Description

A female erotic film director and her star head east to New York City to hunt for the perfect new stud for their next movie. Dozens of guys show up to audition, but things don’t go as smoothly as expected as the director tries desperately to keep her wannabe studs on the set and off the casting couch! Things spin hilariously out of control, but in the end, the director has her revenge in the most enviable of ways! This is a satirical look at the adult entertainment business and in a fun way spoofs everything from backstage shenanigans to the egos, fans, paparazzi and even Candida Royalle herself.

Starring: Ava Vincent, Alexandra Silk, Leila Swan, Tara Indiana, Brian Bishop, Johnny Dannon, Marcus Oralius and Grego. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good movie about a little known war
This was a war that the Soviet Union waged on Finland in the winter of 1939 to gain access to a port. They got quite a shock when they were met by extremely stiff resistance. This movie chronicles a group of friends who go together to the front to fight. This is a tough bunch of guys, but they never lose their humanity, like most of the nazi soldiers did. The Soviet forces were lacking leadership due to the fact that Stalin had decimated their ranks in one of his insane paranoid murderous purges. This is the war that convinced Hitler that the Soviets would crumble when his army attacked them. The film does have a kind of washed out, grainy look, a little more than Saving Private Ryan did, but that didn't detract from the movie. It kind of emphasized the bleakness those men were facing. This movie has great battle action sequences, and I'll bet if there were environmentalists on the set, they'd have all had heart attacks because of the number of trees that were destroyed by tanks and artillary. This movie isn't hampered by contrived plots, like SPR, or unnecessary love triangles, like what is in Enemy at the Gates (which is a good movie in every other respect). The only quibble I have with this movie is that the subtitles were sometimes hard to read and the English wasn't always correct (but that was kind of comical).

3-0 out of 5 stars Great combat scenes but some boring parts
This is an okay movie. It tells the extremely dramatic story of Finnland's heroic resistance against the Soviet invasion of 1939 (this, by the way, is one of the things that the Russians would like you to forget about when they assert that they essentially won World War II on their own).

Anyway, the combat scenes are impressive for a film made in 1989. However, unless you speak Finnish, you're likely to get bored and start pressing the fast forward buttton when Talvisota gives you a series of verbose scenes at the beginning that last almost a half hour. There are several shorter (mercifully) interruptions punctuating the combat.

I've often wondered why Hollywood has never made a film about the brave fight that the Finns put up against the Russians. It would seem to me that the story would have the same appeal that "Braveheart" did. But then, I'm not a Hollywood producer.

The bottom line: If you can't rent it, I'd recommend buying it used (like I did). It simply isn't worth 45 dollars brand new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Guy's Movie!
I give this film 5 stars not so much for its storyline or plot (which is virtually non-existant) but for its attempt to show a little known conflict. The combat scenes in this movie are intense. The waves of Soviet infantrymen throwing themselves upon the Mannerheim line gives the viewer a good idea what it must have been like for the Finns. The production value of this film is superb. Those are authentic Soviet T-26 light tanks, and early Yak Fighters. Again, don't look at this movie if you want to see a human interest story or standard plot. The intent of this work is docu-drama. The film accurately shows what the Finns did to resist the Soviet onslaught of 1939-40. There is not much character development here, pretty much all the Finns look like another, but what you see is a gritty determination of a small nation to defend itself against Stalin's tyranny. In the end of course the Finns had to make unfortunate concessions, but few modern wars show a more inspiring image of a small determined people fighting for their survival. This film is worth looking at for its marvalous combat scenes, equippment, and sheer grit. This is certainly a guys movie par excellenece. If you are inspired by it you should read the fine recent history of the conflcit entitled "A Frozen Hell"

5-0 out of 5 stars Original Film Was Oscar Worthy, DVD Is Cut In Half
I wanted badly to purchase this DVD. However, the DVD running time is only 125 minutes. The film, when released, ran 3 hours and 16 minutes!!! That translates to 196 minutes. I am not surprised that this DVD has collected some very negative reviews here. It is missing an hour of content!!! I am now off on a search for an uncut version. I still have a Los Angeles Times review of this film from December 8, 1989 (when it arrived as Finland's official Oscar submission) written by Kevin Thomas who marvels at "a classic war picture, at once intimate and epic, majestic and numbing." ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Back's work deserves to be seen by a wide audience
Others have listed the contents, so I won't bother. I bought this on the strength of two shorts-Crac! and The Man Who Planted Trees, both of which I have on VHS, but wanted on DVD.I figured anything else was a bonus. All nine of the animated shorts are good to excellent, but I now have two more reasons to be delighted to have bought this set: All Nothing and The Mighty River. The Mighty River is almost as incredible as The Man Who Planted Trees. It deserves to be more widely known than it is.Everything on the set is worth checking out, but most especially watch the various Photo Galleries. The detail is all the more impressive in stills.A most highly recommended set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pricey, But Worth Every Single Cent
I have heard of Frédéric Back's The Man Who Planted Trees before by virtue of it being an Oscar winner for Best Animated Short in 1988, but have never seen it. When I found out that there was this DVD set collecting all his work, I was quite enthusiastic about it. It was expensive, but I ordered it anyway. And then I was left thinking or the next three weeks if my money was dumped into the drain for something I didn't know what to expect.

Since receiving my copy of The Man Who Planted Trees DVD, I have watched all the animated shorts, and bonus features. I am so amazed by his work -- both as an animator as well as an environmental activist.

When I was watching the films, I was thinking that this guy is carzy -- To think that Back hand-drew and used coloured pencils to complete every individual frame (background and foreground) of the film is just incredible. His films play with a continuous flow of images that is very much like a stream of consciousness projecting life at it's fullest -- alert, active and vibrant. And to add to that liveliness is the suitably used Impressionistic style with the rich beauty, movement and colour.

To some extent, as I watched the "The Man Who Planted Trees" and "Crac!" I was reminded of Winsor McCay's work such as "Gertie the Dinosaur" (1913). Here is a man so dedicated to his art. When McCay drew 10,000 ink-drawings to make the Gertie move, Back spent five years doing some 200,000 drawings to make his 33-minute The Man Who Planted Trees film.

That's what I call dedication and passion to his work and art. And you don't come across people like that very often.

So is the DVD set worth buying? I believe it was money well spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Animation with a Heart, a Soul and a Purpose
Whether you are a longtime fan of the work of Canada's Frederic Back, or you are just discovering the masters of animation, you'll both be equally and incredibly pleased with this four-disc anthology.Nine films are included: Abracadabra, Inon or the Conquest of Fire, The Creation of Birds, Illusion?, Taratata!, All Nothing, Crac!, The Mighty River and The Man Who Planted Trees -- as well as several insightful interviews and a documentary retrospective of the life and work of Frederic Back. All are presented beautifully, with each film looking and sounding fresh and well-cared for.

But beyond the presentation, these films (particularly The Man Who Planted Trees, Illusion? and The Mighty River) get to the heart of environmentalism and stewardship. They are not shrill or glib, not reactive or stalely didactic -- these films are awash with animism and life, each using this unique medium to exhalt the beauty of creation, and to exemplify the folly of excess.Back's impressionistic style flows like a river itself, rolling and moving and churning, urging us to face the simple truths of our abuses, and to consider the possibility of a more harmonious course.

I'll stop there, because I'm afraid I'm making Back's work sound contrived.Walt Disney once said that a true animated film could not be put into words, and he was right.I can only urge you to see these truly remarkable films, and to share them with the youngest generations. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 10 easy lessons of Argentine Tango
This video is comprised of 10 lessons, which start at the very basic and progress at an easy pace. Different viewing angles and slow motion are very useful. Excellent quality images and sound. Especially impressive is the impeccable footwork of the teachers - Fabian Salas and Cecilia Gonzalez. The style of dancing being taught is very elegant, as authentic argentine tango is. The two exhibitions by Fabian and Cecilia are very impressive and a great bonus. Well done!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best in class
This instructional video is the best in its class. Lessons are simple and fun, progression is quick and easy, yet the tango being taught here is the authentic Argentine tango. What more can one ask? Well, maybe a DVD edition ... In any case, this is the best way to start learning the most intimate dance of all time - the Tango!

5-0 out of 5 stars Logical and enjoyable
I am just a beginner, but I find this instructional series (all three volumes) to be very logical and well prepared. It allows me to progress very fast and not forget what I've learned in previous lessons. It is also very enjoyable, as I am having lots of fun with my partner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Master level instruction
Tango can be one of the hardest dances to learn by video but this video makes it very easy.
After following the detailed instruction in this dvd you will be able to Tango with style for a complete Tango song.
Each of the steps flows beautifully into the next step so the flow you learn is great.
Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars "The Core" or Naked men do pilates on the garage floor
The DVD has the following menu: Workout; Scene selection; Pilates Principles; outtakes; slide show; and yoga secrets trailer. I bought this video because: (a) (...); (b) I'm interested in pilates; (c) (...) I would be learning some useful exercise at the same time (it's called rationalisation). Two young, well endowed, handsome men, black and white, perform 36 classic pilates exercises in about 40 minutes. The setting is a grungy garage and the men practice on mats placed on a very dirty looking floor - Grunge Pilates! (...). And, the camera stays firmly on the area I wanted to see - that is the core - which is so important in pilates! I can't say the pilates form was exceptional, but both men work hard and they look pretty much like the I look when I practice - you know - a bit shakey. After watching the workout, I viewed the outtakes - a montage of scenes during the making of the video with the boys larking about, suggestively and otherwise. I thought it was funny to watch after viewing the main workout. Fair dues to them both for keeping a (mostly) straight face during the workout. So, there you go. Two naked men doing pilates in a garage, and in a genre almost entirely female, I say more power to them. I may even do the workout one day. Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pilates Secrets - All Male Nude
I highly recommend this DVD. Not only is it visually appealing. It is also very educational and it works. I am seeing results after one week. I never knew that I had the capability for my abs to look as fabulous as they do. I give this DVD an A+++++++++++++ ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Very short shorts - not enough content to merit the price
This DVD contains 4 short films.

The first film, DEBS, is about 7 minutes long and was the most entertaining of the bunch(two very gorgeous girls making out in the middle of a gun fight between the goodies and the baddies).

The middle two films left me cold. One short was about a lesbian couple who goes to visit one of the partners sister who is transgendering into the man.Amanda Bearse (sp?) plays the sister who is furious bitch to her tranny sister. This film was a major downer and I didn't see the point of it.

The third film was about a little girl who wants to fly and lives with her trailer trash mom and is basically ignored unless she does something wrong. She runs away to a neighboror who everyone thinks is freak and they have a brief but touching discussion.I didn't see what this film had to do with lesbians and I was very disappointed because of this.

The fourth short film is a series of scenes taken from about a dozen famous films but with a gay spin (example: From Here to Eternity has two women making out a beach, Casablanca has Rick saying goodbye to his very femmy boyfriend, Young Frankenstein has a big gay monster doing it to the effeminate guy in the hay loft and so on.) Most of these short movie scenes were very enjoyable.

What I object to regarding this DVD is that it did not have a lot of lesbians and/or lesbian action, and/or the films were depressing. This DVD was not worth $25 but would be worth renting at Netflicks since you can bet your sweet bippy this DVID ain't ever going to show up at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Touching, Entertaining and Fun!
All four of the short films have something very special to offer the L&G community.D.E.B.S is s super funny and sexy parody of high school spies where one has something to hide.Give or Take an Inch gives a touching look behind the repercussions of a sex change.Fly Cherry is a poignant look into the lives of two very different women and a connection they share. Finally is a great take on classic films with a L&G twist.Hilarious and thought provoking! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good little German Movie
THE BRIDGE is a fine B&W WWII movie that is set in a village deep in Western Germany. All of the action occurs the last week of April, 1945.
This Movie is unique because of the time, location, and entirely German perspective of this tiny War story.
The eight kids who are assigned to guard, then defend, the bridge are 16 year olds. The climatic battle with the American Armored patrol is very well done (for the most part). What is interesting is that, because this is a German made film, the American soldiers and Sherman Tank gunners are all very bad shots (except for an American sniper with a scoped rifle). Where as in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN (an American made film), the German Wafen SS troops and Tiger Tank gunners who attack the bridge at Ramelle are also very bad shots!
Still the action is riveting for a low budget, foreign film. Unfortunately, the viewer has to wait an hour for the final battle, because most of the picture is character development, and it consists largely of teenagers yelling at their parents, which can be very obnoxious to listen in German dialouge.

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good German war film
One of the few post-war (1959) German films to depict actual combat against the Americans, "Die Bruecke" (The Bridge) was shot on location in Bavaria in black-and-white with a low budget and mostly local actors. Still, it tells its story well and avoids the blah-blah, angst-ridden, self-psychoanalysis that plagues much German cinema. Set in the last days of World War Two, the film tells the story of a group of teenage schoolmates drafted into the home guard and assigned to defend the bridge into their village against the approaching Americans. Their leaders are middle-aged WW1 veterans (who recall their own combat experiences with bitterness) and die-hard Nazi fanatics (who can't admit the war is already lost). In simple, realistic scenes the director portrays the futility, confusion, terror and waste of all war, and the hopeless anarchy that existed in 1945 Germany. A well-wrought little gem. Too bad it hasn't found a larger American audience. Compares favorably with "A Walk in the Sun," which is at least available on VHS.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite
... The one thing that truly upset me was the seemingly obvious attempt to make the Americans look as stupid as possible. The uniforms and equipment they were clad in were truly insulting. There were enough Americans in Germany at the time the movie was made that authentic gear would have been as close as a call to any American base. I realize this was a German film and was not intended to make the Americans look good, but come on. If the intent was to make the Americans look foolish--it worked. An effort to show the boys fighting a well equipped American force would certainly would have honored the boys efforts more effectively than showing them fighting the bunch of oafs portrayed. Save your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Perspective
I won't give a whole summary of the movie, but this movie is amazing.... you can see a completely different side of what we as Americans are used to. It shows sympathetic Amercian soldiers and the way a war and your pride can bring so much courage to a battle not meant for people this young. I don't think it really has anything else to say but PROPAGANDA, they wanted to fight becuase of what they saw and thier innocence is what held them together. Excellent film.

4-0 out of 5 stars Little to add except...
Others here have already detailed what a fine (anti)war film Die Bruecke is and why. I can only echo those sentiments: this is a gripping film that really makes you think about militarism and war and their costs. I did find one unfortunate problem with this particular release of the film: the subtitles are at times wrong, but more often they cut and simplify the dialogue and seemingly make little attempt to recreate its nuances. On the bright side, this film isn't heavily rooted in dialogue: the plot and images speak louder than words and get the messages across as clear as day. Still, it would be nice to see this film re-released with better subtitling. ... Read more

Description

This listing is offered to individuals for private viewing.

A man with no home and no job, Paul Erdös was the most prolific mathematician who ever lived. Born in Hungary in 1913, Erdös wrote and co-authored over 1,500 papers and pioneered several fields in theoretical mathematics. At the age of 83 he still spent most of his time on the road, going from math meeting to math meeting, continually working on problems. He died on September 20, 1996 while attending such a meeting in Warsaw, Poland. N is a Number: A Portrait of Paul Erdös was filmed between 1988 and 1991.

The structure of N is a Number is based on Erdös's 50 years of perpetual wandering, "like a bumblebee," carrying news and mathematical information from university to university. Erdös established himself as a serious mathematician at the age of 20 when he devised a more elegant proof for Chebyshev's theorem, i.e., that there is always a prime number between any number and its double.

In an age dominated by technical wizardry and high tech communications, Erdös was an unusual human link connecting hundreds of people. As he traveled from country to country, Erdös carried with him the latest in mathematical thinking, inspiring others to develop new ideas and, sometimes, entire new fields. In turn, the mathematical community supported this repository of centuries of mathematical knowledge and lore. Every mathematician in the world has an "Erdös Number"-the number of people he or she is removed from having co-authored a paper with Erdös.

N is a Numberis a one-hour 16mm documentary filmed over a four-year period in four countries between 1988 and 1991. The film was produced, directed and edited by George Paul Csicsery.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent old war movie of the most terrible battle
A German war movie of the late fifties recreates the encirclement, agony and destruction of the German VI Army (and part of IV panzer army) in Stalingrad. Very well recreated battle scenarios inside the city and the surroundings of the "kessel". For all those interested in this horrendous battle, a "must see" film. Black and white, German.

2-0 out of 5 stars A low budget movie & an expensive DVD!
Frank Wisbar weaved this tale on the Stalingrad campaign like a student of the Tolstoy school of thought with its strong emphasis on historical accuracies. Unfortunately, nearly every scene in this movie was melodrama over dramatic creativity.

All the basic facts regarding what had happened at Stalingrad is here; the Romanian(Rumanian as they were called then) division's sucumb to tank fright, the city in ruins, desparate street fights(not so desparate here), the encircling of the German Sixth Army and the 4th Panzer Army's(under General Hoth) failure to reinforced it, the Luftwaffe's inability to resupply 'der Kessel' and their insignificant crates of worthless goods, the Russian winter, the German soldiers' near-starvation diet and their attempt at AWOL by clinging on to JU-52 transport planes, Hitler's indifference to the Sixth Army's doomed fate, General Paulus' unswerving loyalty to the Fuehrer's directives, Paulus' promotion to Field-Marshal hinting of suicide rather than surrender, and the Field-Marshal's last act of defiance to Hitler's orders.

The acting was apathetic as characteristic in most '50s classics. So stiff were the actors' performances, don't even expect to learn the psychology of the German soldier here. But the set design was near perfect, if not a bit under-budgeted. The costume and makeup looked too flush on the depraved Germans, otherwise accurate. The military equipments remained faithful, except for the T-34/85(sans the T-34/76s from newsreel footage) that was featured prominently during the battle scenes. It hasn't been developed yet at the time of Stalingrad. But at least they didn't throw in a surplus Sherman tank in disguise with red paint seared over its white star.

The DVD itself is a dissappointment. It has no special features except for the chapter selections. There is also no dual language selection. And the English subtitle was permanently burnt into the feature. Occasional grain here and there has not been cleansed. Frankly speaking, it is like a cheap direct VHS to DVD transfer. The hefty price tag is simply not justified. This DVD is most certainly fit for yard sales. ... Read more

Description

In January of 2001, American director James Longley traveled to the Gaza Strip. His plan was to stay for two weeks to collect preliminary material for a documentary film on the Palestinian Intifada. It was during his stay that Ariel Sharon was elected as Israeli Prime Minister. As violence erupted around him, Longley threw away his return ticket and filmed for the next three months, acquiring nearly 75 hours of footage.Gaza Strip, his first feature documentary, is an extraordinary and painful journey into the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip struggling with the day-to-day trials of the Israeli occupation.Filmed in verité style and without narration, Gaza Strip at last gives voice to a population largely ignored by mainstream media. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Not Fox News ...
... And I for one am very thankful that this documentary takes the time to show some detail on the Palestinian side, rather than play this silly, false game of "fair and balanced". The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not a fair or balanced conflict between equals -- it's a situation of brutal military occupation of Palestinian land by Israel that has gone on for the last 35 years in the case of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. So "bravo!" to a film that is finally courageous enough not to pretend that the Palestinians and Israelis are on an equal footing, or that good journalism means showing both sides as if they are the same. They aren't the same: One side is living under occupation, the other side is the occupier. The shame of it is that many Americans don't seem to know which is which.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most illuminating documentary
A documentary film this strong about the Middle East conflict -- and particularly about the Palestinians -- is bound to attract a lot of strident pro-Israeli-occupation critics. You can read their 1-star reviews posted here. You can read silly statements about Palestinian children throwing "deadly" rocks at Israeli tanks. You can read utter hogwash about Palestinian children spending their days tunneling to Egypt.

Or you can get this film, and see Palestinian life in Gaza as it really is. This documentary is as close as it comes to showing the Palestinians in Gaza in a true light. Though it's not perfect, you will not find a better film about Palestinian life and death in Gaza. I have spent time in the Gaza Strip, and I can vouch for the accuracy of the portrayal in this film. Get it and show it to your friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great film
This documentary was a huge relief after watching so much useless Hollywood product. "Gaza Strip" is a real film about real people and real issues -- the best film I have seen about the Palestinians. Anyone looking for the inside track on what's happening in the Gaza Strip need look no farther!
Be warned: Some of material is too graphic for children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Watch the bitter truth - Thank you Mr. Longley
I would like to begin by thanking Mr.Longley for his efforts in making this much needed documentary.

This documentary is hard to watch as the inhumane conditions that the Palestinians live in under the Israeli occupation are very distrubing and painful. It's about time an issue like this is being addressd in vivid detail and it's time for people to deeply think why when you criticize Israel in any way, you're automatically labeled as Anti-Semite..could it be so that we don't pursue the painful truth further? we live in a world where "Democracy" and "Antisemiticism" are words used for political purposes and to hide the truth. I still can't believe Israel gets away with all this and we Americans give a big chunk of our taxes to further prolong the occupation, build more settlements against international law in Palestinian lands and make the already complex situation in the occupied etrrtories even worse for these poor people.
I stand ashamed and appauled at our ignorance to the outside world and our gullibility to the unbalanced and unfair news covering here in the U.S. Apparently censorship and biased news are embedded with us here at home and many don't realize it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Portrait of Life in the Gaza Strip
This film allows you to see the daily life of the people of the Gaza Strip, how the current war is affecting the daily routine of their lives, and the more basic conditions of human existence: food, shelter, basic health, and safety. You see the widespread violence that constitutes their environment, the difficulties they face in simply travelling within the Gaza Strip, and the less obvious victims of this incredibly stupid war-- for example, a young boy plays with a "glove" which detonates, killing him and wounding his friends. It's not just rockets and automatic rounds; it's homelessness; despair; landmines; amputations.
This is a great way to see the other side of the conflict. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a diverse and intelligent selection of short films
This is definitely one of the better collections of shorts from different filmmakers that I've seen yet--and many of these films improve with multiple viewings. The subject matters range from parent-child relationships (John and Mia--a fantastic film) to insomnia (Fish Never Sleep--I've watched this like eight times). There are several films here that merit sharing them with others--anyone who enjoys the potential of this medium will find new favorites among its contents. The World of Interiors is a simply wonderful hand-drawn animation concerning the difficulties of getting out of the house--another that I've watched several times. Dad's Dead is one of the most innovative shorts I've ever seen--combining live action, animation, and some remarkable compositing of the two forms--it also tells a sinister story that sticks with you. The Chinese Wall is wonderfully written, acted, and directed--and beautifully shot. Being an indy filmmaker myself, this collection is a great example of separating the wheat from the chaff and I'm proud to have it in my collection. The optional director's commentaries are well done and informative, highlighting already fascinating works.
Highly recommended to both film enthusiasts and filmmakers!

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining and good variety of short films
This DVD is one of the better collection of short films I have run across. There were a couple of shorts I didn't care for, but for most of the 2.5 hours I found myself laughing, moved, or weeping. In one comedy, a child's stickman drawing comes to life and causes big trouble ("What's Wrong with This Picture?"); in another, a bunch of people start a support group for each other because they have *never* been abducted by aliens, and feel left out ("Non-Abductees Anonymous"). On the dramatic side, there's a touching story centered around 9/11 ("Tenth"), and a foreign short that reveals how our inner voices are quick to judge others on first impressions, often with devastating consequences ("The Chinese Wall").

If you want to watch something different than the standard Hollywood formulas, this DVD is definitely worth the time. It's a wonderful collection. In addition, unlike many of the indepedent DVDs, it has high-quality Dolby 5.1 sound encoding and filmmake commentaries on every short. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Yoga (and gay) convert.
What started out as a Valentine's Day gift to my wife turned into an embarrassing gift to myself. Whoa, what a shock and wake up call! We started out trying the various positions, but distraction soon turned to erection. Not for my wife, but for my new best friends.
I guess my advice to you is to purchase this only if you are VERY secure in your sexual orientation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic,Beautiful Video
For those Men who are interested in getting involved in a Yoga practice, this is the video to get.Naturally, the video cannot go into all aspects of yoga, but it is certainly a beautiful work that inspires men to do yoga...in the nude and with a partner.A great tape, I hope there are many more videos made like this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun To Watch - But Don't Expect To Learn Any Yoga.....
I had every intention of following along with this DVD. I warmed up. I stretched out. I cleared a nice space on the floor. I even lit some candles and incense to set the mood. But once I popped in this DVD, all my grand plans went down the toilet. Too bad, because I really wanted to learn their Yoga Secrets!

My first hint that this wasn't going to be basic yoga was the disclaimer before the yoga even starts about how the creators are not liable for any loss in connection with the exercises demonstrated in the DVD. Yikes!

The men start off by doing partnered handstands and armstands in their "tighty whities". I spent a large part of my youth doing gymnastics so it was fortunate that I could keep up with this exercise even without a partner. But not everyone can.

They use props such as wooden benches and what looks like a wooden fence of some sort (I guess it's the yoga equivalent of the barre in ballet). I know lots of people who do yoga but none of them own any of these props. (Hard to believe that wooden fences are not standard yoga issue these days!)

It doesn't take long for the men to shed their underwear. The men then go on to pick each other up off the floor for some of the positions. Needless to say, I dropped out early trying to keep up and I just became a spectator for the rest of the exercise.

I found the background music to be relaxing. I also couldn't help but notice that the camera focuses more on the mens' genitals than on the poses they are trying to demonstrate. Good thing the men happen to be very easy on the eyes.

After the 40 minutes of Yoga Secrets were over, I checked out the special features on the DVD. The "outtakes" were amusing. Among other things, it shows the men fidgeting and falling out of their handstands and other poses, etc. while the director is yelling out various instructions.

I would have given this DVD a higher rating if the yoga demonstrated in the DVD was something that could have been followed more easily by the average person. But I guess the only people who can keep up with this DVD are a bunch of guys standing near a wooden fence who take off all their clothes and pick each other up off the floor.

I'd recommend purchasing this DVD - but only for the entertainment value, not for the yoga instruction.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice to Look At But Not Practical
Definately eye candy. Not an instructional video, but pleasing to the eye. The guys on really are sincere yoga practicioners and the partner yoga is pleasing to watch. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars 80's
Was probably really good in the 80's...should probably stay there. This wasn't a total loss though; it treats the women like queens and doesn't require the surgical enhancement of its actors. While there is better out there, there is definitely worse.

I give it 3 stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Champagne and Sweets for Two
Director Candida Royalle has pioneered the genre of romantic erotica that can be enjoyed by couples. The actors are not the typical surgically enhanced twenty-something sexual automatons that grind their way through mainstream pornography. They look and act more like "real" people of different ages (even some with imperfect bodies)in real romantic situations. Look for character development, dreamy settings, and even a modicum of plot.

Christine is an attractive, thirty-something single woman who visits the lush Love Inn each year. In a bow to Lady Chatterly, it becomes apparent that she yearns for a forbidden rendezvous with the handsome young groundskeeper. Her sensual, soft-focus, longing, dream sequences are mingled with vignettes of other couples at the inn joyfully and playfully celebrating their couplehood, love and sexuality. Perhaps there is a message that the hottest of these scenes is reserved for the fiftyish inkeeper (with average looks and slightly sagging figure) and her long-time lover. The ending, of course, is completely predictable as the frustrated matron and the lonely groundskeeper throw caution and decorum to the wind in a firestorm of pent up longing so hot that it threatens to ignite the hayloft.

Romantic, sensual, sometimes funny. Explicit but not offensive. I liked it. My partner liked it. Her comment, "It's not cheesy like other erotic movies." ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More Than Worth It
I'm writing this anonymously because I'm bi, technically I'm straight cause I love my wife and kids, but I dabble with the boys weeknights while out of town. I was in Houston last week for business and met this young boy at JR's who demanded we do this video to get rid of my office vibe. So we got naked and did the yoga video for an hour. We both got real hot and sweaty and it was actually a real workout that I very much needed - but all for better sex. By the middle I was so ready to bounce on my dancer boy. But he made wait. But after I cannot believe my 46 year old self kept up with this boy shot for shot ALL Night - I hate working out. But now I see why boys do this yoga.. It makes you feel like a king! The instructor is very easy to follow, even the hard stuff seemed possible. I felt the benefits. I can't recommend this video more for you and all your lovers!! Next port of call, yoga men only please! Highly recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great session...more then just sex focused
This is a great yoga session (approx 50 min) to help you be more flexible and energetic. The instructor is innovative with poses and he explains well. You need to watch it once before doing it...he goes a bit fast. 3 guys are doing the poses with the instructor helping them.

Production value (sound quality/scene framing) is bit cheap...it feels like a one take session but it's not that important. ... Read more
