4-0 out of 5 stars not too demanding, but effective
I've got about half a dozen yoga DVDs and I find that this is the one I use the most often because it is not physically demanding, but is really effective.

The Rodney Yee program (AM) is shorter and focuses mainly on stretching out the back; I find it really helps when I've got any kind of lower back problem or just at stretching me out and getting me ready for the day.

The Patricia Walden program (PM) is slightly longer and focuses more on standing poses; it also has a very good deep relaxation at the end.

The only disadvantage to these Gaim DVDs is that they are programmed so that you have to play a longish commercial for all of their other products (what exacly is "organic clothing" anyway?) before you can start your workout. If you use the DVD regularly, the commercial gets really annoying after you've seen it about 20 times.

But all in all, this is a very useful DVD. It's accessible for beginners but also useful for people who've been doing yoga for a while but are looking for a short, focused, effective workout.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this DVD - new yoga enthusiast
I never understood the appeal of yoga before. I bought this DVD, and now I see why people love yoga so much. I had tried another yoga tape and other exercise tapes before, but most were not nearly as good as this one. I am now hooked. There are two 20 minute yoga segments. The first is called "AM Yoga" with Rodney Yee, and the second segment, called "PM Yoga", is with Patricia Walden. Both segments were terrific, but I especially enjoyed the "AM" segment with Rodney Yee. I found that during his section I could listen to Yee peacefully talk me through the poses without being glued to the tv screen. It allowed me to really enjoy the DVD more. When I was finished with his 20 minute segment, I felt so relaxed - it was surprising...I am looking now for other Yee DVD's. On the second segment, it wasn't as easy to follow the instructor. I imagine it would be easier to follow after a week of sessions to get used to it. Still, this is an excellent DVD for anyone curious about the appeal of yoga and looking for an excellent intro. You won't be doing any moves that are too advanced or aerobic in this DVD, but it is extremely relaxing. Also, the 20 minute segments are great for busy people who don't have endless amounts of time to fit in exercise. This is a great investment overall.

2-0 out of 5 stars Falls Short, just like the length
I just bought this DVD along with another Yoga DVD. This one is more of a meditation and relaxation video than a workout video. Most people say the segments are each 20 minutes long, but that's only if you do all of the meditation. The workouts are actually 13 minutes for the AM and 18 minutes for the PM. The other video I purchased has so much more to offer with more than one routine and much more length. If you don't want to spend a lot of time working out, press stop when you're ready. This video is over before you know it. In addition, the PM section wakes you up more than the AM, so I'd reverse the order when using. Definitely go for a Bryan Kest video.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple and relaxing...
Works for both my small boy and myself. Relaxing, easy to follow, and not too long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this DVD!!
I do the PM part of this DVD each morning and can't believe the difference it makes in my body after just 25 minutes of yoga. This DVD is perfect for those who are not very flexible (me included). What I can't figure out is why the woman in the PM part is in the middle of a sandstorm while Rodney Yee (AM part) is in an idyllic beach setting! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Purchasing
Prenatal yoga is worth buying for pregnant women looking for an at-home guide to stretching. The scenery and music are pleasant, and the instruction is easy to follow. It features one women for each trimester, who adjust the yoga exercises accordingly. I do it once a week, in addition to 3 days per week of one-hour cardio exercise/light weight-lifting sessions at the gym. I wish I had the time to do Prenatal Yoga more often; it's hard to find an hour to myself with my 2 1/2 year old son. This video seems to help ease backaches and stiffness associated with pregnancy. I view this yoga video as a convenient but important complement to my multi-faceted exercise rountine.

3-0 out of 5 stars ok. It depends...
The usefulness of this tape depends on what you're looking for. If you haven't been exercising a lot before pregnancy, this is likely suitable. You'll certainly get a good amount of toning and relaxing-stretching that will make you feel pretty good.

Unlike some reviewers,I didn't mind the fact that the tape uses voice-over, but i found the instructor to be a little too "relaxed" for my taste --that is, she doesn't convey enough energy to get me going. I was a regular exerciser before I got pregnant (pilates and running) and so, I found this tape to not really be enough. If you have time to exercise 2 hours a day, you might combine it with a brisk walk or light run to get a more satisfying workout. But, if you're like me, an hour max is all you can spare. Actually, I haven't touched this tape since getting Leisa Hart's "FitMama". The latter includes yoga along with some fun salsa-dance aerobics, as well as kegels and stretching--it just feels like a more complete, efficient workout.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I started this workout in my second trimester, and I loved it! It helped me to relax and eased some of my aches and pains in my third trimester. It also helped me to not gain as much weight as I might have. I found the breathing practice VERY helpful during my labor, and I give credit to this workout for my short labor and 15 minutes of pushing. It is great for strengthening the muscles you need for labor, and I lost weight very quickly afterward since I was in great shape before. I have several other prenatal yoga tapes, but this is the one I grabbed the most and found to be the better workout.

4-0 out of 5 stars better than most prenatal DVDs
I agree with an earlier reviewer who was annoyed at her pronounciation of exhale ("eggsale"), but other than that I rank this far higher than Zen Mama (ug!) or even the seemingly beloved FitMama's yoga portion. This is much more like real yoga classes I've taken, and I think that you DO hold the poses enough to get a workout, for sure. I'm in my 8th month and this is the video I reach for when my back or ribs are sore. I always feel better afterward, and usually sleep better too.

1-0 out of 5 stars poor workout, terrible audio
the moves in this wokrout are too short to be effective, whether you are prego ro not....Shiva seems to be a nice lady, but she teaches with voiveovers and that annoys you so much. She is not confident and doesn't help you relax before, during, or after the workout. This is so average it will not inspire you or help you unless you are totally desparate. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD at an excellent price
I find this DVD to be an invaluable resource. It has more than four hours of various sections and details. It is perfect for beginners because it doesn't "dumb-down" the art of Tai Chi and gives an incredible overview. Tai Chi was originally a martial art and is now practiced mainly for health and relaxation. Without the martial essence the Spirit is lost, the postures have no meaning, and the mind loses its focus during practice.

This is the real thing, on a DVD with amazing navigation. Every single movement, posture and technique has its own chapter marker which makes it possible for anyone to study the form carefully and learn authentic Tai Chi quickly.

The depth of the content is impressive, while the presentation is simple and relaxing. I especially love the music during the program and the breathing instructions during the form..

There really is enough to practice on this DVD for years, rather than many of the Tai Chi videos out there where you see someone on the beach going through the motions, which you'll only ever watch once or twice. It is very difficult to find anyone who even knows the original 108 Posture Classical form, nevermind a teacher who performs it so beautifully and gives us so much insight.

1-0 out of 5 stars A reference video, not for the beginner
This is really more an encyclopedia article than a learning video. Note also this video comes from a fighting art viewpoint; no relieve-stress-on-the-beach scenes here. As reference it goes into MUCH detail, but for beginners this is too tedious a place to start. All the moves are shown from about the same angle; new learners usually need more help than that and will find this video frustrating in that respect. If you already know the form, are looking for more historical background or are coming from another martial art you will find a lot of data. So it all depends on your goals - to learn the form look elsewhere, this is way overpriced. But if you already know the form and are looking for details, you may find it interesting. Either way though its a bit pricey for what you get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest Tai Chi Video Ever
The DVD edition of this Yang style Tai Chi video is so amazing. It is organized in a very simple and scholarly way, but the teaching inside is very deep and thorough.

It starts right at the very basics for beginners and gives you an excellent overview of the art of Tai Chi. The setting is a formal training studio. The video contains all the things you would learn in a Tai Chi Class from the basic stances and fundamental postures, to the entire form instructed and performed in complete detail by Dr. Yang.

There is an enhanced content button you can click on at any time to get the detailed analysis and instruction of every one of the movements. He even demonstrates some Chin Na grappling hidden in the postures of the form.

Not only is the entire thing subtitled, which is really helpful, but there are additional content subtitles, between the narration, in case you're interested in knowing more. It is over four hours long, including an excerpt of a Tai Chi Theory lecture by Dr. Yang, where he clearly explains the roots of Taiji Philosophy and Tai Chi as a martial art. This lecture alone makes the DVD worth getting.

There are also additional sections which explain Taiji Qigong (Chi Kung) internal energy training, and Taiji Fa Jin, which is the 'emission of internal power.'

The music is beautiful Classical Chinese and suits Master Yang nicely. I see this DVD as a very important document for transmitting the true essence of Taiji, both in its Classical form, and as a living, modern art.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not for beginners
This is definitely a great DVD but it's not for beginners. The concepts he explains and the way the forms & other sequences are filmed will not do you much good unless you're already familiar with tai chi / kung fu. The picture quality leaves much to be desired and it's obvious that this was poorly remastered from a VHS tape. However, there is a wealth of information here and it's really worth the price. All of Dr. Yang, Jwing Ming's products are worth seeking out for the enthusiast or serious student.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely well done
I've seen a number of other videos offering instruction in various styles of martial arts and Tai Chi specifically. This one stands above them all for the quality of the production and the way the DVD is put together.

There is a great wealth of information on this DVD. There is a short lecture on theory, a number of loosening up and warming up exercises, Taiji Qigong exercises, and of course the full Yang style long form. Everything has chapter stops and you can skip to the section you want quickly and easily from the DVD menu.

The long form doesn't dwell excessively on any individual movement which allows you to practice along with it, but if you want more detail on how a movement is performed, you can hit 'Enter' on your DVD remote when the yin yang symbol is on the screen to get in depth instruction on the current movement being demonstrated. In that way it manages to offer the best of both worlds.

The only small criticism I have is the way the camera angle would switch sometimes during the course of a movement. It was done to provide the best view of the movement I'm sure, but the specific directions each movement travels in are not clear. A small nit to pick no doubt and probably of no concern to a beginner anyway. All in all this DVD stands well above any other Tai Chi instructional video I've seen. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Yoga Workout
I began yoga about a year ago. I bought this set about 2 months ago and still absolutely love it. There are a wide variety of types of exercises, from stretching to fat burning, all at the beginner level. Most of the DVDs have 2 - 20 min sessions, so you can mix and match. Their instruction is well done; you can look at the screen to see what you should look like, but listen to understand all the fine details. They really emphasize the breath, telling you when to exhale and inhale, which is something I find lacking in many other yoga videos. If you are not sure you need so many yoga DVDS, I recommend starting with the YogaZone Intro to Power Yoga, the second session is great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great teachers, good mix of sessions
I love this collection. First, Yoga Zone tapes are my favorite. They explain the poses, what you should be focusing on, what you should be feeling, how to breathe, and how to make each pose harder/ easier depending on your level. All these sessions are suitable for beginners, and there's a great selection: flexibility, stress relief, yoga for abs, total body conditioning, intro to power yoga, and yoga for weight loss. Each DVD has two sessions. If you want to stretch, tone, relax, or move, there's a session in this collection for it. Plus, the variety keeps it interesting. If you're just starting yoga, buy/rent a Yoga Zone tape to see if you like it, and if you're going to stick with it, get this collection! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the moderatly overweight/moderately out of shape
I just got this DVD today and finished the workout a few minutes ago. I can definitly feel the burn in my abs, and I can tell my arms and legs will be a bit sore tommorrow! I am a 20 yr old college student, about 30 lbs overweight, not toned at all and pretty much out of shape but not completly (I can jog a 12 min mile and then I have to walk for a few minutes before I can even think of jogging some more). I found this video to be at a good level for me, and I think if I was less or more in shape it would still be good. I could do all of the exercises, although I could not get the full range of motion on a few (that was in part because while Denise reccomends 3-8lb weights, I only have 10 lbs). Denise talks constantly, and I found that motivating, although I would definitly not buy a yoga or other relaxing workout from her! The first 20 minutes uses free weights and the second 20 minutes uses a stability ball and free weights. The DVD does not pause in between the workout sections, but it is clear that if you only want a short workout, the time when Denise gets her stability ball is the time to stop the DVD. I did the first 20 min, made a 10 min phone call, and did the second 20 min. I am pretty sure I could have done the tape straight through with only a quick water break in the middle, although I was definitly breathing hard and sweating light-moderate. (The workout is not exactly cardio, but since I am out of shape, the effort of lifting weights and switching positions brought up my heartrate to where it would be maybe a minute or two into a slow jog)I also really liked that there were many excersizes to work each muscle and very few reps of each, so the muscle was worked for enough time without the movements getting to repetitive. I also liked how a boring movement such as arm curls with weights was made a little more bearable by rocking back in forth. Overall, I liked this tape and I feel it really worked my muscles, and as I strengthen I can increase the weight and range of motion and still be challanged.

5-0 out of 5 stars gotta be one of the best
Denise Austin is very motivational and unlike other exercise dvds I have used, she uses the most efficient techniques to work on my exact problem areas, and all within 45 minutes! I love the combination of stretching, pilates, weights, and balance ball. I never stick to exercise dvds but I think I will this one because I totally see the difference!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Effective!!!
Denise Austin is THE fitness icon of today! She is fun and motivating in this video. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and would highly recommend this video to anyone interested in getting fit without paying a huge sum of money! Denise Austin is easy to follow and using the ball and/or dumbbells is a great way to tone and burn fat. The video is about 40 minutes long and although it is not a "cardio" workout I could still feel my heart rate getting up there. If your thinking about purchasing this DVD, buy it!! I promise you will see results!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this video!
This video tape not only toned all of my problem areas, but gave me energy and confidence.

5-0 out of 5 stars Okay She Has an Annoying Voice...
It is not a cardio workout nor is it advertised as one. It is two separate twenty minute workouts. 1-20 minute using only weights and the other using weights and the stability ball. I use this to tone and for the abdominals. I use Jane Fonda Step Aerobic or Billy Blanks Cardio for a CARDIO workout. I am working out and really don't care about her voice. I can ignore it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good intro to basics!
I was not too interested in this DVD at first--mainly because of the title. I thought the yoga workouts would be too basic. Although I'm not as flexible as I'd like to be, I can still do the postures without the props. I'm still a beginner, so the benefit is in the pacing. It's incredibly slow. At first I was frustrated by the slow pace, but then I realized the DVD gives me the perfect opportunity to work on my form in doing each posture. The whole point of yoga (for me) is to relieve tension and not run through poses like an obstacle course, so therein lies the benefit. It forces one to slow down and really contemplate each pose while focusing on the breath and proper form. This is not a DVD for anyone looking for a "power yoga" workout, but the selection of routines is varied and can fill whatever time one has to practice. With sessions ranging from 15 minutes to 75 minutes, viewers can mix and match to fill the time they have. The only negative is in the voiceover--it's a tad too monotonous.

5-0 out of 5 stars What all Yoga DVD's should hope to be
Yoga for Inflexible People has finally done it - detailed instruction, a variety or practices, length and degree of difficulty all on one disc. This would be perfect for the yoga beginner or anyone who wants to have variety and not always go to a class. The instructor is thorough and really explains everything. Listen to her and do what she says! It's moving at a slower pace then some other tapes, but she's taking time to help you perfect the pose and get a better understanding of what your body should be doing and feeling. It's just the right pace for this style of yoga. If you don't have the real yoga props, that's ok, you can make due with things you've got like books, a belt etc. Choose the type of workout you want, the part of your body you want to focus on and the length of workout you want to do. I love being able to customize my practice for what I feel I want or need on any given day. Other tapes and DVD's in my collection don't have that flexibility, and even my yoga class can't do that for me!

5-0 out of 5 stars More Than I Expected, Wonderful, Intelligent Learning Tool
I bought this video last year after seeing a review in the Yoga Journal and based on advice from my instructor as I was starting Yoga. (she uses routines from this DVD in class).

As others have pointed out there are numerous routines in the DVD, and what some people perceive as "minuses" are in my opinion pluses. For instance:

    - The introduction in sanskrit for each exercise is short and lasts no more than a few seconds. If you are new to yoga, it is an excellant way to learn the names of the exercises in english and sanskrit

    - The use of chairs, walls and props is a benefit to to those of us who are inflexible, and are made as recommendations to assist inflexible people in performing the routines. These are sugestions by the intructor and not always needed if you do not feel you need assistance. The instructor makes that clear.

-There is an extensive variety of routines, and there are many shorter routines to build on. Out of the 30+ routines on the DVD, there are 7 routines or so of 15 - 20 minutes and about another 7 or so of 30 minutes. There is more then enough material to build on, and when you progess, there are many other routines on the DVD.

Perhaps there could be a bit more pep at points, and if you are a more advanced student you may be looking for different things in your workouts.

I was looking to learn yoga properly to increase my flexibility and this DVD is excellant. As the Yoga Journal said (which is above in the editorial reviews along with other publications that rated this DVD highly) this is an intelligent and useful DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
Easy to use and very profesional for every level

5-0 out of 5 stars This is my favorite!
I love this DVD! The beginning background music is very soothing. The narrator has a calming voice to go along with the instuctor's movements. All of the yoga poses are done in a slow, smooth manner. When you have to sit at a desk all day at work, it causes tension, immobility and stiffness in your joints and muscles. This DVD helps to relieve ALL of that for me. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to Tai Chi
As someone coming new to Tai Chi I wanted a medium which would allow me to easily repeat a particular section until I become comfortable with it. This DVD meets that requirement and more. I have found Paul Lam's explanations to be very thorough and free from jargon, and I am sure that after a few weeks I will start to derive some real benefits.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best way to get into tai-chi (besides live instruction)
This program enables anyone interested in learning tai-chi off to an enjoyable start. This video/dvd version by Dr. Paul Lam shows the 24 forms in different perspectives - including the full form facing you as well as back to you, which is very considerate for the absolute beginner which these videos are geared towards (I previously bought a video by another teacher which supposedly is geared to beginners as well but I didn't appreciate the version because the instructor faces the viewer leaving you to move in the opposite direction then does the complete form in silouhette lighting this video by Dr. Lam is much more considerate in that manner).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Instructional Video of the Standardised 24 forms
It is an excellent 2 hours instructional video of the standardised 24 forms. All the instructors are of high level, and explanations are very clear. The tape has 3 parts. The first part teaches 6 Qigong exercises. The second part teaches the 7 most important/difficult movements of the form. The third is a detailed instruction of all the 24 movements. Each movement is split in several parts and it is shown from different angles. At the end of the video, there is a complete demonstration of the 24 forms from the front and from the back views. There are instructions how to use the video for learning efficiently the 24 forms. However, it isn't enough for the absolute beginner. The video assumes that the viewer has a previous training either from a teacher or from al least one of other basic videos of Dr. Lam (eg. Tai chi for older adults, Tai Chi for Health).

5-0 out of 5 stars Go to the Head of the Class!
This is truly a marvelous video especially to be used as a study guide between classes. I used it in conjunction with a weekly class on the 24 Form with an instructor. I quickly went from novice to the head of the class. Now, when the instructor tells the students, "I know the class is crowded, but, if you cannot see me, watch Pat". I feel very proud. I could not have done it without Dr. Lam. Get this tape. It is an inexpensive way to Tai Chi stardom.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dr. Lam-- professional, standard Yang short form
Dr. Lam and some of his assistants in this DVD have won medals in China in Tai Chi competition. This reflects their standardness and conformity to the Yang style. If you want the standard stuff, and are not willing to settle for watered-down, careless, or altered versions, this is it. This will show you the Yang Short Form as true to its original developers. I have not had any instruction in karate or any martial art, but was able to follow the individual form presentations fine without having to go to the final demonstration.
I believe that much thought and care was put into the development of the forms to the end of maximizing the benefits to the flow of Chi in different parts of the body, with the attendant health benefits. Departing from or altering the forms could cut across the gains to be had from this. So I say be as standard as possible to reap the full benefits of Tai Chi.
I looked at several other Tai Chi DVDs. Some of them were at a lower level than the Yang Short Form. One of them was at a higher level-- showing 48 forms. The Yang Short Form was developed with the idea of having a set of forms that pretty much the whole population of China could do on a daily basis. The intention was to cut down on health care costs by promoting the preventative health care benefits of Tai Chi. So they needed high participation, and they couldn't make it difficult to learn. They also couldn't have it take much time. It takes only 4 - 6 minutes. Leading practitioners of Tai Chi were given the job of sifting through the larger body of Tai Chi forms and practices to come up with a set of exercise forms that would maximize health benefits in a short period of time. I respect the product of this work, and wanted to stay as close to it as possible. If you think this may be too much for you to start with, ask yourself "Do I think I can understand and apply as well as 80% of the Chinese population?" You probably can. If you think so, don't start out with a lower level "beginning" DVD. As far as a higher level, you can go on to that once you have this down. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT DVD
Megan's yoga dvd is fantastic. I have tried doing yoga in the past to only quit after one time because it was too hard and impossible to do.I am so glad I found this dvd.She is wonderful and this easy for the average person...any one can do it.I feel wonderful after doing it and actually look forward to my time to spend in front of the TV with Megan each day.

If are looking for a realistic yoga class for real people you have got to try this one....

5-0 out of 5 stars Just my size yoga..is outstanding!
I have a back injury that makes it practically impossible for me to do any type of exercise. Add that to being overweight and you have a real challenge. This video makes doing yoga so easy and it's great to do it along with a plus size gal like Megan. Additionally, my back pain is 90% gone and I find myself reaching for the DVD when I am in pain to help strengthen and stretch my spine. I hope they come out with more videos with Megan Garcia. I strongly recommend this video for any one of size.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE MEGAN!!!
I just got this video after reading about her in the newspaper, and I love it!!I've tried Yoga classes before, but honestly it's hard to be the biggest person in the class, and I haven't ever really been able to stick with it.It's so great to be able to do it at home, and Megan really knows how do adjust the poses so I don't hurt myself!I hope more videos are on the way!

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, empowering yoga for real people
Finally an introduction to yoga specifically designed with you in mind. For everyone who has been intimidated by tight abbed instructors or gym/studio settings, Megan (who is warm and accessible) helps you get in touch with yourself and master the basics of yoga in the privacy of your home. She's great! She even offers modifications and special tips! If she can do it, so can we! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great workout for day or night
So far, this is my favorite Ravi Singh & Ana DVD. First let me describe it in detail as I know that will help you in deciding whether or not to buy it.It starts with the Tuning in Mantra-Ong Namo GuruDev Namo 3x.Then there is a breath meditation to use " so that nothing will get on your nerves"It is 10 sniffs and 1 exhale.Next are standard kundalini warm-up--spinal grinds and flexes. Then there are the standing exercises such as stretching back and down, side to side; leg to leg; wide angle stretch; crow squat with breath of fire, etc.Sitting down stretches are butterfly stretch; one legged stretch with the bent leg in rock pose(if you have bad knees like I do, you will need to put a pillow behind your bent leg OR don't sit in rock pose.Next is plow pose; cobra pose with wide legs; upward facing bow with breath of fire--this is quite hard as I can not hold upward bow for 2 minutes, which is about how long this exercise is.Instead I do bridge with a block under my tail bone. The last exercise is Sat Kriya. My absolute favorite! Finally there is a relaxation and the Guru Ram Das mantra at the end of class.Overall I love this DVD.What I don't like is the music. The mantra music is by Wah! and is Reggae style.I don't like Reggae music so at that point in the DVD I turn it off and put on my favorite version of Guru Ram Das.Ana looks like she wearing her underwear, but since you do kundalini yoga with your eyes closed,I bearly notice her any more. The DVD is accessible to everyone and I'm glad I got it.Hope this review helps you.Oh by the way, all kundalini classes end with the "Long Time Sun" song.Snatam Kaur recorded a very nice version of this closing song.Sat Nam

5-0 out of 5 stars Feedback on Ravi/Ana DVDs
3 months ago I got the 3 Ravi and Ana DVD's(Warrior Workout, Ultimate Stretch and Navel Power) and they are the most interesting workouts I have ever done.I have had many years of neck and shoulder pains. I had been seeing a chiropractor 2X a week for a month before I read about these tapes and tried them. I tried the Warrior First(probably a mistake)and ended up feeling more tight in my neck and shoulders then I already did.By the time I went to sleep that night though I started feeling really good. I slept like a baby and by the morning I felt better then I have in years.
I canceled a couple of my chiropractor appointments because I felt so good. They kept calling me and I finally went in to show them how good I was doing. I had all the doctors coming in and listening to my story aboutdoing the Kundalini Yoga DVD's They were amazed at how fluid my back really was now. I have been continuing with these DVD's and still maintain more openess and less tension in my neck and shoulders.
I plan to purchase their other DVD's to help me further explore Kundalini Yoga.
Thank you Ravi and Ana for giving me the opportunity to have this experience in my life.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this DVD
I love this DVD for what it does for my back. I am much stronger in all my back bending poses. My hips feel freeer and I feel like I have found an extra inch in my spine. People have asked me if I've gotten taller! I do this two times a week. This is my Sunday and Wednesday morning ritual.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very very very excellent DVD's!
About 1,5 year ago the person I go to for SHIATSU , started to attend Kundalini-yoga-classes in Amsterdam.
He became very, no, extremely enthousiastic and soon he started to teach me a bit at the beginning or end of the shiatsu. And so I started reading about Kundalini and got through him my first Kundalini tape, and soon after I bought the Ravi &Ana Total Tune Up and Yoga Cleanse DVD's.
Now I bought the newest DVD's and I amthrilled with the new workouts!
The Kundalini yoga helped me very much to get out of a very serious depression, to structure and motivate me at the beginning of the day and also to overcome the side-effects of the medication I took.
It also helps me to keep my lower back in shape because a hyper-mobility off my spine causes me severe back-problems when I meet stress.
The Kundalini-fever infected my life in such a positive way that I am gladly spreading the virus under my friends. The excellent DVD-work-outs are so clear and easy to follow, that it's a very nice way to do yoga on your own when you wake up in the morning. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than any other Primary Series DVD out
If you are familiar with the Power Yoga and Primary Series DVDs read this:

I have purchased and reviewed Berly Bender's Power Yoga and Richard Freeman's Primary Series DVDs and I must say that this one is actually better. Power Yoga is not broken up into sections (a problem for some viewers), Swenson's DVD is. Power Yoga provides a class-like setting with students of different skill levels performing everything from the complete version of a pose to a variety of modifications. Swenson's video has a demo and intro section that explains modifications. Richard Freeman's Primary Series is broken up into sections and offers no modifications, while Swenson does offer modifications, and the same level of expertise performing the asanas. Also, I liked Swenson's more reassuring style versus Freeman's more clinical style. Swenson struck me as more encouraging (which I think is important to anyone just starting out in Ashtanga Yoga) often encouraging the viewer to "follow your breath" and "not to sacrifice the breath to attain a posture". Overall, this DVD is a nice cross between the Power Yoga and Primary Series DVDs, offering the encouragement and modifications of Bender and the expertise of Freeman.

If you are not, read this:

David Swenson's DVD is a tremendous buy for anyone who is interested in an at home Ashtanga practice. The DVD is 2 hours long and offers a demo and introduction and breaks the Primary Series up into it's seperate parts (i.e. Sun Salutations, Standing Sequence, Seated Sequence, Closing Sequence). Swenson includes a deep relaxation portion which I enjoyed. It offers about 10+ minutes of meditation (something most DVDs avoid these days). Swenson expertly performs all of the asanas, but maintains a reassuring attitude throughout the practice. Swenson constantly encourages the viewer to "follow the breath" instead of killing yourself to get into a pose. Keep in mind thought that no matter how reassuring Swenson is, this is a tough practice. If you are new to yoga, watch this tape all the way through before even attempting a posture. The Primary Series is approximately 90 minutes of sweating, it produces tremendous heat. With that in mind if you are looking for a challenge, want to lose weight, or try a more vigorous form of yoga, then this is for you. Keep in mind you will sweat (alot). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for beginning Yoga and Teaches to Advanced..
I just became interested in Yoga. However there are thousands of videos out there. I am so happy that I picked this one. First there is an instruction option. The instructor explains the proper way to do all poses and shows you a beginner option. you can also view a picture of all poses if you need to better understand the poses. She also takes the time to explain the name and meaning all poses and small tips about the exercise flash on the screen. once you have mastered all the poses. There is an non stop yoga workout that includes all the poses you have already learned..once you have mastered the beginner DVD you can progress to the more advanced dvd. I purchased the pack because you end up saving more than if you bought each DVD separately. I am very pleased with this choice and you will be too.

5-0 out of 5 stars A SUPERB SERIES
This series is exactly what you would expect from Yoga Journal. Clear and concise instructions. Fantastic photography. Soothing music. Each practice runs 20 minutes and covers all the bases. Vol. 1 is the most beginner friendly, focusing on standing poses and sun salutations. Vol. 2 focuses on forward bends. VOl. 3 focuses on balncing poses, i.e. handstand, headstand. These are excellent if you don't have much time for your practice. Typically during the week I choose a 20-30 min. program and an hour or so on the weekends. 5-0 out of 5 stars Powerful Attunement
I have now purchased Steve Murray's... "Reiki Healing Attunement", "Reiki 1st Level Attunements", "Reiki 2nd Level" and "Master Attunement".
I was very impressed with the healing energy that comes forth through these much needed DVD'S of Reiki attunements.

However, if you are looking for information on the history of Reiki, you will not find it here. There are many wonderful books out there for that kind of knowledge, but if you are truly interested in receiving Reiki attunements then these are the DVD's I recommend. If you are wanting attunements to be able to heal yourself, others and this beautiful world we live in, then Steve's DVD Attunements are for you.

I was blown away by the love I felt and the flow of positive energy. The attunements are powerful! I am so eternally thankful someone stepped outside their comfort zone and made Reiki attunements available at such an affordable price. Reiki is needed now more than ever. This is truly healing for the now and the future.

If you are interested in making a positive difference in yourself, and others, I urge you to get these Reiki attunements. And don't let people tell you that to be able to receive attunements you have to do it in secret, and it has to cost a lot of money. Reiki energy is a gift from God and is a free, loving energy to anyone that has a desire for healing.

I thank Steve for having a vision for the betterment of everyone!

This will honor you where you are, and inspire you to go beyond your impossibilities!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Like Finding Hidden Treasure!
I find myself lacking the words to describe how Steve Murray's
    Video's have changed my life.
I first purchased Reiki Level One Attunement And the Reiki Psychic Attunement Video from Steve almost two years ago.
After the third time I watched Steve's tapes I was on the internet chat room known as yahoo and a young woman that was very distressed over the death of her friend and her mother who died over a year ago was in the chatroom.
I felt so sorry for her and wished with all my heart that I could help her.
Suddenly these names and faces came to me and started communicating to me for her.
I knew her mom and friends name ,how they passed and their was a very long conversation. The young lady was so happy and relieved to here from them and that was the day I began my work as a psychic medium.
Since then I have bought every tape of Steve's I could get my hands on.
I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful this has been for me and how many people have been helped by my gifts being brought froth and I owe it all to Steve Murray.
    Thank You Steve!

5-0 out of 5 stars Learn Reiki the affordable way! :-)
Up until a few months ago I had no idea that I could learn Reiki because of the price many were charging. I had all but given up hope on ever affording to learn this healing modality. I had heard from friends who learned Reiki about the $$$PRICE$$$ they payed to learn Reiki. Ouch! I basically had forgotten about wanting to learn Reiki (because of sticker shock) until I came across on Amazon.com Steve Murray's attunment videos and guide by accident. Let me tell you this mode of getting the attunments REALLY WORKS!
Another Reiki Master doubted the ability of getting the attunments via a VHS or DVD, but I was open minded because of all of the spiritual seeking and experiences I have had in my life. The Reiki Master discouraged me and like reverse psychology, I went ahead and purchased them anyway. I guess No means Yes to me.
My experience with the attunment video's were VERY POWERFUL. I felt like I was in a trance (I am sure I was) and the room became very bright white and cloudy. It felt as if an Ascended Master could have walked right in the room with me at any moment.
I could most definitely feel the energy!
By the end of the attunments it felt like I had slapped my hands together so hard and could feel the energy, tingling and heat in my hands and even in my feet. Purchasing the guide book is really something you should do if you are going to get the attunment video's or DVD's. They go hand in hand. Money well spent!
I have since been using Reiki on myself, my son and even a wild bird who flew into my sliding glass door. I have also done a session on my Mom who was sick in Brazil on a trip while I was at my home in California and also to a sick friend in Arizona.
Owning the attunment videos is so wonderful because I can reattune anytime and as often as I like.
Thanks Steve for being a Maverick and making it possible for me and others like me to afford to learn Reiki!!!
    Love and Light to all!
    Kim

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellently produced and World Class! Beautifully Done!!
I bought the Level I and II attunements by Video. They are great to use as attunements and as reinforcements to your healing energy. These videos are world class, and like Steve's book, get right to the point. The videos are inspiring and set in beautiful natural settings. The footage and music, the backgrounds and the presentation are extremely well done and professional. It didn't take me but a few moments to get into the mood of things and tune right in to the meditative state. Steve guides the viewer to a relaxed and receptive state of mind. The music in this particular attunement reached deep inside my being and stimulated my energy centers. I experienced some unsual, but pleasant and positive sensations and knew I had been given a real reiki treatment during the attunement. If you are a skeptic and want a quick fix way to get an attunement, it might not do anything for you. But if you are sincere, and your heart and mind are open, and your mind is clear, and you are sensitive and humble, you definitely will feel and receive the Reiki energy that Steve transfers into these videos. I did. I actively began using the Reiki and symbols after my attunements and they worked instantly. I think these videos and DVD's work hand-in-hand with Steve's books and are worth being in the healer's collection to be used over and over again for recharging and strengthening the Reiki healer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank You ! Steve
Thanks to Steve Murray for making available to all who seek this, an affordable system that works. I have recieved all three levels of attunement and My life is truly changed for the better. Not to mention the great change in my massage practitioners business. I offer Reiki with the massage for a total experience. The DVDs and The Book are wonderfull. Easy to follow and read. 5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Great for the Beginner and out of shape
This is a wonderful tape for all of us who are out of shape and no longer limber.
Peggy targets those of us who want to get started but cannot keep up with the tapes designed for the already physically fit.
It is broken into 3 sections so even the most out of shape can do at least the first part.
My 79 year old mother did the first 20 minutes of this tape with me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent yoga video
This is an excellent yoga video. It is easy to follow with good instruction and it is versatile for various body types and abilities. Highly recommend this video.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect introduction course for beginners!
For a student of the Indian classical dance like me, this DVD proved quite helpful, especially the breathing instructions, although I would prefer to see some more spiritual explanations (yoga is not aerobics, after all!), and the psychological meaning and effect of the postures.
Peggy Cappy's presentation is very clear, and covers the basics. I particularly liked the Sun Salutations series, as these are practised by all professional Bharatanatyam dancers, who have to produce rather complex postures. I know I will never be as flexible and as agile as the young professional dancers, and I will hardly ever dance as effortlessly and gracefully as Medha Hari in her DVD, but Peggy Cappy's excercises will make you stay fit and healthy, if this is what really matters for an amateur dancer like me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This was a wonderful discovery that has really transformed my entire life. It proved to be much more useful to me than the Pilates Beginning Mat Workout and the Living Yoga tapes I had gotten because I used to be fairly glued to the couch due to my weight. But this low-impact and low-stress approach to physical fitness has really created a whole new world for me to live my life in now with tremendous opportunities for self-expression and fulfillment. With this as a building block for physical change, I was able to move onto a great new diet approach with South Beach, and subsequently my husband and I found new sparks in our intimate life with the aid of the magnificent "New Sex Now" video training -- an experience that really got our hearts pounding like never before. All of these life-transforming products come with heartfelt thanks and the highest recommendations. Life is too short to waste it sitting on a couch watching the world pass you by. Do something to make your world a better place!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yoga with a Chair
I saw Peggy Cappy on Public Television during the December 2003 fund drive. I was impressed with her ability to teach yoga to a diverse group of students. The class is primarily attended by persons over the age of 50 years that have limited mobility. Peggy uses chairs to enable students to stay safely on their feet while attempting unfamiliar ways of moving their bodies. The video covers most of the basic standing poses (tree, triangle, warrior I and II, downward facing dog, upward facing dog as well as a simple sun salutation). this is a must have for yoga teachers and for all others that have joint stiffness, limited mobility (because of age, infimity or weight). She has said it most aptly, Yoga for every body. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Yoga Package for Beginners-
Crunch has put together two yoga workouts that work well for beginners and beyond. Both are taught by Sarah Ivanhoe, a calming yet energetic (for yoga) instructor. These are non-mystical yoga tapes, which is nice if you haven't done yoga before. No meditation or cosmic anything. She teaches a group class, and some modifications are shown by class members.

The Joy of Yoga is a well planned workout that is a great intro to yoga, or a nice cooldown after a longer cardio or weight workout. It is relaxing and energizing, so you can do it any time of day.

Fat Burning Yoga is tougher, more like a high beginner workout. It is not so tough that one should be wiped afterwards, but one will definitely feel worked out. The pace moves, but not too quickly. I don't know how much Fat-burning this really accomplishes, but it will definitly burn some calories, and work out kinks at the same time.

The DVD interface is well planned, and it is very easy to go through each ot the two programs as written. They are also broken into chapters, so mixing between the two is possible, as it putting together a long yoga workout.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fat burning? Not really
This DVD comes with two workouts: Joy of Yoga and Fat Burning Yoga.

If you are one of those whose attention was caught by the title of this DVD "Fat Burning Yoga", well, let me tell you you will be disappointed in this one. The Fat Burning workout runs a little over half an hour, which essentially makes it ineffective in burning fat. This is not to say that it's not a good yoga workout, it's just that when you feel like you *just* got started, the routine has ended. If you are looking for a short yoga workout which will make you sweat a little, you will be happy with this one. It's easy but challenging enough for someone in the beginner's level and Sarah is a great instructor. She has a soothing voice and she clearly love what she does.

The other workout routine, the Joy of Yoga, is a good introduction to yoga. However, you may get bored of that one quickly though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Breaking the tension
I'm pretty active. I run and lift weights. But my flexibility is very poor and I carry a lot of tension these days, as most people do. I used to do yoga years ago. I'm now 35 years old and starting over. This DVD is excellent for someone trying to get their groove back. The stretches are great and there's a lot of focus on the back, breathing and abs. I just started using this workout. I love the first workout (The Joy of Yoga), which is a great ease into it workout. Great for the mornings. After doing the second workout (Fat Burning Yoga), I actually broke a sweat and found some of the poses a little difficult. But I know in time as my flexibility improves, I will be able to follow it better. The instructor, Sara Ivanhoe, has a great soothing voice and explains the poses in a clear way so you don't have to continually watch the TV monitor. Easy to follow and very rewarding. It's something I can routinely do, which is key to any exercise workout. Definitely a recommend for beginners or people revisiting yoga after a long hiatus.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good
This is good for stretching, balancing, and gaining a little strength. The Joy of Yoga is relaxing, and the Fat Burning Yoga is more for stability and flexibility. Pretty easy, but ok once a week.

1-0 out of 5 stars this workout is to yoga what cliffnotes are to literature
This workout uses yoga vocabulary, but it's really just gymnastics. That said, it's not really interesting gymnastics. The instructors talk too much, by the fourth time you're bored as anything and want to just get on with the workout instead of listening to them. For people interested in more serious yoga AND a really good workout, check out the Flow Series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great place to start
I bought this for my husband, because the usual beginner tapes/dvds were too advanced for him. He actually went through the entire time, and said he felt better afterwards. Any other dvd, he would have only lasted about 10 minutes.

Then... I became sick, and didn't practice yoga for almost two months. This was a terrific practice for me, to get back into the swing of things. Not too hard, but a good stretch and flexibility session.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for beginners!
I chose this DVD because I would definitely consider myself an "extreme" beginner at yoga. I'm not very flexible and I've always felt self-conscious about my coordination. But I also have a weak back and I know I need to lose weight and exercise more. I LOVE this DVD. Evamarie immediately sets a relaxed and very manageable pace. Her voice is soothing and her manner is very down to earth. She has no one-legged balancing poses or "pretzel" positions (thank goodness for me), but what she does have is sufficiently challenging to make me feel like I've had a good workout. She is very explicit about proper form and allows for plenty of options if any pose feels out of your comfort zone. The outdoor setting is pleasing to eye, and the classical music is ambient without being overpowering. I feel like I'm well on my way to finally get into shape! ... Read more
