the bun pyramid race was an interesting depiction of a Chinese custom. I really enjoyed the story on this one, because the friendship between Jackie and his freind "Cowboy" was very charming, and I enjoyed their boyish pranks trying to woo a girl away from each other. The bigger plot is similar to "Drunken Master 2", with theives plotting to smuggle precious artifacts out of China -- a subject Jackie obviously feels strongly about, since it occurs again in "Rush Hour". It has a couple of exciting fights, and lots of athletic clowning which I enjoyed just as much as the fights.

2-0 out of 5 stars Oops, wong movie!
To be honest, I haven't seen this film, but the very helpful review below is of the wrong movie! The reviewer below is referring to Dragon Fist, not Dragon Lord. They are two different movies!

3-0 out of 5 stars Light on the Action, but Excellent Stunts!
My jaw dropped when I watched the Chinese hackey sack game. You'll cringe at the beginning of the movie as Jackie falls fromt the top of a human tower! OUCH! But the fight scenes were pretty lame and there wasn't a very good villain either. If you want a movie with a good villain and great action, get Young Master. ... Read more

In the first PrimeSuspect, Helen Mirren's ballsy woman Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennyson battled the boys club and their sexist barbs to prove herself in a chauvinist department. In Prime Suspect 2, she's assigned to head a racially charged murder investigation in a largely African/Caribbean neighborhood. It's politics as usual in theimage-conscious organization, so the superintendent adds to the team black Detective Robert Oswalde (Colin Salma), a sharp but hot-headed investigator who has just broken off an affair with Tennyson. Now Tennyson grapples with her own conflicted feelings while fighting political and public-relations battles both in the media and within the police system itself in the midst of investigating the labyrinthine case. Between the scant clues left to sift, a prime suspect on the verge of death himself, and divisions in her own team that result in a devastating death, Tennyson soon begins to suspect she's been hung out to dry by the department. Screenwriter Allan Cubitt dives into the murky waters of volatile racial and social relations to create an even more complex and compelling mystery in Tennyson's second appearance, and Mirren rises to the challenge to explore the contradictions of an uncompromising cop in a compromising position. --Sean Axmaker ... 5-0 out of 5 stars New DVD got rid of overdubbing and disk-flipping
I concur with other reviewers' high opinions of the artistic quality of this DVD, except for a minor quibble: I can't buy the biracial affair with a Detective Sergeant. (And in a later Episode, Mirren's character gets pregnant, likewise in a work-related situation, by a married consultant, father of four kids, who lives 6000 miles away.)

Jane Tennison is a hard-nosed and coolly logical Detective Chief Inspector who knows that the good ole boys, including a few big shots, are lurking in wait for an uppity woman like her to slip up. How many Caucasian female Lieutenant Colonels in our armed forces get mixed up with African Sergeants or married fathers, especially if they work or consult with the men regularly? (How many would keep their jobs if they did?) However Jane's passions might burn and seethe beneath that calm exterior, she would be unlikely to slake them at work, especially with these guys, and most especially without tending to birth control. She's savvy enough to graze more cautiously on some of the many safer possibilities in London. However, this is not worth deducting a star. Besides, as one writer got rich pointing out, smart women do sometimes make foolish choices. A few smart women might even cite me as proof of this.

I am happy to report that the new DVD version has the naughty words intact and does not need to be flipped. The audio and especially the video are still below the quality one should expect for something produced so recently, although not too distractingly so. Some stuff from the 70's is technologically better, though.

This is a great detective series with a unique point of view, generally quite believable except for the odd minor quibble as set out above. I have bought all available episodes. It does owe a bit to Morse (what a marriage that would have made!), but who cares? Miss Marple might not approve, but the jungle where Mirren's tigress prowls is hardly St. Mary Mead.

5-0 out of 5 stars I liked PS2 more than the first one
Very interesting (starting at 15 min. mark), VERY well acted, very satisfying police drama/thriller. The quality of DVD isn't great but seems better than VHS. Run time about 3 hours, not 230 min as stated.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great series, great acting, great writing
Superb series, well written. Helen Mirren is a miracle.

At last, the whole series has been reissued on DVD. Worth the investment...unlike most TV shows on DVD (hello, HBO and Fox?)

Beware of the old DVDs floating around from the original PBS presentations in the early 1990s. Strong language was dubbed over, rather poorly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Absorbing Police Drama/Character Study from England
Helen Mirren returns in the second go-round of "Prime Suspect". The story is a superb "who dunnit" with outstanding writing and acting all the way around. In addition to being a great crime solving drama, "Prime Suspect 2" succeeds as a character study of a middle-aged, professional woman who has sacrificed much of her personal life to rise among the ranks of the police force.

The rating gets only 4 stars rather than 5 for Anchor Bay's DVD treatment. Normally they have done a great job with their releases, but "Prime Suspect 2" is, unfortuantely, not among their best. I'm not sure about the source material that was available to them, but the picture doesn't appear to be as crisp as one would expect from a DVD, particularly for material that was produced in 1993. You must also flip the disk over . . . it's presented in two parts, just as it was released on PBS in America. This release also replaces some minor profanity with toned-down language. Save for 20 chapter breaks (10 on each side) and English subtitles, there are no extras on this DVD. Still, the story and characterizations merit a view.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best in the series
This is by far the best installment of the Prime Suspect series. It stars Helen Mirren as Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison, who has to solve a grisly murder. She has a limited amount of time to solve it and does it amidst accusations of racism within the police department and disapproval from her colleagues for flimsy political reasons. This wonderful film is able to hold the viewers' attention the entire time it's on the screen. It also stars the talented and handsome Colin Salmon as her former lover and current colleague. This is a highly recommended film to purchase. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A tour de force!
Why haven't this film been praised in America? It is one of the best films I have ever seen! I know that most people don't like watching foreign films with English subtitles, which is why they miss out on great stories and actors.

La Femme Nikita is the story of a street-smart woman (played by Anne Parillaud) who is kidnapped and trained to become a professional assassin. She has to give up her identity and become the big Government secret. The film has a lot of interesting action scenes -- enough to satisfy the James Bondesque film era. The difference, of course, is that we get to watch a great heroine in action for a change. Also, you will enjoy the strong Pygmalion theme in the film.

I know of people who have seen The Point of No Return (the American version of this film) with Bridget Fonda and the USA Network series based on this film, but the original is always the best. Give this amazing French film a whirl and embark on the experience of great foreign films.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very different French Foreign Legionnaire
Nikita (Anne Parillaud) is a drug-addicted street urchin who commits murder during a robbery attempt. She is convicted, imprisoned, and executed by lethal injection. Nikita awakens in a Government facility, learns that her family attended her burial, and learns that she has a choice -- become a (disposable) Government agent/assassin or die. Nikita reluctantly chooses life. Nikita is trained in weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, and charm. Nikita accepts all of her training with apathy and disdain, but Nikita survives her training and becomes a Government agent/assassin. And Nikita's missions continuously tear her life apart ...

French director Luc Besson's film "La Femme Nikita" is the basis for the American remake "Point of No Return" starring Bridget Fonda, and also for the "La Femme Nikita" television series. Luc Besson's version is *superior*. Anne Parillaud grows throughout her transformation from hostile street urchin to reluctant Government agent/assassin, combining toughness with *fragile femininity*. Jean-Hugues Anglade plays Nikita's friend Marco who loves and emotionally supports his woman of mystery. Jean Reno ("The Professional") plays 'The Cleaner', the assassin who arrives when one of Nikita's missions goes horribly wrong.

Eric Serra's wonderful jazz score, the European setting, the flowing French dialogue, and Anne Parillaud's tough but fragile femininity combine to make "La Femme Nikita" a memorable film.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nikita
After a bloody shootout at a pharmacy where all of her gang memeber friends are killed, Nikita (Parillaud), high on drugs, kills a policeman in cold blood and is captured and judged for the murder. However, instead of the gas chamber, she gets recruited to a top secret government agency to be trained as an agent.

At first, she's confused with the situation, but soon enough she's back to normal, not caring for anything around her and acting like the social misfit she is. All the while there's Bob (Karyo), the agent assigned to her case. He treats Nikita like he couldn't care less for her, yet finds her rather amusing and interesting. Even when his superior tells him that she'll never make it, he insists that she has the stuff to be a good agent.

After a while, Nikita comes around and accepts her fate. She continues her training up to the point that three years pass. She's now ready to go back to the real world and Bob chooses her birthday to take her out to a restaurant on what turns out to be more of a mission than a date.

Once outside, Nikita meets Marco (Anglade), who works as a cashier at a supermarket. They fall in love and move together, but their happiness is continuosly interrupted by Bob and the missions he sends Nikita on.

Will Nikita be able to balance her double life? Will Marco figure the whole thing out?

Besson threads an interesting story using well developed characters (the movie revolves around these three characters basically) and interesting set ups for Nikita's missions. The action scenes are well crafted and the acting is really good.

There's a brief appearance by Jean Reno (The Crimson Rivers, León) as another hit man.

This film was the basis for the Peta Wilson TV series and also for an American remake starring Bridget Fonda.

4-0 out of 5 stars Riveting Action
Director Luc Besson gets it. Besson, a Frenchman no less, understands what separates a juvenile, mindless action movie from a truly smart, devilishly suspensful cinema experience. Using a clever hybrid of European sensuality and sophistication, along with American notions of wild gunplay and bloodshed, Besson weaves an absorbing tale of murder and betrayal. His characters are chilling and relatively simple, while the world they inhabit is explicitly cosmopolitan in its cross Atlantic treachery. Besson sees the tools this setting offers and pushes them to the figurative hilt.

The intriguing story centers around Nikita, a lithe and skillful street urchin played by the violently harried Anne Parillaud. An urban nomad, Nikita is picked up by the mysterious Rico, a role assumed by the ashen faced operator Marc Duret. Rico's motives are unclear at first, but it soon becomes clear that he is not some agent of charity, he is dedicated to molding Nikitas mind in a certain, deadly way. Using her own isolation and his own psychological tricks, Rico, with the help of others in the "group", Rico begins to train Nikita in the arts of death and stealthy assassination. Benefitting a shadowy branch of the French government, Nikita will become an undercover killing machine, moving in and out of various international locales and dispatching her targets ruthlessly. Along the way, Rico must break her spirit, an extremely difficult task, and then rebuild her, teaching her the suave arts of high society and the brute tactics of international murder.

Although Nikita resists, she soon gains a reliance on her new teachers, especially Rico, who has a feeling about her. His support is rewarded as Nikita takes to the field for the first time, and the audience is treated to a ripping good action scene. Nikita assumes a somewhat normal life, striking up a relationship, living a life unknown to her. Of course, as she gallavants around the continent, she is forced to pull off daunting and extreme hits, which are portrayed lovingly by Besson. The strange connection between Nikita and Rico begin to strain as Nikita feels the emotional considerable stress of living two lives at once. Her position becomes more untenable as she becomes wrapped up into a violent spiral of severely unethical murder, including the murderously adriot personage of Jean Reno, who wields his 9mm like some kind of quasi-mythical broadsword. His extreme mission and its repercussions soon toss Nikita into a very dangerous position, and theres only one way out. You guessed it, shooting.

La Femme Nikita is one of those movies that just never stops impressing the viewer with its sheer audacity. The spirit it conveys, one of shady slaughter and grand stage is just mesmerizing, and the simple but layered characters bring their own murderious tint to the whole spectacle. A great example of what a smart action movie can be.

5-0 out of 5 stars sensitive and dangerous
Sensitive, sophisticated, violent, and exquisite are some of the adjectives that could best describe this tour de force movie by Luc Besson. Unlike most action movies which depend on high body counts and explosives, this movie moves carefully forward as Nikita is transformed from a drug using criminial to a controlled killer. Besides the story, I especially enjoyed the view of french culture. Parisian restaurants, apartments, and gritty streets are beautifully filmed by Besson. Most importantly, the movie contains a female lead character which contrasts Hollywood's obsession with testosterone filled actors who can never enunciate their words. Nikita is played brilliantly. In fact, Nikita hardly speaks throughout the film, yet the viewer can still observe her true character. In my opinion that is an example of brilliant film making. Do yourself a favor and buy this DVD. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars brad lake is the man
what a movie.....the acting is terrible the women are very unattractive apart from tammy parks and the plot and story line is awful, thats why i loved it. I watched the movie for the first time and laughed my head off, especially at the large fonts brad lake uses to seduce the women on line. The acting is so funny especially when he is having sex with that blonde girl and his wife is down stairs and he goes shhhhhhhhh...I mean it makes me wonder why he cheated on his wife she is the only decent looking woman on the film.Anyways if you like cheesy movies then please buy this you wont regret it itll be an instant classic and youll be quoting lines from the film till the day you die such as, "good game" or "your hotter than the fire baby" or "i wouldnt mind her serving my balls" or "there was this chick in vegas named julie she was the girlfriend of the mobster veto popadompali he practically owned the strip it was tough game messing with one of vetos girls but julie just wasnt any chick she just turned veto and his boys to the da got em a state sentence put him and his boys in the slammer and speaking of slammer thats just what i wanted to do to julie," ahhhhhh priceless

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
As erotic movie goes, this is got to be one of the best I ever seen. I mean the plot is average at best, the wife got murdered by the sister to get the husband into bed is a bit daft. but no one watches these films for the STORY don't they. they watch it because of the erotic quailty of the film, and there are plenty of nudity scene than 10 other film in the soft eroctica genre put together. from start to finish, women can't seems to take their cloths off, GREAT I say.

5-0 out of 5 stars Damn
Julie Strain and the sex goddesses in this flick will wet your willy, boys. This is gratuitous sex in it's soft-core entirety.
Julie's scene is so hot... she sucks her finger like it's something else and her boobs... yeah. You'll see.
Really convincing for simulated sex.
Good stuff, the best for the genre.

1-0 out of 5 stars horrible

I have watched this movie many times, and it always give me a light headed feeling as all the blood rushes south in my body!!

The incredulity of the plot is only exceeded by the ineptness of the acting. Stay away from this one. Terrible. The only redeeming feature: the daughter's name in the movie is Carrie. 1-0 out of 5 stars What a waste of time!!
This movie was ridiculous. I was hoping maybe it would have a good story line, butI could tell from the very first scene that it was gonna be whack and I was right. If you decide to have a day of watching the worst movies of all time, be sure to include this one! Too bad I couldn't give it half a star, it didn't really deserve that.

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst movies of all time
Bokeem Woodbine did good work in "THE BIG HIT", "DEAD PRESIDENTS" & "GRIDLOCK'D" but after them he has only done crap, besides his movie "NEW BREED" these is his worst...

It's actually one of the worst movies of all time, and who was the guy who named it BLACK MALE? Bokeem's race has nuthin to do with the movie, and the big role is played buy an unknown British actor who's about as good as Steven Segal at acting...

Lousy script, everything sucks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny
This movie is entertaining, period. The joke is on you when you begin to take the movie seriously. pretty soon you realize that the villan is a crack smoking serial killer with a disposition and voice of an English Prince.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
Okay, If you watch this movie expecting to see some amazingly deep, oscar worthy movie, you're going to be disappointed. If you're easily offended (or disgusted) then you're not gonna be happy with this movie. For the rest of us (who enjoy a lil t&a and hilarious "i-got-my-thumb-cut-off" scenes), this movie's great. Perhaps i think it's so amazing because of my deep and profound love for Justin Pierce (1975 - 2000 R.I.P) aka Luther. I dunno. I liked it though. I thought it was absolutely hilarious, although at times it was kinda disgusting.

Click the back button on your browser right now. This film is the culmination of everything that is soul-less and unholy. I feel dirty having to give this film a single star, but i feel that by warning the rest of you to not view this film, the means is justified.

If you haven't already clicked the back button, allow me to explain why this film is an utter waste of your time. We'll break it down into 3 simple parts; Story, Scripting, and Directing.

First the story is awful. Imagine six guys get together at a summer bbq and after hours of heavy drinking decide "hey, lets write a movie". They decide to, instead of colaborating during the writing process, each write a small part alone and then combine the six pieces together into one project. Oh thats not how it was written? Well you could have fooled me. The story is as exciting as Stephen Hawking delivering the State of the Union address and, as an added bonus, the scenes go from bad to worse faster than a donkey eating a waffle. This is not only due to the lack of realism but also the fact that my three year old cousin could write better dialogue.

They must have been really sauced when they wrote the script for this one. The film lacks character development and the relationships are no where near as deep as the hole this film has burned into my soul.

I hope directors George and Mike Baluzy don't go putting this one on their resumes. I'd hate for them to be screened out for WalMart sales associate of the year, or maybe I wouldn't. I think they were both absent from class the day the "Cutting Room" was discussed. The truth of the matter is I could make a better film with $100, 3 washers, a quart of kerosene in a squeeze bottle, and waterproof matches.

The acting is just awful. And that's really all I can say about that. (Just thinking about it makes me want to boot all over myself)

I think that everyone who has seen this film, besides 'A Viewer From NY NY', should get together a class action lawsuit because this was 90 minutes of our lives we'll never get back.

So, unless you're a sadist, don't make the same mistake I did. Click your back button while there is still time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad!
Eight misfit criminals unite to simultaneous steal from various targets in the city. Of course it all goes bad, predictable but still fun and entertaining. There's a lot of gunfire, explosions, tough-guys and a gal, and some humor thrown in. It translates to a very good action-thriller. Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, is as good as he was in Runway Train (he was nominated for an Academy Award for in 1985). At the end of this film you might be surprise who the real target is! It's worth your time, however it is only available in limited quantities, you'll have to order it and wait. But it's worth it. By the way, Chris Rock is true to form and he'll make you laugh! Rate R for strong language and violence.

4-0 out of 5 stars A action movie with a twist
A crafty nightclub owner (Jack) brings together a group of small time hoods and teams them up in unusual pairs (black man and white racist, Ivy Leaguer and simpleton) for a set of multiple heists which turn out to be an elaborate double cross against a notorious gangster (Domenic). The second half of the film is an extended standoff in the nightclub between Jack and his band of thieves and Domenic's henchman, during which the thieves discover why Jack brought them all together for what amounts to a suicidal mission.

I hate to give more than general info as I do not like to ruin the surprises for others. What I will tell you is that I found this film very interesting and liked the pairing of the two worst to work together and why. I also liked the reasons that the people were brought in on the deal. Over all this movie had some very well written twists and turns that make this movie more than just a B-movie.

The cast was also well put together, including, Eric Roberts, Tia Carrere, and Chris Rock.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must see
Great story, great plot, and good comedy. The Immortals is one of those movies that you will never see an equal to. ... Read more
