4-0 out of 5 stars Great Heart Pumping Workout!
This is a great workout. I was a little aprehensive being a "Get Ripped" Freak. I thought nothing could beat the advance workout of that, but I was wrong. This workout was better because it wasn't as long and there are a lot more intricate moves that targets more critical areas. Of course I enjoy Billy's encouraging words and the moves are more sharp and precise. I didn't sweat as much as I do with the "Get Ripped Advance" but my heart was pounding a mile a minute and I felt really "worked".

This is a great addition to anyone's workout collection. Once again Billy doesn't disappoint. Try it, you'll love it. I've lost 28 pounds eating a sensible diet and working out to Taebo every morning for 4 months along with going to the gym.

This workout truly brings results!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wow, is right, even his daughter Shellie is sweating
I have added Tae Bo to my work out and have really worked my way up from, just watching through many parts, to at least walking in place in some parts, to jogging while he did his leg kicks to now being able to get all the way through a 50 minute work out with out my heart coming out of my body. You will lose weight and inches and feel really great. This tape is a great addition to his normal insanity and his daughter Shellie is really hurtin' for certain so you know they are getting in a great workout along with you.As always Billy is the most encouraging coach on any tape I have, and I love his personal style. This is a must have for intermediate workouts and if you get the bands you will have a great advanced workout in your arsenal when you can't get to the gym or outside for that 5 mile run.I did only give it 4 stars cause as usual Billy sometimes does not tone evenly on each side, but this is really only a minor issue in a couple of places. If you have worked out with Billy before, you are already aware of this short coming of his tapes.

5-0 out of 5 stars wow. what a workout!
I did this workout and boy did I sweat. It is much better than all of the other tae bo tapes because of the billy bands. It is better than the ultimate Bootcamp dvd bacause there are no squat thrusts, or push ups; or abs; just all cardio! There are very few "walk it outs" Most of the exercises are double time.Get this one and enjoy a sweat fest.If you don't have the billy bands, go to Billyblanks website and order them. You won't be sorry. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Terrific Workout with Terrific Results
I love this tape. I got it about six months ago and have been doing it about twice a week and I couldn't be happier with the results. This tape will get your arms and legs in terrific shape (the ab program is a little too short for me, frankly) if you do it faithfully, and the tape is so enjoyable, that it's easy to do faithfully. As she points out in the video, building muscle helps you lose weight, and this video will help you reach your goal. As other reviewers have stated, she offers two tracks, complete with guidance as to who should do what when, and recommends beginning weights. Her direction is terrific and the tape really flows. She's energetic, without being overly peppy (as I find her in some other videos). Unlike a lot of other tapes, you don't waste time listening to instruction, you are working out for the entire 40 minutes. Kathy Smith has split the tape into two 20 minute workouts (upper and lower body) which is really helpful when you've got limited time to workout.

Bottom line, Kathy Smith has designed a terrific workout tape that is easy to stick with and will give you the results you want.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for all over body toning
This is my favorite video. In the past I have used Kathy's Functionally Fit-Lower Body Firming tape and found that to be very effective, but had to do other tapes for arms, abs, etc. This tape combines 3 complete workouts: 1 for your upper body and arms, 1 for your lower body, and 1 for your abs. Each exercise is just long enough so that you feel the burn, but don't have to quit early. The entire tape (all 3 workouts) takes just under an hour, but you can split it up if you feel like only working certain parts. The upper and lower body workouts also have 2 tracks - using heavier weights, or lighter weights and more repetitions which makes for a nice change of pace. Kathy whoops and yells a little more than in her other videos, but the workout is good enough that I just ignore it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Results!
This workout is great. I have been using it for over a year and I love the results. I have recommended it to friends and they love it too. I too was a lightweight- I began this workout using 2 and 3 lb weights. You have to gradually work up to heavier weights. I now use 8lbs for most of the exercises in the upper body workout. I love Kathy's style- I do not think she is annoying. She is just trying to keep you motivated! At least she is not fake like other instructors- she is herself. Take it or leave it. I would take it though- since she must be doing something right (just look at her). If you are a beginner, make sure you have your weights ready to go, because it will seem fast at the beginning. After a few times though, you will get the hang of it. Results don't come easily. It will hurt. Your arms will feel like wet noodles afterwards (will hurt to lift an apple), but that means it is working! Do not be intimidated if you are a beginner- trust me- I had never lifted a weight in my life until I began this video. I prefer using a weight bench (40 bucks for a decent one at walmart) because there are certain exercises that are difficult to get good form on without a bench. Remember progress takes time! I also LOVE her step aerobic workout tape called Fat Burning Breakthrough, which combines step aerobics with upper body weights. Whew! It will do a number on you!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced, It Works; Go Easy If You're a Beginner!
I exercise regularly, mainly Body Electric, Yoga, & Pilates. I wanted to "rev" up my workouts by adding aerobics (I'm waiting for K.S.'s aerobic tapes) & fat burning weight routines. In other words, I needed to "mix up" & add variety to my workouts. This tape really does it. While yes, she does go a bit fast, & there's intro that one will eventually skip, if one has the patience to "work into" the routine, you'll catch on, adjust the levels, and end up doing a fantastic workout that will keep your workouts fresh & have your muscles thanking you! I agree that a "bench" in not really needed for some routines, but this is a slickly produced product that gets the job done. Again, this is fast-paced & there really is not "warm up" involved. I would suggest a bit of stretching before "jumping" into the routine, or "warm up" during her intro. Also, as one becomes familiar with the routines, one can (and should) have all the necessary equiptment ready, because this routine goes quickly. Beginners, go easy & split the routines; die hards, do both routines in one session unless time is a problem. If that's the case, alternate routines & work to the max!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kathy smith- timesaver-lift weights to lose weight
I am in good shape but wanted a quick workout with weights to increase metabolism. I love this video. I use it daily. Upper one day and lower body the next. I am 34 and I use the exercise bike daily too. I have noticed firmer and more toned muscles and am excited about them finally showing up. I didn't enjoy Kathy's second volume. I went back to this one immeditately. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars i love this workout
i have several of the Firm on VHS, they are an excellent tape to get into aerobic weight training. i love the interval training concept as i do not have the attention span for workouts that its just all one thing repeated like say step. the interval part keeps me from quitting as i know i wont be doing say ABS or LUNGES for very long and its on to the next exercise. i bought this workout on DVD to spring myself into getting back into working out and its really helped me stay on track and found this an excellent fun workout i especially love the cardio kickboxing. i look forward to doing this workout and have recommendeed it to several friends who have asked me how i'm losing my weight as consistantly as i have been.. i'm VERY happy to say i see continuing results, at firsti took it easy and did some of this workout but over time i did add segments and still do not do the whole workout mostly cause i would like to be able to MOVE the next day. its an exceleent workout.. Emily is a wonderful instructor and would like to see more firm workouts taught by her. good luck to anybody starting an exercise plan!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Workout
I have been using the firm for 2 years and this is the absolute best video they have made. Emily makes the video fun and easy to follow. She switches from weights to cardio a few times and then to the arms and abs. It is a great one hour workout and I recommend this video to people who need that extra visible result they have been looking for, this one covers all the bases. Don't forget to purchase your firm fanny lifter and sculpting stick, you need 3, 5 and 8 pound dumb bells. The firm by far is a great program for me and I hope that you give any firm video a try because it's great for your heart and their cardio routines are fun, the fanny lifter makes you work your thighs and butt it's really a great system I actually recommend the whole program, hoping that it will work for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm a Firm fan
I have had this workout a few weeks and am really enjoying it. I mix it up with other Firm workouts among other things.

I do think the intensity level, especially for cardio, is quite a bit lower than some of the older Firm tapes. However, it is still challenging enough for me (an intermediate level aerobics person) to get up a good sweat.

I did get the Fanny Lifter as I think it adds a lot to the Firm workouts (although this workout only did one or two sets of step-ups with the Lifter). I don't think the sculpting stick is needed for this one. The twigs can be duplicated by using 16 oz. cans from the kitchen, and I think using the stick for balance actually lessens the intensity of some of the exercises.

As others have mentioned, I'm not sure I like the production of the newer Firm workouts as much. The workout participants seem even more smiley and plasticky and fake than usual. The main instructor on this workout, though, is very good. Cues are spot-on, and she is upbeat without being overly peppy.

I'd recommend this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another top-notch Firm workout
This is another effective Firm workout that is both challenging, fun, yet doesn't aggravate my bad back. My only beef with this workout is that the instructor, Emily, keeps saying "whoo" throughout the workout. Ease up on the fake-sounding enthusiasm. But the workout itself is great. I definitely recommend the Fanny Lifter with all these new tapes. This tape doesn't rely on the Sculpting stick too much so you could get away without it and not lose much effect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Work wonders
The only thing that this workout needs when you are doing it is some good company to exercise along with you, otherwise from that, this is one killer workout.
I was considering spending some money that i didn't have and going to the gym, but a friend of mine loan me this dvd and i am hooked, i am sticking to the 10 day regime and see what happens. Right now i am on day five and i have seen results. This is one dvd i WILL recommend. i am about to buy another one or two of The Firm and let you guys know about it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Maritza is Calgon for the Soul
As a newbie to yoga/meditation I thought buying this DVD would be a great place to begin my journey. Well, I was right.

I purchased this DVD three weeks ago and have been using at least one of it's programs every night since then.

The first program is a beginning yoga session lasting 15-20 minutes. I'm not very flexible but the stretches aren't overly difficult (except for downward dog... argh!). My only issue is that Maritza moves along pretty quickly and doesn't hold the stretches for more than a few seconds.

The second program is a body scan meditation lasting 15-20 minutes. This meditation is very relaxing and you have to focus or you will fall asleep. Martiza's soothing voice can calm a wild beast in a heartbeat. This meditation is very relaxing and can be used before bedtime to great benefit.

The third and final program is a seated meditation lasting 15-20 minutes and is my favorite. Maritza shares her insight from 20 years of meditation with master teachers and instructs the viewer as if it was her first time in class. I'm still trying to quiet my mind for longer than a few seconds but with practice and dedication Maritza's words have put me on the right path.

I'm strongly recommending this DVD to those even remotely interested in yoga or meditation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and relaxing
I have looked at several meditation CDs, but this DVD is the best so far -- Maritza has a soothing voice and what she says makes sense. She helps you get deeper into the experience rather than distracting from it, and there is very little of what I'd call the "fluff" that sometimes comes along with meditation guides. My only regret is that this doesn't come as a CD as well, so that I could use it away from the TV. The pictures are lovely, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Every home should have one :-)
I will rate this with 5 stars.. After walking out of work one day because I just couldnt take any more of the office politics, and my partner being pushed to his limits by my always negative attitude I realised that it was time to do something about my stress levels.

I did a bit of a search here and found this DVD - it was brilliant, even after the first run through I found it did so much for me. All of a sudden I was starting to see a little bit of light through the thick mud. A friend of mine had recommended meditation and the scientific magazine that I read had noted that meditation does the equivalent for the brain as going to the gym does for your body - it keeps it fit, but I didnt think it would be this good!

So total thumbs up to the creators and now, after purchasing the Gaiam AM/PM meditations DVD a week or so ago as well and the AM/PM Yoga Meditations CD.. I am set. My days are much nicer and I look forward to them more. Thanks Gaiam for helping me find that happy life again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good program
I recently purchased this dvd, and another meditation dvd from Yoga Zone. This dvd is superior in every aspect. The instructor, Maritza has a strong accent, but you will find that her instructions are very clear, very focused, and very helpful. The dvd is divided into three parts. The first part is a gentle easy yoga stretch session; the second session is a body scan-meditation segment; and the third is a seated meditation segment. The photography (all done in Hawaii) is gorgeous and very well done. In addition, the dvd has a menu which allows you to pick the different segments you want to try, an introduction, a "personal trainer" option which allows you to switch to a separate segment showing you how to do a particular movement, and an interview.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Program!
I'm a high-stress guy, which is probably why I received this DVD as an early Christmas present. I took one look at the cover and cringed, but I'll be the first to admit that I could use a lifestyle change. Soo...

I started using the DVD on a daily basis about two weeks ago, and it has begun to have a very real effect on the quality of my life. I spend about 40 minutes in the morning before I start my work-day with the DVD. The first 15 or so minutes are spent loosing up the body with a number of light yoga stretches, and then I use the first of two meditation programs which is called a "body scan". It's a meditation program that really puts you into a state of deep relaxation. It doesn't make you sleepy (though it might if you performed it in the evening), on the contrary, I always feel rejuvenated by the end of the routine.

I haven't moved to the second program yet, but I plan to next week. It's a seated meditation program that is meant to help you refresh and focus your mind. I honestly can't wait to get started!

This DVD took me by surprise. Do yourself a favor and buy it. Even if you don't get anything out of the meditation program itself, the production of the DVD is outstanding. It's like a trip to Hawaii. A very, very, relaxing trip to Hawaii. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful program, beautiful scenery!
I have had this DVD for only a few days now, and my body already feels more healthy! I originally bought the DVD because I suffer from insomnia and I thought that a PM stretching routine might help me fall asleep. It has helped a lot! I have been doing the "PM Stretch" just before going to bed. It makes me feel very relaxed both physically and mentally, and I have been able to fall asleep easily afterwards. The music is very soothing and the background setting is gorgeous! As an added bonus, I've also discovered that the "AM Stretch" is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. I do it first thing as soon as I get out of bed and it really helps me wake up and seize the day. The AM music and mountain setting are invigorating. The instructions for both AM & PM stretches are given in a clear, easy to understand way, and the stretches are easy for even a beginner such as myself to do. I also find it helpful that throughout the programs you are gently reminded to check your posture, breathing, and muscle tension. Each program is only about 30 minutes long, so it's easy to make the time in your day to do them. I highly recommend this video to anyone who is looking for a good stretching program!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
I have tried other stretch videos but this one is really the best. I actually look forward to doing this routine every morning and evening. The bonus workout is excellent. All three workouts stretch your body while energising it. I even feel like my muscle tone has increased!

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential to my well being
I am an active woman of 62 and stretching is vital in keeping my body able to do each activity I ask of it. The "a.m. & p.m. stretch" DVD of Madeleine Lewis has made this necessary stretching a pleasure. Her wonderfully soothing voice, her flowing movements, her obvious knowledge of the body encourages me never to miss my morning & evening routines. I feel no important muscle has been neglected and I feel confident that Madeleine is helping me do a really good thing for myself. I especially appreciate her gentle reminders to breathe, check my posture, and persevere. The beauty of the mountains surrounding her is a wonderful bonus and instills feelings of peace and tranquility that I take with me into my busy day. Nature is very important to me so I truly look forward to the visual aspect of this DVD. I'm looking forward to more of this kind of work from Madeleine Lewis. Thank you GAIAM and especially thank you, Madeleine!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best 25 minutes of the whole day!
This is definitely one of the most effective stretching videos I've ever used. It moves very quickly, but doesn't seem rushed. With 4 kids, I rarely get more than 25 minutes to myself, so I need something that provides a good head-to-toe stretch in a minimum amount of time.

The scenery is fantastic--especially the bright mountaintop sunrise for the a.m. program. Madeline Lewis is pleasant and very "down to earth" (no new age "yoga speak").

My only criticism (and not enough to give it less than 5 stars): There are one or two postures in each program that are uncomfortable if you have low back pain. I've practiced yoga long enough to know how to modify them, but instructions either aren't given or they aren't given until you're already in the posture.

This is a great program for all levels--easy enough for most beginners, but still worthwhile for those who are already pretty active.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
This is a great DVD. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the stretches are relaxing and invigorating at the same time. The instructor does an excellent job reminding you to keep proper form and proper breathing. I am an advanced exerciser and found that this DVD was a great addition to my routine. I really felt like the lower back, hamstrings, and the entire upper body were opened up and stretched. You even stretch the wrists in the PM Stretch, which is often a neglected part of the body. Very basic, but very effective. Beginners to advanced exercisers would benefit from using the DVD. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Effective Total Body Workout
SUPER FUN CARDIO FAT BURNER! I just don't understand the hostile reviews to this video. It's tough-going if you are not as advanced in aerobics as weights. Yet the moves are easy to follow and executed in three progressively harder levels, so who cares that she cues on the move rather than four counts before. Bottom line is that this workout is effective and it covers almost everything. Denise works biceps, triceps, lats, chest, and delts, does lunges and squaqts for the legs, includes lots of planks, pushups and a few yoga moves to work the core and then cool down, and ultimately, leads you through a variety of sports-conditioning circuits that really gets the heart rate up.
I don't mind that the strength intervals are rather weak because I consider this a cardio workout. The choreography is basic and athletic with some high impact moves. If you find them high impact, then you can just easily modify. I do this video along with strength training or pilates/yoga for a complete workout.

5-0 out of 5 stars I know people think Denise Austin is cheesy but...........
her workouts are awesome. I got the DVD yesterday and used it last night. The workout was very intense. I was looking for something different to do besides the same old, same old. And this DVD definately took me to a new level. It's 45 minutes but the time flies because it's broken up into circuits. It has a mixture of kickboxing, plyometrics, basketball drills, weight training, etc with a cool down/stretch consisting of yoga moves. I felt very refreshed afterwards and feel pretty good today. As I said people do think Denise is cheesy but if you stick with her workouts you will see results. I also would recommend her Fat Burning Yoga DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I have tried MANY workout DVD's and found this to be one of the best. I really like Denise and she knows how to make you work. This DVD switches between cardio and weight lifting intervals. You will see the most results this way and you will definitely sweat during this video. It requires that you have a step and some hand weights for the workout. This is a top DVD, easy to follow and is effective. Everything you could want from a workout DVD.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I have a few of Denise's DVDs, but this one is the toughest by far! It is fast-paced and challenging, but I watched it all the way through first and was able to keep up pretty well by staying at level 1 or 2 during some of the moves. Not for the beginner, but I felt great at the end of the workout! I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to try something new and fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Makes you Sweat
For those of you who are familiar with Denise Austin, you'll LOVE this workout! For those of you who are not familiar, I recommend watching the video first to familiarize yourself with Denise's style and fast pace. She gives a great workout, focusing on both cardio and strength training. I am in pretty good shape, but was huffing and puffing 1/3 of the way through! It's a great workout, easy to do in your home. All you need is a step and some 2-3 pound weights. It would STILL be a great workout without the step or weights though! Denise is fast and changes moves quickly without a lot of advance notice. But after a few workouts, you'll catch on. This is a fun, fast-paced workout guaranteed to make you sweat! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Natural Connection between Surfing and Yoga
"Yoga is accessible to anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Yoga isn't just about flexibility - it's about awareness, about being fully alive in each moment." -Peggy Hall

Top professional surfers swear by yoga and now see the infinite sea of possibilities in taking up yoga in addition to their favorite sport: surfing. They rely on the advice of instructors like Peggy Hall who writes articles for "Surf Life for Women."

In the Fall 2002 issue, she introduces some of the poses she has incorporated into her new workout video. She is an avid surfer and certified yoga instructor.

Peggy created the "Yoga for Surfers" video series and teaches yoga clinics and private classes. This is a unique workout because it is especially designed for surfers and their specific needs. Expert yoga instruction is interspersed with surf footage.

"Every surfer should discover Yoga." -Rochelle Ballard ("Blue Crush" stunt surfer)

"Yoga changed my surfing - and my life." -Taylor Knox (a noted big-wave charger admired for his powerful, fluid surfing style)

The Setting: Filmed at Ballard and Knox's favorite surf breaks on the North Shore in Carlsbad, California.

The Level: Beginner to Intermediate

The Poses: Classic yoga with a few very creative twists I hadn't seen before. Intriguing. I really loved the poses and the pace.

The Results: Injury prevention, increased strength, flexibility and focus. Helps you to avoid chronic pain and has specific moves that will sharpen your mental focus.

I loved the soundtrack, which is pleasant and calming.

Volume I has three sections:

Pre-Surf Session: Flexibility and Focus

You can use this routine to warm-up before surfing. It is an energizing routine that flows from one pose to the next and can be done at the beach. At home, a "sticky" yoga mat and a towel is recommended. This section of the workout will help you avoid injury, ease neck, shoulder, or back pain and sharpen your mental focus.

Water Session: Energy and Confidence

These are simple moves you can do while on a surfboard out in the water between sets. They can also be done at home while seated as most of the poses are for the upper body. It is fun to do the poses in your living room with the aid of the "top of a step" between
two chairs (so adventurous). There is a segment where you should really be sitting or on a surf board and it was not difficult to incorporate most of the poses into an at-home workout. If you live at the beach and can see your TV from the sand, then
you have it made.

Post-Surf Session: Stretching and Rejuvenation.

This is my favorite section. It is just so relaxing and you could do this section after a long
day because it helps to calm your mind and rejuvenate your body.

Yoga will also enhance other areas of your life and make you feel more in control of your inner world. This video has been very well received in surfing and yoga circles.

Highly Recommended because this workout not only gives you a great workout, it will help you to find a deep sense of well-being and increase your energy level.

A workout lifestyle to give you the flexibility to surf better, longer.

Also look for Volume II: Fluid Power Yoga for Surfers which is a 40-minute routine to strengthen and stretch all your surfing muscles while improving stamina, balance and mental focus.

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible yoga journey by the beach
I just partook of this incredible yoga journey by the beach with beautiful music and I am thoroughly STOKED at how well it was all put together! The postures and the stretches are great and perfect for us surfers. I especially liked seeing all the awesome surfing while I was doing yoga...this is by far the best yoga video ever done!!

This will definitely help my body now that I'm 45 and have been surfing for 39 years!

3-0 out of 5 stars OK, but a little short...
I like the DVD, but it has a long "water session" of poses to do on your board in between sets that really isn't that useful (unless you plan to paddle out with your TV). Take out that section, and you're left with two 10 minute sessions that are OK, but not supurb. For a better workout, I recommend volume 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for surfers and non surfers.
I simply LOVE this DVD!

The pace is perfect, the music is perfect, plus there is surf footage! What else could you ask for?

The stretches hit all the right places and the transition from pose to pose is fluid. Peggy Hall's instructions are very easy to follow and I love her tone of voice. It is incredibly refreshing and upbeat compared to the mysterious tone most videos try to achieve. It truly makes an already fabulous video even better.

This video is exactly what I need to keep me in shape during the long flatness that is a Florida summer.

Regardless I HIGHLY recomment this video for surfers and non-surfers.

4-0 out of 5 stars just awesome
I hate excercise dvds, yoga dvds, and instructional videos. I do Yoga for Surfers every night. Its really the only decent, tolerable video out there. Im getting in shape to get back into surfing and its really helping me. It makes my muscles nice and long, lean, and loose. The relaxation part really is fantastic and helps me stay focused to reach my goal of being a surfer again. My only complaint is that its slightly talk-ey for me. I could do with less talking. Overall though, it has lovely music, Peggy Hall is a great teacher, and its very relaxing. I would say its a great purchase for any level. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Rewardingly hard but take care
Having practiced ashtange yoga for some time, I thought I was strong and fit. Doing this practice made me realise that I was overestimating myself, but in a very good way. I had heard a lot about the kundalini style of yoga before, but hadn't tried it, and I was shocked at how aerobically demanding this is. If you are more of a fitness fiend than a yogi, then it might help to know that this practice works a little like interval training, with short sections of very very very strong activity followed by less frantic, more gentle stretches and then back to the frantic activity again. I now do this session twice a week and I am sure that I am 'fitter' for it, but I wouldn't give up my ashtanga or hatha practice.

I ony give this four stars rather than five simply because I feel it would be quite easy to injure yourself using this, even if you follow the modifications; partly because some of the movements are very fast and if you don't know how to position your body correctly you could end up wrenching something vital; and also because, as is the sad norm with any exercise video, the modification models are tucked away at the back and don't seem to get the same amount of camera time as Ms. Kamler or those demonstrating the full, advanced versions of the moves. Maybe some day someone will give prominence to the less advanced practitioners.

So it's tough but good. But proceed with caution, and remember that a)you can always move a little more slowly than the models do and b) you can ignore Erin Kamler when she tells you that it's only your mind that tells you to stop, because it could well be a muscle injury developing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this one!!!
Mantra Girl is the new voice of health and well being. Her music calms me and de-stresses my being. Her stunning DVD's are hipnotizing and conprehensive. Easy to follow and modify to my own level of YOGA.
Mantra Girl is a star shinning so bright, you might want to wear sunglasses while doing YOGA with her!!!

She is the image of YOGA!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tough!
Everyone I know who's tried Erin's dvds loves her. She's an inspiring kundalini yoga instructor and not at all pretentious. She doesn't wear a turban or pretend she's your guru. She does the exercises along with you. She's far better than most kundalini yoga teachers you see on video and dvd (well, better than most of the males I've seen, but I won't mention names)... The production values on this dvd are very high. But you should know before ordering it that in this case, advanced means advanced! It's a tough workout!

I enjoy kundalini yoga but prefer not to work quite this hard. This one will test your strength and endurance like few kundalini yoga workouts. Erin's excellent, but I will stick with her first dvd (even though introductory is in the other title it's a good one for intermediate levels as well, or advanced levels wanting a less taxing day).

I hope Erin will come out with more dvds somewhere in between volume 1 and 2 for challenge. Or more like volume 1 even would be nice. This one is so tough I might give it to one of my friends who is a fitness addict who doesn't feel she's working herself unless she suffers. (But then she's also in her 20's so her body can take the heat). Loved the music though (same as on her introductory dvd, only more of the fast tempo music). And the outdoor location (also shown on the introductory dvd) is pretty. I don't want to say anything negative about this dvd, because you definitely get your money's worth and then some, and it's wonderful in so many ways. But I think most people looking to do kundalini yoga will be more drawn to volume 1 unless you're like my friend, the fitness addict who won't settle for anything less than a super challenging workout. Or if the only yoga you do is power yoga or ashtanga, this one may be for you. Just be prepared to work hard.

Besides volume 1 I recommend Erin's CD with her songs. This girl can sing!!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favourite kundalini yoga workouts
I recently got both of Mantra Girl's kundalini yoga dvds, "An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Chanting" plus this more advanced routine. Of the 10 kundalini yoga videos and dvds I now own, these two are by far and away the best.

They're a lot of fun to do. The music is terrific (very pretty) and I love the gorgeous outdoor setting by the water. Aside from being a yoga teacher, Erin Kamler (Mantra Girl) is also a recording artist and her music is the best I've heard yet on any kundalini yoga video/dvd. I'm considering getting her CD now so I can listen to it at work. She's a good instructor. She says enough to guide you, but doesn't talk too much like some others. Instead, she lets you focus on the yoga.

This advanced kundalini yoga routine is more challenging than her first dvd, of course. But even if you're very fit, if you're new to kundalini yoga I recommend getting her first dvd as well. This one won't show you how to breathe properly, as it's assumed you've seen her demonstrate on her introductory dvd. And kundalini yoga breathwork (breath of fire) is unlike that of any other type of yoga. The exercises are quite different as well, with more emphasis on movement and flexing the spine. I prefer kundalini yoga to any other type.

If you're a true lover of kundalini yoga - whatever your level - you may want to get both volumes. The first is more laid back but very effective, this second dvd is a great one to grow into (even if you're not there yet). They're quite different from each other but compliment each other really well. This advanced routine will work you hard but like the first dvd, will leave you feeling great afterward. I no sooner finish the workouts when I find myself looking forward to doing them again. ... Read more
